Hello, hello! It’s Anna here with another project made with brand new “Heart & Home” collection. I was recently decorating my home for fall and after putting all the pumpkins and other stuff, I felt I needed something in the upper part of the composition, that felt quite empty. That’s how I came up with an idea for a fall garland. I didn’t want to make it from triangles so I used my digital die cutting machine to cut leaves in variety of shapes.
They are a little bit less than 15 cm big and cut out from a variety of pattern papers both from 12*12 sheets and A5 Paper Stack. I used “Bountiful”, “Leaf litter”, “Fall beauty” and “Gather” patterns. I cut out 12 leaves with papers and another 12 with kraft cardstock. I combined leaves in the same shapes together and stapled them instead of adding glue.
Next step was to make little holes in each leaf to add string, that combines all the leaves together into the garland. I made two holes so the leaves doesn’t spin around on the string.
Each leaf is decorated with a little something – either a flowers from Floral Ephemera pack or elements from Die Cut Ephemera. Two of them are embellished with words from Titles With Gold Foiling – “celebrate” and “together”. I din’t want to overdo it as the leaves are colorful already.
My garland is already hanging in the livingroom, over my decorated cabinets. This is how it looks:
That is all for today! Thank you so much for spending this time with me. See you in November!
Hello Friends. We are having themed week and we are focusing on frames and borders. When I saw it in the schedule, I started thinking of where I can find those. We have some frames in ephemera packs and as a pattern papers. Borders are printed on paper with bunch of other elements to cut out. As I am a bigger fan of frames, I decided to focus on them this time. One of the papers from brand new “These days” collection, called “Wall of fame”, has plenty of doodly frames on one side, so I cut out some of them. And then… I started to wonder how can I incorporate them into layout. I decided it’s time for some fall project! I am not a fan of gloomy and grey days and rainy weather but I totally love first few weeks of autumn with all of their fantastic colors and “These days” collection has a lot of them added.
I took set of leaf dies and I cut out a lot of leaves from beautiful “Daybreak” paper. Ombre pattern with green, yellow, orange and red was made for this kind of projects! Next step was to create a matching, mixed media background with my beloved watercolors. I picked five colors and made few vertical strokes with each of them. Nothing fancy and complicated. When the background was dry, I splashed each color with a matching mist to add some color drops in more vivid shades.
I printed four pictures in small size and filled four frames with them. Rest of the frames became part of the background. I glued them directly to the base I prepared earlier and added photos. Next step was to arrange leaves, color on color, all around the background.
I went through ephemera pack and picked few trees to add them to by composition. I also cut out few colorful butterflies from “Take flight” paper. Color on color technique always gives fantastic results and helps you orginize the page easily. You don’t have to think much on where to place the embellishments – it kind of happens naturally.
Thanks to my light background I could use some clear stickers included into “These days” collection. Brush strokes matches the messy charakter of my page perfectly. I also added more trees here and there. Puffy stickers and wooden buttons are perfect finishing touches. And there is nothing better for the title than beautiful foam word stickers! Black color stands out great from the backgrund.
I had so much fun making this page and it all came together very easy. I think it’s because of this fantastic color palette. Frames are great for smaller photos and make the shapes of them less common and obvious.
Thank you so much for stopping by and see you in two weeks!
Amanda here, & I am beyond excited to be sharing my very first creation with our stunning new UNFORGETTABLE collection!
There are so many gorgeous papers and endless possibilities with this collection, and I wanted to showcase a few of them!
Here’s what I created,
“Bloom & Grow”
Oh wow! Isn’t this just divine?!!
When I first saw the UNFORGETTABLE collection, I was immediately struck by the cleverness of Zoe Pearn – a floral collection that reflected both Spring & Fall! Florals and blooms to suit both hemispheres – sheer brilliance! I was also impressed by the whimsical & somewhat bohemian feel that UNFORGETTABLE evoked!
With Fall as my favorite season, I just had to create an Autumnal page for my sweet girl! Here’s a closer look for you….
Gosh it’s so pretty!!!
For that warm & outdoorsy feel, I used the lovely CV-UF008 NATURAL BEAUTY woodgrain pattern paper as my layout base. Next I added the two large concentric hearts to the center of the page. The larger heart is a beautiful vermilion floral pattern paper from the reverse side of CV-UF005 LACEWING. Did I mention it had my heart swooning?! Such a rich and elegant pattern design – LOVE!!! The smaller heart is cut from simple white cardstock. With a ‘clean’ white base, attention is drawn immediately to my photograph – perfect!
I positioned my darling daughter’s picture onto a base of 3 x 4 note cards which I cut from pattern paper, CV-UF004 PRETTY BITS, and then glued the layers to the center of the page. For the embellishments tucked in and around my photo, I started with 3 larger fussy cut butterflies. These were also cut from the CV-UF004 LOVELY BITS paper (& yes, I used two sheets of this paper so that I could keep to my color scheme). Next I added that fabulous FLAIR BUTTON love this, & the two DIE CUT EPHEMERA pieces. And lastly, the CLEAR STICKER leaves tucked under the layers, and that super sweet butterfly to the bottom of the cluster. That smaller butterfly, and the others that you spy on my page, were all fussy cut from pattern paper CV-005 LACEWING – that paper may be my number one pick from this collection! SO incredibly beautiful!
Here’s a closer view of the photo cluster details….
Simply stunning!
As you travel around the layout, you’ll notice all the LACEWING fussy cut butterflies either tucked in or on the hearts. I include DIE CUT EPHEMERA blooms, foliage & even an arrow or two for added interest. CLEAR STICKERS also adorn the embellishment clusters and enhance the heart design.
The new FOAM TITLE STICKERS were the perfect go-to option for my layout title. The swirly font is super pretty, and the black foam is really striking on the woodgrain paper. I am also impressed with how easily they were to remove from the packaging, and to apply to my project. A new favorite product to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio range!
I arranged the ‘grow’ part of my title at the base of my layout, and adorned it with a couple of leafy fronds from the DIE CUT EPHEMERA pack…
Those FOAM TITLE STICKERS are really somethin’!
So many beautiful papers and embellishments!
For a finished look, I scattered a few white ENAMEL DOTS throughout the design.
Volia!
Simple, Timeless & Beautiful.
The new UNFORGETTABLE collection is breathtakingly gorgeous & will suit whichever season your documenting!
