Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new scrapbook layout featuring the gorgeous Sunkissed collection.

I chose a cute boat cut file from CUT to YOU and cut it out from plain white cardstock. I then took papers from the A5 paper stack and backed some of the spaces in the cut file. I chose the multicoloured stripe paper for the bottom section of the boat and chose 4 different papers for the banner. I added one of the pink papers behind the top flag and the smaller scale floral paper behind the florals in the cut file.

Before I adhered down the cut file on to another sheet of plain white cardstock, I added a small amount of mixed media using the Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide with water and smooshing it to replicate water. Once it was dry I adhered the cut file down. I also trimmed down the white cardstock and backed the Sunny Days paper behind and then machine stitched around the edge. The photo I am documenting is of my Mum and I kayaking, it is the perfect photo to use with this collection and cut file.

Underneath my photo I layered some of the 3′ x 4′ pocket cards, I love how these make my photo pop. I added the Our Summer flag at the top near the cut file flag and also the extra banner die-cut all from the ephemera pack. My title ‘Getaway’ is made up of the gorgeous gold glitter foam title stickers and I love how the title looks placed on the edge of the mast of the boat. I added a few Accessory stickers in the phrases to help tell the story, puffy stickers and clear stickers under the boat to replicate water. I also added a wooden epoxy buttons and some of the floral die-cuts from the Floral ephemera pack too.

Summer Sun and Fun | Sunkissed collection | Kylie Kingham.

Hello Cocoa Vanilla fans! It’s Kylie back with you all today with a new layout to share. It’s recently turned Spring here in Australia which has me daydreaming about warm sunshine, flowers and believe it or not Summer! My layout today has been inspired by all of these things as well as me wanting to create with cut files. I have always loved a big title and the cut file I am using for this page is just that. It has been designed by Paige Evans and it became the centre focal point of my page. I couldn’t think of a more perfect collection to use other than the ‘SUNKISSED’ collection with is bright Summery vibe.

Once my cut file was cut out I backed the letters with paper from the A5 paper pack and for the sun I used the ‘SUMMER LIGHTS’ paper which gave a beautiful shaded effect. The ‘BRIGHT SIDE’ paper was used as my background page and I adhered some of the ‘JUST CHILLIN’ paper over the top. A border strip from the ‘FUN IN THE SUN’ paper was added across the lower edge of the ‘JUST CHILLIN’ paper too. My cut file was adhered using foam adhesive squares so that it sat up from the background. Once in place I used a white marker pen to draw a freehand border around the outer edge of the page.

My photo was backed with some white tissue paper for a softer edge. It was adhered to the base of the cut file before I started to create some die cut clusters.

Both floral, die cut clusters have been placed opposite to each other on my page design, which helps give a nice balance to the overall page. I was able to build and create layers amongst each floral die cut by using foam adhesive squares on some. To finish my page I added some of the phrase stickers to the lower right side of my page.

Lazy summer Days | Josefine vd Hoeven | Sunkissed collection

Hello Paperlovers,

Welcome to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog today! So happy to see you It’s Josefine here sharing a new mixed media scrapbook layout with you that I made using the absolutely gorgeous summer collection “Sunkissed” just cant’t get enough of this collection.

For this summer layout I used the pocket page cards the 6×8 paper pad some die-cuts, a wooden button and stickers.The cut file I used is from Cut to you calls ” Lazy summer days” I started with a white sheet of cardstock and start mixing my pink colored distress oxide with a little bit of water and created a big stain in the center of this layout and at the end I splatter with the same color (Kitsch Flamingo)

 

 

I used a 6×8 star design paper sheet and cut it to size in a banner shape. I choose several patterns of pocket page cards and cut them to size and sew them on top of the star design paper using my sewing machine. I placed the two banners in the center of my layout and cut several 6×8 design papers to size and layer them behind the photo. I cut the title “Lazy summer day’s” with my Cricut and colored it with the color “peacock feathers” Distress Oxide and used a blending tool for the ombre effect.

 

I grab several die-cuts, stickers and word strips for decoration. Some die-cuts I sew with gold sewing thread and make clusters on both sides of the banners. At the top of the banners, I use white cotton thread for extra decoration. I sew gold thread through the center of this cutfile and place it under the photo. Finally, I make some white splatters with white acrylic paint for a festive look!

Summer Memories | Josefine vd Hoeven | Sunkissed

Hello crafty Paperlovers, Welcome to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Blog today! It’s Josefine here showing you a new scrapbook layout that I created with the beautiful collection Sunkissed. I am completely in love with this beautiful summer collection. Definitely one of my favorite collections ever!

I love circles layouts and wanted to create a circle layout with this beautiful summer collection. I cut out a circle border from the wood grain design paper of the Sunkissed collection and I cut out a circle from the blue/green colored design paper. Both circles I stitched with white sewing thread. I place these circles in the center of this page. I placed my photo on top of the circles in the middle. Around the edges of the circle I stamp several times with the distress oxide and make some mixed media splatters. The color I used is “broken china”.

