Here are our next two challenges for you…
Challenge 3 – Mixed Media with Melissa Vining
Melissa’s challenge to everyone is to create a project that includes a wet medium (such as paint / ink / mist / texture paste, etc) AND a soft textural element (such as fabric / thread / lace / ribbon / fibres / twine, etc). She created an amazing sample layout for this challenge using our ‘Sunkissed’ collection which you can see below.
For her wet medium Melissa chose Distress Oxides and used the inks to add colour to her background; and for her soft textural element, she used embroidery thread, which she glued down in rows to form the bristles of her brush. (Such an awesome idea!)
Challenge 4 – Grab 5 with Michelle Stokes
Michelle’s challenge is a “grab 5”, where you are are required to create a project and include all five of the items on the list. Michelle also used the ‘Sunkissed’ collection for her sample layout, and you can clearly see how she has included each of the five criteria onto her page.
So there you have it – four very different challenges, in four very different styles. There is definitely something for everyone in this bunch! You have until next Sunday (9th May) to load your entries into our community group to be in the running for the prizes. And if these challenges are not enough for you, make sure you also enter our May monthly challenge that was revealed yesterday. (You can find all the details for that one HERE)
And don’t forget about our sale that is happening now too. We’ve got a massive 30% off in our store (including the ‘Sunkissed’ collection) AND free gifts to give away with purchases too! You can shop our sale HERE
Hey Hey! It’s Michelle back here on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog with a new layout featuring our sweet NEW Sunkissed Collection. I’m still loving the bright fun colours of this collection, and yep those florals make another appearance
I created another mixed media background using some green and teal inks, smooshed together using my go to piece of bubble wrap plus a few extra splatters. I created vertically across the layout within the top 2/3. I used some of the cute heart paper ‘Feelin’ Fine’ as the main pattern paper, with hints of the blue version of ‘Fun in the Sun’ florals from the A5 paper stack. Both sections of pattern paper have machine stitching around the edges for a little extra detail.
The photo I’ve documented from 2019 is a cute moment when we visited the local rock pools. This was a time when Mario and Luigi came everywhere with Leila, but she didn’t have enough hands to carry everything while discovering creatures, so had left them safely sitting on a dry area on the rocks. I layered the photo backed with some papers from the A5 paper stack on top of the larger section of pink heart paper, then created a large floral cluster to the left using fussy cut florals from the ‘Growing Wild’ paper and floral ephemera pieces
Love a good floral cluster, as most of you would guess from almost all of my layouts. OOH and how cute are the new puffy stickers that Zoe has added to this collection!!
And excitement PLUS that the Wood Buttons have made a comeback! I think I shared my excitement for them in a previous post too
I used the awesome new Gold Glitter words for the title, so many cool phrases to use within the pack too.
Over on the right I created a cluster of more florals, made a tag using the cute rainbow spot paper from the A5 paper stack and the matching journal card from the ephemerapack. I added the flip flops from the ephemera pack as we were at the beach and another of the cool puffy stickers. All pieces within both clusters either side of the layout were adhered using foam tape and glue dots for different heights of dimension.
Here’s another look at the final layout. I’m really impressed with myself for creating yet another layout with a mixed media background, even if it was just the simple plastic packaging technique.
Well friends thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have enjoyed seeing my newest creation as much as I enjoyed creating to share it with you. Be sure to share your latest creations using the sweet Sunkissed Collectionwith us in the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Community Group on Facebook. We all love seeing what you come up with!
Thanks all from me for now. Until next time, Happy Scrapping!
Michelle xx
Hey Hey! Its Michelle back here today with a new layout share. I’ve used the stunning new Sunkissed Collectionand went a little crazy again with the fussy cut florals from the Growing Wild paper.
You will also notice that I added a touch of mixed media to the background of this layout, just like I’ve done with the last couple. You might be able to say that this clean scrapper has been slightly converted to the messy side. I went with the packaging technique using watered down ink sprays and some bubble wrap, giving the background a watercolour look. Then added a strip of Sunny Days across the middle to hide all the ugly parts and sewed it in place for a subtle hint of texture
The entire layout came together pretty quickly once all the elements were fussy cut, but I did notice towards the end that I was creating a layout design that is very similar to the last layout I shared. Whoops!
The photos I’ve documented are some of many taken at the last Cocoa Vanilla Studio Creative Escape Retreat. It’s hard to believe that this retreat was almost 2 years ago, but man we had a ripper time! This outdoor seating area was perfect for an afternoon beverage, even if it was just a Lemon Lime & Bitters.
