My Favourites | Mixed Collections | Kylie Kingham.

Hello lovely ones! It’s Kylie back with you on the blog and today I am sharing my top 3 favourite layouts for 2019. I actually found it hard to choose just 3 as I love all the supplies I have created with.Cocoa Vanilla Studio brings out the best of my creativity! Anyway, I have been browsing through my photo files and here are my favourite 3 for 2019 in no specific order!

1: CAPTURED featuring the UNFORGETTABLE collection.

This was the first layout I created with the new ‘Unforgettable’ collection.

I remember being totally smitten with the ‘STORYTELLER’ paper, (actually I still am) and I based my whole layout around this background page.Flowers are totally my jam and I loved how these layered blooms came together.All that colour and texture made my heart sing!

2: ‘THE BEST’ featuring the BOYS RULE collection.

The Boys Rule collection is probably one of my most favourite ever. I love everything about it from the colour palette to the icons and artwork. Whenever I create with this collection my layouts come together so fast and I am always happy with my finished page. It’s one of the easiest collections to create amazing layouts of my little man with. I remember loving myself sick once this was done as I was for once happy with my mixed media background. Haha! (Mixed media and I aren’t friends most of the time.)

3: ‘HAPPY DAYS’ featuring the ‘MIDNIGHT’ collection.

Whenever I create with the ‘Midnight’ collection I fall in love with the cute mason jars all over again….Every time! I have created several layouts with this range purely based on these cute jars as being a centrepiece of my completed design.Sometimes an element of design or a sticker or a colour really jumps out at you and for me this was the case. I added quite a few jars in this layout as well as using a cut file in my background. ‘Midnight’ has a lovely monochromatic vibe and pops of pink that really catch your eye.

2019 Favourites | Mandy Melville

Hey friends!

Well, can you believe that we are fast approaching the end of 2019?! Does anyone else feel like this year disappeared in a blur? To finish the year off, our design team will each be sharing their favourite projects that they created during the year. I always find it so hard to narrow down to just a few, because so many memories have been documented on my layouts throughout the year, BUT I think these three layouts would definitely have to be amongst some of my faves!

The first layout I’m sharing was created using the super gorgeous Happiness collection, along with the coordinating cut files designed by Cut to You! The colours and the florals in this collection are sooo pretty, and the cardstock titles were definitely a fantastic addition too! It was perfect for documenting a photo of my three kiddies taken on Easter morning!

The next layout I’m sharing was created with the beautiful Wild at Heart collection. This collection is still one of my favourites, with its gorgeous rich colours, and I think it worked perfecty with this photo of my eldest daughter and I, taken on Mother’s Day this year. You probably know by now that I’m a huge fan of fussy cutting, and the floral patterned papers in this collection are perfect for this! And for my last layout, I’m sharing one that I created using the most recent Cocoa Vanilla collection, Unforgettable. One thing I love about this collection is that there are lots of different colour combinations, and for this layout I decided to focus on the peach and mint colours, along with that beautiful woodgrain patterned paper. I documented a photo of my youngest daughter and I, taken on one of our ‘Mummy and Ella’ days, and again I couldn’t resist fussy cutting some gorgeous florals to embellish my layout. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very happy Christmas and New Year! Xmas JOY | Unforgettable | Amanda Baldwin

Hi Cocoa Vanilla Studio Friends & Fans!

Amanda here, & I am super excited to share my Christmas theme page with the beautiful UNFORGETTABLE collection. I know – it isn’t a Christmas line, nor are there any Holidays elements to this collection BUT, I think UNFORGETTABLE is pretty versatile and suits all occasions! Here’s what I came up…

“Xmas JOY”

How beautiful! White & Peppermint is always synonymous with Yuletide vibes & is such an elegant color scheme to create with! Love it! Let’s take a closer look….

Christmas joy, indeed! These two were having such fun decorating the tree and dancing about to Christmas music. Such a happy capture – remember these days!!!

I started my layout with the reverse side of patterned paper, CV-UF007 SPRIGHTLY. I just adored those mint and white stripes, and knew they’d subtly suggest candy canes & peppermints. A perfect start to my Christmas page! To this paper, I centered & layered an 11″ x 11″ sheet of white cardstock. This created a really crisp and fresh background for my layout.

I cut a very simple digital cut file from Lilium Pixel SVG (in the Silhouette Store) called: Circle Floral Wreath and backed it with the B side of our divine CV-UFOO3 GARLAND paper. The simpleness of the wreath and snowflakes, combined with this stunning patterned paper was more than enough to create those Holiday feels! I foam mounted this wreath onto my base, before adding my photo cluster and embellishments.

How sweet!

