Welcome to today’s Cocoa Vanilla Blog! Once again, I’ve drawn inspiration from the beautiful Heart and Home collection by Cocoa Vanilla. This collection has delightful and fresh colors that inspired me. Today, I wanted to shine a spotlight on the gorgeous and elegant gold word die-cuts. By arranging the words in a stacked manner with a bit of overlap, I created a playful and eye-catching title.
To begin, I cut three circles from white cardstock and chose a vibrant yellow patterned paper to fill them in. The middle circle may be a bit elusive because I ultimately decided to place the lovely photo of my daughter and me in the center. On the left side, I crafted a cluster of flowers and butterflies. I choose die-cut flowers and some hand-cut blooms from the beautiful patterned paper, I added a touch of whimsy with strategically placed cut-out butterflies.
For the title, I incorporated the playful arrangement of gold word die-cuts, complementing it with a word strip and adorable puffy alphas. Additionally, I placed some puffy hearts throughout the layout. I love incorporating various elements and materials into my layouts to add depth and interest. To finish it off, I added distress splatters in the lovely Speckled Egg color. I find this shade to be a perfect match for the light blue-gray tones present in this collection.
Thank you for stopping by the blog today. I hope this layout has sparked some inspiration for you. Looking forward to seeing you next time with fresh ideas! Have fun, and until next time.
It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new scrapbook layout featuring the gorgeous Joyful collection.
I know, I know its still November but who said we couldn’t document Christmas all year round right? I know some people would not agree lol! I don’t know about you, but Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year to document memories, this photo is of our big Christmas tree from last year. I love this photo as it reminds me of beautiful times spent with my family.
I started by choosing the ‘B’ side of the Feeling Festive patterned paper to use for my background, I trimmed this piece down and adhered it to a plain white sheet of white cardstock and machine stitched a border around the outside to add some texture. I then cut out a cut file from CUT to YOU also using plain white cardstock. The A5 paper stack was then used, choosing several of the papers from it to back each letter in the cut file. Once the cut file was all backed, I adhered it slightly to the left on the ‘B’ side of the Feeling Festive paper. I cut strips out of the Holly Days paper and the Very Merry paper and adhered these vertically to the left of the cut file. I like how this helps to ground the cut file. Usually I adhere my cut files using craft foam however this time I knew I wanted to use craft foam on lots of the elements on top of the cut file.
I adhered my photo on the right of the cut file using craft foam and layered some of the Journaling Cards underneath, I then added some die-cut pieces from the Ephemera pack and some Accessory Stickers and Puffy Stickers here too. I like to add embellishments near my photo to help draw the eye to the photo. You can see in the image above the shadows that using the craft foam creates under the photo, I love how this looks! It also allows for lots of tucking of embellishments as well. Above my photo, I placed some of the word and phrase stickers from the Accessory Sticker sheet, I love how these help with journaling and telling the story.
To balance out the heavy right side where my photo is placed, I decided to add the gorgeous die-cut Christmas Tree from the ephemera pack to the left hand side using craft foam, I added one of the gold puffy stars to the top of the tree and also layered more of the word and phrase stickers from the Accessory Sticker sheet, on top of the tree. I added some more gifts under the tree using puffy shapes and die-cuts. In the centre, I placed the FaLaLaLa die-cut, a banner sticker and another phrase sticker. I also pulled out some of the chipboard and added some of the pretty gold stars and I also added the Santa Hat to the top of ‘D’ in the December cut file.
In the centre of the ‘D’ in the December cut file, I took one of the circle stickers from the Accessory Sticker sheetand added one of the gorgeous wood epoxy buttons to the centre of the circle. Once all the bigger elements were added to my page and I was happy with all of the placement, I took a look at my layout to see if I was happy with it and if I thought it was finished. I can very easily overdo it sometimes and never know when to stop but I added just a few smaller embellishments like more gold chipboardstars and some Accessory stickers to finish. I also stamped the date stamp which is what I do on all of my layouts, its one of my signatures that I always like to do!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Cocoa Vanilla blog today! I hope I have inspired you to pull out your Cocoa Vanilla Christmas collections and start creating some of your past Christmas memories!
Hey y’all! Laura Alberts back again with a bold and beautiful layout that’s a bit of a stash dive into the stunning No Limits collection. I absolutely love this one and had to dig it out for this fun page featuring our visit to a hands-on museum on our last trip to Michigan. I started with a large block of this playful orange patterned paper with a little border strip on each side, then layered my photos over ephemera stars and a cut-apart journaling spot.
These large star frames are some of my favorite pieces from this collection! On the empty right and left edges of the layout, I added a scattered star border using fussy cut shapes from the Nebula patterned paper. Each of the stars is outlined with black gel pen to make them stand-out and I added a few tiny, sketchy stars for a bit of fun.
The bottom of the layout has a simple cluster with border strips underneath of a frame from the ephemera pack. I backed the frame with a cut-apart piece and filled it with the leftover bits of stars from the border layered under a cut-apart subtitle. This element was so much fun to put together!
