Hey everyone, this is Niki here (@nikiclairecreates) with a new layout and video using the Storyteller collection. I adored this collection when it came out a few years ago and I still love it now!
I have used a cut file for this layout – I don’t use cut files very often because I have a technical issue with my Silhouette machine but I have managed to cut this one! It is called ‘Geometric heart cut file’ and can be purchased and downloaded on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio website: https://cocoavanilla.com.au/Cut-Files-c161548809
I cut the cut file in white, and then back filled it using lots of patterns from the Storyteller A5 Paper Stack. I tried to stick to blues, greens and yellow patterns.
Once back filled, I placed my heart onto a white background. I added some areas of dark blue ink under the areas where my photo, title and embellishments would go. I then added lots of fussy cut flowers and Floral Ephemera and my title from the foam stickers ‘you make me smile’.
I also added a wooden button, some Chipboard Stickers and some phrase stickers from the Accessory Stickers.
I finished off with some black foam hearts, some little puffy hearts, handwritten journaling and some splatters of black paint.
I love how this layout turned out, it was lovely to use Storyteller again, and to use a cut file! I hope you like it too.
Hello, hello! It’s Anna here with another layout. This time I used a bit older “Storyteller” collection to make it. I still have plenty of elements and papers in my stash so it would be a pity to not to use some again. Once again I scrapbooked photo of my girls together, taken in March this year. They are getting older and less agreable when it comes to taking photos of them. Teenagers, right? So I need to take advantageof snapping them photos anytime I can.
I love saturated colors in this line and I contrasted them with white background. With my heart shaped dies, I die cut few hearts out of navy and pink patterns. I used both 12*12 papers and 6*8 Paper Stash.
Next step was to arrange them under my 6*4 photo, using 3D foam squares. I also added few flowers and leaves from Floral Ephemera Pack, reaching for the ones in blue, red and peach colors.
I love using Chipboard Stickers – they add so much texture to the page. I used few of them in between the hearts, like camera, banner and inscription. I also added few Wood Epoxy Buttons in my composition.
Creating a title is fast and easy with Foam Title Stickers. Their black color contrasts so well with colorful hearts and flowers. There are so many phrases to choose from. You can also build your own sentences!
I finished my project by adding tiny and cute Puffy Stickers hearts and some red splatters. It’s my signature move in most of my pages!
That’s it for today. Do you have “Storyteller” collection in your stash? If so, maybe it’s time to pull it out and put into good use again!
Thank you so much for spending your time with me and see in June!
Welcome to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog! It’s great that you’re looking for new scrapbook inspiration. Today, I have a new scrapbook layout made with the beautiful “Storyteller” collection designed by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. These stunning fresh colors really bring your layout to life.
I wanted to use this photo of my daughter in Sydney. I decided to punch out various hearts using my heart punch and chose different patterned papers. I playfully arranged the hearts in the center of my white cardstock. On top, I placed the photo of my daughter posing in front of the beautiful Sydney Opera House.
I selected various paper die-cut flowers and created two lovely flower clusters. I also wanted to use the paper die-cut shapes, like the a cute camera, banner, and several mini hearts to give a place on this layout. For the title, I chose the elegant black foam titles. These black elegant words go wonderfully well with this amazing collection.
I added some splatters with white gesso, which I mixed with water, and also splattered some of my blue distress ink “Faded Jeans. I hope I have been able to inspire you with this layout and look forward to seeing you again next time on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog. Have a wonderful and creative day. XoXo, Jo
Welcome to the scrapbook blog of Cocoa Vanilla Studio. It’s great to see you here looking for some new scrapbook inspiration. It’s May, and this month it’s all about flowers. Have you seen the new challenge yet, the Flower Frenzy Challenge? For this challenge, we invite you to use flowers as the main design element of your layout.