I backed the larger photo with a piece of wood grain from the A5 Paper stack and the super pretty pink hearts paper Feelin’ Fine. There’s a tab from the ephemera pack tucked into the top, date label from the Fun in the Sun cut apart paper layered behind and a banner from the ephemera pack over the top. I added the smaller photo, backed with the A5 version of Feelin’ Fine, to the bottom left of the larger photo layered with the ‘welcome to paradise’ tag. This whole piece was raised off the background using a piece of foam sheet.
Next to create was the fun title to the right of the photo using a banner from the Fun in the Sun cut apart sheet and the word CHEERS from the gorgeous GOLD Glitter Foam Titles. Under this I’ve added more pieces from both sizes of the Fun in the Sun cut apart sheet and sewn through them to keep in place. There’s a phrase sticker above this from the Accessory Sticker sheet.
Above the title is the first of 3 floral clusters, this one made of multiple fussy cut floral pieces from the Growing Wild paper, a cute palm tree from the ephemera pack and a sweet little pink drink puffy sticker
Under the photo is the second large floral cluster using more fussy cut florals, some fun heart sunglasses from the puffy sticker sheet and another phrase sticker
Up at the top of the layout I kept the cluster very small using the same type of embellishments as the other two to tie it all together.
Here’s one final look at the entire layout. I’m super happy with the end result and glad I’ve been able to document another memory from this wonderful week in paradise using this wonderful collection.
Well friends that all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my latest creation using the NEW Sunkissed Collection. I can’t wait to see all the creations you’re going to make with this collection too!
Hello Scrappy friends! It’s Michelle back today with a new layout to share as part of our current Sparkle and Shine theme. I recently got my DT Box full of Sunkissedgoodness so I was super excited to use it for this layout, especially the NEW Gold Glitter Foam Titles. Oh my HECK they are stunning and perfect for a theme like this one!
I started the layout by getting a little messy, yep you read that right. Clean freak here got messy for a second layout in a row! I used pink and gold shimmer sprays to create a watercolour effect using the plastic packaging technique, then splattered over the top using the spray tube. Once it was dry (and very warped) I added paper strips across the middle ( Fun in the Sun & Feelin’ Fine ) and machine stitched for a little extra detail. Then I hand cut the wavy edge in the ‘ Sunny Days ‘ paper and tucked that under the layers
I used papers from the A5 Paper stack to layer under the photo ( Just Chillin’ and a pink version of Bright Side ) This whole stack was layered with foam both between layers and under the entire stack to give it dimension off the super warped, never going to be flat background. I tucked a label from the ‘ Fun in the Sun ‘ cut apart paper and a tab from the ephemera pack into the layers also.
To the right of the photo I added a large cluster of fussy cut flowers from the 12×12 version of the STUNNING ‘ Growing Wild ‘ paper. I’ve got a stack more cut out ready for the next few layouts too. I added the title under this using the sweet Gold Glitter Foam Titles – a new edition to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Embellishment range. Absolutely beautiful product to use. Oh and the Wood Buttons are back too, those who have followed CVS from the early days will remember these from earlier collections. I took the adhesive foam dot off the back and used a flat glue dot to adhere to the areas that already had enough dimension.
I used more fussy cut florals under the photo to create the second point to the visual triangle of embellishments I was aiming to achieve.
And then up the top of the layout a much smaller cluster of florals mixed with bunting flags from the ephemera pack. This is when I started adding all the sequins (from the Daydream collection) and a few glitter hearts from the Gold Glitter Foam titles pack. Tiny sequins to add a little hint of extra sparkle and to give the clusters a more completed look.
Lastly I added a touch of handwriting to document this season of life, or I should say that season. A time when Leila would actually cooperate and sit still long enough for me to take photos like this. These days they are very few and far between now that she is 10. I cherish all the photos I was able to get when she was younger, I might need to use bribery for some updates!
Before we say goodbye for today, here’s one final look at the entire layout
I think its safe to say the messy stuff is here to stay.. it certainly adds an extra element of completion to a layout.