I hope this layout inspires you to give this scattered border style a try. If you’d like to see how “Adventure” came together, check out the process video below:
It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new layout featuring the gorgeous Heart & Home collection.
The Heart & Home collection is perfect for documenting photos of family. I took this photo of my parents recently at the airport before my Mum was leaving for England. I just love this photo of the 2 of them.
I started with a plain white cardstock background and chose a free quilt design cut file by Paige Evans as one of the features for my layout. I cut the cut file out from the ‘B’ side of the Framed paper and love how the wood grain looks against the white. With the bigger frame piece, I adhered the white cardstock on top of this piece and then machine stitched a border around the outside to add some texture. I then took the A5 paper stack and backed some of the open spaces. I adhered my photo on the right hand side of the page using craft foam and added one of the cardstock frames from the ephemera pack over the photo. I also tucked in one of the florals underneath, I love how you can see the different dimension I created here.
My title is made up of the gorgeous gold foil cardstock titles and I placed the title on the left of the photo using craft foam for dimension too. I layered one of the small phrase pieces from the Gather paper over the top of the title. On the right of the photo, I added more die-cut pieces from the ephemera pack and also added a puffy heart here as well. At the top of the frame I added one of the phrase stickers from Accessory sticker sheetand also placed one of the banner stickers also from the Accessory sticker sheet at the bottom of the photo and layered a puffy heart over top of the heart on the sticker.
Next up it was time to add some more embellishments. I decided to add some of the stickers from the Accessory sticker sheet, adding 2 of the square ones to the square shapes in the cut file. I also added some more of the smaller die-cut pieces from the ephemera pack to some of the open spaces in the cut file as well. Some of them I added craft foam to underneath and some I placed flat on the page. I love the different levels of dimension not to mention the shadows this creates on a project. Lastly I added some more of the super cute puffy hearts and stamped the date stamp of when the photo was taken to finish off the layout.
I love how Cocoa Vanilla collections co-ordinate! It is so easy to create pretty projects with their gorgeous collections, I highly recommend you get the Heart & Home collection for your family memory keeping, it has perfect elements to help capture those all important memories and to tell your stories.

It’s Sophie on the blog today with this new layout!
I used the beautiful Heart & Home collection again!
I wanted to focus on the beautiful frames from the “Framed” patterned paper. I fussy cut a few of them and centered them under a beautiful and sweet photo of my two doggies cuddling and sleeping together!
I machine stitched around the frames and used them to add subtitles and a little bit of handwritten journaling.
I placed a strip of the “Fall Beauty” patterned paper at the bottom of the layout and tucked a few framed under it. I also added many fussy cut leaves and flowers to embellish around the frames, with two bigger floral clusters around my photo.
The GORGEOUS heart & Home Gold Foil words made the perfect title for my page.
Here are more close-ups:
I love the result and hope you like it too! It’s another way to use frames on a page without framing a photo!
Thank you for stopping by, I will see you again soon!
Hey y’all! Laura Alberts here with a fun autumn layout using the new Heart & Home collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. These lovely photos worked beautifully with the color scheme of Heart & Home, especially the vellum florals! I started this one using multiple chipboard circle templates that I created in various sizes using bowls from my house. Cutting out circles in these beautiful patterned papers made for a quick and easy background!
Each of the circles are outlined in black gel pen with a few faux stitching marks. In the top left circle, I positioned two photos with the first part of my title and tucked a journaling spot from the cut apart sheet underneath. I added a mix of ephemera, fussy cut, and vellum florals on the right side for a simple cluster.
In the top right corner, I built a large cluster using a frame from the ephemera pack and backed it with a cut apart. The floral cluster added depth by layering ephemera florals above the frame and vellum florals below. This gives the cluster a dynamic look despite how flat it actually is!
In the bottom right corner, I let one of my photos go off the page and trimmed it. This functions as the second-half of the title, but also gives a third point of interest on the page. These photos didn’t need a lot of embellishing, so I kept this cluster simple.
And just to add a little extra something fun to the last circle, I added a medium sized cluster with both vellum, ephemera, and fussy cut florals. Love how this one turned out! I hope this layout inspires you to find a new way to incorporate household items into your scrapbooking!
Today, I’m excited to share with you a new project I’ve been working on using the stunning Home and Heart collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. This collection has such a warm and inviting feel to it, making it the perfect choice for documenting the cherished memories of our family vacation in Austria. So, let’s dive into the details of my latest scrapbook layout.
For this layout, I decided to create a focal point by cutting out a large circle in the center of my page. This circle would be the canvas for a playful patchwork of 2-inch by 2-inch square patterned papers. I carefully selected these papers to match each other, creating a harmonious blend of colors and designs that perfectly complemented the photo I wanted to feature.
