Unforgettable collection

Hi everyone, it’s Melissa here and I am so happy to be back with you today sharing a layout that I created with the beautiful Unforgettable collection.  I recently used this collection for Throwback Thursday and as I was going through it I realised that I hadn’t yet used the partial wreath paper.  I was recently packing up my craft room (we are moving) and I found this really old photo of myself pregnant with my first baby, who is now 14. My photo is slightly damaged, but it didn’t stop me from scrapbooking it!

I started by fussy cutting out the centre of the wreath, and I adhered the wreath to the blue and white stripped paper.  I backed my photo with some of the papers from the 6 x 8 paper stack, and lightly distressed the edges.  I used dimensional adhesive to lift up the edges of the wreath.

I rotated the wreath so that it was located on the left side of the page, and then I tucked my photo under it.I added more dimensional adhesive under the flowers that overlapped my photo.

I embellished with ‘Die Cut Ephemera’, ‘Accessory Stickers’, ‘Clear Stickers’ and ‘Enamel Dots’.

The Bloom title is from the ‘Foam Title Stickers’ and was so perfect for my photo.

I hope I have inspired you to use the wreath paper from this beautiful collection in a different orientation.

Everyday Stories | Unforgettable collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends,

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new layout focusing on an ‘Everyday’ theme and featuring the gorgeous Unforgettable collection!

When I think of ‘Everyday’ I think of myself with my immediate family – my husband and our 2 sons. It’s not often we get photos together so I take the opportunity when I can! I took a piece of the teal and white stripe paper and trimmed it to measure 8′ x 12′ I then cut it to measure 4′ x 12′ and then cut this into 3 pieces to measure 3′ x 4′ rectangles.

I bent the edges of each piece and adhered them in the centre of the small text patterned paper. I trimmed the small text paper down so that I could mat a pink piece of 12′ x 12′ paper behind the entire layout. I adhered my photo slightly to the left of the layout and in the centre.

On the right of the photo, I added the Everyday sticker from the accessory sticker sheet popping it up using foam dots for dimension. The sticker formed the first part of my page title, the second part of my title is the word ‘Stories’ from the Foam Title Stickers that I placed under my photo. Also on the right I tucked in some floral ephemera, a foam black heart and a die-cut heart and an enamel dot.

On the left I tucked in more ephemera including the camera, some tickets and some more enamel dots. I also added one of the gorgeous flair buttons here too. Lastly I added a few small things including some phrase stickers, dropped a few sprinkles of mist and stamped the date stamp.

Love This | Unforgettable Collection | Melissa Vining

It’s Melissa here and I’m thrilled to be back with a layout I created for Throwback Thursday!  I always love when its my turn to use an older collection, and today I decided to go back to 2019 when life was what we considered normal! I created my layout with the beautiful Unforgettable collection, and I specifically wanted to challenge myself to use a cut apart patterned paper as a full sheet.  The paper I chose to use is ‘Pretty Bits’ and ordinarily I would cut this paper up to use as layers, or use it to back a cut file.  The photos are of my youngest daughter Ava with a friend who my little girls consider to be their older sister!

I used black embroidery thread to stitch between the lines of the different papers and I love how it created a pocket page look, but without the pockets.

I decided to place my two photos on two patterns that were small and repeating.  I used papers from the ‘6×8 Inch Paper Stack’ and distressed the edges.  I also cut out some of the smaller cut aparts from the paper stack because the smaller size was perfect to use as embellishments for my page.

The top left hand part of the paper had a very subtle black floral on white which was perfect for my title.  I used several of the ‘Clear Stickers’ and even layered them to create a mixed media look.  I created my title from two of the ‘Foam Title Stickers’ and placed them directly on top of the clear stickers.  I love how this turned out, and I added a fussy cut butterfly.

For my journalling I used a circular frame from the ‘Die Cut Ephemera’ pack and I glued it onto the striped side of ‘Sprightly’ so that I could use the lines for my hand writing.  I embellished with a ticket from the Die Cut Ephemera, a ‘Flair Button’ and another fussy cut butterfly.

The bottom left had side part of the paper had 4 larger butterflies printed on it.  I fussy cut the same butterflies from another piece of the same paper, and then adhered them by glueing the centres and lifting up the wings and adding dimension.  I also added lots of subtle shimmer to the butteries, and several other features on the layout.

Hi crafty friends and Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful Mum’s out there!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new layout for our Mother’s Day special today. I chose to document a photo of myself and my beautiful Mum using the stunning Unforgettable collection.

I chose a beautiful title cut file design from CUT to YOU and backed the open spaces of the design with different patterned papers from the Unforgettable 6′ x 8′ inch paper stack. Once the cut file was all backed, I added craft foam underneath and then adhered it to the centre of the pretty Garland paper. I trimmed down the Garland paper slightly and then adhered this sheet to the ‘B’ side of the Forget Me Not paper.

 

Underneath the flower in the ‘Love’ word of the cut file, I placed one of the round die-cuts. I also layered a butterfly die-cut on top of this flower. On the other flower, I adhered a flair button that says ‘Love This’. I placed my photo with some layers underneath to the left of my page underneath the ‘Love’ word. I placed an arrow sticker on top of my photo and also a phrase sticker too. On the right of the ‘Love’ word, I added the ‘Everyday’ accessory sticker and some accessory stickers. I love the paper tassels in this collection – they are so cute! I added a pink one poking out from the bottom of the ‘You’ word, I tucked in some die-cuts in this area too.

In the top left area of the cut file, I tucked in some more florals and added a black heart foam heart and a clear sticker heart too. I love the pop of black the foam hearts give the layout. When I create my layouts, I always add the largest things to my page first like my photo, some papers and a title, I then add medium sized embellishments like die-cuts and flair buttons and I finish with the smaller embellishments like stickers and enamel dots.