I found this challenge really exciting, so I dived into it using the beautiful “Storyteller” collection. I started by fussy cutting flowers from the patterned paper. I combined these flowers with the die-cut floral ephemera. Then, I trimmed some blue patterned paper to size and placed it behind the photo of my daughter. This photo was a perfect fit for the theme. She was posing by a small restaurant in Mexico, hidden behind a stunning sea of flowers.
Placing the photo roughly in the center of the white cardstock, I began creating a gigantic cluster of flowers above it. I was pleasantly surprised by how it turned out. On either side of the photo, I added a few small flowers and leaves in a playful manner. For the title, I used the word “Lovely” in black foam, and for the word “you,” I used a green alpha from my own stash. I thought the red puffy heart was a lovely finishing touch for the title.
Finally, I added some circle puffy stickers around the flower cluster. I had so much fun with the Cocoa Vanilla Studio May challenge, and I’m really pleased with how this floral layout turned out. I hope I’ve inspired you with this layout, and I’m looking forward to seeing your beautiful flower layouts too! Wishing you a creative and wonderful day.
welcome to Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s blog today! I’m so happy to share a new scrapbook layout featuring the fantastic “Storyteller” collection. As we embark on a new year filled with fresh scrapbook inspiration and ideas, I decided to print a lovely photo of my husband and me on New Year’s Eve in a narrow strip for this layout.
For the foundation of my design, I selected three different patterned papers and cut three strips from each, folding and arranging them side by side. The next step was to dive into the world of decorating and embellishing. I absolutely adore creating layers in my clusters, and to add dimension, I opted for 3D foam.
Starting with a cluster in the bottom right corner, I carefully layered various elements. To enhance the depth of the layers, I employed the use of 3D foam. For the blue middle strip, I threaded light pink thread and adorned it with a cardstock sticker. In the top left corner, another delightful cluster came to life, featuring beautiful flower die-cuts. The banner, cut into a shape, complemented the composition perfectly.
The title took center stage, crafted using an alpha metal die-set. I cut out the word “Happy” from white cardstock and gave it a charming wood-look background. Personally, I find it adds a lovely touch to the overall design. To bring a festive vibe, I concluded by adding splatters of white gesso.
I hope this layout sparks your creativity and enthusiasm. I can’t wait to dive into the new collection and explore its possibilities. Have you spotted the latest collection “Great Escape” yet? If not, head over to the Cocoa Vanilla Facebook group and discover the excitement! It’s truly amazing!
Wishing you a wonderful day, and I look forward to see you here on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog soon. Until then, happy crafting!
Hey y’all! Laura Alberts back again with a fun grid layout using the Storyteller collection for my graduation photos! If there was ever a set of pictures that had a story to tell, it’s these ones! I love how perfectly the colors in this collection matched my robes and stadium.
For this grid, I used four 4 x 4 1/2 inch bases for my 3×4 inch photos. By pairing journaling cards with the two profile photos and frames or flags with the landscape style photos, I created continuity across the grid that allowed me to go wild with the embellishing! Chipboard butterflies gave these layered squares a 3D effect that really made them pop.
By choosing colors for my bases that either contrast or compliment the photos, I can make specific photos more of a focal point on the page. The yellow squares give two of the photos a little bit more prominence and catch your eye first thing. Using a mix of puffy stickers, chipboard, and ephemera to embellish these squares makes each of them unique and interesting.
But, my favorite detail on this page is the Nuvo drop border between the grids. It’s a small addition that gives this page so much character!
I hope this layout inspires you to freshen up your grid layouts with a variety of embellishments! To see how “Special to Me” came together, check out the process video below:
Welcome to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog. It’s Josefine here with a new mixed media scrapbook layout, and I’m using the beautiful “Storyteller” collection. I’m starting off by creating a mixed media background on my white cardstock paper. For this, I’m using distress oxide in the shade “faded jeans” and a sponge. I apply some distress oxide onto a craft mat and dab the ink onto the white cardstock paper by using a sponge. I repeat this process several times until I’m happy with the size of the ink splatters. I let it air dry, and meanwhile, I’m cutting out my title using my electric cutting machine, the “Cricut.”