The photo, a snapshot from a memorable hike during our Austrian adventure, harmonized beautifully with the color palette I chose. The rich, earthy tones and soft pastels in the Home and Heart collection fits perfectly with the picture. To add some dimension and flair to the patchwork, I incorporated stickers and mini puffy hearts, strategically placing them between the paper squares.
Around the circular frame, I decided to create a meaningful quote using the mini puffy alphabet included in the Home and Heart collection. The flexibility of this alphabet allowed me to arrange the words in a way that beautifully encircled the photo, emphasizing the sentimental value of the moment captured. To further embellish the layout, I crafted two clusters of flowers on either side of the photo. These floral elements added a touch of elegance and a dash of nature to the composition.
For the finishing touch, I incorporated a stunning gold-foil title, “Happy Times,” which shimmered and added a touch of luxury to the layout. The golden accents in the title and throughout the collection perfectly complemented the warm tones of the papers and the sentiment of our joyful family moments. Lastly, I couldn’t resist adding a bit of whimsy to the layout. I sprinkled white gesso splatters across the page, creating a playful and dynamic effect. These little touches of paint added an extra layer of depth and character to the layout.
I hope you enjoyed reading about my creative process and the inspiration behind this layout. The Home and Heart collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio allowed me to beautifully capture the essence of our Austrian adventure and preserve those treasured memories in a delightful and visually stunning way. Thank you for visiting the blog today, and I hope you found inspiration in my project. I can’t wait to share more of my scrapbooking with you in the future. Until next time, happy crafting, and remember to capture those beautiful moments!
It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a slightly different project to my normal layouts! I created a heart-shaped door hanging that doubles as a place to add notes and letters using the gorgeous Heart & Home collection. Great idea right?!
I started by having my Silhouette Cameo cut out a heart shape for me from plain white cardstock. I then traced out the shape of various sections of the heart with a variety of the 12′ x 12′ papers including the ‘B’ side of the Framed paper, the ‘B’ side of the Flurry paper and the ‘B’ side of the Harvest paper. Once I had them out all cut out, I machine stitched a border around the outside edge of the entire heart. I did stitch across the 2 pouches horizontally, adding strips of the ‘B’ side of the Gather paper and a strip of vellum. I did only place adhesive on the bottom and the very edges of the pouches to create the openings.
Once the heart and the pouches were constructed, I added a ribbon to the back of the heart and also included a bow at the top. To embellish the door hanging, starting from the top, I added the banner sticker from the Accessory Sticker sheet to the top left corner, adhering it with a staple. I then cut part of the heart strip from the Gather paper and adhered it horizontally, tucking in a tag, I added some twine to the top of the tag, and adhered a phrase banner die-cutwith some craft foam. I also placed a heart puffy sticker on the tag.
For the middle section, I added lots of ephemera pieces, including the house which I adhered using craft foam and added a puffy sticker to the house to act as a door handle and a phrase die-cut across the centre of the house. I also added a round die-cut and added a mini paper clip and I placed another die-cut on the left. I also placed another banner sticker and stapled it to adhere it. On the bottom I placed another house die-cut and the title here which is made up the gold cardstock words. I also did the same to this house as I did to the one above, adding a puffy sticker and phrase die-cut. I adhered all of these using craft foam also.
Thanks so much for stopping by the Cocoa Vanilla blog today! Not all projects have to be layouts! Sometimes it’s good to think outside the box! I hope I have inspired you to pull out your Heart & Home collection and get creative with it!
I used the beautiful Heart & Home collection again!
I focused on the Leaf Litter patterned paper and fussy cut numerous tiny leaves.
I centered my black and white photo on a thick white cardstock, added a few layers of patterned papers from the A5 paper Stack, tissue paper and foam adhesive.
I created a big floral cluster on the lower right corner of the photo (Floral Ephemera pack), and scattered the beautiful fussy cut leaves on the upper left corner of the photo to create a diagonal design.
I placed a die cut on the photo as my title, with the name of my dog (Mini Puffy Alphabet) and a few handwritten words about how cute she looks!
Here are more close-ups:
I love the result and hope you like it too!
The layout is very easy to scraplift so don’t hesitate to give it a try!!
Hey y’all! I’m back again with the stunning Heart & Home collection to scrap these two photos of my brick. This is my mark on the university I attended and I am so grateful that I had this opportunity to return to school and finish my degree. To celebrate, I’m scrapping this moment with these rich colors from Heart & Home!
For this layout, I created a fairly simple vertical background and layered my two 3×4″ landscape photos on top of each other with clusters of florals from the icon ephemera packs tucked into the corners. With a lovely gold die cut title and these tiny fussy cut florals, I gave the page a beautifully detailed finish!
Adding in Nuvo drops was how I gave this simple vertical time to shine. Using white Nuvo on top of the woodgrain paper that edges the background gives it a purpose. The outlining of those strips makes them pop even more!
I hope this layout inspires you to find new ways to add details that give your layout a polished finish. To see how the ‘Thankful’ layout came together, check out the process video below:
