Adventure | No Limits Collection | Laura Alberts

Hey y’all! Laura Alberts back again with a bold and beautiful layout that’s a bit of a stash dive into the stunning No Limits collection. I absolutely love this one and had to dig it out for this fun page featuring our visit to a hands-on museum on our last trip to Michigan. I started with a large block of this playful orange patterned paper with a little border strip on each side, then layered my photos over ephemera stars and a cut-apart journaling spot.

These large star frames are some of my favorite pieces from this collection! On the empty right and left edges of the layout, I added a scattered star border using fussy cut shapes from the Nebula patterned paper. Each of the stars is outlined with black gel pen to make them stand-out and I added a few tiny, sketchy stars for a bit of fun.

The bottom of the layout has a simple cluster with border strips underneath of a frame from the ephemera pack. I backed the frame with a cut-apart piece and filled it with the leftover bits of stars from the border layered under a cut-apart subtitle. This element was so much fun to put together!

You’re Cool | No Limits collection | Mandy Melville

Hello everyone!

Mandy here today for Throwback Thursday! I’m always a fan of using up my stash and giving an older collection a new lease on life, so I was excited to create a layout for the Throwback Thursday feature this month! I was in the mood to create a masculine page and wanted to document a photo of my son swimming in the pool on a recent family holiday. The No Limits collection was, as always, perfect for this! I’ve used this collection to document photos of my son when he was a toddler, right through to photos of my hubby, and everything in between. It’s so versatile, and I especially love the bright and vibrant colours!

I started by trimming the Eclipse patterned paper down to 10 inches square, and then adhering it to a sheet of white cardstock. This gave the layout a fun patchwork style look, and added lots of interest and colour to the background without much effort at all. I then chose a paper from the A5 paper Stack, and added some machine stitching around the edge before adhering it the middle of the page. This provided a matt for my photo, helping it to stand out and be separated from the background.

For my embellishing I decided to focus on the circular elements in the collection. I chose items from the accessory stickers, die cut ephemera, chipboard stickers and wood epoxy buttons, and arranged them from the bottom left hand corner of the layout, through to the top right. The diagonal flow of the embellishments helps to draw the viewers eye to the photo and title.

The repetition of the circular shape throughout helps to give the layout a cohesive feel, while the different textures, colours and sizes of each embellishment add interest to the page. I also added a sprinkling of chipboard stars to the page which provides another fun element.

For my title I wanted to use the Die Cut Titles, as I love the fun bold font! I decided on the phrase ‘You’re Cool’, which I think worked perfectly for this page! It not only describes my son’s ‘cool’ personality, but also references the fact that he ‘cooling’ off in the pool! I adhered my title with foam tape to help it to really pop off the page!

Simple cards with “Heart & Home” collection | Anna Komenda

Hello everyone! We all love pretty layouts and albums as they are a perfect way to preserve important moments and memories. But once in a while we also need a nice card to send or add to the gift and let’s be honest – there is nothing better than a handmade card! It can be curated specifically for the recipient to show them how much we care. That’s why, with every CVS collection, I like to make a bunch of cards too and have them ready whenever I need one. This is exactly what I did with new “Heart & Home” line.

I made three cards, each for s different occassion. My trick for a quick process was to use papers from A5 Paper Stack as a card bases. I simply folded each page in half and card base was ready! It has pattern on the front and back but inside is white, as papers in Papers Stack are single sided! Perfect solution! You can add extra pannel like me, or you can embellish your card directly on the base saving even more time.

Fot the first card I used Floral Ephemera Pack flowers and leaves. I used my scissors to trim the white outlines around flowers but you don’t have to do that! Simply arrange flowers and leaves on the card, add glue under each of the elements and your card is almost ready. My sentiment is made with Gold Foil Titles word “love” and Mini Puffy Alphabet word “you”. Few tiny Puffy Stickers hearts here and there and card was done!

Second card has a Polish inscription “Sto lat” which translates to “Happy birthday”. I made it inside the little wreath of flying moths. I cut them all out from “Fall beauty” 12*12 paper. I also added some machine stitching but it’s totally optional. Once again I finished my design with Puffy Stickers hearts and dots.

My last card is the quickest one as I utilised leaves leftoves I had from one of the previous projects. I die cut bunch of them from variety of papers from “Heart & Home” collection. Part was used for the layout, and the rest I added to my Ephemera Pack. I arranged few leaves in the center of the card, adding some foam squares under them for more dimension and finished everything with sentiment from said Ephemera Pack. It took me 10 minutes to complete. You can of course die cut your own leaves. It will take you a little bit longer to finish the card, but it’s only dozen you need.

Hello Paperlovers!

I’m delighted to share with you a layout that holds a special place in my heart, crafted with the beautiful Heart and Home collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. Inspired by the gorgeous mood board of November, I embarked on a creative journey, infusing elements of black and white, delicate stitching, heart patterns, and blooming florals into my design.

