Hi CVS friends, today is all about stash busting, yes its throwback Thursday. I recently invested some time in sorting out my older CVS collections, using three pizza boxes, one for 12×12 papers, one for paper scraps and the last one for embellishments. I have done this because I do not have enough left of a collection to create but adding them all together means I can be creative and mix and match collections.
Here is my throwback Thursday layout featuring a photo of my daughter. I went for an uplifting/inspirational layout for her. As you can see I have used a mix of collections here but they still coordinate so well together. I used two cut files from the Silhouette design store, paint palette and title ‘paint your dreams’.
I used the script writing inspirational paper as my base. I cut a 10×10 inch white cardstock strip and centred this on my base page. I next cut the paint palette and brush as this was the feature of my page. I found a wood grain paper in my CVS 12×12 paper box, once cut I added machine stitching to the edge. I backed it with a marble paper and to add a little something extra I added glitter to the paint blotches. I then added with foam tape off centre onto the white cardstock.
I then added my paint brush and added some small butterfly die cuts under the palette. I found a gorgeous die cut doily and used this to mat my photo. I used some phrase sentiments under my photo and finished off with a camera die cut.I added my title, I used some silver glitter paper for one word to stop it from looking too flat visually. I also added a light splash of black paint to add some contrast.
To finish off my page I added some beautiful die cut flowers and enamel dots. I added some more light splatters of black paint.
Most of these papers and embellishments are no longer in the store but you can recreate this layout with what you have in your CVS stash and don’t forget CVS have digital bundles of older collections too, just print and use.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a fab week!
Hello CVS friends, today I want to share some quick and easy gift boxes and a card I have created using Daydream Collection. With Easter not far away (and I love easter creating way more than Christmas) Daydream was perfect with its beautiful muted colours to create Easter paper crafts.
You can find the milk carton cut file in the Silhouette Design Store. I cut the base of the milk cartons using Stepping Stones paper. I used papers from the 6×8 inch paper stack to cut the tops, using Garden Variety, Up in the Clouds and Sweet Serenity designs.
Next I cut three bunnies again using the 6×8 inch paper stack papers, I embossed the bunnies cut from plain paper but left the floral bunny as it was patterned. I added a small pom pom for the tails. Next I added word sentiments from the Accessory sticker sheet.
I cut three rosettes to attach my bunnies to, this really adds a wow factor. I then added some die cut ephemera to embellish. These will be filled with sweet treats and given as gifts.
I made this super cute Easter card which is so easy to put together and time friendly. I cut a 5×5 inch paper strip using the Garden Variety paper again. I then added Happy Place paper to back the circle wreath die cut piece. Before adding this to the centre of my card I added some sparkley ribbon. I cut another bunny (different style) resized it to fit my card and added off centre in the wreath. I added a pom pom tail and a phrase sentiment from the Accessory Sticker sheet.
I had so much fun making these Easter projects and who needs an Easter collection when you have Daydream collection. Thank you for stopping by today and I will be back soon with a layout using the new Sunkissed collection!
Hi there CVS friends, today I am sharing a layout created with Daydream. I have been wanting to scrap this photo of my daughter out side the Notre-Dame Cathedral since it was almost completely destroyed in a fire. I of course I had to use Daydream and incorporate the rainbow paper!
I am loving that paper tearing and torn strips are back in and now I no longer a novice in scrapbooking I love tearing paper!!!!! I think the up in the clouds is perfect to use as my happy sky in this layout. I next used the sun shine paper on the bottom of my page and lastly used all aflutter paper. Once I had adhered my torn strips I rolled some of the edges back to expose the colour.
I added a floral bunch cascading onto the white base paper, using several flower and leaves from the die cut ephemera pack. I also added a phrase sticker from the accessory sticker sheet.
Paper strips are a great way to tuck elements under as I have here, a butterfly which looks like it is ‘flying out of the paper piece and my place and date journalling.
I matted my photo (which is 4 x 4 inches) on a 4.1 x4.1 inches of stepping stones paper. I added my photo with foam tape to add dimension. I used some phrase sentiment die cut banners to draw your eye to the photo.
Lastly I added my title and used Happy Days from the die cut ephemera pack. I used foam tape to add these, again to create a 3d effect on my page.
Remember tearing paper is not an exact science and you can only roughly measure by eye the paper strip sizes you want, the rest is up to the universe!!!!!!!! Just tear away!
Thank you for stopping by today and I have loved seeing all your Daydream layouts on FB and IG, all amazing.
Hey crafty friends, here is WA my boy was meant to start school on Monday, but on Sunday we were forced into a five day hard lockdown. I was frustrated but he was elated! I am not a fan of back to school layouts so I tried to think outside of the square and come up with a back to school layout with a twist.
