Foam Title Stickers

Hello everyone!

Mandy here today to share another layout using the gorgeous new Unforgettable collection! I’ve used a lot of the beautiful bright pink on my layouts so far using this collection, so this time I decided to focus on the coral and mint colours, along with that lovely woodgrain patterned paper. I love this colour combination, and I think it works perfectly with this selfie of Eleanor and I!

I started by trimming down the Natural Beauty woodgrain patterned paper to about 9 1/4 inches square, and adhering it to the middle of my white cardstock background. I then added some machine stitching around the edge, and distressed the edges a little as well to give it some additional texture.

Next I fussy cut a couple of the floral clusters out of the Glorious patterned paper and I arranged them vertically down the page to make one large floral cluster. I chose clusters that had more of the coral and mint colours in them, and then covered any of the pink flowers with floral die cuts that matched my colour scheme. To bulk out the cluster even more, I tucked some additional die cut leaves and flowers around it, and I also added some leaves that I cut on my Cameo using the Unforgettable Cut Files.

I matted my photo with the reverse side of the Natural Beauty patterned paper, and I also tucked a 3×4″ piece that I cut out of the Pretty Bits patterned paper under the left hand side. To add a little bit more interest to the left hand side of the photo I also added a little flag banner sticker under the side of the photo and I adhered a flair button on the edge.

For my title, I once again couldn’t go past using the awesome Foam Title Stickers. I love the contrast that they add, and the scripty font is so pretty! I also added a couple of the little foam black hearts around the layout to create a visual triangle with the black title. Above the title I adhered an aqua phrase sticker which I cut in half to make it two shorter pieces rather than one long one.

To finish the layout off, I added a couple of die cut butterflies, a sprinkling of white enamel dots, some gold ink splatters, and lastly, my typed journaling strips.

Hello Love | Unforgettable Collection | Guest Designer – Danni Visser

Hi scrappers!  Danni here with another layout for you using the incredible Unforgettable collection.  For this layout I gave in to my love of fussy cutting and mixed media – the butterflies were calling to me!  I started with white cardstock primed with gesso and used a combination of pink and purple watercolours to create a swirled pattern.  I included some shimmery paints and some gold spray ink to add some extra prettiness.  I decided on a circle shape for my photo to continue with the shape of the watercolour on the page.

Next, I went to town with my fussy cutting scissors and cut up a storm!  I fussy cut a bunch of the butterflies from both the 6×8 and 12×12 Lacewing papers and the large floral clusters and tiny flowers from 12×12 Glorious paper.  I bent the butterflies in the centre to create dimension and glued them down in clusters around the watercolour swirl, making sure to just add glue to the centre and keep those wings popped up.  They look like they could fly up off the page any second!  I sprinkled the teeny tiny flowers in amongst the butterflies – they are so sweet.

I glued my fussy-cut florals in two main clusters either side of my photo, overlapping them to keep it looking natural and add lots of lovely layers.  I finished off my floral clusters with some of the branches and flowers from the clear stickers to fill in any gaps.  The clear stickers are great for this!  The beautiful berry-coloured enamel dots were the perfect touch to round out my floral clusters.

For my title, of course I couldn’t go past the foam title words, but this time I decided to colour them. I used a mint acrylic paint for the base colour, then dry brushed over the top with dusty mauve to tie it in with the florals.  I love how this turned out!  The titles took the paint with no problems and look amazing.

The edges were looking a little plain and unfinished so I tore the page edges in three places, distressed them and layered the tiny floral pattern from the 6×8 paper pack behind so you can see the pattern peeking out.  This is one of my favourite techniques to do on a white background layout.

For the final finishing touch, I added some glass bead gel on top of the watercolour swirl between the butterflies and around my photo.  It dries clear and leaves a lovely subtle sparkle, especially on top of watercolour.  It’s so much fun to play with different mediums and see the different effects you can achieve.

Hello | Unforgettable Collection | Michelle Stokes

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Michelle back here today with a fresh new layout using the super sweet Unforgettable collection and some oh so adorable photos of Leila from a few years back. I went all out with loads of pink for our current Think Pink theme, in honour of Pink Ribbon day. There are so many variations of pink within this collection, and it was hard not to use it all.

