Hey Cocoa Vanilla friends!

It’s Sophie here!! Wow! It’s been a long time!

I am so happy to be here today with a brand new layout to share with you!

I used the Joyful collection for this page, paired with two cut files that I bought on the Silhouette Studio store. The cake stand is from Paige Evans and the title is from Jenny Highsmith.

I hand draw an uneven scalloped border on white cardstock and cut it with scissors. I centered the cardstock on the Advent patterned paper and stitched some French knots on it.

I backed the cake stand with different patterned papers from the Joyful collection, and used velum paper for the glass bell.

I printed my photo in black and white as the cake that I backed didn’t match de colors of the collection at all! It’s a good way to use whatever photo you want for a page, and softens the overall look.

I fussy cut plenty of beautiful florals out of the ‘Tis The Season paper, added Wood Buttons, a few labels and beautiful gold stars to finish it up!

I love the result! This collection is one of my favorites from Cocoa Vanilla! It’s a Christmas collection, but as you can see here, you sure can use it for any other occasion!

Hey Cocoa Vanilla friends!

It’s Sophie on the blog today with a new layout to share!

I used the beautiful Christmas collection “Joyful” for my page.

I wanted to use this cute cut file from Nic Squirrell that I bought on the Silhouette Studio store a while ago. I cut it on white cardstock and backed it with several patterned papers from the collection.

Before adhering it to my background cardstock, I created a mixed media background with pinks and gold from different inks from my stash. I also added white splatters. I let everything dry completely and added my cut file and black and white photo, both mounted on adhesive foam, on top of it.

I grounded everything with two pieces of teared patterned papers that I stitched down with gold thread.

I printed my title with alphabet stamps from my stash, and decorated around my photo and food mixer cut file with fussy cut stars and floral die cuts, all from the same collection.

Hey Cocoa Vanilla friends!

It’s Sophie here and I am so exciting to share this new layout with you!

This week’s theme is all about florals! Heaven!!! It clearly is my all-time favorite embellishment!

I used the beautiful These Days collection for my page.

I decided to do three cascades of flowers around my black and white photo.

I fixed three white embroidery threads of different lengths with a brad on a thick white cardstock. I punched tiny holes on each flower that I planned to use. They come from the Floral Ephemera pack and some are also fussy cut out of the “Home Grown” patterned paper.

I strung the flowers on the threads in descending order to create the cascades and fixed each of them with adhesive to make sure that they stay in place.

I added many tiny flowers and leaves scattered around the cascades as well.

I used a simple title cut out of “The Good Life” paper.

I placed a strip of the “Pretty Posies” paper and a scalloped strip of white cardstock at the base of the layout to ground everything, and handwrote my journaling.

This was fun to make!! And although it might look sophisticated, it was a very simple way to highlight the beauty of these pretty florals!

You Make Me Smile | Storyteller collection | Sophie Delorme

Hey Cocoa Vanilla friends!

It’s Sophie here and I have a new layout to share! I used the Storyteller collection for this autumnal page of my children and doggies going to the pumpkin patch!

I used a thick white cardstock for my background and teared a few different patterned papers to ground my photo. I printed the photo in black and white, mounted it on tissue paper and foam adhesive, and centered it on my page.

My title is from the beautiful Foam Title Stickers.

I created a little pumpkin with a few papers from the A5 paper stack and machine stitched on it for more texture.

I handwrote my journaling, embellished around the photo with fussy cut flowers and die cuts from the Floral Ephemera pack, placed a few stickers from the Accessory Stickers and added white Nuvo Drops as the finishing touch.

Oh Lovely Times | Daydream collection | Sophie Delorme

Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends !

It’s Sophie with you on the blog today with this cute layout to share !

For this Throwback Thursday page, I used the beautiful Daydream collection

I selected 4 of my favorite patterned papers: Sun Shower, Daisy Days,Happy Place and Garden Variety. I applied Distress Oxide inks directly on my white background watercolor cardstock in four vertical lines. I added water and colored splatters as well, and let everything dry.

I cut four strips of my selected papers that are of different lenghts and about 2 inches wide. I curled the top and bottom of each paper and aligned them in a horizontal line. I inserted a grey ribbon inside the curled top of each strip and tied a bow on the right and left side of the four aligned papers.

I printed my photo in black and white. It adds a little retro feel to the page…!

I used the Daydream Die Cut Title words for my title, and added beautiful fussy cut and die cut flowers to embellish around my photo.

I cut a rectangle out of white cardstock to write down my journalign and placed it on the Sun Shower strip, on the left side of the photo.

Finally, I added a few Accessory Stickers, two die cut butterflies and a few scattered sequins as the finishing touch.

I will never get tired of using this gorgeous collection ! My design is very easy to scraplift, and it is a simple way to use many different patterned papers on a page.

SWEET HEART | Sophie Delorme | Storyteller collection

Hey friends!

Sophie back with you on the blog today with a new layout to share!

I used the Storyteller collection for my page.

