Hi everyone, it’s Melissa here and I’m back with another layout I created with gorgeous Happy Days. My assignment was Mother’s Day, and I just knew I needed to create a layout with a heart.
I created a layout recently with a heart where I used the cut-out shape. For this layout I took the negative heart and punched lots of small hearts from the A5 Paper Stack and glued them on randomly to cover the heart. I trimmed around the edge, and then machine stitched around the edge.
I chose a sweet photo of my girls at our photo booth from church at our Mother’s Day photobooth in 2021. I backed it yellow patterned paper from the A5 Paper Stack.
I embellished with lots of Die Cut Ephemera. I used the Chipboard Words for my title, so easy and fun!
Welcome to the Cocoa Vanilla blog today! So happy to see you…Scrapbooking is an amazing hobby that allows us to preserve our memories in a creative and beautiful way. With the right supplies, it’s possible to create stunning layouts that capture the essence of a special moment. such collection that can help you achieve this is the amazing “Happy Days” collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. In this blog post, we’ll explore a scrapbook layout that uses this collection and features a mixed media background and a beautiful half rosette that looks like an umbrella.
To begin with, I used a sheet of white cardstock as the base for my layout. I then applied some distress oxide ink in the color fossilized amber to create a mixed media background. The oxide ink blends effortlessly, giving a lovely vintage feel to the layout.
Next, I created a half rosette that I wanted to look like an umbrella. For this, I used a piece of patterned paper from the Happy Days collection. The paper had a beautiful blue flower pattern that looked perfect for the umbrella. I cut the paper into a long strip and then scored it at regular intervals. I then folded the paper along the score lines to create the rosette. Once it was complete, I created a handle from a yellow colored pattern paper, making sure it looked like an umbrella.
To decorate the umbrella, I used some beautiful flower die-cuts, butterflies, lemons, and peaches that I had cut out from the Happy Days collection papers. I arranged the die-cuts in a way that looked like they were hanging off the umbrella. The flowers were a mix of bright pinks, yellows, and oranges, while the butterflies were a mix of gold and pink. The lemons and peaches added a lovely pop of color to the layout and complemented the other elements perfectly.
The Happy Days collection from Cocoa Vanilla is a fantastic collection to use for your scrapbooking memories. It has beautiful bright colors and the papers and die-cuts are perfect for creating beautiful layouts. By incorporating a mixed media background and a half rosette that looks like an umbrella, I was able to create a lovely spring layout that captured the essence of a special moment. I want to thank you for visiting the blog today and hope to see you next time with a new project. I wish you a happy and creative day! XoXo, Jo
It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new layout featuring the gorgeous new Happy Days collection!
Have you seen the gorgeous new gold foiled specialty paper in this collection? It is soooo beautiful! I knew I had to use it for a layout! I decided to document some dress up photos of my niece, adding a total of 3 photos on this layout!
Make sure you get the specialty paper in your Happy Days collection order, you won’t be disappointed!
I took the gold foiled specialty paper and carefully cut out the centres of the ‘frames’ with my craft knife, leaving just the outline of each ‘frame’. I put the centres aside in case I want to use these on a project in the future. I then took the A5 paper stack and chose 1 of each of the papers from the pack and backed all the spaces in the papers where there were no photos. My title is made up of the gorgeous chipboard alphabet stickers. I placed the title split up so that it helps draw your eye around the layout.
Once all of the spaces were backed, I trimmed down the specialty paper and adhered this piece to the ‘B’ side of the ‘Definitive’ paper to frame the entire layout. I chose a variety of the beautiful embellishments in the collection to embellish each of the ‘frames’ including die-cuts from the ephemera pack, enamel hearts and dots, fabric puffy hearts and accessory stickers. Many of the embellishments have been adhered using craft foam underneath to add dimension to the page, I love how the craft foam creates shadows and dimension.
On some of the spaces, I chose to leave the embellishments off as I felt that the paper was enough for that space. You can in the below image, I left them off the rainbow paper and the round butterfly space. I also left the orange and lemon space free of embellishments and the horizontal rectangle at the bottom as well. Some of the spaces only have subtle embellishments such as the round space with the rainbow paper, I have only added 2 enamel hearts to this space.
