Hello | Unforgettable Collection | Michelle Stokes

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Michelle back here today with a fresh new layout using the super sweet Unforgettable collection and some oh so adorable photos of Leila from a few years back. I went all out with loads of pink for our current Think Pink theme, in honour of Pink Ribbon day. There are so many variations of pink within this collection, and it was hard not to use it all.

I started the layout by cutting the loopy hearts cut file from CUT to YOU on the reverse of UNSCRIPTED paper. I also used the same pattern as the backing/border for the layout.

I chose 2 sweet photos of Leila and printed them in B&W and slightly different sizes, framed one using the photo frame from the Happiness Collection ephemera pack, and adhered them over the right side of the cut file piece using foam tape. I tucked all the floral elements and ephemera pieces (some are fussy cut from the 6×8 GLORIOUS paper) under the frame to the left of the layout using different forms of adhesive for loads of dimension. I also tucked in a heart from the heart wreath cut file I used on a previous layout that complimented the subtle hints of turquoise I’ve added in to break up all the pink. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE pink, but theres only so much one lover of pink can handle HAHA

Over on the right side of the photos I added an extra ephemera piece and some text pattern paper from the 6×8 paper stack, its the same design as the reverse of PRETTY BITS just in the smaller design. I altered a large floral ephemera piece to create a smaller cluster for the bottom of the photo.

Kept the title super simple using a foam title piece and accessory sticker, then a couple of enamel dots and a sweet butterfly to finish it off

Lastly up in the top left corner I’ve added a black foam heart, enamel dots and accessory sticker before splattering the layout with 2 different colours of pink inks.

Girl Squad | Unforgettable Collection | Rachel Lowe

Hey friends Rachel here. Do you ever create a layout and then your are not sure if you love it!  Well I ended up creating two layouts this month because of this (it’s a Virgo thing lol!), anyway I will let you choose which version of my Girl Squad layout you like the most. So here is the first one I created. I wanted it to be soft and very girly and hence went for lots of white, pink and flowers.And here. is version two! I decided to go bold and bright, ensuring my lettering really stood out which I felt it got a little lost in the first version of the layout. The only drawback was I had to convert my photo to black and white, which I think lessens the beauty of the shot.On both layouts I have used Story Teller paper as my base so there was a slight contrast with the black dots instead of a flat white. My second version I have used a turquoise cardstock, cutting the Story Teller paper down to 11×11 inches. I also used the same cardstock to cut Girl Squad cut file. on my Silhouette Cameo, in my first layout I used white to cut the Girl Squad cut file.I used the beautiful Forget Me Not paper  to paper piece the Girl Squad cut file, wanting a smaller print so I could use some of the larger floral die cuts without them getting ‘lost’.From the 6×8 inch paper pad I used the Lacewing paper and fussy cut numerous butterflies. I wanted smaller butterflies hence why I used the sheet in the 6×8 inch pad and not the 12×12 paper. I added these with foam tape to create a 3d effect.I chose the largest floral bunch from the die cut ephemera pack and added in a way you could still see the lettering. Again I did this with foam tape to add dimension. I added some of the pink and turquoise enamel dots to flowers and under some of the butterfly wings.Before adding my photo I used some of the paint blotches from the Clear Sticker Sheet (I adore the clear stickers so much!) to ‘frame’ my photo and draw your eye to it. I used foam tape to attach my photo. I finished off adding some phrase stickers from the Accessory Sticker Sheet. 

So there you have it, only one difference in papers used but the over all effect if quite different! Thank you for stopping by today and have a wonderful creative week.

Bloom | Unforgettable layout | Anna Komenda

Hello CVS fans. It’s Anna here with my newest layout featuring new product in Cocoa Vanilla family. “Unforgettable” collection – the newest line designed by Zoe – features two new products. One of them is a set of foam words and second it a pretty package of bows and tassels. And this is what I will be focusing on today.

