Hey Hey! IT’s Michelle here today with a new layout share featuring our AMAZING new collection – Happy Days. I am absolutely LOVING this collection and all its assortment of rainbow goodness, which helps when todays theme is to share my take on using 1 paper – 3 different ways. The paper in question – Sunshine Lollipops. SO much fun to create, lets take a look…

This layout was so much fun to create using this bright happy paper Sunshine Lollipops. I used both sides of the paper to create the rainbow burst edges of the heart, fussy cut rainbows for the embellishments and hand cut letters for Leila’s name using off cuts from the starburst ends.

Here’s a closer look at the gorgeous paper, its oh so pretty!

Theres a lot of colour on this page, so I made sure to balance it out with a lot of white space, and not additional pattern papers

To create the rainbow heart burst I first cut a large heart design on a piece of white cardstock to the right of centre so it would overlap the right edge of the layout. I then added machine stitching around the edge and adhered it in place using foam in only the very centre of the heart. I needed to be able to tuck the strips under this before adhering it completely.

Next I took an entire piece of the Sunshine Lollipops paper and scored lines in the middle of each coloured strip using the scoring blade of my trimmer, then I went along and cut each strip of colour out, then cut each strip in half (6 inches pieces) so that they were easier to manage. I folded each coloured strip along the score line for a little dimension and slightly distressed some of the edges before adhering under the giant white heart in rainbow order.

Once I had all the pieces spaced out evenly I adhered them 1 by 1 using roller adhesive tape, layering in different directions as I went. I trimmed each piece down, and flagged some of the ends for a little added detail.

Next up I sorted out the photos, adhered straight to the white heart without a layered paper stack to distract from the rest of the layout. A cute little moment of ‘Leila the Magical’ riding her trike and making her pinwheel spin

I colour co-ordinated all the embellishments around the layout using a perfect mix of fussy cut flowers from the Lush Blooms paper, some ephemera pieces, stickers and cute little rainbows, mini hearts and stars from the Sunshine Lollipops paper.

I added the LOVE it piece from the Feel Good cut apart paper, along with the date tag

To create the magical title I fussy cut letters of Leila’s name from the left over Sunshine Lollipops coloured strips, added the word Magical cut from the Definitive paper, added some handwriting and cute little Puffy Alpha Stickers. So cute!

Here’s a final look at the entire layout.. What do you think ? I quite enjoy the fun heart burst effect those rainbow strips created.

Favourite Moments | Daydream collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah McLean back with you today to share a new layout created for the Throwback Thursday feature this week.

I chose to pull out the STUNNING Daydream collection as I had the perfect photo to document using this gorgeous collection! The photo is of myself with my crafty friends from a recent macrame workshop where we made rainbows. Just love how my rainbow turned out!

I chose a rainbow style background cut file from Paper Issues and cut it out from white cardstock, I then adhered the cut file to a sheet of the peachy coloured paper in the Daydream collection. I really love the effect of the cut file against the background paper. I backed my photo with one of the papers from the A5 paper stack and distressed the edges with my edge distresser tool. I like the texture this gives to the edges. I adhered the photo to the centre of my page and layered some papers and embellishments underneath.

My title is made up of a word from the awesome die-cut titles and an ephemera piece from the ephemera pack. I popped up both pieces with some pop dots and placed the title slightly on the left at the bottom of my photo. I tucked in one of the gorgeous fabric puffy hearts behind the Favourite ephemera piece and also chose some of the gorgeous rainbow die-cuts to adhere here as well. I used different size adhesive so that there were layers to my layout, I like how this creates shadows on my page.

On the right of my photo, I pulled out more rainbow pieces in both accessory stickers and ephemera pieces too and adhered them the same as the other side with different levels of adhesive for a layered effect and to create shadows. Another gorgeous puffy heart was also tucked in and I adhered some gorgeous, small floral ephemera pieces too. When I create my layouts, I will always place and adhere the larger things on my page first like the photo, a cut file and a title. From there my next step is to add the smaller embellishments like die-cuts, frames, chipboard etc and work down to even smaller embellishments again like enamel dots, sequins and small stickers.

I like to audition things before I completely commit to them staying on the layout so I will choose something I want to add and then I try it in a few different places before I am happy with how it looks, I take into consideration the colour, the size and if it balances with other things also on the page, I try to achieve the visual triangle on my pages so that my layouts are pleasing to the viewers eye. The last thing I did on this layout was added a few sequins and sprinkled some gold mist around my page.