I started the layout by cutting the loopy hearts cut file from CUT to YOU on the reverse of UNSCRIPTED paper. I also used the same pattern as the backing/border for the layout.

I chose 2 sweet photos of Leila and printed them in B&W and slightly different sizes, framed one using the photo frame from the Happiness Collection ephemera pack, and adhered them over the right side of the cut file piece using foam tape. I tucked all the floral elements and ephemera pieces (some are fussy cut from the 6×8 GLORIOUS paper) under the frame to the left of the layout using different forms of adhesive for loads of dimension. I also tucked in a heart from the heart wreath cut file I used on a previous layout that complimented the subtle hints of turquoise I’ve added in to break up all the pink. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE pink, but theres only so much one lover of pink can handle HAHA

Over on the right side of the photos I added an extra ephemera piece and some text pattern paper from the 6×8 paper stack, its the same design as the reverse of PRETTY BITS just in the smaller design. I altered a large floral ephemera piece to create a smaller cluster for the bottom of the photo.

Kept the title super simple using a foam title piece and accessory sticker, then a couple of enamel dots and a sweet butterfly to finish it off

Lastly up in the top left corner I’ve added a black foam heart, enamel dots and accessory sticker before splattering the layout with 2 different colours of pink inks.

Unforgettable Card Set | Guest Designer – Shannah Bartle

Hi everyone!

It’s Shannah Bartle here, and I’m so excited to be a Guest Designer with the fabulous Cocoa Vanilla Design Team! I’ve created three cards for you today, using the gorgeous new ‘Unforgettable’ collection. This is such a beautiful range, with a fantastic variety of paper patterns and fun coordinating elements.

For my first card I wanted to create an easel card and thought the cute polaroid frame from the Die Cut Ephemera pack the was just perfect for the pop-up piece! When the card is folded flat the polaroid feature is framed by the stunning floral 6×8” papers…

… And once opened the polaroid frame, backed with aqua paper, sits up nicely showing off the Accessory Stickers and Die Cut Elements.

The inside of the card is covered with wood panel paper, and I’ve used a strip of crochet lace and two heart Foam Title Stickers as a ‘stopper’. I heat embossed a sentiment from Uniquely Creative’s All Occasions stamp set onto aqua paper and framed it with more of the floral paper.

I finished it with a sprinkling of sweet Unforgettable Enamel Dots.

 

For my second card, I was inspired by the “Shine” Foam Title Sticker to make a glitzy shaker card!

I used lots of the gorgeous 6×8” papers for the card base and shaker element and filled it with gold sequins for the ‘shine’.

I arranged lots of Die Cut Elements around the card and finished with a butterfly in the top corner.

For my last card I chose two of the beautiful 6×8” papers which I cut into a square, then divided in half diagonally.

I layered one of each pattern on a slightly larger square of black cardstock, then trimmed the remaining diagonal pieces smaller and layered onto another black square, then onto the centre of the card.

I chose a third patterned paper, again matt with black cardstock, then added it to the centre of the card using 3D foam for dimension. I adhered the “hello” Foam Title Sticker and several Die Cut Elements and finished with a few Enamel Dots.

Here are all three cards together… hope they inspire you to get creative!

Our Stories | Unforgettable Collection | Guest Designer Danni Visser

Hi lovelies!  It’s Danni here today sharing another guest designer layout with you.  This time I was very keen to get playing with the freebie cutfiles that match the new Unforgettable collection.

I first cut a large section of the heart wreath cutfile on my Silhouette machine using white cardstock – I just love the way white pops on the gorgeous papers in the collection. I went ahead and backed some of the cutfile with different papers from the 6×8 paper stack, making sure to leave some open spaces to keep it light and airy.

For my background paper I chose Lacewing for that gorgeous peach floral B side, then I tore strips from Natural Beauty and Story Teller (my two favourite papers from this collection so far, I can’t stop using them!).

I layered the strips to the left side of the page and added a crepe paper ruffle underneath for extra texture.  I made sure to curl the edges of the torn paper strips up a little, then slipped the cutfile under the edge of the ruffle, creating a half-wreath peeking out from beneath the layers.  This created the perfect spot for my pics to go.

