Hello scrappy friends. It’s Kylie back with you all today and I have a brand new layout to share! I’ve still been catching up on my sons album so there couldn’t be a more perfect collection to use than the new ‘Legendary’ collection.For this layout I really wanted to combine lots of colour as well as build dimension with lots of layers.

I began by adding some randomly cut strips of various papers, that have had all the edges distressed. I had no set mind map for this, each were layered over each other until I was happy with the balance of their positioning.A decorative border piece was also added to the right side of my layout vertically. A decorative border punch from my stash help created the ‘chain’ effect.

A lot of co-ordinating papers were selected and cut down to support my photo.The edges were again distressed a little for effect and I used another border punch to help make some look like torn notebook pages.Foam tape was used to build these layers behind my photo and I really liked the effect it gave.

Once I was happy with how everything was sitting I added in some of the fun die cuts.For colour, I also added some of the adhesive enamel dots to finish.

Adventure | Legendary Collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi Cocoa Vanilla friends,

It’s Tarrah McLean back with you today to share my second layout using the awesome Legendary collection! Having 2 sons and a hubby, I get so excited when the boy collections are released! It makes it so easy to create pages about the boys with all this amazing product!

As you can see I stuck with a sort of mono tone colour scheme for this layout, pulling out pieces that were blue, grey and black.

For this layout I chose one of the muted background papers to begin my page with and then I added the dark blue paper behind to lift it and act as a frame for the entire page. The photo I have chosen to document, is one of my youngest son when we last traveled 3 years ago, there are lots of exploring references in this collection so this was the perfect photo! I matted my photo in one of the papers from the large 12′ x 12′ cut out sheet and adhered it flat the background in the centre, only adding adhesive to the centre and top and bottom of the under side of the photo. This allowed me tuck in those die-cut pieces either side of the photo with ease.

My title is one of the awesome cardstock titles and I added foam dots under this to pop it up at the bottom of my photo, I also layered one of the accessory phrase stickers over the top of the title. I absolutely adore that bear face die-cut so that had to make it on to this page! He looks super cute just above the title on the left overlapping on to my photo. Some more die-cuts were added including the mountains, the stars, hot air balloon, Limited Edition ticket, compass and Stay Wild banner at the top. Some of the stars are popped up using foam dots, I love how this creates shadows and height on my page.

Under the title I tucked in the round compass die cut and added a navy enamel dot to the centre, I also tucked in one of the tabs from the accessory sticker sheet and the large grey star here too. The ‘Epic’ clear sticker was also added here to enhance the adventure theme. I added a few more of the navy enamel dots around my page and also one of the gorgeous flair buttons. I chose the one with the mountains so that it could be layered over the mountain die-cut on the right. Lastly a few more accessory phrase stickers were added and some black mist splatters to finish off.

Incredible adventure | Legendary | Anna Komenda

Hello Cocoa Vanilla fans. It’s Anna here with fresh from the oven page. I got my stash of brand new “Legendary” collection and I knew I had to use it right away. You know I am a mom of two girls, big fan of flowers and pink, but Cocoa Vanilla masculine lines are always so colorful that I would want them anyway. “Legendary” line is also perfect for all your outdoor adventures and this it the way I decided to use it first. I am planning some mini album with my oldest, furry child, who is a good boy but I needed a warm up first.

I was very inspired by the paper with a map pattern “Outdoors type”. Because let’s be honest – what can be better as a background for travel page? The problem is that I love the B side too… Such a pretty wooden pattern. So I combined them both :) They look amazing with my photos taken in Tatry mountains during our first (me and hubby) trip as a couple. It was time before fancy cameras and I do not have many decent photos from that time. I managed to pick few when we were reaching a high peak using a cable car. Landscape from above looked amazing that day.

I picked some ephemera pieces that may fit the travel theme and gathered then under the photos. I also added a title using a word from “Die cut titles”. This is such an amazing product and it makes adding titles so easy. You can use words separately or build longer sentences.

I also have an idea for a very simple embellishment – add little wooden sticks to the flags included into ephemera pack and you will have some dimensional element to add to your projects. I placed my flags over the mountains silhouettes.

I finished my page adding date stamp, few stars and enamel dots. Did you noticed that they are back to the CVS products range? “Unforgettable” collection had them and this line also has matching ones. I love this product and I am so happy to see it back.

Cool Dude | Legendary | Kylie Kingham.

Hello sweet friends, it’s Kylie with you all today with a brand new project to share. The new ‘Legendary’ collection arrived a short time ago on my doorstep and I could not wait to get creating some more scrap pages for my son. As always it has the yummiest colour palette and the embellishments are perfect for the boys in your life. I couldn’t resist and have created a double page layout.

I really love creating double page layouts! They are particularly good if you have a series of photos you would like to scrapbook all together. For me personally, I find these types of layouts come together quicker than a single page, single photo layout. I love to fill the pages with as much detail as possible to help preserve the story. For this double page design I have printed my photos to full size- 6″x 4″ and backed them with the ALL STAR paper, for a small border.