I’ve chosen to cut the cutfile out of black cardstock. The cutfile “Class of 2023” is from the Cricut store. I place the cutfile on top of the blue mixed media background. The contrast between black and blue gives it an elegant touch, and it beautifully complements the colors of the Storyteller collection.
I place the photo of my daughter, who just graduated, on top of the cutfile. To add more contrast against the black cutfile, I decide to cut some patterned paper to size and place it behind the photo. I love searching for the perfect die-cuts and creating clusters on my layouts.
I choose various die-cut flowers, figures, labels, and puffy stickers to embellish my layout. The Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections are so comprehensive and offer countless possibilities to create various styles. I also decide to add some splatters of white gesso for a festive vibe. Underneath the photo, I cluster a label and a photo camera die-cut, connected together with dark blue floss. I absolutely love little details.
My layout is complete, and I’m really happy how it turned out. The Storyteller collection truly tells the story of this memorable day that I’ll never forget. I hope I’ve been able to inspire you with this layout and look forward to seeing you again next time with fresh inspiration. Wishing you a wonderful and creative day.
Today, I share with you a scrapbook layout I recently created using the beautiful “Storyteller” collection, designed by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. In this blog post, I will walk you through the process of creating a unique background using distress oxide in color of “faded jeans.” Additionally, I’ll show you three different ways to use a single patterned paper, along with a few embellishments, to complete this layout.
To set the foundation for my scrapbook layout, I decided to create a mixed media background using distress oxide ink. The color I use for this layout was “faded jeans.” With its subtle blue tones, it perfectly complemented the overall theme of my layout. The distressed effect added depth and texture to the background, setting the stage for the focal points of my design.
One of the highlights of the “Storyteller” collection is the stunning array of patterned papers it offers. The challenge for today is “one paper, three ways”
Die-Cut Hearts with Blue Patterned Paper: To begin, I adorned the die-cut hearts with a beautiful blue patterned paper from the collection. The heart designs and soft hues added a touch of elegance to the layout. Placing the hearts strategically in the center of the layout.
Next, I carefully hand-cut some flowers from the reverse side of the same patterned paper. The vibrant blooms provided a striking contrast against the blue mixed media background. I made two clusters of flowers on both side of the picture that I cut into a circle.
The third way I employed involved transforming the patterned paper into origami butterflies. This technique showcased the versatility of the paper and added an interactive element to the layout. By skillfully folding the paper, I created charming butterflies that seemed to flutter above the flowers, adding a whimsical touch to the overall design.
In addition to the patterned paper, I enhanced the layout further by incorporating a few embellishments. Wooden buttons, foam title stickers, and die-cut labels. These small details helped to tie everything together.
I would thank you for visiting the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog today and I hope that I have inspired you in some way through this exploration of the “Storyteller” collection and its limitless creative possibilities. Remember, each scrapbook layout is an opportunity to preserve and share your cherished memories. Embrace your own creativity and enjoy your journey in the world of paper crafting. Have a wonderfully creative day!
Hello everyone! It’s Anna here with something a little bit different than usual! I know you love all the layouts (and I love them too), but sometimes you are not in the mood for memory scrapbooking. Sometimes you just want to have some fun, use up some embellishments and make something useful. This was exactly my motivation to make this notebook, that can be used as a diary. I am impatiently waiting for the brand new “Happy days” collection to arrive to my doorstep. In the meantime, I still have plenty of other gorgeous lines to play with so I chose “Storyteller” to make my notebook. You can still find plenty of elements from this line in CVS Shop!
As I mentioned, I made this notebook from scratch. If you would like to make something similar, you would need a binding machine like Cinch. I own this tool for years and it still serves me well. I use it to make not only notebooks but also mini albums.
