Storyteller floral ephemera

Hello CVS friends! I wish I would journal more on my layouts, using my own handwriting but I struggle and therefore using other means to journal. Today I am sharing a rainbow fun layout when I have used Storyteller collection and the accessory stickers to add my journalling.

This double rainbow cut file is from the Silhouette Design store.

I have used the curve of the rainbow cut file to add my accessory stickers/journalling. I chose my phrases and then cut them as I needed to fit the curve. I know this is cheating but it does look good!!! I used Oh My Heart paper, using both sides to create my rainbow. You will see that I have used foam tape on some of the rainbow pieces so it didn’t look ‘flat’. Once I had done this I added accessory stickers on thee top curve to create my journalling. I chose a patterned background paper using Little Love paper.

Here I added the Storyteller puffy sticker hearts adding them to the hearts on the paper pieces of the rainbow. On the top rainbow I added a butterfly Wood Epoxy Button. Adding these embellishments prevents your layout looking ‘flat’ and adds texture.

I used Ditsy Daisy paper for my title HAPPY. I also added some of the letters with foam tape. I used the smaller pattern of this paper from the A5 paper pad which is perfect when you are creating smaller elements.

I created a small floral embellishment cluster using the floral die cut ephemera pack, just because I like flowers really but keeping in mind this layout is ‘busy’ in patterns and colours so not wanting to over do it.

I matted my 4×4 inch photo and added to the lower right of my page with foam tape, tucking under a banner tab to the top and then a phrase sentiment from the die cut ephemera under my photo. A black and white photo against these colours/patterns really pops.

This is a simple but fun layout to create. I love the font of the accessory sticker words/phrases and they really do work well on this layout as my storytelling of my photo.

The Wait | Sophie Delorme | Storyteller collection

Sophie here and a cute layout to share with you!

 

I used the Storyteller collection to document this lovely photo of my dog Fiona waiting for her very best friend to arrive!

This month’s theme is “Tell a story”, and that was my focus on this page as I highlighted my cute little story by printing it on a Pocket Card and framing it with one of the frames included in the Storyteller Ephemera pack. Have you notice that it seems like Fiona is looking at the frame? That’s why I placed the journaling frame on the upper left side of the page.

I used my favourite paper of the collection “Brighter Days”, cut it into a big scalloped border and placed it on the right side of the page, adding a zig zag stitch in matching thread between each stripe.

 

I stamped the letters for my title with an alphabet stamp from my stash for the words “The Wait” and added the “Story” Chipboard sticker to complete my title.

Then, I embellished the page with beautiful floral die cuts and butterflies. I added two Wood Epoxy Buttons and a few Nuvo Drop dots as the finishing touch.

As you see, focussing on a story doesn’t necessarily have to occupy a lot of space on a layout. Presenting it as a focus point, or even like an embellishment, will guide the eye easily towards it and make it stand out beautifully!

So Sweet | Storyteller | Rachel Lowe

Hello CVS friends here is my second layout using the beautiful Storyteller collection. The star of my layout is my rescue cat who brings so much love and joy to our home!

The circle heart cut file can be found in the Silhouette Design Store. As I cut it in white it blends perfectly into the white base paper. I used papers from the A5 Storyteller paper pad to cut the hearts and I used five different colours/patterns. I cut some extra ones so I could layer up some of the heart to create dimension, I have not used any of my 12×12 inch papers here.

I cut my photo to fill the circle centre, a 6×4 inch landscape photo fits perfectly. I next added my title using the foam title stickers, slightly curving it to the circle shape. When you have a page that has a significant amount of white, using black is a wonderful contrast and makes your title pop!

I next set about creating a floral cluster under my photo using the floral ephemera pack. So your floral bunch doesn’t end up looking ‘flat’, layer them and some add foam tape and then go back and tuck in leaves and sprigs. Again I followed the shape the photo centre circle.

 

I created a smaller embellishment cluster using the die cut ephemera pack, wood epoxy buttons and chipboard. Again layer your embellishments, here I added the camera with foam tape, tucked under a chipboard butterfly and layered over a chipboard sentiment, finished off with a wood epoxy button.

Lastly I went back and added some more butterflies, wood epoxy button and a phrase sentiment die cut. The colours of Storyteller go perfectly with the colours of my photo. I love how this turned out and after the loss of two cats in the last year I am focusing on taking more photos of my pets.