My favorite way of using any tassels is to add them to the mini albums covers creating dimensional embellishments hanging freely on the side. I also like to create garlands with paper elements and real tassels on the pages. I decided to use this second idea on my layout.

I cut out two big tags from papers with wooden pattern (did I mentioned how much I love wooden patterns?) and added stitching around them. Next step was to put a colorful string through the holes of the tags adding all four tassels from the packaging. I created kind of a lose loops and glues the string to the base paper. I wanted to use this pretty white paper with black words for a while and it was a perfect occasion.

To make the garland more complex I added two smaller tags – one from ephemera pack and one from sticker sheet. I finished the composition by adding pretty flowers here and there plus some smaller elements from ephemera pack.  I also fussy cut a lot of butterflies from one of the pattern papers.

Two bows closing the composition from top and the bottom were added at the end as my final touch. I am so in love with this new “Unforgettable” line. I feel so inspired by the patterns, flowers and cute embellishments.

Hello crafty Friends. It’s Anna here with another project made with brand new “Unforgettable” collection. I made another layout but it’s not surprise for you :) Once again I combined white background and a lot of layers of papers. I also used flowers as they are so pretty and tempting. Luckily I have two girls at home so I can use florals with almost all of my projects.

Just look how pretty they are:

Pink paper called “Unscripted” was perfect to cut few roses and mix them with ephemera flowers. I set my machine to cut them and worked with my background in the meantime. I used blue Distress Oxide ink and applied it through stencil. Next step was to add some water to make it look more dreamy.

I used a strip of fun pictures of me and my daughter using filters. I love those mini photo sessions of us two. I backed my picture with a lot of paper layers. Using 6*8 paper stack helped me save my 12*12 papers :) I also fussy cut three big butterflies from paper called “Pretty bits”.

My title is a combination of amazing foam titles and some older black alpha stickers. I also added few transparent stickers here and there on the background. It’s a good way to add some special touch to white layout base.

I finished my page by splashing everything with pink and black inks. This kind of little mess is my signature style :) That is all for today. Hi Cocoa Vanilla Studio Friends & Fans!

Amanda here, & today I am sharing a super pretty layout with our beautiful new UNFORGETTABLE collection. You’ll spy lots of fussy cutting, butterflies and blooms and discover which pattern paper is my new favorite! But enough chatter, here’s my latest creation with UNFORGETTABLE…..

“Love This” 

Sigh! Love this, indeed! Such a beautiful layout of my two darlings!

And as for my new favorite pattern paper? Well, it has to be that divine wreath paper, CV-003 GARLAND – gosh it’s so super pretty!!! You’ll notice that I actually used two sheets of CV-003 GARLAND to create today’s scrapbook page!

I started my layout with GARLAND as the base, but wanted to do a little more to highlight it’s magnificence. I loved the mint arc in the wreath, and decided to ‘fill’ inside the wreath with this very same colour (which happens to be the reverse side of – you guessed it, the GARLAND paper! ). To fill this space, I used a Cut To You cut file called, Flower Circle and backed the flowers and leaves with an assortment of papers from the 6 x 8 PAPER STACK.  Next, I backed the entire circle with the reverse side of GARLAND – I just love mint watercolor wash of this pattern! Here’s a closer look….

As I’d already cut into a second sheet of GARLAND, I decided to make the most of it, and fussy cut the floral section of the wreath. I foam mounted both the cut file and fussy cut blooms, and adhered them to the layout. I positioned the Flower Circle in the center of the wreath, and layered the fussy cut GARLAND blooms around the edge of it. By doing this, it revealed the original wreath below, and created the appearance of a thicker & fuller arrangement of blooms. Gor-jus!!!

Aren’t those florals just errrrything?!! LOVE!

I tucked my darling photograph into the top right section of both the cut file & fussy cut wreath, and embellished it with the ‘smile’ FLAIR BUTTON. Next, I fussy cut a large pink butterfly from pattern paper, CV-UF004 PRETTY BITS and tucked it beneath my photo. To enhance this decoration, I added two more butterflies around my photo – a CLEAR STICKER butterfly, and a DIE CUT EPHEMERA piece!