Well friends thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my first creation using the wonderful Sunkissed Collection. I can’t wait to create more stunning titles with those amazing Gold Glitter foam words. What are you excited to use from this collection? Let me know in the comments below
Hey Hey! It’s Michelle here today with another instalment of what I like to call ‘Scraplift a follower’. The past few days members of the Design Team have been set a scraplifting challenge here on the blog and I’ve chosen one of our friendly CVS Community Group members to inspire my creation. I used the Bohemian Dream collection and even got a little messy with some mixed media on the background, which was kind of fun for this “clean” scrapper.
I love how this came together combining all the elements of the original, created by Petra de Vroege, with some slight changes to make it my own. I’ve scrapped a photo of Leila from 4 years ago when she was going through a hilarious dorky dress up phase. A time when she kept us constantly entertained, oh how I miss those days. Now its all Youtube, Roblox and Nintendo nonsense and hardly any dressing up at all. The colours in the photo worked so well with the patterns and colours from the Bohemian Dream Collection, which I must note its sadly no longer available as you all LOVED it so much it sold out! There are plenty of other gorgeous collections to choose form though
Heres a look at the layout Petra created..
Super cute! Those scattered stars down the page were what originally caught my eye, and I’m a sucker for cute photos and mixed font titles too!
What a character! This photo was around the time that Leila could finally wear this costume without tripping over the mermaid tail, which was about the same time that posing for photos was no longer fun.
To begin the layout I started with the stars, cutting out a range of different sizes on my silhouette using a free star cut file I found via Pinterest. I chose a few different pattern papers from the 6×6 paper pad that all complimented each other and the photo then popped them to the side once cut to continue with the background
I got a little messy and tried out the plastic packaging technique using the flat side of some bubble wrap and smooshed different coloured inks that were watered down on some white cardstock. The texture of the bubble wrap left a pretty cool pattern, although most of it was covered by the stars and photo and also my hands lol. I splattered a few extra colours that coordinated with the Bohemian Dream collection over the top then left it to dry. At this point I may or may not have freaked out a little when I saw how warped the paper was so I pilled a pack of cardstock on top overnight once it was dry to help it flatten out a little
To create the title I used a mix of Chipboard words (raised off the layout using foam tape and glue dots) older alphabet stickers (sewn through to keep them adhered for years to come) handwritten words and a banner sticker from the Legendary Collection sticker sheet.
Next I’ve added strips of pattern paper to the top and bottom of the layout, which is different to the way Petra has added hers to the sides. I tucked the half labels underneath and added word banners on top along with some chipboard hearts
Lastly I added the stars, scattered randomly at the top and bottom of the photo to recreate the vertical line Petra has used. I adhered the stars with foam tape, glue dots and tacky glue to give different heights of slight dimension. I added in a couple of enamel dots too
Here’s a final look at the entire layout inspired by Petra’s super cute creation
I love how it all came together and can happily say I will definitely be trying some more messy backgrounds in the future.
Well thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to keep sharing your own creations using Cocoa Vanilla Studio products with us in the CVS Community Group on Facebook. We love to see what you make using these amazing products, and you just never know when we might pick your creations to be inspired by.
Hello Hello! It’s Michelle back here today with a new layout share featuring the wonderful Daydream Collection. I’ve chosen to document Leila’s first day back at school photo for 2021 and created a grid using squares of pattern paper from the A5 paper stack.
Its getting harder each year to capture the first day back photo, this years happen to be taken at the end of the day so Leila’s looking a little rough around the edges haha.
I chose a grid design for this layout as I find they are the easiest and quickest way to get a layout done when your lacking mojo or even just strapped for time. I used a mix of patterns from the A5 paper stack that complimented each other as a base for the layout. All were cut into 4x4inch squares and the pieces layered under and on top were slightly smaller by about 1/8 of an inch. Each square has some sort of machine stitching added apart from the top left which has stitching through the photo.
I’ve used the Stepping Stonesand Sun Shower pattern papers for the top left of the grid, raising the photo up with some foam then adding a banner from the Happy Place 12×12 sheet, heart accessory sticker and date tag from the A5 size Happy Place paper.
I created 1 large cluster of embellishments on the bottom right square using a quote from the A5 Happy Place paper, fussy cut florals from the Garden Variety paper, circle frame from the ephemera pack, word sticker and green puffy heart. The papers used on this area of the grid are Up in the Clouds and Sun Shower.
The title square came next using my favourite white alpha stickers, label tag from 12×12 Happy Place paper and some fussy cut florals from Garden Variety. Like always I’ve sewn through all the alpha stickers to keep them adhered for years to come. The pattern papers I used for this part of the grid are Daisy Days and Sweet Serenity.
