My Birthday | Happy Days Collection | Michelle Stokes

Hello Hello, It’s Michelle back here today with a new layout share for you all using the Happy Days Collection. I went bold with my pattern paper choice for the background of this one and let the rainbow paint strokes of the Sunshine Lollipops paper shine.

I chose a large cut file design from the CUT to YOU store to use as part of the background design, and it almost became part of the title for the layout. I’ve documented a happy family snap from my birthday a few weeks back, but as it was a ‘quiet’ dinner with family I didn’t think YAY YAY HAPPY WOO TIME was the best option to use, although it does sound quite funny.

I adhered the cutfile to the background using foam tape, giving the design a slight 3d effect.

I printed the photo in black and white so that there was no colour clashing with the background paper and used the frame from the ephemera pack to use as a layering element for this stack. I added fussy cut florals from the A5 paper stack in colour blocked groups according to the direction of colours on the background paper

In the top right corner I added a cluster of ephemera pieces and fussy cut florals from the LUSH BLOOMS paper that blended with the top of the background paper

And then created a second cluster in the bottom left with more ephemera, florals and fussy cut pieces. I added the title ‘My Birthday’ to the journal card using the mini puffy alphas from this collection. So cute and colourful, and so many options for mini titles.

Heres another look at the entire layout, including my usual sprinkling of gold ink to finish it all off. I’m really happy with how colourful this layout turned out, it came together quite quickly which is the best way to create a layout. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of using this collection. It’s bright happy colours and patterns are the absolute best!

My Heart is Full | These Days collection | Rachel Lowe

Today I have a layout to share using the beautiful These Days collection. I am a little sad as this is the last of it but on a positive note I have the new Happy Days collection to start creating with (happy dance).

As I only had the butterfly 12×12 paper left I decided to use it as my base paper but adding a white scalloped square to the middle with a blue colour wash to add contrast. Using a cut file I cut 5 butterflies to layer them for dimension. I used my sewing machine to add stitching down the centre.

 

I next added my 3×4 inch photo of me hanging out in Paris as you do lol! Which I matted and used foam tape to add. My photo is where I added a larger embellishment cluster. I cafe die cut reminded me of Paris so it had to be added to my cluster, I added a tree die cut behind it and then used phrase sentiments from the accessory sticker sheet to journal.

On the opposite side I created a floral cluster and finished off my adding a die cut tab at the top of my photo and a puffy heart sticker on the tree.

I added of the wood epoxy buttons on the butterfly wing. I then used the puffy stickers alphas to add Paris to the other butterfly wing. This layout is simple and quick to put together but the butterfly paper, mixed media background and layered butterfly cut file give it lots of visual impact.

Mothers Day 2021 | These Days | Mandy Melville

Hello everyone!

Mandy here today to share a new layout featuring the lovely new These Days collection. I’m loving the combination of pretty colours and florals in this collection, and I knew that it would be perfect for documenting a photo of my Mum & kids taken on Mothers Day this year.

I started this layout off with the beautiful green Family Ties paper for the background. I cut an 8 3/4 inch circle out of the middle of the page and adhered white cardstock behind it. I then matted the entire page on the Pretty Posies paper, and I added some machine stitching around the edge of the layout.

Next I added some paper layers behind my photo using papers from the A5 paper Stack, and then I tucked the photo into the bottom left hand section of the circle. I embellished around the left hand side of the photo using flowers that I fussy cut out of the Home Grown patterned paper, and leaves from the Floral Ephemera pack. I also added a lovely little Wood Epoxy Button to the centre of one the flowers to give the cluster some additional texture and dimension.

To the right of the photo I added a 3″x4″ card, as well as a sweet Mother & daughter die cut, which was perfect for using on a Mothers Day themed layout.

On the top right hand edge of the circle, I created another floral cluster to balance out the photo and embellishments in the bottom left. This gives the layout a diagonal flow, drawing the viewer’s eye from the bottom left to the top right. In this cluster I again used a combination of fussy cut and die cut florals and leaves, as well as another cute Wood Epoxy Button.

For my title I used the Mini Puffy Alpha Stickers, which I positioned around the inside edge of the circle. These alpha stickers are super cute! I love the beautiful font!

To finish the layout off I added a couple of phrase stickers from the Accessory Sticker sheet, as well as some little butterflies that I fussy cut out of one the papers in the A5 Paper Stack.

Sweet Heart | These Days Collection | Michelle Stokes

Hello Hello! It’s Michelle here today with a new layout share featuring the super sweet These Days Collection. I went crazy with the fussy cutting of those beautiful florals on the Home Grown paper again and teamed it up with a little texture and a cute photo from 2011..