There’s no denying that UNFORGETTABLE is the prettiest release of 2019! So.much.gorgeousness!!!

The new FOAM TITLE STICKERS are all kinds of awesomeness too! I curved my love this title around the outer edge of the wreath arc, and then embellished with a couple more butterflies…

For finishing touches, I added a tiny spot of journaling with the sentiment stickers from the ACCESSORY STICKERS sheet.

Simple, beautiful creating with the new UNFORGETTABLE collection!

Unforgettable You | Unforgettable Collection | Rachel Lowe

Hi all today I have a layout featuring the new and stunning UNFORGETTABLE collection. It is just too stunning for words!

I started with a cut file from The Cut Shoppe, loving this heart cut file as it meant I could add several papers from the collection. I used the beautiful Glorious paper to paper piece the left side of the heart. I chose two paper to paper piece the right side of the heart, Garland and Unscripted.

I used the left over floral bunch on the reverse of the Garland paper, fussy cutting to use on my layout. I cut down my white cardstock to 10×10 inches and centred it onto the Sprightly paper. I added my photo slightly off centre matting on the Sprightly paper adding with foam tape. I added a tab to the top of my photo and the So Beautiful sentiment from the die cut ephemera pack and finishing off adding a enamel dot next to the sentiment sticker.

I then added the fussy cut floral bunch to the right of my photo and adding the water colour brush stroke from the clear sticker sheet. For a girl who find mixed media a bit to messy lol, these clear stickers are fab for creating a mixed media feel without the mess!

I added some of the gorgeous die cut ephemera butterflies to the left side of the heart in a way they appear to be flying up and away.

Lastly I created a small embellishment cluster at the bottom of my page, again adding another paint splotch clear stickers and adding the die cut camera over it, adding also an enamel dot to the lens of the camera and finished off with a sentiment phrase from the accessory stickers.

I added a splatter of black paint lightly over my page to break the contrast of the white. I so love the pretty and girly feel of this layout that really highlight the photo of my daughter.  I adore the colour hues of this collection, pink and turquoise swoon!

And before I go I just wanted to share a gift bag I created using Unforgettable and turquoise cardstock, finished off with a super cute tassel from the collection!

Throwback Thursday with a Retro Hip Twist | More Than Words | Amanda Baldwin

Hi Friends!

Amanda here for more Cocoa Vanilla Studio inspiration! Today I am sharing a slightly different take on the Throwback Thursday post!

That’s right folks! I have been getting my ‘retro’ on and created a Cocoa Vanilla Studio: MORE THAN WORDS delight for Issue 8 of Retro Hip Magazine! Yay!!!

Normally you have to purchase the magazine to see the full projects, but as a special treat for all of you, I have the editor’s permission to share this wonderful layout,

“Sweet Thing”

Oh my heart!

Isn’t this stunning?!! Throwback Thursday never looked so fresh & new! Such an exquisite page!

This layout was created for a special feature on how to make white space work for your designs. I just LOVE using white space to draw attention to my photos, and maximize overall design interest. I used one of my all time favorite Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections; MORE THAN WORDS, some light mixed media and a whole lotta fussy cutting to create this lovely layout. In the meantime, here’s how I made this beautiful layout….

I started with 12 x 12″ white cardstock which I trimmed to 12 x 11 1/2″. Next, I machine stitched a half inch strip of pattern paper, CV-MT001 PRECIOUS onto the right hand side of the layout. I used the packaging technique with a pretty peach paint, and added a few splatters too! While this dried, I began fussy cutting butterflies from pattern papers, CV-MT003 GOSSAMER, CV-MT004 COLLAGE, & CV-MT006 TREASURE. I also fussy cut the sweet thing wreath from the TREASURE paper too. I then arranged the butterflies, with my sweet photo onto the peach watercolor base.

Here’s a closer look….

I tucked in a few DIE CUT EPHEMERA blooms into the photo cluster, and added a DIE CUT sentiment banner onto my photograph too. SO pretty!!!

Next I added that fussy cut sweet thing wreath, and a CHIPBOARD STICKER butterfly….

So many pretty details!

You’ll notice that I used a few pretty sequins from my stash (including those butterflies!), as well as a good sprinkling of the MORE THAN WORDS ENAMEL SHAPES. 

For the finishing touch, I fussy cut the sweet heart sentiment from pattern paper, CV-MT006 TREASURE, and layered it over one of the butterflies with foam tape. I just love how effective this looks!

Such a pretty page for my sweet girl!

Bloom & Grow | Unforgettable | Amanda Baldwin

Hi Cocoa Vanilla Studio Friends!

Amanda here, & I am beyond excited to be sharing my very first creation with our stunning new UNFORGETTABLE collection!

There are so many gorgeous papers and endless possibilities with this collection, and I wanted to showcase a few of them!

Here’s what I created,

“Bloom & Grow” 

 

Oh wow! Isn’t this just divine?!!

When I first saw the UNFORGETTABLE collection, I was immediately struck by the cleverness of Zoe Pearn – a floral collection that reflected both Spring & Fall! Florals and blooms to suit both hemispheres – sheer brilliance! I was also impressed by the whimsical & somewhat bohemian feel that UNFORGETTABLE evoked!

With Fall as my favorite season, I just had to create an Autumnal page for my sweet girl! Here’s a closer look for you….

Gosh it’s so pretty!!!

For that warm & outdoorsy feel, I used the lovely CV-UF008 NATURAL BEAUTY woodgrain pattern paper as my layout base. Next I added the two large concentric hearts to the center of the page. The larger heart is a beautiful vermilion floral pattern paper from the reverse side of CV-UF005 LACEWING. Did I mention it had my heart swooning?! Such a rich and elegant pattern design – LOVE!!! The smaller heart is cut from simple white cardstock. With a ‘clean’ white base, attention is drawn immediately to my photograph – perfect!

I positioned my darling daughter’s picture onto a base of 3 x 4 note cards which I cut from pattern paper, CV-UF004 PRETTY BITS, and then glued the layers to the center of the page. For the embellishments tucked in and around my photo, I started with 3 larger fussy cut butterflies. These were also cut from the CV-UF004 LOVELY BITS paper (& yes, I used two sheets of this paper so that I could keep to my color scheme). Next I added that fabulous FLAIR BUTTON love this, & the two DIE CUT EPHEMERA pieces. And lastly, the CLEAR STICKER leaves tucked under the layers, and that super sweet butterfly to the bottom of the cluster. That smaller butterfly, and the others that you spy on my page, were all fussy cut from pattern paper CV-005 LACEWING – that paper may be my number one pick from this collection! SO incredibly beautiful!

Simply stunning!

As you travel around the layout, you’ll notice all the LACEWING fussy cut butterflies either tucked in or on the hearts. I include DIE CUT EPHEMERA blooms, foliage & even an arrow or two for added interest. CLEAR STICKERS also adorn the embellishment clusters and enhance the heart design.

The new FOAM TITLE STICKERS were the perfect go-to option for my layout title. The swirly font is super pretty, and the black foam is really striking on the woodgrain paper. I am also impressed with how easily they were to remove from the packaging, and to apply to my project. A new favorite product to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio range!

I arranged the ‘grow’ part of my title at the base of my layout, and adorned it with a couple of leafy fronds from the DIE CUT EPHEMERA pack…

Those FOAM TITLE STICKERS are really somethin’!

So many beautiful papers and embellishments!

For a finished look, I scattered a few white ENAMEL DOTS throughout the design.

