Sunkissed collection

Hello Paperlovers,

Welcome to today’s Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog for some fresh and summery Scrapbook inspiration! I’ve chosen for the collection called “Sunkissed” What a delightful collection, perfect for happy and colorful summer moments. I wanted to document this photo of my daughter traveling around beautiful Bali and the “Sunkissed” collection is a perfect fit. 

 

 

I’m starting with a white piece of cardstock paper as the base of my layout. I’m using a dark blue distress oxide called “faded jeans.” I apply the ink with a damp sponge, dabbing it onto the white cardstock paper until I’m satisfied with the mixed media background. I also splatter some extra blue ink with a brush for a playful effect.

 

 

I choose two pictures , cut them to size, and place a frame between the pictures. I try to match the colors of the design paper with the photo. I position the pictures and the frame in the center of the layout.

 

 

Now it’s time to create clusters, and I select various flower die-cuts for the clusters. I use 3D foam for the clusters to make the flowers stand out beautifully on the blue mixed media background. For the title, “Bali” I use the black and white title chipboard. These match perfectly with the stunning colors in the collection. I place the title under the photo. I further embellish my layout with adorable blue puffy hearts. I fussy cut a few butterflies from the patterned paper and give them a place among the flowers.

Sunny Days | Sunkissed collection | Sophie Delorme

Hello friends !

 

It’s Sophie on the blog today with this rainbow layout to share !

 

 

I used the Sunkissed collection, and focussed on the beautiful rainbow paper named “Bright Side” as the star of my page.

 

I selected matching colour embroidery floss for each ray of the rainbow and added hand stitching on them. I fussy cut around the rainbow, added foam dots on its back and placed it on the right side of a 12×12 thick white cardstock.

 

 

I chose a beautiful summer photo and arranged a big floral cluster around it, adding a few more little rainbows, leaves, and the date.

 

 

My title is from the Sunkissed Clear Stickers sheet.

I love how it turned out ! It’s a simple page but so bright and cheerful, and so easy to create with such a colourful collection !

Life is Good | Sunkissed collection | Sophie Delorme

Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends!

 

It’s Sophie with you today and I am thrilled to share my layout inspired by the May challenge!

 

 

The challenge this month is called “Flower Frenzy”: Using flowers as the main design element of a layout… The more the better…!

 

I used the Sunkissed collection for this colorful page and went with big floral clusters all around my black and white photo.

 

I drew a few flowers on three A5 patterned papers, cut them out and hand stitched on each petal. They served as a background for the flowers and leaves that are from the Sunkissed floral ephemera pack.  It adds texture and depth to the clusters, and even though it’s very bold and colorful, it doesn’t compete with the black and white photo, that still stays the star of the page.

 

 

I teared a big chunk of the “Feelin’ Fine” paper and placed it on the upper part of the layout. I fussy cut a few clouds out of the “Just Chillin’” paper and used some Clear Stickers for my title.

It’s a very simple page with only beautiful florals as embellishments, and I love it!!

Sunshine & Good Times | Mixed collections | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone, it’s Sue Plumb here to share another design team project with you. Today’s mixed media layout I am sharing was created to document a happy snap that was taken while we were out at a theme park celebrating my boys’ 11th birthday. This layout is part of a multi-page spread for my album that includes both 12×12″ and pocket pages. For this one I decided to use a mix of collections including Happy Days, Sunkissed, No Limits, and there’s even a little bit of You Rock from waaay back thrown in.

I began this page with white cardstock and some dark grey acrylic paint, which I applied randomly with a small brayer. You will often see this technique appearing on my pages, as the paint not only helps to define the focal area of the page, but in this case, the dark colour helps the brights to pop. I also used a red Distress Oxide and a stencil to add some extra detail over the top.

I then began the construction of my page with the Summer Lights paper from Sunkissed. I tore a couple of pieces and then flipped one over to show the reverse print, then layered them on top of one another. I also added a  yellow paper doily and some frayed gauze to the stack, and matted my photo with some black and white striped tissue paper before mounting on top.

I then started on my embellishments, beginning with the rad sticker from the You Rock Accessory Sticker sheet in the corner of my photo and the tab behind it from the No Limits Accessory Sticker sheet which was stamped with the date. Alongside my photo I used the sunshine sticker from the Sunkissed Accessory Sticker sheet as the first part of my page title, and I also added the white ampersand which was from a set of CVS alpha stickers from long ago. The small chipboard arrow was from the You Rock Chipboard Stickers.

To the right of the photo I also added a handmade star embellishments from my stash, which I topped with one of the Sunkissed Wood Epoxy Buttons. The gold wire was from my stash and I added a few twisted pieces around my page and secured them with staples.

The large stars that I scattered around my page were fussy cut from the Starshine paper from the You Rock collection. The second part of my title, good times uses the Happy Days Chipboard Titles. I finished off my page with some brief handwritten journalling and stamped phrases.