I selected some flowers, die-cuts and stickers and make a cluster on both sides of the circle. I used the gold glitter puffy word ” Memories” and placed it under the circle. I also choose an aqua colored Alpha set for the word “Summer”. My title for this layout will be ” Summer memories”.

 

I have decorated different die-cuts with gold sewing thread. On top of the picture I placed some die-cuts and word strips. Of course, I also used a wooden button on this layout. I choose to keep this page clean and simple. Now t’s time to add some white and black acrylic paint splatters and use my brush for this. These splashes make it so festive.

Sweet Summer Days | Sunkissed collection | Sophie Delorme

Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends !

It’s Sophie on the blog today sharing a very summery layout with you !

 

 

I created this page with the lovely Sunkissed collection.

I had the idea of using one of my favorite papers of the collection, ”Just Chillin” on the wood grain side and create a frame on my layout. I cut four strips of this beautiful paper with 45 degre angles on each end to create that frame. I added adhesive foam in the middle of each strip and adhered them together in a square shape. It gives the effect that each strip is curled a little bit, mimicking a wooden frame. I added a few hand stitches with yellow embroidery thread to each corner of the frame, and centered it on the gorgeous “Good Vibrations” paper.

 

My photo is from a typical summer day at home where my dog Fiona likes to jump in the pool endlessly !

I used a thick white cardstock inside the frame and added numerous multicolor watercolor splatters on it.

 

I backed my photo with tissue paper and adhesive foam. I teared a portion of a pocket card to write down my journaling.

My title is from the Sunkissed Glitter Foam Title Stickers.

 

I added beautiful floral embellishements from the Floral Ephemera pack and cut out of the “Growing Wild” patterned paper.

FUN + SUN | SUNKISSED | GWEN WRUCK

Hey Creative Friends, Gwen back on the blog today with another share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I’m using more of their new ‘Sunkissed‘ collection to document a sweet photo of Miss C from a few years back.

To start the page, I’ve backed a cut file, this one from CUT to YOU with pattern papers from the A5 Paper Stack. The smaller prints in the A5 papers are ideal for this and I love how there are a couple of exclusive prints in the pack.

I’ve backed my photo with the ‘Sunny Days‘ pattern paper and used it to create a border around the base of my page. For the background of my layout, I’ve used a piece of pale blue card stock from my stash. I’ve also added here my signature stitching, I just love this detail.

Next, I’ve added my backed cut file onto the layout centred and a little towards the bottom of the page. Then, I’ve placed my photo at the centre bottom. I’ve raised on foam for dimension so it’s now time to embellish.

For the embellishments, I’ve gone with three clusters to create a visual triangle on my page. The main cluster features a sweet rainbow from the ‘Die Cut Ephemera‘ pack and a Sunshine element from the ‘Puffy Sticker pack‘ as well as some floral die cuts from the ‘Floral Ephemera pack‘.

For even more interest on my page, I’ve added in some of the ‘Wooden Buttons‘. I love the texture of these. As I build out the clusters, I’m making sure to have at least one of each of these in each one. I find that when I replicate elements in each of my clusters, it really helps pull the page together.

Here you can see the die cut pieces, a wooden button, puffy sticker and a typed sentiment from the ‘Accessory Sticker Sheet‘. I like to add these stickers with foam tape for added dimension. They really are a great way to round out a page and the sentiments really help to tell the story in the photos.

Together | Sunkissed Layout | Anna Komenda

Hello scrappy Friends. Today I want to share with you project created for the “One product – three ways” theme. Our Sue chose paper from “Sunkissed” collection called “Feelin fine“. I must admit I had a hard time deciding which side I should use. I like both of them – more artsy and colorful brush strokes or dark pink, cute hearts. After few attemps and sitting over the empty paper for a while I finally decided to go with hearts. As it’s quite a solid patter, it works great with cut files. I chose hearts background pattern with a photo of me and my hubby in mind. It can be used in two ways – as an outline or a group of hearts. This is where I was stuck again… Too many choices :) In the end I decided I will use both ideas and divided the pattern in two parts, filling one side of background with an outline and second with the hearts.

I started with coloring my white cardstock base with a light pink mist. Then I glued down the cut file, rotating some of the hearts so the B side of the “Feelin fine” paper would be visible too. Some of the hearts are raised above the surface thanks to the 3D foam squares. I like adding this kind of texture to my projects.

I placed my photo and embellishments on the vertical line where my outline pattern ends and scaterred hearts begin. Area around the picture is embellished with a lot of elements from ephemera pack and flower pack, like palm trees and flowers. I also fussy cut two little rainbows from “Sunny days” paper.