YOU ARE SPECIAL | UNFORGETTABLE | GWEN WRUCK

Hi Creative Friends,

Gwen with you on the blog today and I’m crazy crazy excited to be using the beautiful new ‘Unforgettable’ collection!  Seriously, this collection is just divine!  I actually get quite nervous working with a new collection, I want to be sure I do it justice.  I imagine how much work Zoe has put into designing it and I don’t want to let her down.  I have to say though, this one was so so easy to work with straight away, I’m already calling it a real contender as my favourite of all time.

I began the page with some fussy cutting, as I mentioned, I do sometimes struggle knowing where to start with oh so many pretty choices, so a bit of fussy cutting is a great way to ease myself into it.  I fussy cut out the four butterflies from the ‘Pretty Bits’ pattern paper.  I then decided on my photo and went to the ‘6×8 inch paper stack’ and mounted it with the bright pink pattern ‘Unscripted’.

Next, I decided to use a plain white cardstock for my base but wanted to add some colour.  I’ve taken a stencil and added some watercolour spray.  Once dry, I’ve chosen a cut file, this one from CUT to YOU for my title.  Yes, there are the most divine foam title stickers in the collection, but I’m currently hoarding those!  Again, I’ve used the paper stack to alternate pattern papers to back each letter.  I love that for this collection the papers are not glued together into a pad, they are all individual sheets so it is super easy to pull them all out to audition each design before you commit to anything.

Once my cut file was all backed and looking lovely, I’ve position onto my background with some foam tape.  Now it was time to look through all of the pretty embellishments.

I’ve started with the Ephemera pack, which has 65 pieces, including florals and butterflies and banners and auditioned EVERYTHING, it is all so so nice! As well as the ‘Bows and Tassles’ pack, there was no way I wasn’t going to include a bow on this first page!  I’ve also matched the ‘Enamel dots’ from the collection with the pop of the pink in the pattern paper.

I thought it best to lock in the position of my large fussy cut butterflies first and then work in the smaller elements.  I did end up with just the three for this page. I did find a matching butterfly from the ephemera pack which was the perfect fit as it was quite a bit smaller than the others.

I’ve added in some florals to the left and right of my photo as well as a pretty little cluster of banners and florals above the right-hand side of my photo.  I find this gives the eye three places to rest as it moves around the page and really rounds out the design.  Lastly, I added in the bow and the enamel dots and called it done.

Happiness Is | Happiness Collection | Michelle Stokes

Hello Friends, Its Michelle back again with a bonus layout share for this month! I’m trying to crank out as many pretty layouts as I can using the beautiful Happiness Collection before the brand new Unforgettable collection arrives on my doorstep and all other collections are forgotten HAHA

The layout was inspired by a sweet photo of a few familiar faces from this years Creative Escape Retreat in Coffs Harbour. LOVE LOVE LOVE spending time with these lovely ladies and it was SO good to meet Anna in person

To begin the layout I cut out the Floral Banner cut file from CUT to YOU using white cardstock and backed it using block colours of bright patterns Good Vibes, Expressive & Frame of Mind. The main banner piece is backed using the multicolour spot paper Sprinkles and layered together with a strip of vellum and the woodgrain pattern of the Bright & Beautiful paper. I also cut the florals off the main banner rather than keeping them as one whole piece. This gave an extra layer of depth and dimension. We all know I love small hints of dimension on a layout!

The photo is adhered to the reverse pattern of Botanical Bliss with the addition of a couple of ephemera pieces to create part of the cluster top right.

I had a handful of florals and butterflies, fussy cut from previous layouts, that I added to the florals of the die cut. I tucked in a couple of leaves from the ephemera pack too

I fussy cut a few more florals from the Botanical Bliss paper to tuck into various places of the layout adding hints of orange. There’s also a couple of clear stickers added here n there

The title is made using a couple of accessory stickers and cardstock title piece, raised slightly using glue dots.

Lastly a few splatters of gold ink, a date stamp and handwritten journalling and it was finished.
