Great Escape ephemera die cuts

Today I am sharing another layout using the fab! Great Escape collection! This layout has been created using only the A5 Paper Pad.

The only thing you have to remember is that anything you cut must be 6×8 inches. This is a great way to either save your 12×12 inch papers or when your supply of the 12×12 inches papers is running low. I cut 10 scallop strips using different colours and patterns to create my background. So they stood out I added some black machine stitching to each strip.

I next cut my title Wild & Free using a cut file from the Silhouette design store which I then offset using a darker colour to add contrast so my title really popped on the white background paper.

Using another cut file from the Silhouette Design store, polaroid Frames, which I back filled with the journal cards also from the A5 paper pad. I added my two photos and set about embellishing this with Puffy Stickers, Accessory stickers and ephemera die cuts.

I used chipboard pieces to add over my scallop paper strips to add dimension. I layered the stars and used foam tape to add dimension.

This layout was super easy to put together and you could do a 8 1/2 x 11 inch version. You could also add larger photos or more photos. I love the colours of this collection and the A5 paper pad has some colours/designs that are not in the 12×12 collection pack.

Fun Times | Great Escape | Rachel Lowe

Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing a layout using the fab Great Escape collection. I just love these photos of my youngest when he was a little one. The orange T shirt and ‘nature’ background are perfect colours for this collection.

I love white as my base but adding bright and patterned borders really make it stand out. I used Adventure paper and Happy Camper paper to border the white.

I used a cut file from the Silhouette Design Store to create the paper strips on the white cardstock. I used Horizon and Star Gazing paper.

I next added my 3×4 inch photos matting them using a paper from the A5 paper stack.I created embellishments clusters around my photos using the Ephemera Die Cuts adding them with foam top over and under my photos.

To add dimension to my layout I used the Chipboard and die cut stars to layer over the stars on the star paper strips. I also added stars from the Puffy Star Stickers to the centres of those stars.

I used the Accessory Stickers to create my sub journalling using the phrase sentiments and added them by following the curve of the yellow paper.

I used the Chipboard word ADVENTURE as my title in amongst the star paper with foam tape.

I added more chipboard, using the repeat method to tie the outer border paper into the actual layout.

This was a fun layout to create and I am happy that I finally scrapped these photos. Thank you for stopping by and see you again soon.

Adventure Awaits | Great Escape | Rachel Lowe

Hello CVS crafty friends Rachel here! Today I am sharing another layout created using the fab Great Escape collection scrapping an older photo of my youngest.

Boys and stars just go together! Firstly I cut the  Star Gazing paper at 5×12 inches. I used the banner paper strip from the Wild Life paper and added to the bottom of the star paper piece. I used a note book border cut file from the Silhouette Design store and cut this using the blue part of the Horizon paper and added to the top of the star paper piece.

I chose a dark blue to ensure I had contrast against the busy star paper. I next cut two stars using both sides of the Starry Night paper, 5 1/2 and 5 inches. I layered these off centre to the left.

I next added my 3×5 inch photo, matting it on the yellow side of the Horizon paper and then adding a strip of the Journey paper, green side. I added my photo with foam tape to create dimension. I love the Chipboard pieces and created an embellishment cluster to the left side of my photo finishing of it with a phrase sentiment die cut.

I used the Adventure Awaits journal strip from the Wild Life paper and added under my photo, this being my title of my layout. I added the compass die cut with foam tape so this element didn’t look ‘flat’.

I always use the Accessory Sticker Sheet to add sub journalling and these phrase sentiments suite my boy so much!

To balance my layout I added a embellishment to the top left of my page, using the tag and ‘play’ banner from the Accessory Sticker sheet, adding the Puffy Star stickers and then some twine.

You could add a larger photo on this layout or even two smaller landscape photos. I did go back and add some Chipboard Stickers and Puffy Star Stickers over some of the stars of the Starry Night paper to add more dimension.

And there you have it another boy layout that is fun and fabulous!

Wild Thing | Great Escape Collection | Rachel lowe

Hey crafty friends Rachel here! Today I have another layout created with the fabulous Great Escape collection. I have used a photo of my oldest boy who is now in the Air Force and has made this mum very proud.

I used this awesome geometric cut file from the Silhouette Design store and cut it in black for impact, I chose the Happy Camper orange side paper to back the cut file as it contrast so well. I used white cardstock as my base paper and added a grey/blue paint wash and splatters and added the Adventurer paper as a border.

I again used the Adventurer paper and cut a strip 4×9 inches and placed to the left of the circle cut file. I used the dark blue strip from the Wild Life paper over this trip. I next added my 6×4 portrait photo with foam tape so I could add elements under.