I’ve taken another walk down memory lane with this sweet photo of Leila just before she was 1. This was from a mini photo shoot that was taken just in time for her 1st birthday and gosh did they turn out cute!

I made a little photo stack using the photo, white cardstock, a piece of 3×4 pocket card and some off cuts of the Good Life paper. I knew I was trying to achieve an open frame style layout using tonnes of florals so I added the photo to the bottom left of the awesome woodgrain  paper (Pretty Posies) and layered it with some offcuts of muslin for texture.

I added machine stitching around both the photo and the top corner of the layout using white thread and my trusty sewing machine. Only a few bits show through, but I like the hints of extra texture it adds to the layout. I fussy cut a frame to be the central point of the florals, both frames on the page were cut from the Wall of Fame paper.

I used different adhesives on the florals for a mix of dimension and folded the petals upwards to give them a 3D look

Theres even the addition of a wood button and enamel dots and a gold glitter heart sprinkled here and there…

Along the bottom of the photo I added the other fussy cut frame and used this as the base for my mixed font title. I don’t have very many black foam title words left in my stash so I needed to get creative with my title on this layout. The mini puffy alphabets are perfect in size to add to any title.

I used the same mix of florals and embellishments within the bottom floral frame/cluster to keep a cohesive look to the layout. How stinking cute is that face!

And a different angle to see all the pretty layers that came together in one cluster of goodness. You can also see I’ve added a massive splattering of gold ink around the layout to finish it all off.

You are Magical | These Days | Michelle Stokes

Hey hey! It’s Michelle here today to share a new layout with you all using our newest collection These Days. Our focus over the next couple of days is to share creations featuring the sweet Puffy Stickers and Gold Glitter hearts, I’ve used both to sprinkle through all those pretty florals.

I just can’t help myself when it comes to all those florals, fussy cutting happens without even thinking about it. The Home Grown paper is certainly becoming my most used paper within this collection so far, along with the cut apart sheet in both sizes. The florals were what started this creation off by stretching from top to bottom on the left side of the layout.

I used a mix of adhesives to create layers of dimension. SO many pretty flowers

This massive floral cluster has tiny pockets of space to add cute tiny puffy hearts, sweet butterflies, a few word stickers from the Puffy Sticker sheet and a couple of the super sweet gold glitter hearts

I chose a couple of crazy fun photos of Leila from a couple years back, on a family outing to a local crepe cafe. This was the first time Leila was able to enjoy an entire adult sized crepe all to herself, although she didn’t quite finish it all. I backed the photos in patterns from the A5 paper stack and tucked in some extra bits from the cut apart paper (The Good Life paper) in both sizes.

Under the photo I added the title using a mix of foam title stickers, mini puffy alphabet and a touch of handwriting. I like the special touch the handwriting gives to a layout when I don’t add any journaling.

Over on the right side of the layout I added a strip of woodgrain (Pretty Posies paper) and a cluster of florals and puffy stickers to finish the layout off.

Lastly the finishing touch, a splattering of gold ink, all over the place.

Always Sweet | These Days Collection | Michelle Stokes

Hey Hey! It’s Michelle here today with a brand new layout share using our wonderful NEW collection These Days. I’m also excited to kickstart our product feature for the next few days on Pocket Page cards and the A5 paper stack from this awesome collection. I don’t know about you, but I cant wait to see what the other DT chicks create.

Here’s a look at what I got up to with thePocket Page cards…

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Pocket Page cards. They’re a super versatile 3x4inch card that can be used for more than just pocket page scrapping. They make a great base for simple layout designs, are perfect to layer together in photo stacks, use them whole or cut them up to recreate strips of papers. The selection of designs within the These Days Collection pack are all kinds of magical and even feature a few sweet frame designs. I used these as the main focus of my layout by cutting the Inside of the frame out and adhering photos behind.

I strung the photos across the layout using different adhesives for slightly different heights of dimension. These photos are quite old now, its hard to believe Leila was this little once, especially in this new stage of life, the Pre Teen years.

She had so much sass this day and was really hamming it up for the camera. She knew she was cute haha

I used 3 other pocket page cards to create strips down the edge of the layout, cutting 2 of them into 6 strips (length ways) and laying one above the other down each edge. I sewed through each on my machine using a straight stitch and zigzag. The other card I cut wider strips from and only used half for this layout.

Next up was the banner strung between the photos. I used a mix of stickers and cut apart pieces that I adhered to some cardstock to keep them in place so I could sew through the tops.

I added the title under this using a mix of foam title pieces, mini puffy alphabet stickers and a cut apart label from the A5 paper stack.

You all know what comes next… floral clusters of goodness YES! All the pretty florals were cut from the A5 Home Grown paper and the sweet butterfly from the A5 Take Flight paper. There’s also a hint of black from the title stickers pack, a cute little gold glitter heart and a phrase sticker from the accessory sticker pack.

I created a smaller cluster on the other side of the layout using the same elements as the first with the addition to a tag from the accessory sticker sheet.

Final touches included adding tiny fussy cut flowers around the clusters and then a big splattering of gold ink to finish it off.

Sweet Slumber | These Days collection | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be here today to share my very first layout using the brand new ‘These Days’ collection with you. I have been crushing on this collection since Zoe revealed it, but I think I fell in love with it even more once the box was actually in my hands and I could touch everything. And believe me, there is SO much to love in this collection with more embellishments than we have ever had before!

I have to admit, whenever I get a new collection to play with I am always overwhelmed to start with because there is just so much to choose from, so it takes me a little bit of time to cut into it. It was for this reason that I decided to keep things simple for my first layout to document a sweet photo of my daughter and one of my sons taking a nap together on the couch.

I started my page with a sheet of white cardstock as the base and I chose two patterned papers to use for my background. The first was the beautiful watercolour striped Family Ties paper, which reminded me of the t-shirt my daughter was wearing in the photo. The second was the Wall of Fame paper, which features adorable hand drawn frames. I cut a couple of wide strips from each paper, distressed the edges a bit, and then adhered them to the cardstock in an alternating pattern, leaving a small space between each one.

I then matted my photo using the smaller scale version of the black and white floral print of the Neighbourhood paper from the A5 Paper Stack. I also added a white paper lace doily from my stash and some frayed gauze for soft texture.

Once my photo was in place I set about adding my embellishments around it. My plan was to create a cluster in the bottom left corner, the top right corner, and the bottom right corner. I used pieces from the Floral Ephemera pack to create my layered cluster in the bottom left corner, adding foam tape under some of the flowers for dimension. I also added a sweet little Wood Button in one of the flower centres.

In the top right corner of my photo I again used pieces from the Floral Ephemera pack as the basis of my layered cluster. This was where I also chose to place my title, overlapping the top edge of my photo. I used the word sweet from the Foam Title Stickers and paired it with the new Mini Puffy Alpha Stickers to form the word slumber. (I am in loooove with these alphas!) I also added a small blue butterfly from the Puffy Stickers nearby.

In the bottom right corner of my photo I used a few pieces from the Die Cut Ephemera pack – the sweet little house, the picture perfect moments banner and a small heart. I also added the little blue home flag from the Puffy Stickers set. I finished off with some of the tiny little black leaves from the Foam Title Stickers, my handwritten journaling inside one of the frames on the background paper, and some splatters of black ink.

These Days | These Days | Michelle Stokes

Hello Hello! It’s Michelle here on the blog today with a brand spankin new layout share that features our amazing NEW collection – These Days. Love Love LOVING the soft colour palette and all the pretty patterns within this collection. Its perfect to mix together within a grid style layout like I have done, which some of you might say is very similar to one I’ve made in the past. You’d all be correct as its the newest addition to my yearly themed layout of ALL things Leila.

For those who aren’t quite familiar with what I’m talking about, heres a look at the previous 2 layouts I created in past years using the same layout design, same design techniques and recording the same details as years past. I’ve done this so in years to come we can look back on all the fun things that Leila loved each year, and its an easy way to simplify scrapbooking when you just want to document memories quickly.

The main focus of this layout is to share Leilas current favourites at the same time each year, along with a current photo. However, this year has been a little hectic and It skipped my mind to get it done scrapped so its a couple months later than usual.

To start off the layout I grabbed the a5 paper stack and flipped through to fins 6 complimentary pattern papers to create the grid background. I sewed around each piece using machine stitching adding a couple of extra detailed stitches in random places. Next up I worked on creating the list on a ‘clip board’ using some scrap notepaper and adhered to the woodgrain pattern paper from the a5 paper stack. I’ve used the fancy new black foam title stickers as a title and added mini puffy number stickers from the new mini puffy alphabet set for her age plus a cute little puffy house sticker and gold heart to bring the B&W photo and list together. I used the rainbow watercolour stripe a5 paper as a base for the photo, tucked in a label tab from the ephemera pack, created a mini floral cluster of both ephemera and fussy cut florals (Home Grown paper) and added a few accessory word stickers to finish off this area of the layout.

At the top left of the layout I created one magical cluster of ephemera pieces, wood button, puffy heart sticker, wreath from the Good Life cut apart paper and foam leaf from the foam title stickers pack.

I replicated a similar cluster at the bottom right using more ephemera, wood button, florals and foam leaf strand.

At the top I added a couple of banner flag pieces from the Good Life cut apart paper.

Lastly a close up of some of the messy stitching, oh so slightly distressed paper edges and a sprinkling of gold colour shine to finish it all off.
