Hello everyone!

Mandy here today to share a new layout with you! This week on the blog, the design team have been tasked with scraplifting themselves. This was a fun assignment, and I have to say, I really enjoyed looking back at past projects that I’ve created using the beautiful Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections. I decided to recreate a layout I made back in 2018 using the gorgeous Bohemian Dream collection…

For my new project, I chose to use the lovely These Days collection to document a recent photo of my eldest daughter…

When creating my new layout I stuck very close to the design of my original layout, making use of the 3×4 inch Pocket Cards to create a grid. As with my original layout, I added multiple layers behind each section of the grid and adhered them at a slight angle to give the layout lots of interest and depth. I decided on using the beautiful Daybreak paper as my background and I love the soft mixed media look that this adds to the page.

Using my original layout as a guide again, I added my photo to the top right section of the grid. I layered a Pocket Card, as well as a paper from the A5 Paper Stack behind the photo, and then adhered it using craft foam for added dimension. As on the the original layout, I added some embellishing to the right of the photo, including some Die Cuts as well as a beautiful Gold Glitter Puffy Heart. I also added a couple of little flowers that I fussy cut out of one of the A5 papers. In choosing the embellishments for this page, I really wanted to include some icons and images that had relevance to my daughter. I therefore decided to include the mug, to signify her love of tea, and the typewriter, because she’s an amazingly talented creative writer. I like to include little things like that on my pages, that are significant to the person I’m creating the layout about.

For my title I decided on using the phrase ‘Sweet you’ from the beautiful Foam Title Stickers. I added this underneath my photo, in the same place where I’d included the wood veneer word on the original layout. I adore the lovely scripty font, and the dark title helps to balance out the darkness in the background of the photo.

I added another embellishment cluster to the pocket card in the bottom left section of the grid, creating a diagonal flow from the cluster in the top right. Again I used my original page as a guide, which made the whole process very easy! In this cluster I included some more Die Cuts and Floral Ephemera, as well as another Gold Glitter Puffy Heart. Of course I had to include that cute stack of books to signify my daughter’s love of reading. I also used the sweet Mini Puffy Alpha Stickers as part of my journaling on this Pocket Card.

To finish the layout off, I added a couple of butterflies, which were fussy cut from an A5 Paper, and a sprinkling of enamel dots from the Legendary collection.

Sweet Daisy | These Days | Michelle Stokes

Hello Hello! It’s Michelle back here today with a new layout to share, and a slightly different subject to scrapbook than the usual continuous layout shares of Leila. The past few days my fellow DT Members have been sharing some really awesome ways to add journalling to their layouts in a creative way, and today its my turn to share. I’ve used a mix of our more recent collections These Days and Sunkissed, plus one paper from the Boys Rule collection.

As you can see, a new addition to our family is on its way. This one is of the furry kind and she’s oh so cute! We’ve named her Daisy and cant wait to welcome her into our home. I wanted to document the first time we met this sweet little pup, and I think this layout was a perfect way to do so.

To begin the layout I found an awesome 3D cut file design on Etsy and cut it out using the Happy Go Lucky paper from the Boys Rule collection. The perfect shade of textured black to use for a 3D style cut file. Each individual piece is adhered together using foam tape to give it the dimensional 3D look. I added a couple of fussy cut flowers in place of a collar from the Home Grown paper (These Days Collection)

Now we can’t have a cute puppy on a page without a sweet little dog house can we?

Using the woodgrain pattern side of the Pretty Posies paper I’ve constructed a dog house using a concertina fold for the main structure. This gives it a more dimensional look, similar to what a real dog house might look like. I added a rainbow pattern dog bed (Family Ties paper), some flowers (Home Grown Paper) out the front and a name plate using a label tag from the Good Life paper along with some puffy alphabet stickers.

Heres some close ups of that sweet puppy face. She’s grown and changed a lot since these photos were taken, and I cant wait to document the next visit.