My photo cluster is made from a combination of the 6 X 8 PAPER STACK papers ( the smaller versions of pattern papers: STORYTELLER and NATURAL BEAUTY) that I have layered beneath my photograph. Between these layers, I also tucked in a few coordinating DIE CUT EPHEMERA pieces, and some ACCESSORY STICKERS. I foam mounted the last layer, and before adhering it to my layout, I also attached a few leafy CLEAR STICKERS to enhance the Christmas wreath appeal.

Over my photo, I adorned that fabulous Love this FLAIR BUTTON, and added my title, ‘JOY’. I should note that the ALPHABET STICKERS used on this layout are from an older Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection called ENDLESS SUMMER. I specifically selected all the mint colored letters for my page.

To the right of my photo cluster, I added one more phrase sticker, Every photo has a story from the ACCESSORY STICKERS sheet. I used the white and mint green ENAMEL DOTS to decorate around the photo & wreath, as well as a few glass beads and sequins from my stash.

Simple, but so effective!

To the top left hand side of my page, and following the curve of the wreath, I attached the ‘xmas’ part of my title, and embellished around it with CLEAR STICKERS & ENAMEL DOTS.

For a finished look, I embellished around the wreath with more stickers, sequins and ENAMEL DOTS.

And there you have it!

A very beautiful, UNFORGETTABLE, Christmas layout!

Merry & Bright | Unforgettable Collection | Michelle Stokes

Hi Everyone It’s Michelle back here with a new festive share for the month of December. I’ve used the Unforgettable collection to document a sweet moment of Leila in front of the Christmas tree last year, right before she ripped into all the presents. The colours within this collection are perfect for documenting any occasion, even Christmas!

I chose a fun BIG cut file from CUT to YOU to used as the base of this layout and backed the open pieces of the letters using papers from the 6×8 paper stack. Perfect small designs that work wonderfully with intricate cut files. I couldn’t choose one pattern to be the backing piece for the layout, so I chose the PRETTY BITS paper for all its wonderful colourful designs and added some of the grey GLORIOUS in place of the butterflies.

The patterns I used to back the cut file with are SPRIGHTLY, NATURAL BEAUTY, GARLAND, GLORIOUS, LACEWING & STORY TELLER

Once all three of the main parts to the layout were sandwiched together ( cut file, cardstock and backing pattern paper) I added the photo and embellishments. I added a couple of layers behind the photo to tie all the colours together – FORGET ME NOT, STORY TELLER & LACEWING. These are from the smaller 6×8 paper stack with the addition of the pink ephemera piece and heart from a previous cut file. The floral piece at the top of the photo has been fussy cut from the 6×8 glorious paper

I added one main floral cluster to the left of the photo using the large floral ephemera piece and a couple of extras tucked under and adhered with different foam tape. This added slight dimension at different heights to really make the layers pop.

Along the bottom of the cut file I added an extra floral piece, cut apart word, accessory sticker, clear sticker and some enamel dots. Lastly a splattering of gold ink and I called it done.

The Good Life | Unforgettable collection | Kylie Kingham.

Hello lovely friends. It’s Kylie back with you today to share another layout I have created with the ‘Unforgettable’ collection. Looking through my craft supplies I had so many decorative punches and border punches that I decided I wanted to use them to create some decorative edges for my layout. These punches were the inspiration for my completed design.

I layered several co-ordinating papers over each other.The top pages, (UNSCRIPTED & GARLAND), were cut slightly narrower than the base,(STORYTELLER) to create a border. I used a delicate scalloped lace border punch across the top edge of the top papers. Layered together it gave them a lovely texture as well.

For a little extra colour on my page I added a heart punched strip to the top of my page from the NATURAL BEAUTY paper. Some simple back stitching was added to the small edge that I added to the base of my page.

Since there was so much colour happening in my layout I chose to print my photo in black and white. It was mounted to my background with foam tape so that it say up a little, enabling me to layer some floral accents for a dimensional look.

To complete my layout I added a title using the FOAM TITLE STICKERS as well as some sub phrasing below using the ACCESSORY STICKERS.

Shine Bright | Unforgettable | Mandy Melville

Hey everyone!

Mandy here today to share my take on the ‘white out’ theme, using the gorgeous Unforgettable collection. I use white cardstock A LOT for my backgrounds, so I really enjoyed the challenge to use a patterned paper instead. I documented a photo of my two girls, taken at Eleanor’s 5th birthday party last weekend. They were both dressed up for the party, as Eleanor chose to have a ‘magical’ theme, and the colours in their outfits matched perfectly to the gorgeous peach and purple tones in the Unforgettable collection! (Not intentional, but definitely a happy coincidence!)