 

 

To start this project, I drew inspiration from the elegant simplicity of black and white showcased in the November mood board. The chosen photos telling a unique family story. These snapshots, filled with precious moments that I want to show case on this layout.

 

 

Using my electric cutting machine, I carefully crafted a large heart from a patterned paper within the Heart and Home collection. This heart, symbolizing love and gratitude, found its place at the center of a white cardstock canvas. To add a touch of whimsy and craftiness, I adorned the edges of the heart with delicate light blue stitching using sewing thread, creating a charming and tactile border.

 

The heart, now a focal point. From a different patterned paper, I cut out a lot of flowers, using them to artfully fill one side of the heart. This floral infusion not only added a burst of color but also conveyed the growth, beauty, and joy inherent in the memories being celebrated. On top of this bed of flowers, I placed two photo frames and my black and white photos and these frames served as windows.

 

 

For the title, I choose for the stunning gold-foil phrases and little puffy stickers from the beautiful Heart and Home collection. The words “Thankful for this life” were carefully arranged to convey the sentiment of gratitude, prompting a pause to reflect on the beauty and joy of the life shared with my beloved family. To balance the layout, I made a small cluster of flowers, leaves, and a word strip adorned the upper right corner of the heart. This added a touch of symmetry and completeness to the overall design. As a whimsical finishing touch, a few butterflies were scattered among the flowers, symbolizing the fleeting nature of life’s beautiful moments.

Love This | Heart & Home collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new layout featuring the gorgeous Heart & Home collection.

The Heart & Home collection is perfect for documenting photos of family. I took this photo of my parents recently at the airport before my Mum was leaving for England. I just love this photo of the 2 of them.

I started with a plain white cardstock background and chose a free quilt design cut file by Paige Evans as one of the features for my layout. I cut the cut file out from the ‘B’ side of the Framed paper and love how the wood grain looks against the white. With the bigger frame piece, I adhered the white cardstock on top of this piece and then machine stitched a border around the outside to add some texture. I then took the A5 paper stack and backed some of the open spaces. I adhered my photo on the right hand side of the page using craft foam and added one of the cardstock frames from the ephemera pack over the photo. I also tucked in one of the florals underneath, I love how you can see the different dimension I created here.

My title is made up of the gorgeous gold foil cardstock titles and I placed the title on the left of the photo using craft foam for dimension too. I layered one of the small phrase pieces from the Gather paper over the top of the title. On the right of the photo, I added more die-cut pieces from the ephemera pack and also added a puffy heart here as well.  At the top of the frame I added one of the phrase stickers from Accessory sticker sheet and also placed one of the banner stickers also from the Accessory sticker sheet at the bottom of the photo and layered a puffy heart over top of the heart on the sticker.

Next up it was time to add some more embellishments. I decided to add some of the stickers from the Accessory sticker sheet, adding 2 of the square ones to the square shapes in the cut file. I also added some more of the smaller die-cut pieces from the ephemera pack to some of the open spaces in the cut file as well. Some of them I added craft foam to underneath and some I placed flat on the page. I love the different levels of dimension not to mention the shadows this creates on a project. Lastly I added some more of the super cute puffy hearts and stamped the date stamp of when the photo was taken to finish off the layout.

I love how Cocoa Vanilla collections co-ordinate! It is so easy to create pretty projects with their gorgeous collections, I highly recommend you get the Heart & Home collection for your family memory keeping, it has perfect elements to help capture those all important memories and to tell your stories.

Joyful Days | Heart & Home | Rachel Lowe

Today I am sharing a mother and daughter layout. In choosing these cooler colours from the Heart & Home collection it gives a totally different feel compared to my previous Fall layouts using this collection.

This delicate and beautiful heart cut file is from the Silhouette Design store. I wanted to add layers instead of simply adding the white cardstock onto the butterfly paper, so I used a scollop square cut file (again from the Silhouette Design store). By doing this I have created four layers including the heart. My measurement for the squares are 12×12, 9×9 and 8×8.

Instead of using the oval die cut floral frame from the die cut ephemera pack, I backed it and created a journal block adding phrase sentiment sticker from the accessory sticker sheet and a die cut banner finished of adding puffy stickers to the centre of the flowers.

I created another embellishment cluster using one of the gorgeous house die cuts as a focal point. I tucked floral die cut ephemera in and under the house with I added with foam tape. I added puffy heart stickers to the house and finished off adding another die cut banner over the house.

I added a 3.5×3.5 inch photo which I matted and added with foam tape. I created a larger floral die cut bunch, tucking the flowers, springs and leaves slightly under my photo. Again I added some puffy stickers to the centres of the larger flowers.

To finish off I created my title Joyful Days using the puffy alphabet stickers following the shape of the heart. I added a die cut phrase sentiment using a shade of darker green which connects my title and sub title.

I have used three papers to create this layout: Fall Beauty, Leaf Litter and Gather.

BEAUTIFUL LIFE | HEART & HOME COLLECTION | SOPHIE DELORME

Hello friends!