I added some layers behind my pics with the 6×8 paper stack and tissue paper, added a little dimensional foam and placed my photos overlapping each other slightly.  I then embellished my photos using some ephemera, a flair button, tiny word stickers and one of the adorable bow embellies.

At the top right of my page I created a small cluster with a label sticker for the date.  I also added some floral embellishments peeking out from between the paper layers to the left of the page.

My title fits perfectly in the space between, with the foam title words again making the most perfect addition to the page.  I can’t get enough of these gorgeous script titles! For finishing touches I sprinkled some enamel dots around the page in groups of three, splattered some white ink and added my journaling inside the circle of the wreath cutfile using a white gel pen.

I love how perfectly this layout represents my photos of my husband and I enjoying the sunshine in the garden, and how perfectly the colours match the peachy coral dress I wore.

Bloom | Unforgettable layout | Anna Komenda

Hello CVS fans. It’s Anna here with my newest layout featuring new product in Cocoa Vanilla family. “Unforgettable” collection – the newest line designed by Zoe – features two new products. One of them is a set of foam words and second it a pretty package of bows and tassels. And this is what I will be focusing on today.

My favorite way of using any tassels is to add them to the mini albums covers creating dimensional embellishments hanging freely on the side. I also like to create garlands with paper elements and real tassels on the pages. I decided to use this second idea on my layout.

I cut out two big tags from papers with wooden pattern (did I mentioned how much I love wooden patterns?) and added stitching around them. Next step was to put a colorful string through the holes of the tags adding all four tassels from the packaging. I created kind of a lose loops and glues the string to the base paper. I wanted to use this pretty white paper with black words for a while and it was a perfect occasion.

To make the garland more complex I added two smaller tags – one from ephemera pack and one from sticker sheet. I finished the composition by adding pretty flowers here and there plus some smaller elements from ephemera pack.  I also fussy cut a lot of butterflies from one of the pattern papers.

Two bows closing the composition from top and the bottom were added at the end as my final touch. I am so in love with this new “Unforgettable” line. I feel so inspired by the patterns, flowers and cute embellishments.

Shine | Unforgettable Collection | Guest designer – Laura Alberts

Hello Scrappy Friends!

This is Laura Alberts, Guest Designer and huge fan of Cocoa Vanilla Studios! I’m sharing a sweet 9×12 layout with you today of my darling daughter, fast asleep on the couch. Using the Unforgettable collection to document this adorable face was perfection! I was especially excited to incorporate the Cut to You floral cut file and these tassels that accompany the collection.

First, I used the Sprightly paper and floral cut file to cut out one of the clusters, than cut leafy fronds from the B side of the Garland paper. I backed the floral with vellum and topped it tassels, ephemera and a phrase sticker.

Next, I tucked a frame behind my photo and popped it up on foam, so I could easily tuck the journaling spot and tickets around the left side. A couple of banners on the right side added balance to the photo.

I hoped to give this layout a dreamy quality by nestling the photo into the floral cluster and allowing both to gently float on the page. The butterflies and tassels add a whimsical touch, while the pops of black add contrast. Lastly, by outlining the journaling spot with pen, it prevents it from being lost amidst the background. I hope this gives you inspiration for your own creations!

Captured | Unforgettable Collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi Cocoa Vanilla friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing another layout featuring the gorgeous brand new Unforgettable collection! I am also featuring one of the stunning FREE cut files by Cut To You. The Unforgettable collection and the cut file go together beautifully!I chose a pink, grey and white colour scheme for my layout today, I pulled some of the papers and lots of embellishments that were in that colour scheme and started out by cutting the cut file on white cardstock, I cut the file out with the intention of leaving some of the design inside the cardstock. I loved how I could pop out the hearts and create a dimensional look with them. I backed the cut file design with the pink paper and then machine stitched around the circle – you can see more detail in the photo below. I then matted the cut file and pink paper onto one of the grey patterned papers. The photo is of my sister and I at our brothers wedding a couple of years ago, not often we get photos together with both my sister and brother living in England now. I added lots of paper layers underneath my photo and used foam tape to pop up my photo from the page. In the photo below, you can see I added a cluster of embellishments including some die-cuts and accessory stickers, I used foam dots again to lift up the camera die-cut and I also added one of the enamel dots to the centre – hooray for enamel dots making a come back in this collection! I love them! Over one the right hand side is another cluster featuring some of the floral and butterfly die-cuts. I also added one of the cute bows to the right of my title. My title is one of the gorgeous foam word titles, these are brilliant to add to any project, they make a statement and they really pop off the page too! I added one of the larger butterfly die-cuts to the left of the title to balance out the with the smaller one on the right hand side. A couple more enamel dots and a couple pf the gorgeous clear stickers were also added for some extra interest and texture.