I decided on using the reverse side of the Lacewing patterned paper as my background. I love the beautiful peachy colour of that paper, and the tone on tone sketchy flowers! I then added an 8 inch strip of the Story Teller patterned paper (reverse side) across the middle section of the background. I’m not sure if that was cheating just a little bit, because it’s still white, but it really helped all of the elements on the page to stand out, and it also gives the viewer’s eye a place to rest amongst all of that colour. Plus it’s still a patterned paper, so technically I didn’t cheat right?! I also trimmed down a piece from the Pretty Bits paper to tuck under the top and bottom edges of the white patterned paper.

Next I fussy cut a few floral clusters out of the Glorious patterned paper and then layered them across the layout to create one long cluster. How gorgeous are the florals in this collection?! I also tucked a few extra die cut leaves into the cluster where I felt like it needed a little something more to help it feel balanced. When I adhered the floral clusters and die cuts, I added glue only to the middle, so that the leaves would lift off the page, giving it some nice dimension.

For my title, I used the words ‘Shine Bright’ from the Foam Title Stickers pack. I love the contrast that the black title adds to the page, and I think it’s a perfect sentiment for my girls!

I matted my photo with the reverse side of the Unscripted patterned paper, and then tucked it in above the floral cluster. I also added a couple of die cut butterflies around the layout, as well as a larger one that I cut out of the Pretty Bits patterned paper. To finish the layout off, I scattered some enamel dots around the page.

The Sweet Life | Unforgettable | Amanda Baldwin

Hi Cocoa Vanilla Studio Friends!

Amanda here, joining you today with some super pretty UNFORGETTABLE inspiration! This week the Design Team have been asked to create scrapbook pages that feature pattern paper as the background – so no white cardstock! We’re aptly calling it ‘white out’ week! Here’s what I came up with…..

“The Sweet Life”

Sweet indeed! What a delightful page!

You’ll spy that I used the beautiful woodgrain paper, CV-UF008 NATURAL BEAUTY as my background paper. However, once I started looking at all those pretty papers I just couldn’t stop at one – so.much.gorgeousness! Naturally, there are lots of pretty pattern papers featured on my layout today! Let’s take a better look….

Isn’t this just gorgeous?!! And truly, life couldn’t be any sweeter with my two darlings!

To the top of my layout, I added a one inch strip of that divine floral, CV-UF001 GLORIOUS. This paper makes me swoon every single time I lay eyes on it! Such a stunning floral design! And speaking of florals, I used that coordinating floral swag DIE CUT EPHEMERA piece to embellish the GLORIOUS trim, and act as an anchor for my title and overall design.

My large title is a digital cut file courtesy of Cut To You, and I have backed it with a few of the 6 x 8 PAPER PAD papers. ‘The Sweet Life’ papers happen to be the smaller variation of the B-side designs to CV-UF003 GARLAND and CV-UF005 LACEWING. Love!!! The 6 x 8 PAPER PAD is the perfect choice for backing cut files with!

I embellished my larger title with a few carefully selected pieces, the first of which was my photo cluster. I tucked my photo just beneath the edge of my title and attached them together with the ‘treasured’ ACCESSORY STICKER. I used another sticker beneath my photo, as well as a DIE CUT EPHEMERA tab to support my photograph. Here’s a closer look for you…

The Cocoa Vanilla Studio FLAIR BUTTONS are always amazing, and I added that sweet camera one to complete the look.

To balance my black & white photo on such a colourful page, and create that second point of interest to the title, I foam mounted that sweet DIE CUT EPHEMERA camera embellishment. Subtle, simple but so effective!

In keeping with the rule of three, and the sweet camera embellishments, I also featured the pretty black camera ACCESSORY STICKER. So cute!

The final adornment to that big title is the fussy cut the florals from pattern paper, CV-UF003 GARLAND. I foam mounted them just below the title, and ensured that they reflected the swag at the top of the page too. This really added that wow factor to my overall design.

The CV-UF008 NATURAL BEAUTY paper is so stunning that I had to use both sides of it. The pretty B-side (that striking black & white foliage print) trims the base of my layout. I ensured that the GARLAND floral arrangement overlapped this trim & in turn, created a more cohesive design. For a polished look I added the ‘best things in life…’ sentiment ACCESSORY STICKER and a good sprinkle of ENAMEL DOTS.

And there you have it! Beautiful, classic creating that highlights our gorgeous UNFORGETTABLE pattern papers!

Hello | Unforgettable Collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi Cocoa Vanilla friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new layout featuring the gorgeous Unforgettable collection!