I love how colourful and bright this collection is and how easy it is to create pretty projects! The collection made this page come together so easily and I love how it turned out! I can’t wait to see what you all create using this beautiful collection! Make sure you get your hands on it soon!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Cocoa Vanilla blog today! I hope you enjoyed reading about how I created my layout as much as I enjoyed creating it!
Hi everyone, it’s Sue Plumb here and I am SO excited to be sharing my first design team project using the brand new ‘Happy Days’ collection. I am sure by now you have seen the collection in full (either here on the blog or in person), so I know you will agree with me when I say how gorgeous it is! All those bright, vibrant colours really do make me happy.
For my first layout I decided to document some recent happy photos I took – my daughter on her 15th birthday. She was ecstatic to receive her first pair of “Docs” (Dr Marten boots) as a gift – definitely a happy day for her.
I chose to start with the yellow plaid pattern on the B side of the “Feel Good” paper, which is the cut apart sheet for this collection. I didn’t really want to sacrifice the cut apart first up, but I could not resist that gorgeous happy yellow for my background. To add a little extra colour I added some teal acrylic paint using 2″ wide brush and the dry brush technique. Initially I had planned for the brush strokes to be horizontal on the page, but after spinning the page, I decided I like them better vertical.
Next, I started building my paper layers. I matted each of my three photos using the sweet strawberry print on the B side of the “Lush Blooms” paper. I also used an extra piece of this paper to place horizontally across the page as an anchor point for my photos. I tore along one edge to add a textural element. I topped the strawberry paper with a thin stripe of plum purple, which was cut from the top edge of the striped pattern on the “Sunshine Lollipops” paper. I then added some frayed gauze and an aqua paper doily before adding my photos on top.
Now it was time to start embellishing my page. I couldn’t resist reaching for the gorgeous florals from the collection; so I used a mix of flowers fussy cut from the “Lush Blooms” paper and pieces from the Floral Ephemera pack. The first cluster I created was around the top left corner of my photos. I also used a small banner piece from the Die Cut Ephemera pack across the top edge of my photo.
The second cluster I created was below the centre photo and here I used a larger fussy cut floral piece with foam tape behind it to add a little height. (I had already planned at this point that my title was going to go alongside it, even though I hadn’t added it yet.) With two clusters in place, it was time to add my third cluster to balance my page.
The position of the last floral cluster was alongside the photos on the right edge. The positioning of this final cluster completed my visual triangle around the focal point of my page. Again, I used some foam tape to create dimension.
With all the flowers in place, I then set about adding some text to the page. I chose the die cut hello flag from the ephemera pack to place along the bottom edge of my main photo. This formed the first part of my subtitle, which was Hello 1st Docs, with the letters for the second part coming from the Mini Puffy Alphabet Stickers pack. The main part of my title, So Awesome, was using words from the Chipboard Titles pack.
At this point it was simply a matter of a few finishing touches. I created a small cluster along the bottom edge of the page using a scrap of paper, a flower, a phrase stickers from the Accessory Sticker sheet and a sweet little heart shaped Puffy Sticker. I added a couple of extra phrase stickers and heart puffy stickers to the page as well. I also added a die cut butterfly (I am sure you already know how much I love them) and the final finishing touch was one of the gorgeous Puffy Hearts stuck directly onto my centre photo. Oh, and a little black ink splatter.
And that was it!! I hope you love my layout and it inspires you to get creative too. Even if you don’t have the ‘Happy Days’ collection yet, grab out some other Cocoa Vanilla goodies and get busy! ‘Happy Days’ is already shipping to retailers so keep an eye out at your favourite store.
It’s Sophie with you today and I am SO excited to share my very first layout with the AMAZING Happy Days collection!
I had an assignment to focus on florals for this page…My favorite assignment EVER!!
I decided to go with a rainbow themed layout with this beautiful “Sunshine Lollipops” that caught my eye instantly!
I cut along each colored strip at different lengths and rolled up the edges. I placed the rolled piece of paper on thick white cardstock and added a zigzag stitch with matching thread in the center of each colored strip.
I also placed a smaller piece of that rainbow paper on the left side of the layout and linked both piece of paper together with a very soft watercolor paint.