I added a chunk of handwritten journaling using notepaper that I sewed onto the top right grid section. I also added more fussy cut florals to the edge, overlapping the notepaper and pattern papers. Patterns used are Happy Place and All A Flutter
Along the top of the layout I added an uneven strip of wood grain, Over the Rainbow, and sewed it in place with a tiny strip of Daisy Days
There’s another strip of wood grain along the bottom edge of the layout to bring it all together along with one last accessory word sticker.
I also gave the layout a good splattering of gold ink and a sprinkling of tiny fussy cut flowers on the edges of the clusters.
Heres one final look at the entire layout..
Well that’s all from me today, Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to share in the comments below your go to process on how you get layouts done when you’re lacking time and mojo.
Hello Hello! It’s Michelle here with you today to share a new layout. I’ve used a couple of different collections for this layout as part of our current ‘Green and Gold’ theme. A mixture of Legendary and Boys Rule with a hint of Daydream and Unforgettable.
When I think of ‘Green & Gold’ I picture bright Aussie style colours – Green & Yellow. So thats exactly where this colour palette took me on this creative journey this week. There are so many wonderful green patterns within the extended Cocoa Vanilla Studio range, but the shade of green I’ve used for this layout is by far my most favourite of them all.
To begin I created a grid style layout featuring a couple of cute photos of Lelia and her beloved bunny from a few years back that I printed out in Black & White. I cut out 3.5″ frames from papers in the Legendary Collection for both the photos and title areas ( Wild One & Explorer ) and added a strip of dotted paper along the bottom (Straight & Narrow) from the Boys Rule Collection.
This kid is an absolute HOOT! Her imagination has been wild from the beginning. This day in particular was so fun, creating a ‘Box Coaster’ for them to ride around the galaxy haha
I kept the embellishing of each frame to a minimum by using word stickers ( Accessory Stickers sheet – Legendary ), sticker heart ( Accessory Stickers sheet – Daydream ), tiny fussy cut stars ( All Star – Legendary ) and an arrow ( Ephemera pack – Legendary ). Both frames adhered to the layout using a piece of foam sheet to give a slight hint of dimension.
The title area of the layout also acts as a tidy spot for some hidden journalling. The ‘Wild and Free’ card can be found on the Epic Tales cut apart paper in the Legendary Collection and the hidden journalling card and ‘Be Rad’ piece can be found on the ‘Boy Stuff’ cut apart paper in the Boys Rule Collection.
Heres a peek at the journalling ..
I cut the card down slightly, rounded the edges on the right and made a tag top including punched hole at the opposite end to add string and tie a bow.
In the top right frame I added a couple extra words that can be used as part of an extended title. The white alphas are by far my most used Cocoa Vanilla Studio embellishment by far, and those foam words from the Unforgettable Collection work so well with pretty much every collection there is.
I sewed the white alphas down so that they stay in place for years to come, but also to add a little extra design element to the layout. I added machine stitching around both of the yellow frames to keep the white X paper in place (Star Fall – Boys Rule). The ‘You are my Sunshine’ can be found on the Daydream Collection Accessory Sticker Sheet and the green tab is a sticker from the Legendary Collection Accessory Sticker Sheet.
Lastly I added a bunch of fussy cut starts in green and yellow to the bottom left and top right of the layout, scattered to give the grid style layout a slight ‘diagonal’ design feel. I also added my usual splattering of gold ink to finish it all off.
Well friends thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my take on our current ‘Green & Gold’ theme, be sure to share yours with us in the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Community Facebook Group.
Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!
Michelle x
PS.. A little side note regarding the fabulous Boys Rule Collection…. Because all us crazy crafters LOVED it so so much when it was originally released, back in the day, sadly its no longer available.
Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends, its Michelle back here today with my newest layout share for 2021! I chose the beautiful Daydream collection for this creation, documenting a sweet photo of fellow DT member Raquel and I from a couple years back. We’ve been friends since we started primary school and now our kids are great friends too.
I really wanted to use the wreath paper – Daisy Days – from the collection, and had a hankering for some fussy cutting… as much as I say I hate fussy cutting, it really is therapeutic and fun to do when sitting in front of the TV.
I used the wreath pieces as the base of the circular design and layered extra florals into areas to create large ‘clusters’. I used different types of adhesive to create multiple layers within the cluster, most used are foam tape and glue dots.