It’s Sophie on the blog today with this new layout!

 

I used the beautiful Heart & Home collection again!

I wanted to focus on the beautiful frames from the “Framed” patterned paper. I fussy cut a few of them and centered them under a beautiful and sweet photo of my two doggies cuddling and sleeping together!

I machine stitched around the frames and used them to add subtitles and a little bit of handwritten journaling.

I placed a strip of the “Fall Beauty” patterned paper at the bottom of the layout and tucked a few framed under it. I also added many fussy cut leaves and flowers to embellish around the frames, with two bigger floral clusters around my photo.

 

The GORGEOUS heart & Home Gold Foil words made the perfect title for my page.

Celebrate Together | Heart and Home | Kellie Moore

Hey there Cocoa Vanilla friends it’s Kellie here and welcome back to the blog today .

I have a layout using the new Heart and Home collection to share today….the memory I am documenting is a photo of myself with my youngest son recently taken at a wedding where he was a page boy….isn’t he the sweetest?!

To start my page, I decided I wanted to create a background with a bunch of the papers from the A5 paper stack so I decided to cut a bunch of squares and lay them on an angle, leaving a strip white space down the page to allow the page to not become too busy. To add more texture I added some hand stitching around the squares.

I placed my photo towards the left side of the page so I could create a diagonal through my photo. I matted my photo in white as I already had so much pattern going on.

I wanted to keep the embellishing on the lighter side to not overpower the photo so I added some of the floral ephemera to the top left and bottom right of my photo, not sticking them flat to the page so they add dimension.

For my title I chose the word ‘Celebrate’ from the Titles with Gold Foil then added the word ‘Together’ using the Mini Puffy Alphabet. I also used a heart sticker from the Accessory Sticker Sheet above my title, along with some of the heart Puffy Stickers.

Family | Heart & Home collection | Mandy Melville

Hello everyone,

Mandy here today to share another layout featuring the beautiful Heart & Home collection. For this layout, I documented another family photo from our recent trip to Mudgee. This one is of Mum, my son Isaac, and myself picnicking at a vineyard, and I plan to put this page alongside the layout that I shared last month with photos taken on the same day. I love the way the colours in this collection really bring out the colours in the photo!

I started this page by cutting up 6 inch x 1.5 inch strips of patterned papers from the A5 Paper Stack. I then adhered these down the left hand side of a sheet of Golden Fields paper (b side). To finish off the background I punched a border strip from the woodgrain Framed patterned paper, and adhered it down the middle of the page where the paper strips meet the text background.

I matted my photo with the yellow paper from the A5 Paper Stack, and adhered it towards the top of the page, overlapping both the paper strips and the text background. Next I fussy cut a floral cluster out of the Bountiful paper, and tucked that under the bottom right hand corner of the photo. I added a few die cut elements to the cluster including some leaves, a house, and a banner. I adhered some items with foam tape to give the cluster some extra interest and dimension.

To balance out the larger floral cluster, I added two more smaller clusters to the page. One positioned on the top left hand corner of the photo, and the other in the bottom right hand corner of the layout. The positioning of the clusters gives the layout a diagonal flow, drawing the viewer’s eye from the top left, down through the photo and title, to the bottom right. I used more Die  Cut Ephemera, as well as some flowers from the Floral Ephemera pack, to create the second and third clusters. You can also see here that I created a subtitle to the left of the photo using the Mini Puffy Alpha Stickers.

For my title, I chose the word ‘Family’ from the Die Cut Ephemera pack. I outlined the letters with a brown pen and adhered them with craft foam to help them to pop off the page.

My Happy Place | Heart & Home Collection | Laura Alberts

Hey y’all! Laura Alberts here with a fun autumn layout using the new Heart & Home collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. These lovely photos worked beautifully with the color scheme of Heart & Home, especially the vellum florals! I started this one using multiple chipboard circle templates that I created in various sizes using bowls from my house. Cutting out circles in these beautiful patterned papers made for a quick and easy background!

Each of the circles are outlined in black gel pen with a few faux stitching marks. In the top left circle, I positioned two photos with the first part of my title and tucked a journaling spot from the cut apart sheet underneath. I added a mix of ephemera, fussy cut, and vellum florals on the right side for a simple cluster.

In the top right corner, I built a large cluster using a frame from the ephemera pack and backed it with a cut apart. The floral cluster added depth by layering ephemera florals above the frame and vellum florals below. This gives the cluster a dynamic look despite how flat it actually is!

In the bottom right corner, I let one of my photos go off the page and trimmed it. This functions as the second-half of the title, but also gives a third point of interest on the page. These photos didn’t need a lot of embellishing, so I kept this cluster simple.

And just to add a little extra something fun to the last circle, I added a medium sized cluster with both vellum, ephemera, and fussy cut florals. Love how this one turned out! I hope this layout inspires you to find a new way to incorporate household items into your scrapbooking!