I have used the fab Legendary collection with its perfect colours and embellishments!
I have used a fab cut file from Cut to You, this is the second time I have used this back pack cut file, previously I created a girl version. The star confetti background cut file is by Paige Evans/Silhouette design store.
I used the off beat paper as my background paper. I cut my white cardstock paper down to 10×10 inches and then used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the stars. I back this piece with total legend paper to add contrast. I centred this on the off beat paper and added some blue messy machine stitching.
I cut the back pack cut file in black and then used one way and all star papers. I added it to my layout using foam tape. I next added my photo (which I added a text graphic from Pic Monkey), I used explorer paper to mat my photo which I finished off with a flair button
I used the accessory sticker sheet phrase stickers to create my journalling. I used a paint brush stroke clear sticker and finished off adding some enamel dots.
I added another sticker from the accessory sticker sheet so I could add a date space which if you have several odd children (like I do having four!!!!) is a must.
Hey CVS friends, I just had to create one more Christmas layout with the Merry and Bright collection before I finish up with Christmas projects!
I firstly cut a Christmas tree, cut file from the Silhouette design store, I used the off set function to create two different sizes and then layered them. I used the Christmas Tree paper to create my tree. I used Oh What Fun paper as my base paper and splattered gold paint over it.
I found another cute cut file I had to use, reindeer frame which I cut in Seasons Greetings paper and added to my tree with foam tape to add height. I added some holly die cuts and tucked them under the reindeer frames. I added gold thread so the appear to be hanging off the tree like baubles.
I next set about decorating my tree. I tucked some flower die cuts under my tree which I also added with foam tape. I added a flair instead of a Christmas star but added a puffy gold star on the actual tree. I chose two sentiment die cuts and added to the bottom of my tree.
I lastly added another light splatter of gold paint over my whole layout to give it that Christmas sparkle feel! This collection is so beautiful to work with and the colour combinations just gorgeous, it is refreshing to work with a Christmas collection with a twist.
Thank you for stopping by today and see you again soon!
Happy New Year CVS friends! At the beginning of each new year I choose one little word to try and guide what I am striving to achieve (a different version of a New Years resolution started by Ali Edwards). This year I chose the word Progression (not perfection), the anxiety and stress that perfection can cause is now replaced with progression. So here is my layout which is all about my new OLW.
I went back to the beautiful Daydream collection after a month of Christmas scrapping! I have used GardenVariety paper as my background paper because I really can’t get enough of these florals. I add a 10×10 inch white cardstock to the centre and then added some messy machine stitching using a blue thread to help frame it.
I used a cut file to layer on top of the white cardstock, I chose another piece of cardstock which coordinated with the pink hues in the florals. I created a polaroid frame using Sweet Serenity paper, before adhering to my page I created a floral cluster cascading out of the right side of frame using the florals from the die cut ephemera pack.
To finish off this embellishment cluster I added an accessory sticker to my frame, flair and lastly a puffy heart. Next I focused on my title. I cut my word progress using the blue side of Garden Variety paper (Word from Silhouette Design store). I typed ‘not perfection’.
To tie it to the rest of the elements I added a rainbow and flower from the die cut ephemera pack which I added with foam tape and then added the first of the moth die cuts which flows to the circle on my page.
I added moth die cuts around the circle to finish off my page. I also went back and added drops of NUVO jewel drops to the petals and leaves.
Well thats it from me today, thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful week!
Hi all Rachel here! I still can’t believe it is only a few days until Christmas. I have to say I am always disappointed by my Christmas Day photos and never end up with any good enough to scrap and hence why I came up with this layout, a creative way to include lots of photos and journalling all nicely put in envelopes on a layout. I have loved working with the new Merry and Bright collection, it is so easy to create with!
Firstly I cut two envelopes, this scallop envelope from the Silhouette Design store.I used Joy To The World and Jingle All The Way papers for my envelopes. I used Countdown paper as my background paper. I placed the envelopes on a slight angle and over lapping one over the other.
I worked on one envelope at a time, with the left one I added a die cut tree and florals from the Die Cut Ephemera pack from the collection. I tucked under the envelope and added on the actual envelope. Of course I had to add a Gold Puffy Star to the top of my tree! I added a phrase sentiment from the Accessory Sticker Sheet.
On the opposite envelope I added more die cuts, phrase sentiment and one of the gorgeous Flairs. Tucking elements under and over in an embellishment cluster adds visual impact and adds layers to your layout.
The 3×4 inch pocket cards can be used various ways, some of the patterned cards I included as photo mats and others for journalling. You can embellish these of course like tiny layouts.
I added 3 of the die cut baubles hanging from the top of my page, adding machine stitching in the place of ribbon, I added them with foam tape to create dimension, finished off with a gold gem stone on the centres (from my stash).