Favourites of 2023 | Michelle Stokes

Hey Crafty friends, its Michelle here today with a look back at my favourite layouts created for Cocoa Vanilla Studio this past year. I think in total I’ve made 30+ creations using the wonderful collections of CVS this year, so it was a little tricky to narrow it down to just a few favourites, but here we go..

Lets begin with this magical village creation from March using These Days Collection
I loved creating the rows of houses to build a village. All fussy cut from the Neighbourhood paper. SO much fun!

Next up was this beauty, created back in February  using the Sunkissed Collection and inspired by that months Mood Board Challenge. The bright colours of this collection are still by far my most favourite of all time.

Another rainbow assortment of patterns and colour created in June using the Happy Days Collection. Love me some colour blocking (if thats what you call it) on a layout. Love how this all came together in one magical colour explosion

Lastly one of my more recent layouts in November using the Heart & Home Collection and our sweet fur babies. Another rainbow assortment of patterns and colour, but a little less in your face. The perfect mix of pattern and florals with a mixed font title to finish it off.

Summer fun | Sunkissed Layout | Anna Komenda

Hello everyone! Summer is in full swing in Europe and we are having a lot of sun and warmth. Sometimes even too much for my liking. However, it’s still better than being constantly cold, right? We have a perfect theme for this week over CVS blog and it’s FUN IN THE SUN. And you know I love all the colorful, summer collections and projects! I reached for an older “Sunkissed” collection as it seemed perfect for this job. I still have plenty of papers and some embellishments and I need to squeeze it as much as possible. I think I will have to make a “leftover album” too to finish it of.

I picked a navy paper called “Bright side” and cut a decorative circle with words using my digital die cutting machine. It says “summer fun” all around! I was looking for a perfect background paper but all the ones I got left didn’t match so I took a white cardstock and two Distress Oxide inks: Picked raspberry and Salty ocean and created ombre, circlular effect. My inspiration for the colors came from a swimsuit of my daughter. I didn’t place the circle direclty in the middle, setting it off to one of the corners.

I scrapbooked joyful photos of my daughters riding a waterslide during one of our summer holidays. They were running up and down to slide as many times as possible. They even held a competition who will slide faster. And I was there with the camera as good mamarazzi! My Ephemera Pack is already half empty but I still managed to find two swimsuits in matching colors! Lucky me! I also searched for flowers in pink and blue in my Floral Ephemera Pack.

I also have few Puffy Stickers left so I added them around the photos. The same with Wood Epoxy Button!

This collection also includes beautiful Clear Stickers and I used few of them to embellish the background. You need to be careful with using them of colorful backgrounds as they may change the color, influenced by the one dehind them.

I had so much fun making this page and I love this navy, pink and blue color palette! I must reach for it more often.

Days Like These | Happy Days & Sunkissed | Kellie Moore

Hey everyone and welcome back for another share from me combining the new ‘Happy Days’ collection mixed with the older ‘Sunkissed’ collection. These two lines combine beautifully, so if you have them both, have a go and mxing them together! Here is my page…

My jumping off point was the rainbow paper from Happy Days called ‘Sunshine Lollipops’. I cut two 2 inch strips and adhered them down to each side of my page. To add some interest I also tore some of the ‘Feel Good‘ paper and had it popping out from underneath.

I have 2 photos on my page which I double matted using papers from the A5 paper stack from the Sunkissed collection.

Next, I worked on my title. I used a cutfile from Peartree Cutfiles. Instead of backing it with patterned papers I decided to use my distress oxides in matching colours to create an ombre effect.. I love how this turned out. Backing the cutfile onto some black cardstock really makes the title pop off the page. I also added some blue oxide behind my title.

Once I decided where I wanted my photos to go, the white cardstock needed some colour so I used a stencil to add some yellow suns to my page.

All of my embellishments come from the Sunkissed collection.

Next to the left photo I added a palm tree and flip flops from the ephemera pack and a starfish puffy sticker. On the bottom right there is a pineapple and flower puffy sticker.

Above my photos I have used a cloud, rainbow and word tab from the ephemera pack and a sticker from the Accessory Sticker Sheet.

To finish my page, I have added some heart puffy stickers and some of the word phrases from the Accessory Sticker Sheet.

Happy Days | Sunkissed | Josefine Van der Hoeven

Hello Paperlovers,

It’s time for new inspiration from the beautiful and sunny ” Sunkissed” collection. I’m so happy to see you back on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog today. We are heading into spring and with the sunny weather coming up I couldn’t resist making a sunny layout with a beautiful summer memory.

For this layout, I challenged myself to use only pocket page cards, die-cuts (flower), stickers, word strips, puffy stickers and the gold glitter foam titles. I created six clusters on my layout. I started with the two flower clusters. I placed these diagonally across from each other. I folded the flowers a bit so that they have a little bit more dimension on the layout.