I printed the photos at around 2x3inch size and adhered them to the layout using some foam. Underneath these I’ve added the sweet heart paper from the back of the Good Life paper and sewn around the edges for a little extra detail. Tucked into this cluster are more mini flowers growing out of the “grass” (Family Ties paper) a cute puffy gold glitter heart, accessory sticker and cut apart ticket from the Good Life paper. Theres also a mini Butterly (Take Flight A5 paper) to match the 2 above the dog house and a strip of hearts which is another cut apart piece from the Good Life Paper.

In regards to journalling, I’ve kept it pretty simple. It’s not often that I add journalling to my layouts these days and when I do its not very substantial. So I thought I would share a way to get creative, when you don’t have a lot to write.

I’ve used one of the frames from the Wall of Fame paper to create a thought bubble, hovering over the dog in amongst the clouds to add a couple sentences about our time with her the other week. These are all adhered using foam tape to give them all a little dimension in the top corner. The clouds and sun can be found in the Sunkissed Collection Ephemera pack.

Lastly I added a sprinkling of gold ink around the layout and a couple of hand drawn bubble dots to connect the thought bubble to the sweet little dog.

Lovely Day | These Days | Rachel Lowe

Hello scrappy friends today I am sharing a 8.5×11 inch layout documenting my beautiful children when they were younger! I have used the beautiful These Days collection.

I like to mix things up and so I decided to create a 8.5×11 inch layout instead of the traditional 12×12 ice layout. The great benefit of this is that I have used the 6×8 paper pad instead of cutting into my 12×12 inch papers. I used the same three papers at the top and bottom of my layout but changed the order for visual interest. When I adhere torn paper strips I never glue the top part so I can go back and add elements.

I added black machine stitching to these paper strips to add a stark contrast and texture. I created a floral cluster to the top paper strips, layering them over each other, tucking in extra leaf die cuts, puff sticker florals finished off with a wooden epoxy flair.

Again I embellished the bottom paper strips, adding die cuts and puffy stickers finishing off with a Accessory sticker phrase sentiment. Layering your embellishments in the different paper strips creates a beautiful cluster that your eye is drawn too.

Before adding my photo I added some texture paste using a dot stencil. I usually buy white texture paste and then add acrylic paint with the colour I want, it certainly is a way to save money buying lots of different coloured pastes. I matted my. photo again from papers in the 6×8 inch paper pad, when you background is white a contrast is needed. I added two of the gorgeous gold glitter puffy hearts to contrast against the dot stencil.

I used both the foam word titles and puffy alphas, again I wanted to create a stark contrast against the white and using two different types of alphas creates dimension. I added a tiny phrase sentiment from the puffy stickers and added directly under my photo. Lastly I added some butterflies around my page, some from the clear sticker sheet and the other from the die cut pack.

I enjoyed creating this layout, simple but pretty! As always thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful and creative week!

Hello creative paperlovers,
Welcome and so happy to see you at the Cocoa Vanilla blog today. It’s Josefine here and share with you a new layout that I made with this amazing collection ” These Days”

I really wanted to work with these super cute puffy stickers and the shimmering gold hearts. I thought it would be fun to make a wreath and used the golden hearts in the center of these paper flowers.

I first draw a circle with a pencil on my white cardstock background. Then I stamped several times with the Distress Oxide color “evergreen bough”
I use a background clear stamp and print several times. Until I have a green circle in the middle. I mix the Distress Oxide with water and with a water brush I splash several times.

It’s time to make a wreath and I used the flowers and leaves from the “Floral ephemera” set
I put everything in a circle and used the punch floral set from We R keeping memories to punch out the five flowers from the design paper. In the center of these paper flowers I paste a gold heart. These flowers look so cute.

I punch out some more leaves from the green colored designer paper and slide them between the homemade paper flowers. I decorate my wreath with butterflies, wooden buttons and of course the puffy stickers. I place several puffy stickers between the leaves. Everything together gives such a festive effect. Really I love it. I cut out the photo in a circle and also cut out design paper in the shape of a circle. I use my sewing machine and stitch the edges. Then I place the photo in the center of the wreath. Finally I splash some white acrylic paint and gold acrylic ink on my page. So happy how this layout turned out.

Our Sweet Little Family | These Days collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends,

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new scrapbook layout featuring the gorgeous NEW These Days collection. I have chosen to scrapbook a family photo of myself, my hubby and our 2 sons.