Here I have added some older Christmas photos, in various sizes in each of the envelopes as an example.
I will use this layout to add some of my Christmas 2020 photos and some memory journalling and all before 2021!
Thank you for stopping by and I wish you all a safe and happy Christmas. See you again in 2021.
Hi CVS friends, with Christmas almost upon us and recently receiving the new Merry & Bright collection I just had to make a mini album in preparation of those Christmas photos.
I only made a 6 pages in this album because to be honest most of my Christmas photos are usually less than average, but I can add the best or highlights!
I used a cut file from the Silhouette Design Store. To protect my album cover I cut one in acetate and used an embossing file (stars) to add texture. I added a pop-pom tassel for that little something extra. I love the coloured O rings you can now get, I chose some teal ones to blend in with the colour schemes of Merry & Bright.
I used the 6×8 inch paper pad for this album, another reason I love 6×8 inch paper pads, the smaller prints are perfect for mini albums and mini albums. I used Season Greetings paper wood grain side to create a thin border and Oh Christmas Tree paper over top. I embellished with florals from the die cut ephemera, a phrase sticker from the Accessory Stickers and finished off adding a flair and puffy gold star.
Here I created a pocket and made a tag. I have used Jingle All the Way paper for the tree page and tag. I added the Santa card from the Oh What Fun paper.
So I could add multiple 2×2 inch photos I added a accordion flap to the page adding another paper element from the Oh What Fun paper.
I added two die cut baubles, a puffy star and finished off with a sprinkle gold paint across the page. I used the Oh Christmas Tree Paper as my base paper.
For my last page which I used Star Bright paper, added a frame die cut and created an embellishment cluster. You will notice I added a machine stitched border around each tree page to add texture and definition.
You could obviously add lots more pages or create double sided pages depending on how many photos you want to add, the good thing about mini albums like this you can make them bulky and they still look great.
Hi CVS friends today I am sharing my first layout using the gorgeous new Christmas collection Merry & Bright.
As most of you know I LOVE cut files and what’s better when one is already cut for you with a beautiful water colour mixed media effect! (large die cut and backing kit) All I did before starting my layout is splattering the page with gold paint.
I love the Christmas Krispy Kreme doughnuts and so I have used this photo to Create a fun layout. My photo size is 4×4 inches. Using the 6×8 inch paper pack I used Star Bright and Oh Christmas Tree papers and cut at 4.2 inches. I angled each mat behind the photo but attached the photo straight with foam tape over the right of the tree.
I tucked under my photo the double heart flair buttons and finished off using two die cut tabs from the ephemera pack.
I created a floral cluster on the left side of the tree, using foam tape of some of the florals to add dimension. I tucked a die cut ticket slightly under the larger flower.
Of course I had to add the happy Father Christmas die cut and created a small embellishment cluster in the lower left corner of my layout, again using foam tape on some of the die cut ephemera.
Lastly I added one of the gold puffy hearts to the top of the tree. I had considered adding some machine stitching but to be honest this cut file kit is just perfect the way it is.
Super quick and super easy layout that still looks fabulous!
Thank you for stopping by today and I will see you again soon with an off the page creation all about Christmas.
Hello CVS friends, Today I have my take on Debra Beer’s layout that Sue and I chose to scrap lift. Here is Debra’s layout!
And here is my take using Daydream collection.
I created two scallop paper strips as the base of my layout, using Stepping Stones and Daisy Days papers (you can either use a hand punch or cut file to do this). I then did a little mixed media (probably as much as I will ever be comfortable in doing!). I used a soft pink and blue as my mixed media colours which coordinate perfectly with the Daydream collection.
I next added my photos, the photo on the left with foam tape to create a 3D effect and the other photo with double sided tape, but before I firmly press and attach I like the option of being able to add elements under the photo.
In keeping with Debra’s layout I added die cut ephemera florals under my photo, also adding a moth with foam tape. On the other side I again added another floral bunch and tucked one of the Puffy Hearts slightly behind my photo.
Instead of using wash tape I used a die cut, row of rainbows from the ephemera pack and finished off using a phrase sentiment from the Daydream Accessory Stickers, which is my title.
I finished off my layout adding a tab at the top of my left photo and instead of a doily I added a circular die cut instead. I also added some clear NUVO crystal drops on leaves, arches of rainbow and centre of photos to create light and shade. I added a light splatter of gold spray, just because I like gold really!!!
I hope I have done justice to Debra’s layout, Sue and I created quite different takes on this lift but that’s because every scrapper is unique I think!
Thank you for stopping by today and later in the month I look forward to sharing my first layout with the new Christmas collection Merry & Bright.