 

I stitched the two rainbow die-cuts on top of each other with light blue sewing thread. I placed these next to the flower cluster on the top right. I choose three colorful hearts and fold them in the middle then I placed the hearts playfully around the rainbow. I love the beautiful, fun and playful text on the pocket page cards. I choose a pocketpage card tear it a little at the top and stitch a tab on the side with blue sewing thread. I decorate the pocketpage card with a die-cut and a puffy sunglasses.

 

I absolutely love the cute little “Sunkissed” puffy stickers. I even used them on the flower clusters. I tried to create a little bit of the tropical vibe.  I cut a pocket page card to size and placed it behind the black and white photo of me and my hubby. I decorated the photo with a tiny heart and a colorful word die-cut. On the right side of the photo, I playfully stitched a view labels and word strips together with light bleu sewing thread. I playfully glued the labels on my layout and decorated them with three gold hearts.

 

In the center of the layout, I left extra space for the title. The awesome gold glitter title words fit perfectly on my sunny and tropical layout. I choose for the title “Happy Days” This title and of course the white gesso splatters make my layout complete.

Splash zone | Sunkissed Layout | Anna Komenda

Hello crafty Friends! Welcome on the last day of February. For some of you it means summer is coming to an end and for some more lucky (like me :) ) it means spring is getting closer and closer ending up our winter misery. I so miss the warmth, the sun and the colors and can’t wait for all of this to come. In the meantime I am taking some energy bites by reliving our last year summer adventures. I found this fun series of photos of my younger daughter Maja sliding the slide in waterpark and decided to scrapbook them using my all time favorite “Sunkissed” collection.

I started with a white background papers and splashed it with two shaded of blue mists. When I was waiting for it to dry, I took one of the pattern papers called “Good vibrations” and cut out my title using digital die cutting machine. When it was done, I added a layer of foam adhesive to make it pop from the background.

Each of five photos is backed with a different patter paper from A5 Paper Stack. I just love this product as I do not need to cut into whole 12*12 paper to get only a piece of it. What is even better – patterns in A5 Paper Stack are slightly different than in 12*12 Paper Pack! So you have even more colors and patterns to choose from.

After adding title and photos, I started embellishing everything using my leftover Ephemera Pieces (I am running really low on them). I found matching bathing suit, umbrella, rainbow and few word strips. As you can see, I didn’t spend much time on embellishing this page. Big title and multiply photos make it quite busy already.

When I was done with adding embellishments, I noticed that page isn’t balanced well with busy bottom part and empty space on the top. I was wondering what to do, and then idea strucked me. As this page is abour water splashing on the slide, I can add a dripping water! I took “Sunny days” paper and hand cut a row of “water” with tiny little droplets.

I was crossing my fingers it doesn’t look scarry, more like a slime on halloween page, but it turned out OK. I took white gel pen and added a bit of shine to the title and strip of water. The page was done! I am happy how it turned out and that another memory has beed scrapbooked!

Fun + Sun | Sunkissed collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new Summer themed layout featuring the gorgeous Sunkissed collection.

Who doesn’t love a cute kid in an even cuter swimming costume right? This photo is of my youngest niece and I just love it! The Sunkissed collection was the perfect collection to document this photo.

I decided on the ‘B’ side of the Bright Side paper for my background, trimmed it down and adhered it to a plain sheet of white cardstock. I then chose a title cut file from CUT to YOU, cut that out from white cardstock and then backed it with the Summer Lights patterned paper. Once the cut file title was backed, I added craft foam to the underside and and then adhered it to the top of the page, I did leave the S and U in the word sun with adhesive though as I knew I wanted to tuck in the sun behind the letters. To do this, I fussy cut out the sun from the Fun in the Sun patterned paper, I tucked it behind the letters and then bent up the edges to add some texture to my page.

On top of the title, I took some of the pretty florals from the Floral Ephemera Pack and adhered them in their corresponding colours, so the pink one is layered on top of the pink section in the patterned paper and the yellow flower is on the yellow paper. I cut out another of the journal cards from the Fun in the Sun patterned paper tucking it in behind the photo. I love how this journal card added some colour against the dark background and bought out the colours in the photo a little more. I adhered the photo on top using craft foam to add some dimension nd create some depth and shadows on my page. I also cut out the phrase from the same paper that says ‘Love This’ and layered it over the journal card. I also took one of the gorgeous gold glitter foam titles and placed it above the ‘Love This’ phrase.

On the right hand side of the photo, I took that super cute swimsuit die-cut, added craft foam underneath and adhered it right next to the photo. I took some floral and leaf pieces from the floral ephemera pack and tucked a few in here and there to add some extra interest to the page. I also took some of the phrase stickers from the Accessory sticker sheet and placed these around the page to help tell the story. I added a few of the gorgeous puffy hearts and lastly stamped the date stamp and sprinkled some drops of white mist around.