I cut a thick white cardstock 9,5 x 12 inches and backed it with the beautiful «Oh My Heart» 12×12 paper and added two strips of the «Story Time» paper. I machine stitched on each lateral side of the white cardstock.

I picked a beautiful big photo of our new puppy Farine, resting outside under the sun, mounted it on tissue paper and foam adhesive, and centered it on the upper portion of the page.

I cut a navy-blue rectangle out of the Storyteller A5 Paper Stack and placed it centered on the lower part of the page. I added two layers of patterned paper as well and ruffled up their edges.

I created a colored rectangle on Word and selected the white color for my journaling. I printed it on white cardstock, cut it into strips and placed the strips on the lower rectangle with foam adhesive.

My title is from the gorgeous Foam Title Stickers.

I embellished my page by creating two floral clusters on the right upper corner of the photo and left lower corner of journaling rectangle. I used the Floral Ephemera pack, the Die Cut Ephemera pack, a few Wood Epoxy Buttons and Puffy Stickers, all from the Storyteller collection.

This layout is really easy to scraplift. It’s a great way to use many patterned papers (there are 5 different ones on this page!) without making the page look too busy. And what do you think of those journaling strips ? Isn’t it cool to write in white on a coloured rectangle ? The possibilities are endless !!

The Wait | Sophie Delorme | Storyteller collection

Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends!

Sophie here and a cute layout to share with you!

I used the Storyteller collection to document this lovely photo of my dog Fiona waiting for her very best friend to arrive!

This month’s theme is “Tell a story”, and that was my focus on this page as I highlighted my cute little story by printing it on a Pocket Card and framing it with one of the frames included in the Storyteller Ephemera pack. Have you notice that it seems like Fiona is looking at the frame? That’s why I placed the journaling frame on the upper left side of the page.

I used my favourite paper of the collection “Brighter Days”, cut it into a big scalloped border and placed it on the right side of the page, adding a zig zag stitch in matching thread between each stripe.

I stamped the letters for my title with an alphabet stamp from my stash for the words “The Wait” and added the “Story” Chipboard sticker to complete my title.

Then, I embellished the page with beautiful floral die cuts and butterflies. I added two Wood Epoxy Buttons and a few Nuvo Drop dots as the finishing touch.

As you see, focussing on a story doesn’t necessarily have to occupy a lot of space on a layout. Presenting it as a focus point, or even like an embellishment, will guide the eye easily towards it and make it stand out beautifully!

Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends!

It’s Sophie on the blog today and I am happy to share a brand-new page created with the Storyteller collection.

I used two cut files for this layout. They are designed by Paige Evans.

I used a thick white cardstock for my background. I backed a few of the clouds with a blue patterned paper from the A5 Paper Stack. I added a little bit of white gesso on some areas to create a more faded and fluffier look.

I placed the clouds on the upper part of the page, mounted on foam adhesive.

I backed the little houses cut file with many different patterned papers, again from the A5 Paper Stack and added a few white scalloped borders created with a border punch.

I also created a shaker heart on the middle bigger house and used some coral sequins from my stash.

I used a colored photo of my daughter Sabrina watering the garden with the “help” of our two dogs…

My title comes from the Foam Title Stickers pack.

I wrote down my journaling on a fussy cut piece of patterned paper and embellished around the shaker heart, journaling and photo with bits and pieces from the Die Cut Ephemera pack. I scattered a few Puffy Sticker Hearts as the finishing touch.

Cool Catch | Legendary collection | Sophie Delorme

Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends!

It’s Sophie on the blog today for Throwback Thursday!

I used the Legendary collection for this page!

I wanted to document a little fishing trip that my son had a few weeks ago. I had the idea to use cute fish cut files from Just Nick Studio to help me with my theme.

I started with a thick white 8,5×11” cardstock and used many mixed media products to create beautiful shades of blue to mimic the sea. I backed the fish cut files with different patterned papers from the Legendary collection, mounted them on foam adhesive and placed them on my blue mixed media background.

I machine stitched around the edges of the 8,5×11 cardstock and backed it with a green cardstock before adhering it to the beautiful “Wild One” rainbow paper.

I added a few layers of papers and tissue paper behind my photo and placed it on the right side of the layout.

My title comes from the Legendary Die Cut Titles, mixed with some letters stamped with an alphabet stamp from my stash.

I decorated the page with a few embellishments from the Legendary Die Cut Ephemera pack, a flair button, plenty of white acrylic splatters and some sequins from my stash.

Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends!

It’s Sophie here and I am so excited to share my very first page created with the brand-new Storyteller collection!!

Where to start?? I am sure you know the feeling of wanting to hoard every little thing of a new collection and having a hard time choosing and actually using some of the beautiful goodies from it… Well, it definitely was a struggle for me here!!

I used the striped paper from the A5 Paper Stack and used a piece of it on the upper and lower part of the page. I cut between the colored stripes and curled some in different lengths on the top part of the page, and applied watercolor paint on thick white cardstock in different colors matching the stripes just underneath them.