Then, I embellished the page with numerous flowers and leaves from the Floral Ephemera pack. I scattered them around the page in a tone-on-tone manner.
I fussy cut the title “Happy Days” from a packaging and mounted the words on foam adhesive before placing them on the top left corner of my photo.
Finally, I handwrote my journaling on a fussy cut label and added a few puffy stickers as the finishing touch.
Here are more close-ups:
This colorful page came together in no time, with only one sheet of patterned paper!
Hope this was inspiring for you! This whole Happy Days collection is a must have!!
Today I am back sharing my second layout with the new ‘Happy Days’ collection. For my page today I was tasked with the assignment of focusing on the floral ephemera…so easy when the florals are always so gorgeous in all Cocoa Vanilla collections right?! Here is a look at my page..
To start, I chose a cutfile from my stash (sorry it’s an older one so Im not sure where I got it.) I backed the large section of the heart in the yellow plaid which is called ‘Feel Good’..then I backed the flower with two papers from the A5 paper stack. To give the page more interest, I hand stitched around the flower and the heart.
For the design of my page I decided to go with a diagonal…this always looks good, and I used this opportunity to use the florals from the floral ephemera pack to flow down my page, placing them above my photos, under my title then down to the bottom right of my page.
When adhering my florals i like to give them dimension in several ways… adding foam adhesive, pinching the petals together and not sticking the flowers straight down onto the background. This allows them to ‘pop’ up off the page ..
Next to my photos on the right side, I used one of the cut cards from the A5 paper stack.. it suits my pics perfectly!
For my title I used the word ‘Together’ from the Chipboard Title Stickers, I love the the playful font on these.
Under my photos I used some of the word phrases from the cut apart sheet called ‘Feel Good’ as well as from the A5 paper stack..
To finish my page I added some yellow oxide ink around my heart to create depth and dimension… super easy way to add mixed media followed by a sprinkle of the puffy stickers.
Thats it for today, I hope you enjoyed my page and you are starting to get to play with this fun new collection.
Mandy here today to share another layout featuring the super GORGEOUS Happy Dayscollection! One thing I love about this collection is how versatile it is! For my layout today I decided to scrapbook photos of my hubby and I taken when we enjoyed a date night dinner cruise. Our kids gave us a voucher for the cruise as a gift for Christmas last year, and we had such a fun night out! The Happy Days collection was perfect for documenting this special memory.
I started this layout off by cutting a 6 inch square out of the B-side of both the Definitive and the Flutterby papers. I then cut these papers in half diagonally and adhered them to the corners of a white sheet of cardstock. I chose these two papers because they matched the colours in the photos perfectly. I love the way this design frames the page and creates a diamond shape in the middle of the layout where I could add my photos and embellishing.
Of course I couldn’t resist fussy cutting some of the beautiful floral clusters out of the Lush Blooms paper. I tucked one under the left hand side of the bottom photo, along with a die cut frame. I love the touch of prettiness that this adds to the page!
For my title, I used the word ‘Together’ from the lovely Chipboard Titles. There are so many perfect words and phrases in this pack and it makes it super easy to add a title to your layout! Plus how sweet is that font!
To balance out the floral cluster in the bottom left, I added some more fussy cut florals to the right of the top photo. This gives the layout a diagonal flow and helps to draw the viewers eye through the photos. I finished the page off with a few die cut and fussy cut butterflies and a couple of the Puffy Stickers.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope that you enjoyed taking a look at my layout featuring the beautiful Happy Days collection!
Hello, hello! It’s Anna here and I have a brand new layout to share with you. I just got brand new “Happy days” collection and I couldn’t wait to start creating with it. As always, first project is somehow hard as there are so many options and decission making process is complicated. So many patterns and colors to choose from! I like to focus on limited color combo at first or even make a monochromatic page to help me narrow the choices. This time I decided to use pink – yellow – plum colors with a bit of green added.
I started with white cardstock and green ink applied with a soft brush. Next I added some texture using white chalk paste and floral stencil and left it to dry. In the meantime, waiting for the background to dry, I started fussy cutting flowers from LUSH BLOOMS PAPER. I like having a lot of florals on hand even though I have three full packs of FLORAL EPHEMERA. You can never have too many of them!