I have an old wave trimmer board in my craft stash. This was used to cut the wave edges in my background pages. ( I have used the ONE WAY, OFFBEAT and ALL STAR papers on my backgrounds.) It creates a fun effect when layered over each other. This could still easily be achieved if you don’t have a similar tool simply by sketching a wave line first before cutting.

Foam tape was used to adhere my images in place so that they sat up from the background a little, adding dimension to my pages. I used a lot of the different coloured stars from the die cut pack to add in behind my images as well as some of the larger stars also. The Deer head and Bear die cuts were SO cute, I couldn’t resist adding these to each lower corner.

To finish my pages I added some of the die cut titles. There are so many words in each pack and it’s fun putting together a title that works for your pages. I’ve also added some sub title phrases from the sticker sheet. I love how it came together to look like a little journaling.

Cool Dude | Legendary Collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends,

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am excited to be sharing my first layout using the AWESOME Legendary collection!

As the mother of 2 boys and hubby, I am slightly outvoted in my house and love all the boy collections to document their antics with! The Legendary collection is absolutely perfect for their pages, on this page I have documented a photo of my handsome youngest son hanging out at the shops one day!One of my favourite papers from the collection is the rainbow one called ‘Wild One’, I love how it is in a diagonal design! I trimmed it down slightly and added it to the ‘Explorer’ paper, I like the navy as a mat for the page. I then cut out a diagonal triangle cut file design from The Cut Shoppe from white cardstock and placed it over the top of the paper. I love how the white breaks up some of the rainbow paper. I machine stitched around the outside edge of the layout.

The large stars in the ephemera pack have a line drawn on them so they were perfect to machine stitch, see the detail on 2 of the larger stars in the photo below. I matted my photo using the wood grain frame die-cut and one of the small cut out papers from the ‘Total Legend’ paper, I also stapled one of banner die-cuts to the top left corner of my photo. I adhered the largest star in the top left corner and the smaller one in the bottom right corner and then adhered my photo over the top.

The Die-Cut title pack are awesome and I love the font of these! I chose the words ‘Cool Dude’ for my title and popped it up with pop dots underneath and placed to the right of my photo. I took lots of the coloured stars from the die-cut pack and popped them up in rainbow fashion like the paper. I love the height and shadows this creates! I also added one of the awesome flair buttons with the star on it to the right of the ‘Cool’ word in my title. Lastly I added a few of the clear stickers, accessory stickers and enamel dots to finish my layout.

Bedtime rituals | Mixed collections | Anna Komenda

Hello friends. It’s Anna here with my newest page made with CVS goodies. You all have seen the brand new line that will be appearing in the stores any time called “Legendary”. It’s another amazing, boy themed line, that came out from Zoe’s wonderful mind. I am still waiting for it, so I decided to dive into older collections. This time my creative process started with a picture, that I printed long ago but didn’t have mojo on how to scrapbook it. The important thing for this page is mentioning that my printer was dead for few days so I had to use photos that I already had on hand, so I was kind of “forced” to use this one. Don’t get me wrong – the picture is so cute and darling to me but the colors were hard to scrapbook as I always prefer more pastel shades and this one was edited with weird filter. it was a perfect opportunity to challenge myslef. I knew I am going to use some CVS collections, so I went through my stash and picked papers that may work for those colors and “baby bedtime” theme.

“Endless summer” line turned out to be just perfect when it comes to colors, especially the paper with cute clouds. It’s no longer available in the shop but you can purchase the digtal version of it and print your own paper. Stary paper “Star fall” from “Boys rule” collection was just perfect for a bedtime themed page. Thta it how thw whole idea came out.

After I fussy cut some clouds, I placed them around the background and added photo. I knew, I didn’t want to add too much to make a picture a main star of the project. I have a little box filled with elements from older CVS collections, all mixed up so I searched through it looking for matching elements. I didn’t care the line, I just wanted them to fit the theme. I picked many wooden stars from various collections including the very first boy themed line “Flying high”. I also added a cardboard frame and rubber tag that were a part of “Wild at heart” collection. My title was made with leftover alpha stickers.

It’s a very simple page and because the photo carries so many good memories, i wanted to add journaling too. however, I hate seeing my hadwriting on the pages, so I hid it. I cut out two tags in the same size from paper scraps and tided them with a string. The bottom tag has a little journaling on it, but it’s cover by the second one. This way I still get my memories recorded and a clean page :)

That is all for today. CVS collections are perfect used separatelly and together and working with them is a pure joy. I am a member of this team for 5!!! years and I still can’t get enough of them. thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.

Little Moments | Unforgettable | Kylie Kingham.

Hello lovely friends! It is Kylie with you all today on the blog and I have a brand new layout to share featuring the gorgeous ‘Unforgettable’ collection. Of course, being me, I wanted to feature lots of flowers which are my favourites! I love that the die cut pack comes with so many blooms to use on your creations. I have also included a floral cut file in my layout, which was designed by Paige Evans.