Happy 21st | Daydream | Kellie Moore

Good morning CVS fans and welcome to the blog.

My page for today’s post is my interpretation of the monthly mood board designed by Melissa Vining…here it is if you haven’t already seen it.. soooo pretty!

For my page, I took inspiration from the flower wreath and those cupcakes. The light yellow and the pink of the cupcakes reminded me of the Daydream collection so I decided that’s what I would use for my page…here it is…

How pretty are the papers in the ‘Daydream’ collection?! I used a variety of them to back my cupcake cutfiles which are from Cut to You. The hearts on the cupcakes are so sweet!

To create my wreath I used the ‘Daisy Days’ paper and cut out the wreath and layered it over the right hand side of my page, then added some florals from the Ephemera pack popped up on foam tape to add some dimension and add fullness to the wreath.

Once I had my photo in position I decided I wanted my title to run down the right hand side of it. I used the word ‘Happy’ from the Ephemera Pack and the word ‘beautiful’ from the ‘Die Cut Titles’ then some gold thickers from my stash to finish it off…. I love using mixed fonts, they add more interest to the page. To fill in some spots around my title I used some of the butterflies and rainbows also from the Ephemera pack and the Accessory Sticker Sheet.

Other ways I added interest was some light ink blending through a stencil and some gold twine…. simple, yet effective!

Summer Days | Sunkissed Collection | Raquel Bowman

Hey everyone, it’s Raquel here with you today sharing my latest layout featuring the bright and beautiful Sunkissed collection with you.

This layout is featuring my fave paper in the collection ‘Bright side’. As soon as I saw this paper I knew that I wanted to create a layout that features the rainbow design from the paper. It has taken me many layouts using this collection to finally decide on a layout design that featured it.

The subject of my layout is my kiddies at Summer on our vacation. I have been able to create and document a number of our summer memories thanks to Sunkissed. The pocket cards were the perfect size to mat my photos and I was able to choose complimentary colours to the colours I’ve used from the rainbow. I printed the photos using my portable photo printer and adhered them matted to the page with a foam adhesive.

The rainbow was fussy cut from the patterned paper I decided to only feature three of the rainbow colours on this layout. I tacked them to my page lightly and secured them with machine stitching.

To the left of the photo I have embellished the page using a mix of ephemera, puffy stickers and floral ephemera pieces. I also used some of the gold foam hearts to match in with the title. The wood buttons were a nice finishing touch to the clusters of embellishments on the page.

I used similar embellishment choices to the right side of my photos also.

The gold foam stickers make the perfect feature title for a layout. Summer days worked perfectly on this layout and with these photos. Instead of my usual typewritten journaling I have used the mini word stickers on the Accessory sheet to sum up some thoughts from our day.

When adhering embellishments to the page I have used a combination of glue dots, liquid adhesive and foam adhesive.

The white card stock base was adhered to the ‘Summer lights’ paper on a slight angle to provide visual interest. I also machine stitched around the edges for further texture.

I hope this layout has inspired you today to get creating with this beautiful collection.

Sweet Life | Daydream collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you to share another scrapbook layout featuring the amazing new Daydream collection! This collection is absolutely stunning, if you haven’t got your hands on it yet, trust me, you NEED it!

The photo I am documenting today is of my beautiful nieces on a recent little outdoor adventure to see some waterfalls.

The Daydream collection was perfect to document this cute outing as I was able to include the butterflies, moths, florals and rainbows to help tell the story of the outdoors in the photo. I placed foam adhesive underneath my matted photo and then placed this slightly to the right of the page to allow enough room for my title that I placed to the left of the photo. I also used foam adhesive to lift the title up off the page.

A little tip for when you are adhering butterflies and want some dimension – place adhesive in the very centre of the butterfly body only, let the glue dry and then lift up the wings. You can see in the photo above the shadows that are created by doing this!

Above the photo and title, I placed some more phrases and created a sequin cluster. I also placed a banner sticker right on the photo. I also tucked in some floral pieces either side of the photo and I added a word sticker to the fabric puffy heart!

I cut the pink heart strip from the ‘Happy Place’ paper and adhered it to the top of the layout. I absolutely love the rainbow stripe ‘Stepping Stones’ paper, I used this piece as a starting point to create my layout, I cut it and turned it so the stripes ran vertically. By doing this, it directs the eye towards the top of the page and allows you to take in all the elements and photo.