The line between cut file and hearts is completely coveder with varoius elements and runs smoothly from one end to another. I added few small word stickers from sticker sheet turning them into small fishtail tags. Photo I used, even though is “romantic”, was taken during one of our summer travels, hence using “Sunkissed” collection, that matches the story perfectly.

Gold glitter foam title stickers are perfect for… titles, so I used one on my page. I also added few woodies here and there (with quite a heavy heart as it means I will run our ot them soon). Last step was splashing everything with yellow mist, adding this sunny touch to my page.

Other girls from our Team will share with you more ideas on how you can use this pretty paper and I am sure each one will be totally different.

Chill Out | Sunkissed Collection | Melissa Vining

Hello everyone!! Its Melissa here and its well and truely winter here in the south of New Zealand, so I thought it was time to create another summer layout with the gorgeous Sunkissed collection!! This time its an inside photo of my daughter making breakfast, and one of the best things about being on holiday is that everyday is chilled with no time pressure to be anywhere or do anything.  This week we are featuring 3 layouts created with the beautiful “Feelin’ Fine” paper and I chose to use a cut file by Paige Evans called “Corner Doily”.

I backed the cut out doily with white card stock in order to provide a contrast to the busy patterned paper.

Using the patterned paper as a full background meant that this layout had the potential to be very busy.  In order to avoid this I printed my photo as a large square, and backed it with “Fun in the Sun” and a dark blue paper from the “A5 Paper Stack”.    I also used one of the “Pocket Cards” for my journalling.

I embellished with lots of “Floral Ephemera”, and I cut a lot of them in half to get more use from them.

I was really happy to get some of the “Die Cut Ephemera” onto my page, especially the watermelon and orange slice!

I created my title with two of the “Glitter Foam Title Stickers” which were perfect for the theme of my page!!  My final touch was to add some ink splatters in grey and black.

Pool party Days | Sunkissed | Josefine vd Hoeven

Hello crafty Paperlovers,

Welcome to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog! A new day and a new share! It’s Josefine here with a new scrapbook layout for you using the beautiful “Sunkissed Collection” do you like pool parties too?!

For this layout, I start with a white sheet of cardstock. I stamped with a background stamp that already looks like a stain several times with the Distress oxide on the white background. The color I’m using is ” Broken China” when I’m done stamping I make splatters with the distress oxide on my mixed media background. The challenge is; use one paper, three ways with the beautiful design paper “Feelin’ Fine” from the beautiful Sunkissed collection.

I cut the title “Pool Party” with my Cricut Maker and backfilled it with the design paper “Feelin Fine” Check these cute butterflies! I cut the butterflies with my Cricut maker from the design paper ” Feelin Fine” and placed them around the title “Pool party” I cut the design paper to size and placed it behind the photos. I used two photos and placed the small size on top. Between the photos I used vellum.

I placed my photo in the center of the page. I picked out different die-cuts and layered them on the side of the photo. I also used clear stickers on my layout. I placed the clear stickers on acetate and cut them out. I slide them between the design paper and the photo. This gives a great look-through effect. Check this cute clear sticker “days” on this page.

 

 

 

If you placed these clear stickers on acetate you can used them as a charm. You make a hole with your “crop a dile” and with a metal ring you can make a charm. Just perfect for a mini album!

 

I colored the alphas from the cut file with distress oxide. The color I used is “Picked Raspberry” I used my blending tool for this. I attached the alphas with gold sewing thread.I punched stars out from the design paper with a punch and I randomly placed them on my layout.I created splatters with white acrylic paint and used my brush for it.

Vacay Vibes | Sunkissed collection | Kylie Kingham.

Hello everyone! It’s Kylie back with you all with another layout featuring the SUNKISSED collection. I wanted to create a layout fairly simplistic, centred around my photo of a fun Summer’s Day. Whilst I love working with cut files and mixed media, for this layout I wanted to work solely with the beauty of the collection and it’s stunning colour palette.

The FEELING FINE paper is one of my favourites and the perfect back drop against a white background. I added a one inch strip to the bottom of some white cardstock and a 6 inch strip to the top. I cut out the rainbow border from the FUN IN THE SUN  paper to add over the join through the middle of my page.

My photo was trimmed down to 5.75″x 3.75″ so that I could add a bright pink mat card cut to 6″x 4″.This gave it the perfect amount of frame showing behind. From the floral die cut pack I layered several blooms around my photo for balance. Some were added with foam adhesive squares so that they had a dimensional appeal.

I used one of the 3″x 4″pocket cards as a title for my page. It was adhered to some more of the FELLING FINE  paper on the reverse side and cut into a tag. More of the die cuts were also added surrounding the tag as well as a string tie.

To complete my page I added a second title using the clear stickers. I love the burst of colour these have over white and almost look seamless.

I hope my layout today has you feeling all Summery and a little inspired for your own creative time.