I decided to start by cutting out a title cut file design from CUT to YOU from white cardstock. I then was able to take different patterned papers from the A5 paper stack and backed the words with a different paper. I chose to only back two of the larger hearts with a pink A5 paper also. It takes a little time to back a cut file like this so I normally do this while watching a movie with the family.

Once the cut file was all backed, I adhered it down onto another sheet of white cardstock, trimming down the cardstock to back the entire layout onto the ‘B’ side of the Wall of Fame paper. Once adhered I then machine stitched a border around the edge, I love the added touch of texture this adds to my page.

The best place to add my photo was to the right of the title, I did have to cover some of the hearts in the cut file but I would rather that than cover the title. I layered one of the 3′ x 4′ journal cards underneath my photo and adhered the Together die-cut word from the ephemera pack right on top of the photo, this helped to disguise and cover an unattractive part of the photo. Next it was time for my favourite part – embellishing!! I added embellishments including die-cuts, puffy stickers, a wood epoxy bead, accessory stickers, a gold puffy heart and clear stickers.

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new layout featuring the stunning new These Days collection!

I am documenting a sweet photo of my sister and her family and this week we are focusing on the gorgeous puffy alphabet stickers and the black foam title stickers from the collection.

I decided to go with a circular design to showcase the gorgeous puffy alphabet stickers, I traced a circle using a dinner plate and pencil, I then spelt out some family/together themed words placing these around the circle. I then took the stunning gold puffy hearts and adhered these between each word. I rubbed out the pencil marks with an eraser.

I layered some of the 3′ x 4′ cards under my photo and adhered these slightly to the right and the top of the circle design. On the right of the photo I created a small cluster of embellishments including some floral ephemera pieces, puffy stickers, an epoxy wood bead and a clear sticker. To showcase the foam title stickers I chose the word ‘Together’ for my title and adhered this word below my photo, overlapping the photo slightly. I took a few of the phrase stickers from the Accessory sticker sheet and placed these under my photo to help tell the story.

On the left of my photo I created a slightly larger cluster here as there was a little more room for placement. I tucked in quite a few floral ephemera pieces and the super cute typewriter die-cut. To add some more of the foam title stickers I added a few of the small leaf foam pieces tucking them into various places, I really like the pop of black this adds to my page.

Above my photo I added the sticker that says, ‘Together is the Best Place To Be’ as it was perfect for the theme of my page and it also fitted perfectly above my photo.

Lastly I stamped the date stamp and finished off by adding a few last small heart puffy stickers.

Sweet Memories | These Days Collection | Rachel Lowe

Hi CVS friends! I am having so much fun creating with the new These Days collection. I love the black foam title stickers and puffy alphas and these are the focus of my layout today.

I have documented my families love of Lemon Meringue pie which my husband makes. I found this gorgeous cooking apron cut file in the Silhouette Design store. I used the Daybreak paper as my background paper, it’s a great choice when using a white background paper would be too stark. I used Pretty Posies and Wall of Fame papers to create my apron. I added it with foam tape to create a 3D effect.

Embellishing the apron was such fun! On the oven kit I add one of the gold glitter puffy hearts and created my title using ‘sweet’ word from the black foam title stickers and ‘memories’ word from the puffy stickers. I love how the black contrasts against the colours of the apron. I finished off adding a floral wood epoxy button. I also added machine stitching on the border of my apron and used some ribbon from my stash.

Once I added my photo slightly under my apron I used the puffy alphas to create a sub title, I used various colours for visual interest. I used a phrase sentiment from the accessory stickers which I placed on my actual photo which also added some contrast against the yellow of my photo.

I love the CVS clear stickers and I always run out of these first! On this layout I used two paint brush strokes, they really add a mixed media feel (without the mess of course). At the end of creating a layout I always leave it overnight and then the next day go back with fresh eyes and add finishing touches, here I added some puffy sticker butterflies, flowers from the floral ephemera pack.

I really love how this turned out and that I have documented another family moment to one day look back on. Thank you for popping in today and I hope you have a wonderful and crafty week ahead.