I used  chipboard pieces to add dimension to my layout and to emphasise the patterns of the paper. to ensure my photo did not get ‘lost’ amongst the patterns and colours I added clusters of embellishments around it. Layering over and under elements greats great visual interest.

I love the Puffy Title stickers and as you can see you on my layout I manipulated them to curve following the shape of the circle cut file. I added some Puffy Star stickers in amongst my colour wash to create the illusion of a sky.

I did try a coloured version of my photo but as there are many colours and patterns in this layout it just didn’t work but a black & white version really popped off the page!

Adventure Awaits | Great Escape collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share another scrapbook layout featuring the gorgeous new Great Escape collection! I have documented another photo from my recent trip to Tasmania, this time a photo taken at pretty Horseshoe Falls. The Great Escape collection is absolutely perfect for outdoor adventures, nature photos and road trips!

I decided to start with a cut file found on the internet and cut this from white cardstock. I then took the A5 paper stack and backed the spaces in the cut file with a variety of different papers. Once the cut file was backed, I adhered it using craft foam to the Horizon 12′ x 12′ patterned paper. I cut a small strip of the ‘B’ side of the Wild Life patterned paper and tucked it in under the cut file t the bottom.

I placed my photo on the right-hand side of the page overlapping the cut file and allowing one of the clouds in the cut file to overhang onto the photo. I used craft foam to adhere the photo too. Above the photo, I placed a banner sticker, and on the left of the photo I placed a tab sticker all from the Accessory Sticker sheet. Below the photo, I placed the die-cut title ‘Explore’ from the ephemera pack and also added a puffy shape.

Also from the Wild Life patterned paper, I cut out the 3′ x 4′ card that says ‘Adventure Awaits’ and placed this right under the stars on the cut file again using craft foam to adhere it. I added another tab sticker to the left of the photo and also added the round sticker at the top of the mountain peak, both from the Accessory sticker sheet. I absolutely LOVE the chipboard elements in this collection! I added 2 of the stars, the flag popping out of the clouds, the log piece between the mountains and also the hexagon shape overlapping the mountains at the bottom.

Once the larger elements were placed and I was happy with them, I went ahead and placed some smaller finishing touches like some more puffy shapes and some extra die-cuts from the ephemera pack, I also stamped the date of when my photo was taken.

Fun Times | Great Escape | Rachel Lowe

Welcome to my my second layout created using the new fab Great Escape collection. I have scrapped a photo of son number two (I have three!!!) sitting in front of a rusting old car.

I chose this fab star cut file from the Silhouette design store and cut it in black to create a contrast. I chose the colourful striped Journey paper for the centre star and the green Direction paper for the outer smaller stars. I added foam tape to some of the smaller stars to create dimension.

I added my 3×5 inch photo which I matted on a paper from the A5 paper stack and added black machine stitching to create a border. I added two stickers to the top of my photo from the Accessory Sticker sheet. I went back and added several of the larger Die Cut Ephemera stars and then Puffy Stickers to the centres.

I then created an embellishments to each side of my photo, how cute is the car with luggage and map, perfect for my photo!

Next I used the Chipboard stickers to create my title, adding FUN to the bottom of my photo and TIMES under the photo, don’t be afraid to mix it up by making your title interesting in placement.

I used Wild Life paper as my background paper but felt it needed a darker contrast so add torn notebook edge (cut file from the Silhouette Design store) using Starry Night paper and finished off by adding black sitting to these.

This is a ‘busy’ layout for me but I love how it turned out!

Tasmania | Great Escape collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new travel layout featuring the new Great Escape collection. I decided to document our recent trip to Tasmania, printing a total of 6 favourite photos all in a small format to create a vertical filmstrip look.

 

I chose 3 patterned papers to use for the background of my layout. I turned the Direction patterned paper over to show the green side, the Happy Camper patterned paper was left with the flags showing and I also turned the Horizon patterned paper to reveal the yellow suns. Once the papers were arranged and adhered, I placed the photo strip over to the right side of the layout.

For my title, I decided to spell the word Tasmania using the ‘Fun Times Ahead’ chipboard title. As I was spelling the word Tasmania in my head, I thought all of the letters were there in the 1 packet of chipboard except Tasmania has 3 A’s so I did have to open a new packet of the chipboard elements and steal one of the A’s from that pack! I placed the title along the top line of the Horizons paper and I also added one of the puffy titles under the chipboard title too.

Just above the Tasmania title, I placed one of the round die-cuts and also placed one of the banner stickers from the Accessory stickers through the centre of the photo strip. On the right of the photos at the top, I added the Let’s Go flag die-cut and bent up the edges slightly to add some texture. To the direct right of the photos at the bottom, I added the tree chipboard and layered one of the phrase stickers from the Accessory sticker sheet over the top. I also added more of the phrase stickers above the Tasmania title.