I’ve backed the photo using the smaller designs of Sweet Serenity and Sunshower from the A5 paper stack and tucked in a word tab from the ephemera pack. To the left of the photo I’ve added a flair button and butterfly from the ephemera pack and created larger floral clusters above and below this area that curve around the photo.
In the top group of florals I’ve used a mix of florals from the Garden Variety paper as well as the floral wreath piece, some smaller fussy cut tiny florals and a sticker.
In the larger grouping I’ve used florals from both the 12×12 and A5 size Garden Variety paper, a small rainbow from Up in the Clouds and a banner word from the ephemera pack.
And over on the right I’ve used both small and large florals again plus a sticker to complete the floral group, then added the title above to fill some of the open white space. I’ve used a die cut title word and stickers from past collections to create the mixed font title.
Lastly I added the usual splattering of gold ink and felt it was complete. One sweet photo of 2 friends who’ve known each other almost their entire life documented. A friendship that I cherish and am so thankful for. Don’t know what I would do without her.
Well friends that is all from me today. Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hello Hello! Its Michelle here with you today. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful festive season and are all rested and ready to see this crazy year off and start a fresh new one in the next couple of days. I have another instalment of Christmas Memory sharing for you all – the second half of the 2019 album I shared with you last month featuring loads of bits n bobs from the very cheerful Merry & Bright Collection. Like the first post, this one is also very photo heavy so lets jump straight into it..
… starting with the middle of December. There was lego building, tree building and secret letters from Twinkle our Elf. I’ll leave links for all the products I’ve used at the very bottom of this post
This time of year is also when Leila or one of us in this house tends to fall ill. In 2019 for Leila sadly it was a stomach bug that had her wiped out next to the undecorated Christmas Tree’s for an entire day
I created a flip/ shaker pocket to conceal the photo and journalling from that day using a label from the cut apart sheet Oh What Fun and ’14’ from the Countdown paper. There’s some glitter and a couple of ephemera hearts sprinkled into the front of the pocket on top of the pocket page card. To keep them all in place I sewed the flap directly onto the pocket page below.
Over the page I’ve kept things pretty simple using more numbers from the Countdown paper. I’ve repeated this step through the entire album to keep things cohesive.
In between the pocket pages I’ve added a giant paper tag insert using 2 pieces of pattern paper from the A5 paper stack – Joy to the World and the text side of Oh What Fun. I’ve created the round glitter shaker over the top of the floral pattern using the large circular wreath ephemera piece, some left over clear packaging, a tonne of sliver glitter and machine stitched around the wreath to keep out closed. I added flowers and banner from the ephemera pack, then stapled a piece of coordinating ribbon to the top.
I kept the text side of the tag blank as the album is already quite bulky, plus theres a lot going on in the photos to the right. The 18th of December last year was quite the busy day – we treated ourselves to a new car and Twinkle got up to mischief in my craft room creating signs for the Christmas Tree. It was a sad time for Leila saying goodbye to our first family car, but we were all very excited with our new wheels!
Top right of the pockets is another see through glitter pocket using the numbers from the Countdown paper, a single puffy gold star and machine stitched along the top edge to stop the glitter going everywhere.
As we start to creep towards the last third of the month it gets a little busier. The end of school, long days at work, House Elf getting up to mischief and HOT HOT HOT weather.
Another flip pocket using pocket page cards, ephemera and some off cut strips of Jingle all the Way (candy cane stripe) conceal more photos of Leila’s last day at school. One a photo of the crazy mask she made and the other a photo with one of her favourite teachers ( not shared for privacy reasons)
This kid is a hoot! An accessory sticker was perfect to embellish the photo I took of a well needed coffee at work. What a crazy time of year working in Pharmacy can be, and not because its Christmas!
We made it to see Santa to share with him all the things Leila was hoping to receive for Christmas. I had Leila write on the Dear Santa card herself which was the perfect touch to this spread. If you’d like to do the same with your children you can find this card on the Oh What Fun cut apart sheet.
We didn’t get the chance to ‘trim the tree’ until quite late in the month. The lead up to and start of December is always chaotic for us with work, school and Leila’s Birthday so the poor tree always gets neglected until the last minute. We make sure to enjoy it for a few weeks into January before packing it all away.