If you would like to make something similar and you have a proper tool, you need to start with choosing your size. I was using A5 sized inserts so my cover needed to be a little big wider and taller. Depending if you wish to add some dividers or tabs, the cover can be a bit wider or shorter – it’s the big advantage of making your own notebook from scratch. I chose “Dits daisy” pattern papers for my front and back covers. I simply cut out pieces of cardboard to the needed size and wrapped them with paper.
I also cut smaller rectangles for the insides of both covers using pretty paper with florals. Now you are ready to punch holes in the covers. You can adjust how many you want, how long the wire should be – it’s all up to you.
From A5 Paper Stack Pack I chose few sheets to add them between the pages of the notebook. They can be used as a dividers or just some decorative pages, to add something extra to your notebook. I gathered them along the regular sheets and made holes too. With covers and inserts prepared I was ready to bind everything together with 1 inch wire.
After everything was connected, i could start embellishing pages and covers. I started with the dividers, adding some stickers from 6*12 Stickers Sheet and Ephemera Pieces. I challenged myself to use up the whole sheet of stickers and I managed to do so! Mission of making room for new collection completed! 🙂
I tried to keep the decorations as flat as possible so the notebook wouldn’t turn out too bulky. It will not close nicely if you add to many dimensional elements inside. However, I added Foam Title Sticker on the first divider and on the notebook cover.
I also added a big pocket on the back cover to hide some extra journaling cards to add to the pages later. You can also keep there some memorabilia! Pocket is decorated with Floral Ephemera. I also added a wreath of flowers on the front cover.
How do you like my idea of handmade notebook? You can use it by yourself or give away as a gift! And you can easily make one with collection leftovers so use up all the bits and pieces!
That is all for today. I will be back in two weeks with another inspiration. Maybe even made with brand new line! Fingers crossed for the fast shipping. “Happy days” is totally my jam and I can’t wait to dive into those yummy colors.
Hey Everyone it’s Michelle back with you today to share a super quick layout featuring the amazing Storyteller Collection. I’m still loving this collection with all its bright primary colours, perfect for documenting some first day of school photos that almost didn’t make it to print!
I knew I wanted to create something fast, simple and pretty all at the same time, and as we’re still in the month of ‘love’ I felt it needed to incorporate some kind of large heart design along with groups of pretty florals. The layout ended up being exactly what I was aiming for and will be a well cherished addition to Leila’s childhood albums for years to come.
I started off by finding a generic heart shape through google, and cutting the large shape out in the middle of some white cardstock using my silhouette. I adhered this piece to a second layer of white cardstock using foam sheets to give it some flat dimension.
I knew I’d be adding lots of colours to the layout in the way of floral clusters, so to avoid any pattern/ colour clashing I printed the photos of Leila in Black and White at just a smidge over 3x2inch size. I backed both photos with the woodgrain paper (Cross it Off) from the collection, added a couple of accessory stickers and adhered these pieces to the left of the heart using more foam sheeting to pop them up off the page a little.
The floral clusters came together so nicely but were probably the parts of the layout that took the longest. Fussy cutting is quite therapeutic, yet time consuming. I added a mix of ephemera pieces and accessory stickers to each of the groups to mix them up. The beautiful florals are from a mix of both the 12×12 and A5 version of the SpringFling paper.
I used a mix of adhesives for the clusters, mostly foam tape and glue dots for slight dimension.
There’s also a sneaky enamel heart within each cluster for a finishing touch within each group.
I created a mixed font title using the usual blend of both handwritten text and my beloved white alpha stickers, with the addition of machine stitching for extra detail and to keep them in place.
Here’s a closer look at how sweet these alphas are, lets all keep our fingers and toes crossed that they make an appearance back in the CVS store sometime in the future as they really are the best for creating titles with.
I added the usual gold ink splatters around the layout to finish it all off to, something I do to all layouts to make them feel complete.
Here’s one final look at the entire layout and all its white space goodness!
Well thats all from me today, thank you so much for stopping by to see another of my crafty creations using the StorytellerCollection.