The colours in the Unforgettable collection are beautiful so I decided to showcase them all on this layout! I pulled out the 6′ x 8′ paper pad and starting using the papers to back a heart cut file available in The Cut Shoppe. Once the heart design was backed, I added craft foam underneath and adhered it to the black and white spot paper also from the Unforgettable collection. I decided to trim down the black and white spot paper so that I could add the grey chevron paper is a border right around the page. I trimmed this paper down slightly also so that I could add a black cardstock border also.I added my photo of my 2 beautiful nieces slightly to the right of the heart and added a couple pf layers underneath including a paper doily and some more of the 6′ x 8′ papers from the paper pad. I also added one of the tags from the die-cut pack to the left of the photo and I popped up the photo and paper layers to give even more dimension. I pulled out the ‘Hello’ foam title and added it to the bottom of my photo and added a flair button and a phrase die-cut on the left of the photo.The butterflies in this collection are beautiful, quite a few of those made it onto my page also. To further embellish, I added 2 of the black foam hearts, some die-cut hearts and florals, some enamel dots and some of the stickers from the accessory sheet.

Love You | Unforgettable | Mandy Melville

Hello everyone!

Mandy here today to share another layout using the gorgeous new Unforgettable collection! I’ve used a lot of the beautiful bright pink on my layouts so far using this collection, so this time I decided to focus on the coral and mint colours, along with that lovely woodgrain patterned paper. I love this colour combination, and I think it works perfectly with this selfie of Eleanor and I!

I started by trimming down the Natural Beauty woodgrain patterned paper to about 9 1/4 inches square, and adhering it to the middle of my white cardstock background. I then added some machine stitching around the edge, and distressed the edges a little as well to give it some additional texture.

Next I fussy cut a couple of the floral clusters out of the Glorious patterned paper and I arranged them vertically down the page to make one large floral cluster. I chose clusters that had more of the coral and mint colours in them, and then covered any of the pink flowers with floral die cuts that matched my colour scheme. To bulk out the cluster even more, I tucked some additional die cut leaves and flowers around it, and I also added some leaves that I cut on my Cameo using the Unforgettable Cut Files.

I matted my photo with the reverse side of the Natural Beauty patterned paper, and I also tucked a 3×4″ piece that I cut out of the Pretty Bits patterned paper under the left hand side. To add a little bit more interest to the left hand side of the photo I also added a little flag banner sticker under the side of the photo and I adhered a flair button on the edge.

For my title, I once again couldn’t go past using the awesome Foam Title Stickers. I love the contrast that they add, and the scripty font is so pretty! I also added a couple of the little foam black hearts around the layout to create a visual triangle with the black title. Above the title I adhered an aqua phrase sticker which I cut in half to make it two shorter pieces rather than one long one.

To finish the layout off, I added a couple of die cut butterflies, a sprinkling of white enamel dots, some gold ink splatters, and lastly, my typed journaling strips.

Amanda here, & today I am sharing another super pretty layout with our gorgeous UNFORGETTABLE collection. For today’s layout, I wanted to create something really special for my sweet girl – I hope she likes it!

Here’s what I came up with…

“Little Moments”

Oh how preeeeeeeeeetty!!! Such a beautiful, floral page for my darling daughter!

Absolutely stunning!

You’ll spy the B-side of pattern paper CV-UF 001 GLORIOUS taking center stage! I fussy cut this paper along its own pattern line, and took advantage of the directional quality it posesses. Not only does this clever cut paper encourage movement and flow, it essentially draws attention straight into my sweet photo – LOVE!!! Such a clever way to trim & use this paper! For added impact, I adorned this paper with that sensational floral cut file.

It really is something, isn’t it?! I used papers from the 6 x 8 PAPER STACK, as well as some peach coloured cardstock to back this file. I filled the flower centers with ENAMEL DOTS pollen, and then embellished on and around the cut file with DIE CUT EPHEMERA blooms & leaves. To complete the look, I positioned a DIE CUT EPHEMERA butterfly in between the two large cut file flowers. Perfect! Like the GLORIOUS pattern paper, these cascading blooms lead you straight to my beautiful photo…..

Beautiful, indeed!

I tuck my photo into that gorgeous array of blooms, which are from the DIE CUT EPHEMERA pack. I also anchor my layout with a half inch trim of the reverse side of pattern paper, CV-UF007 SPRIGHTLY. This trim is errrrything!!! I just adore how it encompasses my overall design and forms the perfect base to this page!

I embellish this photo cluster with tiny fussy cut butterflies from the 6 x 8 PAPER STACK, more DIE CUT EPHEMERA flowers, and a couple of ACCESSORY STICKERS which I position beneath my photo!