The Best | Unforgettable | Rachel Lowe

Hello CVS friends today I have a pretty layout celebrating the relationship between my daughter and I. I have used the new stunning collection UNFORGETTABLE.

Firstly I used a scallop border cut file, cutting it at 11x 7 inches using the lovely Natural Beauty paper. I then set about creating a grid design cutting 5 3×3 inch squares using various papers from the 6×8 inch paper pad.

Then it was a matter of embellishing each square. Here i cut another square slightly smaller and added over the 3×3 inch with foam tape to add height. I have used one of the Accessory Stickers, again added with foam tape tucking an Enamel Dot slightly behind it. I finished this square off with the gorgeous camera Flair.

I cut this floral square from the Pretty Bits 12×12 paper layering it on a dark pink square from the 6×8 inch paper pad. Again I added with foam tape. I added some of the tiny die cut flowers, black hearts from the Foam Titles finished off with a tiny butterfly I fussy cut from the 6×8 page with butterflies. I added enamel dots to some of the flowers.

I created my title under the floral square using the black foam word titles framing it with some fussy cut tiny butterflies.

I created my final paper embellished square using a smaller floral paper from the 6×8 inch pad and adding the die cut Living the Dream as my sub title. I added blue paint smears from the Clear Stickers to create a subtle contrast. I added the gorgeous floral bunch from the clear stickers to the right edge of my white cardstock and lastly a Clear Sticker butterfly.

 

You could of course add more photos to this design. I just love the black foam titles, they really add a wow factor! Well that’s it from me today, thank you for stopping by today and have a wonderful creative week!

The Best | Unforgettable | Mandy Melville

Hi friends!

Mandy here today to share another layout using the GORGEOUS new Unforgettable collection! I’m totally loving the beautiful butterflies and the florals in this collection, and I knew that I wanted to feature them on this page! I documented a photo of my eldest daughter Abigail taken earlier this year, and I used this layout as an opportunity to journal about how proud I am of her.

I started by trimming down my white cardstock background and matting it firstly with the Natural Beauty patterned paper (reverse side), then with the Unscripted paper (reverse side). I also added some machine stitching around the white cardstock to give the layout some texture.

Next I matted my photo with one of the papers from the 6×8 Paper Stack, and then I created a pretty floral cluster to the right of the photo. I used one of the larger floral die cuts as the base for the cluster, and then I tucked some extra leaves and smaller flowers into it. I finished it off with some more leaves which I cut out of white cardstock using the beautiful new Unforgettable Cut Files. These are designed by our very own design team member Gwen Wruck, and they’re available to download for FREE here.

As I said, I knew that I wanted to feature those gorgeous butterflies from the collection on this layout. I cut the larger ones out of the Pretty Bits patterned paper and the smaller ones were from the Lacewing paper. I arranged them so that they look like they’re floating from the bottom right up to the top left, giving the layout a diagonal flow. I adhered them with glue just in the middle, so that their wings would lift off the page, giving them lots of dimension.

I also created another smaller floral cluster in the bottom right hand corner of the page. Once again I used a combination of die cuts, along with leaves from the Unforgettable cut file set.

I’m LOVING the addition of the Foam Title Stickers in this collection! They make it so easy to add a title to your layout, and the scripty font is really pretty! Plus I love the contrast that the black adds against the bright colours!

I finished the layout off by adding some typed journaling strips, a few little word stickers, and a couple of the little hearts included in the Foam Title Stickers pack.