I used some of the wonderful woodgrain found on the Seasons Greetings paper or in the A5 paper stack as a base for this mini layout. I cut a frame out of the Candy Cane stripe Jingle all the Way to frame the photo then layered 2 trees from the ephemera pack and some stickers to finish it off. On the right hand side I used the darker green print of Oh Christmas Tree to cut a tree design cut file from CUT to YOU. I backed it with some clear velum and sprinkled glitter within each circle to create twinkling lights. I’ve machine stitched the tree onto the Oh What Fun paper to keep it in place.
On the back I created a simple sequin shaker pocket using another ephemera frame and adhered it to some Countdown paper with ephemera pieces and a strip of ‘Christmas rainbow’ diagonal stripe that can be found along the bottom of the Oh What Fun paper.
Over the page I kept the pockets simple using cards from the pocket page card pack. I also documented a photo I screen shot from facebook when our beloved country was on fire.
Were on the home stretch now, just a few more to go…
Another simple insert between pages of photos using vellum, ephemera pieces and a puffy gold star
with a very similar cluster created on the reverse to coincide with the photos of family from Christmas Eve.
Another photo heavy spread with pocket page cards as fillers with the addition of a couple accessory stickers and a cute ephemera house
All the fun of Christmas Day contained in 1 spread. This is literally all the photos I took on this day minus a few extra blurry ones. I chose to live the moments in person rather than a face behind a phone camera, but I’m happy I took just these few.
Lastly we round out the month with a few crazy faces from New Years Eve. Every year so far this crazy kid has been awake and ‘celebrated’ it well and truly into the new year with us. Last year it was on the couch watching fireworks from around the country on tv with her beloved stuffed animals.. and a few crazy selfies with me. You’re welcome lol
Well friends thats a wrap on my 2019 Christmas Memories album, and my creative shares here with you for 2020. Its been a crazy year for us all, and I cant wait to see what the next year brings.. Lets hope its a little less chaotic than 2020 but a heck of a lot more happy!
Thank you all for your love and support throughout the year.
Hello Hello and Happy Christmas Eve to you all! It’s Michelle here today with a new layout share for “Throwback Thursday, our regular fortnightly throwback to beloved Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections from the past. This week I’m sharing a super fun layout using the awesome Legendary Collection which is perfect for documenting all kinds of funny moments, especially funny photo’s of my sweet Leila who just recently turned 10!
The layout was based on a fun title idea to use with a funny photo of Leila on a toddle ride at a local shopping centre. She’s way too big to fit in the actual seat so she was perched on top for her Epic Adventure to ‘Toy Land’.
I started the layout by making the title then worked around that to create the whole layout. I’ve used the woodgrain paper ‘Outdoors Type‘ as the backing and layered in a couple of other pattern papers ‘Offbeat‘, ‘Epic Tales‘ and ‘Wild one‘ to make the photo stack pop.
There’s some hidden journalling tucked into the top of the photo too, using a tag from the Ephemera Pack and shared up close further down this post.
I like creating titles with mixed fonts and this collection has plenty. I’ve fussy cut the EPIC letters found on the cut apart paper ‘Epic Tales‘ to give them a more 3D look when adhered to the layout with foam tape. Under this I’ve added a Die Cut Title word plus another strip piece from the cut apart paper. The alphabet stickers I used for Leila’s name are an older CVS product thats currently not available. To the right of the title I added the hot air balloon from the Ephemera Pack.
I added the giant stars from the Ephemera Pack to the top and bottom of the layout on a diagonal across from each other, then layered more Ephemera pieces and Accessory Stickers to create open clusters. I certainly love a cluster of stars, almost as much as I love a cluster of florals!
I used a range of adhesives to keep some pieces flat and give some slight dimension. More often than not I use my tiny attacher, foam tape and tiny glue dots. Oh and sometimes I sneak in a little machine stitching
To finish the layout I’ve splattered gold ink everywhere, added a sprinkling of Enamel Dots within the clusters and added the journalling to the hidden tag. It certainly was hilarious watching her try to squeeze into the seat that day!
Well crafty friends thats all from me today, here’s one last peek at the layout I’ve shared with you today..
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing what I created for this weeks Throwback Thursday post. If you don’t already have the Legendary Collection in your stash you really should add it. There’s plenty of ways you can use it, even if you don’t have boys to scrap!
Thank you all so much for stopping by today. I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Christmas with your friends and family. Stay safe and be Merry! I’ll be back in a couple of days to share the remainder of my Christmas Album using the Merry & Bright collection.
Until then, Happy Scrapping.. if you get the time to that is.
