Hey y’all! Laura Alberts here again with a beautiful winter layout using the stunning, classic Love Always collection. I especially love the florals in this collection! They are so pretty and soft, perfect for a pastel layout like this one.
I started this layout with chipboard frames and a number of stunning patterned papers to back them with. The title is a cut-apart piece that I layered a frame on top of and decorated with Nuvo drops in gold. I outlined each of the frames with a black gel pen to give them a little depth with a faux shadow.
Next, I backed my photos with a beautiful bold pink from the Unforgettable collection to help them stand out. Layering the photos on top of the frames, then adding embellishment clusters on top of the photos, it gives the layout a 3D look without much bulk.

Hey y’all! Laura Alberts back again and I’m dipping into an OLD collection from 2016! After organizing my craft space, I found this collection and just had to dive in! It’s such a stunning mix of pastels and gray tones that were perfect for these first snow pictures. The title ephemera is from Midnight, but the rest is all from Love Always.
I started with this beautiful mixed media-style background paper, a strip of teal, then used ephemera pieces to create a border in between. The Nuvo drops and ephemera hearts along the right side gave this layout a fun pop of interest that it needed.
I cut out two tags from the patterned paper and layered them behind my photos, then built up two clusters that run diagonally through the photos. The cluster on the top leans to the right and the one on the bottom leans to the left. This guides the eye through the layout, and added to the butterflies, creates a sense of movement on the page.

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a sweet layout featuring the gorgeous Love Always collection!
My assignment for today was to create a project for the Throwback Thursday feature that we sometimes run, I just had to use the Love Always collection for love month!
Documenting a sweet photo of myself and my eldest niece together when she was last visiting. She is always up for a selfie with her Aunty! Love her gorgeous face!
The Love Always collection has such pretty floral ephemera and I knew that I wanted to include a lot of them on this layout. I decided to build some layers of florals below the photo which I made the focus of the page by placing it in the centre of the page. I included both vellum florals and ephemera florals for some different textures on my layout.
Under the photo, I layered a piece of the grey paper with the small white hearts and I tucked in the scalloped border die-cut on the right hand side as well. On top of the photo, I placed one of the cute puffy stickers and a sticker from the accessory sticker sheet.
Also on the right of the photo, I tucked in the die-cut tag and added some twine through the hole in the top of the tag. I stamped the date stamp using black ink on the tag also. On the left I continued the floral layers including some wood veneers this time. Here I also added one of the gorgeous butterfly die-cuts.
For my title, I could not go past the gorgeous wood veneer word, deciding on the word ‘Sweet’ from the wood veneer pack. I did however add the cute puffy banner sticker that says ‘Smile’ too. I added another of the butterfly die-cuts here at the top and also a cute small one down the bottom below the wood veneerleaves.
I trimmed down the patterned paper background that I chose for my layout and matted it to a sheet of plain white cardstock. I then machine stitched around the edge of the entire page to create a border. Some of the last things to finish off my page were to add some more of the phrase and word stickers from the accessory sticker sheet, a few more die-cuts and I also sprinkled some white mist on my page.
Thank you so much for stopping by the Cocoa Vanilla blog today! I hope you enjoyed reading about how I created my layout as much as I enjoyed creating it!
Hey y’all! Laura back again with a very subtly sweet layout for Throwback Thursday! I dug deep into my stash for the Love Always collection from 2016 and it is divine. Using a soft, pink watercolor pattern paper as my background, I layered two small and one large strip of paper as a foundation for my photos. Once in place, I challenged myself to use as many pieces of wood veneer as possible from the embellishment pack without overwhelming the page. Starting at the top with a large banner piece, a leaf cluster in the middle, two banners at the bottom, and one more heart on the far left squeezed in amidst this low-key design.
I added a long multi-word title to the left of my photo using the alphas from the Love Always collection pack and popped them up onto strips of foam. I layered a banner ephemera piece across two hearts in between my two photos to create a focal point nice and close to them. For a whimsical touch, I added three butterflies around the page and dotted Nuvo Drops behind them to create flight trails.
As a finishing touch, I splattered with metallic watercolor paint in silver and quickly discovered that a little bit of splatter can go a bit wild in the process! It works beautifully for filling empty areas on the page, however, and accenting the clusters of embellishments. My journaling centers around the special bond my mother-in-law and my youngest daughter have, these moments are so precious!
I hope this layout inspires you to try a subtle color palette for your next layout! To see how “Love When It’s Just Mimi & Me” came together, check out the process video below!