I decided to work with a white background and add some paper borders which I have done so using the ‘GLORIOUS’ paper. On one of the coloured borders I have used a lace border punch from my stash to add a pretty detailed finish. I also had some hot pink, heart ribbon in my stash which I have glued down over the border edges. I had been wanting to use this ribbon for a while and this seemed like the perfect match for it.

Using the 6 x 8 paper stack, I backed my cut file before adhering it to my background with foam tape. By using foam, it helps it to sit up from the background, allowing you to create dimension within your layout. I also added some cute clusters of floral die cuts over the top of the cut file.

From this angle you can really see the height and dimension added to the layout…

My photo was backed with the ‘Forget Me Not’ paper before being added to my background, again with foam tape. To finish, I have added more floral clusters as well as a cute title .

XOXO | Bohemian Dream and Wild At Heart Collections | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you today, as Valentine’s Day is fast approaching I decided to create a Iove themed layout using both the Bohemian Dream collection and the Wild At Heart collection. I love how these two gorgeous collections combine together!

I cut out the XO twice from the Colour Me Happy cut file set using white cardstock. Once cut, I backed it with the ‘B’ side of the Fussy Cuts paper from the Wild at Heart collection. I placed some craft foam under the cut file and adhered it to a 6.5′ x 12′ piece of the ‘B’ side of the Abundant paper from the Bohemian Dream collection. I then adhered the whole piece to the Gypsy Heart paper that I chose for my background, this piece is also from the Bohemian Dream collection.

My photo is a fairly recent one of myself and my hubby chilling out on some deck chairs, its not often that he will get in photos with me so when I can a snap some selfies! Under the photo, I layered a piece from the Beautiful Mess paper and one of the die-cut frames from the Wild At Heart ephemera pack. I then tucked my photo and layers into the left side of the bottom XO and also having the top ‘X’ overlap onto the photo.

On the top ‘O’ I added the round purple sticker from the Bohemian Dream Accessory sticker sheet and also added one of the Wild At Heart flairs to the centre of the sticker. On the other ‘O’ I added one of the die-cuts from the Bohemian Dream ephemera pack. To the right of the top ‘XO’ I added one of the tags and arrows from the Wild at Heart ephemera pack. Lastly, I added some of the wood veneer hearts also from Wild At Heart and some of the white and black phrase stickers from the Accessory sticker sheet.

Hello | Unforgettable Layout | Anna Komenda

Hello Friends. It’s Anna here with my newest page made with pretty “Unforgettable” collection. This page is really unique for me and I will explain you why. Usually, when I make a layout, it takes me about 3 hours to finish it. I am a slow scrapbooker. I start with choosing proper papers going through all of my stash few times. Next step is finding out how many pictures I am going to use and how to arrange them. I am thinking about composition, title and whether I should use a cut file or not. I change my mind few times, swap papers, try different alignment. When all the decisions are done, it still takes me at least hour to pick all the embellishments and glue everything down. And this page came together within 10 minutes!!! Yes, it only took me that long (or short :).

It’s all thanks to the pretty paper with wreath called “Garland“. It determined the composition, the background, lack of cut file and placement of the photo. All I needed to do was to glue down the picture with a layer of “Unscripted” paper under it and start embellishing.

I didn’t want to cover all the pretty wreath so I only chose few flowers from ephemera pack and glued them around the photo. I also picked few smaller ones and mounted them around the wreath to add some dimension. Cute bow from “Bows and tassels” is a perfect match for the little girl on the photo. This page isn’t telling any story so my title doesn’t have any meaning. I used “hello” word from word title stickers.

Last step was adding few butterflies cut out from “Lacewing” paper. I have to be honest – I had a bunch of them cut out prior to making the page. I like to keep my hands busy while watching TV so I just fussy cut a whole sheet of them in advance. So it definitely shorten up the process of making a whole page. I finished making this layout with few enamel dots here and there and splashed everything with pink and blue mists.

I just love clever papers and this wreath pattern is definitely one of them. How long does it takes for you to finish a layout? What is your time record in making a page?

Precious Moments | More Than Words collection | Kylie Kingham.

Hello! It’s Kylie back with you today on the blog, sharing a new layout with one of my favourite past collections, ‘MORE THAN WORDS’. I really only had several bits and pieces left in my stash so I thought it would be good to share my ‘go-to’ layout design for when you wanted to use up all your scraps.

It’s a really easy layout to bring together. I started with a white cardstock background and set about cutting down strips of papers at varying widths and heights. I like to distress the edges of them a little before I start adhering them into place. Each strip is then layered over each other being careful not to have everything too symmetrical. I think the background works so well because no two pieces of paper are the same size. Once I was happy with the positioning of them, my photo was added over the top.For balance I have added some gorgeous die cuts to support my photo with foam tape, so that they sat up from the background, adding dimension.