Once the larger elements were added to my page, I added some of the smaller elements including one of the banner chipboard pieces below the Let’s Go title and I created a cluster of embellishments at the very top of the page using stickers from the Accessory sticker sheet and a puffy sticker too. I added a couple more puffy stickers and finished by freehand drawing a border around the outside using my journal pen, stamping the date stamp and sprinkling some black mist to finish.

WILD THING ! | GREAT ESCAPE | SOPHIE DELORME

Hello friends!

It’s Sophie with you today and I am excited to share my very first layout with the new Great Escape collection!

 

As soon as I saw it, I knew exactly which photo to document with it!!

I started with a white background and the Starry Night paper to place my photo and embellishments.

I mounted the photo on tissue paper, adhesive foam and a few layers of patterned papers from the A5 Paper Stack.

I placed the photo on the right side of the page, and added white gesso on the left side where I was about to build a little scenery.

I selected a few embellishments from the Die Cut Ephemera pack like the trees, signage and tent to support the theme of the layout, and scattered numerous stars around the photo and title (Foam Title Stickers).

 

I completed the page with a few stickers from the Accessory Stickers sheet, and handwrote my journaling directly on the white background.

Adventure | Great Escape collection | Tarrah McLean

It’s Tarrah here with you today to share my first layout using the awesome Great Escape collection!

I decided to create a layout featuring a large A4 photo taken from the bridge over the amazing Cataract Gorge in Tasmania from our recent trip visiting Tassie. The Great Escape collection was the perfect collection to focus mainly on the photo for this layout and layering lots of the elements straight on top of my photo.

I started out with a plain sheet of white cardstock and placed my large photo in the very centre of the cardstock. I left the edges free of adhesive so that I could place the papers down the sides. I then cut some paper strips from the ‘B’ side of the ‘Happy Camper’ patterned paper and the ‘B’ side of the ‘Direction’ patterned paper, placing these vertically, the ‘Direction’ paper was placed at the outer edge and the ‘Happy Camper’ paper closer to the photo. I then fussy cut the scallops from the ‘Wild Life’ patterned paper and tucked this piece in on the left-hand side and bent the edges up to add some dimension.

My title is the ‘Adventure’ title from the chipboard pack, I placed it down the bottom of the page, in the centre of photo and also placed one of the circle die-cuts from the ephemera pack just above the chipboard title. I took 2 of the stickers from the Accessory Sticker sheet and placed these below the chipboard title. I journaled the location and the date on the smaller sticker.

On the right-hand side I placed 2 more of the chipboard pieces to help balance the scallops from the left-hand hand side. I placed one of the phrase stickers from the Accessory Sticker sheet layered over the top of these pieces. I also placed one of the enamel dots from the enamel shapes pack here.

At the top of the photo, I placed the ‘Wild by Nature’ die-cut using foam tape to add dimension to the page. I also placed another of the enamel dots over the top of the arrows on this die-cut.  This collection is perfect for your travel and outdoor adventures such as camping, road trips, hiking, fishing, walking, running or even documenting the boys in your life! I hope you get a chance to purchase this awesome collection to create some projects of your own!

Great Outdoors | Great Escape Collection | Rachel Lowe

Hello and welcome to my first layout created with the fabulous new collection Great Escape!

I love this photo of my eldest boy and his puppy (which of course when he moved out we ended having lol!!!) and knew it would fit perfectly with this collection.

I found this great cut file in the Silhouette design store and went from there. I used the Starry Night paper as the background piece to create the illusion of the sky and then Journey paper for the trees. I added the tree paper piece with foam tape to add dimension. Before adding this to my white cardstock which is cut at 10×10 inches I added a paint wash background.

And now for the fun part, embellishing! I added my photo which is a 6×4 inch landscape photo. I did my title at this point using the Foam Title Stickers. I then set about creating three embellishment clusters around my photo.

I added black stars from the Foam Title Stickers sheet, ephemera die cut pack and puffy sticker sheet. This adds varying textures to your layout and prevents it from look ‘flat’.

I layered die cuts both under and over the green tree cut file. Here you can see I added a phrase sentiment over the combi van and how I added the Out and About flag behind the tree cut file.

Don’t be afraid to add elements on your photo, it is a great way to tie everything together and as you can see here it does not distract from my actual photo.

Lastly I covered my photo with a scrap piece of paper to protect it and splattered the blue paint wash over my layout. I used another phrase sentiment as my sub journalling from the Accessory Sticker sheet.

I love how this turned out. The colours of this collection are perfect for any outdoor themed layout you want to create!