Hello Cocoa Vanilla Studio fans. It’s time to wrap up this year with my final project for 2020. December in our family is full of reasons to celebrate as 4 of us have birthday in this month. Add Christmas to this and we basically party all the December weekends. The youngest of us, born in December, is my older daughter Gabrysia. She is teenager already and few weeks ago she turned 12. We had modest party with no guests due to Covid, but we decorated the living room as always (mama needs those cute photos to scrapbook!). I took one of her pictures to make this colorful, yet simple page.
I decided to dig in my CVS stash and pull some random, party related items, like very old wood veneers, elements from bits and pieces bags, buttons and fabric bows. I just love creating this way, with no limitation of what I can use and with whole rainbow of possibilities.
I started with printing my photo on A4 size paper (the biggest my printer can print) and cut it into a circle. Such a colorful photo doesn’t need much of embellishing so I only picked a paper for the background with soft, pink stripes. It’s from this old collection called “Love always“. I also used a piece of wooden paper from “Hello lovely” to make a frame around the photo.
I found some wood veneers from birthday themed line “Make a wish”. It was a perfect opportunity to finally use them. I also added few stickers and ephemera pieces from the same line. I almost managed to use every bit of this collection. Puffy flamingo comes with “Endless summer” collection and paper tassels are from “Unforgettable“. My title is quite simple as I only added number 12 cut out from a silver mirror cardstock. I used small star punch to make smaller, silver stars and scaterred them around the photo.
I love how simple yet eye-catching this page is. Sometimes less is more! And I am always so happy when i have a chance to use up older things from my stash. I feel I gave them second chance and nothing goes to waste.
With this party page I wanted to wish you all Happy New Year. Let’s hope for better one as this girl really craves for some travelling and teaching classed! See you in 2021 Friends.
Hello crafty friends! It’s Kylie back with you today, with a new layout for ‘Throwback Thursday’. I got to create a new page with a past collection and couldn’t resist working with the ‘Love Always’ range. The pastel tones and florals are so, so pretty and were perfect for my page design.
I chose the CLASS ACT paper as a background and added some torn border edges of both BOUQUET and FROLIC for some extra colour and texture. I really loved the ‘Memories’ cut file designed by Paige Evans, which I backed with a pink and black tonal theme from the collection. In place of the ‘O’ I added my photo.Once it was all in place I backed the cut file with some foam adhesive and adhered it to my page.
To create an even balance on my page I have added several clusters of die cuts. Some with foam adhesive to build a nice dimension.I was careful with their placement so that I didn’t cover over the cut file too much so that it couldn’t be read.Because I had adhered the cut file with foam adhesive, it allowed me to be able to tuck some of the embellishments in underneath.
To complete my page I added some smaller phrase die cuts below my photo. I loved the blend of pastel colour once it was finished!
Hello everyone. It’s Anna here with my newest page. The theme for this week is SPRING or EASTER and I couldn’t be more happy about it. I love making spring pages with fresh colors and flowers. Because of the situation around the world I wasn’t able to snap fresh pictures yet but I have plenty of them from previous years. I decided to reach for photos we took during our trip to Netherlands few years ago. We visited fantastic Keukenhof Garden, known for splendid tulips. It’s only open for few weeks of spring. I toom so many pretty photos that it was hard to choose only few. I decided to use 5 and put them in a row. I was looking for matching line and papers from “Love always” drawn my attention.
I like revisiting older lines. I can look at them with fresh eye and use up the leftovers. To avoid boredome and change things a little bit I didn’t use straight lines. I tilted a second layer paper a little bit and use this angle as a guideline for further layers.
My pictures are colorful and I wanted them to remain the main star of the project. I decided to keep things simple and I added only a few embellishments around the photos, mostly flowers from ephemera pack. I also found few woodies from various lines and added them here and there.
My title is a combination of cardstock sticker, and two different alpha stickers. Mixing different fonts makes things more interesting. You can mix stickers with cut outs from digital die cutting machine. There are plenty of possibilities.
Do you like going back to the older lines or, in a very moment you get new ones, you just forget about them? That is all for today. I hope I inspired you to do some digging in the older stuff. Especially now, when we finally have time to use up everything we were hoarding for years 🙂 Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks <3
XO Anna