Good moments | Daydream Collection | Anna Blades

Hi CVS friends!

It’s Anna here with you, sharing my last layout as part of the Design Team. It has been an amazing year and I’ve enjoyed so much working with Cocoa Vanilla collections. I want to thank Zoe for giving me this opportunity. And I hope my projects have inspired you during this month. For today’s layout, I’ve used the beautiful Daydream collection and a cut file from Cut to You.

I started with a watercolor sheet, using dye inks and the plastic technique to create my background. Then, using the same inks, I stamped typed words, because books are the subject of the layout.

The cut file has two books. I backed the one that is open with a paper from the Unforgettable Collection because it reminds me of the pages of a book. I backed the other one with papers from the Daydream 6×8 paper stack.

I placed my picture on top of the open book. My daughter is reading a book to her little cousin, that’s why I decided to use this cut file. I think it’s so sweet. For my title, I used the words “good moments” from the die cut titles.

Finally, I put die cut flowers all around the cut file and the picture. The flowers give a spring and magic look to the page. I also added a cute rainbow, a butterfly, and a little heart.

Like you | Unforgettable Collection | Anna Blades

Hi CVS friends!

It’s Anna here with you again sharing a new layout. This week, the theme of our projects is “sparkle and shine”. I’m not very fond of sequins and glitter, but I do love foil. For today’s page, I’ve used the Unforgettable collection.

I started with white cardstock for my background. Then, I cut a diagonal strip of the Sprightly paper. On both sides of the patterned paper, I put two pieces of washi tape with gold foil.

For my title, I cut a phrase with a metal die from black toner ink cardstock. Then, I ran it through a laminator to cover it with pink foil. I also cut the outline from vellum and placed it on the right side of the page with foam squares to add more dimension.

To fill the spot below the picture and to the left side of the title, I placed some flowers and leaves from the die cut ephemera and a little phrase from the Accessory stickers.

I fussy cut some butterflies, two bigger ones from the Pretty Bits paper, and the rest are from the Lacewing paper. I added a sparkling touch on the wingtips with gold embossing powder. I also added some enamel dots and a couple of hearts from the clear stickers.

The brightness of this layout is very subtle, and it’s quite difficult to photograph the foil, but I hope you can appreciate it a bit.

Living the Dream | Unforgettable Collection | Sophie Delorme

Hello all !

It’s Sophie here with a grid design layout to share, this time with the lovely “Unforgettable” collection !

 

The beautiful “Story Teller” patterned paper was my starting point, as I was inspired by the black pocket card on it for my title. That’s what gave me the idea to create a grid.

I separated my layout in four quadrants and stitched a vertical and a horizontal line that crossed in the center of the page with aqua thread to divide my grid. I then applied watercolors in tones that matched my color scheme on each of the four quadrants.

 

I placed my photo, printed in black and white, on the upper left quadrant. I added many layers behind it; tissue paper, adhesive foam, “Forgive me not” and “Pretty bits” patterned papers. I used a Die Cut Ephemera “Living the Dream” next to my photo and added a beautiful Flair Button.

 

On the upper right, I added adhesive foam behind the Pocket Card and aqua cardstock. I decorated this section with two beautiful Ephemera labels and butterflies.

 

On the left lower quadrant, I selected two pieces of patterned papers: “Sprightly” and “Pretty Bits” and attached them with pink baker’s twine together. I added Ephemeras, Enamel Dots and a sticker from the Accessory Stickers.

 

On the last section of the grid, I used the “Sprightly” and the “Forgive Me Not” papers as my base. I cut out a part of the “Storyteller” paper to write down my journaling and embellished it with flowers, Stickers and Emanel Dots.

 

Lastly, I created a little floral cluster on the base of the grid, tying everything together. Some of the leaves in the cluster were created with watercolor and fussy cut out of whatercolor paper.

I love the result. Working to decorate one section at a time in a grid design is so fun ! It’s also a great way to use many different patterned papers and embellishments without making it look too busy.

SPECIAL LITTLE MOMENTS | UNFORGETTABLE | GWEN WRUCK

Hey Creative Friends, Happy New Year to you all. I’m back on the blog today kicking off the 2021 inspiration with a scrapbook layout share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio. For this page, I thought it would be fun to scrap this black and white photo of myself, taken at the end of 2020 at my local ballet studio.

For this page, I was inspired by the current Inspiration board, in particular, the image with all of the frames in it and the quote that says ‘This is where the fun stuff happens’. Be sure to pop by the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Facebook Community for more details on how to play along.

To begin my page, I backed a cut file from CUT to YOU called ‘Snapshots‘, with pattern papers from the ‘Pretty Bits‘ pattern paper, the ‘Story Teller‘ cut apart sheet and papers from the 6×8 pattern paper pad. I’ve also backed my photo with the pattern paper ‘Lacewing‘ and stitched around the edge for added detail.

I’ve placed my backed cut file centred on the page and added a frame to my background using the ‘Natural Beauty‘ pattern paper.

Now it was time to embellish. For this, I worked with a visual triangle to create three clusters around my page. I’ve chosen elements from the Ephemera Pack, Die Cut Accessory Stickers and a Flair button.

My main focus for creating the clusters was to balance out the colours on the page, especially the pops of black. I’ve also made sure to represent all of the colours in the inspiration board including the soft Apricot/Peach tone you can see below in the butterflies.

Here’s a close up of all the lovely layers of my page.

To finish off my page, I’ve added in some of the Enamel Dots in the two tones of Pink.