After my background was dry, it was time to add some pretty papers and embellishments. My idea for this page was to create banners on the string using different patter papers. The biggest one is made with yellow FEEL GOOD PAPER. Second one is cut out from LUSH BLOOMS PAPER (the same one I cut out flowers too!). Smallest banner in plum color is cut out with cute FLUTTERBY PAPER. I added some holes for the string to each one and glued them down to my base.
With all my main elements in place, I was ready to add my photo on the biggest banner. I decorated it with previously fussy cut flowers, some EPHEMERA pieces and butterflies cut out from FLUTTERBY PAPER. I also reached for pretty PUFFY HEARTS pack to add them here and there.
My title is a combination of word “happy” taken from EPHEMERA PACK with word “times” taken from CHIPBOARD TITLES. They look fantastic together. I love this font so much! Here I also added some flowers.
The smallest banner is decorated similar way as the other ones – with flowers and butterflies. You can also spot some cute, puffy stickers in heart shapes as a finishing touch. After finishing my composition I decided I needed to add something on the top and in the bottom of the layout as it seemed too white so I cut off strips of the papers I used for banner and glued them down! Now my page was done!
That is all for today! I hope you like my page! I already have an idea for few other projects with this line. Sending you a lot of hugs.
Hi everyone, it’s Melissa here and I’m so excited to be back sharing the first layout that I’ve created with the brand new Happy Days collection!! This collection arrived last week, in perfect timing for my layout today! Yay!! I don’t know about you but I always struggle with a new collection because I don’t want to cut into anything. I decided to create my ‘go-to’ design which is to feature a large piece of beautiful patterned paper, or in this instance two!
I just had to feature ‘Definitive’ and ‘Little Blossom’. Both sides of all the papers are stunning, and I’d highly recommend purchasing at least two pieces of all the papers! I tore the edge of Little Blossom and glued it onto Definitive. I machine stitched the edge for texture.
The photo is a cute selfie of two of my daughters that my oldest daughter took and I discovered on my phone. Love it when that happens! For my title I just had to use the name of the collection from the ‘Die Cut Titles’! So perfect!
I cut apart one of the gorgeous images from the ‘Specialty Paper’, and I just love the gold foiling. I tucked it slightly under my photo and then embellished around with ‘Die Cut Floral Ephemera’, ‘Die Cut Ephemera’, and one of the stunning ‘Puffy Hearts’.
You can watch my process video below.
I hope you enjoyed my first layout created with this stunning collection using my go-to design!
Cocoa Vanilla Studio has just released a new collection called Happy Days, and I’m absolutely in love with the beautiful embellishments, colors and designs! This collection is perfect for creating scrapbook layouts that are filled with fun, bright colors and playful patterns.
One of my favorite layouts to create using the Happy Days collection is a page that highlights the good things in life. Start by selecting a colorful patterned paper to fussy cut and create a round and colorful background on a white piece of cardstock with all these cute little peaches and lemons. Then, choose several coordinating patterned papers to layer underneath your photo.
Next, it’s time to add some embellishments to your page. The Happy Days collection includes a variety of stickers, die cuts, and chipboard accents that are perfect for adding pops of color and dimension to your layout. Choose a few of your favorite embellishments and scatter them around your page, being sure to balance out the colors and textures. For the title of this page I used a little banner with the quote “The best of Times”
I placed a view little puffy hearts randomly on the page and cut a gold foil butterfly from the special gold foil paper. I cut more butterflies from the pattern paper and placed them on the page as well. Between the peaches and lemon I put some green sewing thread. I love how that looks. Finally, I splatter some with white gesso and gold acrylic paint.
Overall, I highly recommend trying out this fun and beautiful scrapbook collection designed by Cocoa Vanilla Studio calls “Happy Days” With its bright colors and cheerful patterns, this collection is sure to bring a smile to your face and help you create memories that will last a lifetime!I would love if I was able to inspire you with this fun and happy layout and can’t wait to make more scrapbook projects with this awesome collection.
I hope to see you next time on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog with a new Scrapbook layout. Wish you a lovely and crafty day friends.
