Shine On | Daydream | Rachel Lowe

Hello CVS friends! A special mention to those still in lockdown, it certainly has been a tough few months here in Australia. I hope crafting is keeping you sane. Today I have a layout created with Daydream collection.

I found this gorgeous heart pie graph in the Silhouette Design Store and thought it perfect to use various papers all in one cut file! I have used Daisy Days, All A Flutter and Garden Variety papers.

Once I had adhered my heart, off centre, I set about creating a floral embellishment cluster to the top right of my base paper (yes I am back to white cardstock lol!). I used the die cut ephemera and used foam tape so these elements had dimension.

Once I added my 4×5 inch photo I set about creating a floral cluster cascading down my page, some of the top flowers added with foam tape so this cluster did not look ‘flat’. Having a whole pack of ephemera floral die cuts a certainly allows you to create larger and more interesting clusters. To make it even prettier I added some of the Daydream sequins. I also added some jewel drops to the centres.

To connect my heart with the floral clusters I added die cut butterflies ‘flying’ from one element to the other. Again I used foam tape and jewel drops on the butterfly wings.

I used the Accessory Sticker Sheet to add embellishments to ‘frame’ my photo, tucking some under my photo which again stops your layout looking ‘flat’. I of course had to add a rainbow finished off with one of the flairs from the collection. I added my title Shine On which is also from the accessory sticker sheet. Curving it around the top f the heart adds visual interest.

There is plenty of room to add two photos or a larger one on this heart, you could also make this heart larger if you have a cutting machine. You could use this design using the new These Days collection too.

I love creating pretty and girly layouts, this turned out just perfect, how could it not be pretty using such pretty product! Thank you for stopping in today, stay safe and stay safe, and keep on creating!

You are Beautiful | Daydream Collection | Mandy Melville

Hi everyone!

It’s Mandy Melville, and I’m so thrilled to be back here on the CVS blog for the first time in over a year to share some inspiration with you all! Unfortunately I had to take a break from my design team commitments over the past little while due to increased work commitments, but when I was invited to re-join the amazing CVS Design Team recently, of course I couldn’t say no! I love being able to share these gorgeous products with you all!

For my first layout share, I chose to use the absolutely stunning Daydream collection! If I had to pick a favourite scrapbook collection of all-time, it wouldn’t be an easy choice, but I think this collection might just be it! The gorgeous colours and the beautiful florals make it such an enjoyable and easy collection to create with! It was so perfect for documenting this lovely photo that I took of my eldest daughter Abi recently.

I’ve been hoarding the lovely Daisy Days patterned paper since I first got this collection, but I decided that it was time to finally use it! If you’re familiar with my scrapbooking style, you’ll know that I LOVE fussy cutting, especially floral elements! So of course I couldn’t resist fussy cutting that beautiful floral wreath to use as the main element on my layout.

I started my layout layout off with a sheet of American Crafts white textured cardstock as my background, which you can now purchase from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio store! I then cut a 10 inch square out of the heart print All Aflutter patterned paper, and I cut a circle out of the middle of the paper about 8 3/4 inches in diameter. I adhered this patterned paper to my white cardstock, and added some machine stitching around the outside of it to give the page some additional texture. I also smudged some white gesso onto it to fade out the colour just a little bit, as well as a few white splatters. I then layered the fussy cut wreath on top, just adding glue randomly to allow some of the leaves and flowers to lift freely off the page.

For my title, I combined some alphabet stickers from my stash with the word ‘beautiful’ from the Die Cut Titles pack. I love these beautiful scripty die cut words, and they make adding a title to your layouts so easy! I adhered it using foam tape for extra dimension, (which you might know is another thing that I love to add on my pages!)

I double matted my photo using one of the papers from the A5 Paper Stack, as well as the woodgrain polaroid frame from the Die Cut Ephemera pack. I also included a doily from my stash in my photo layers which adds some extra detail and texture. Under the right hand side of the photo I tucked a tab from the Accessory Sticker Sheet.

Next I added a couple of little butterflies that I fussy cut out of the All Aflutter paper from the A5 Paper Stack, as well as some tiny flowers that I cut out of the Garden Variety paper. I finished the layout off with a few little phrase stickers from the Accessory Sticker Sheet, which added the perfect sentiments to my layout about my beautiful girl.

HAPPY DAYS WITH YOU | DAYDREAM | GWEN WRUCK

Hi Creative friends, Gwen back on the blog today with a new share and today’s layout is featuring the stunning ‘Daydream’ collection. For today, I decided to have a play with the cut apart pattern paper in the collection called ‘Happy Place’. It’s fun to see just how many elements I can get out of one sheet of pattern paper!

To begin my page, I’ve created a background with the ‘Serenity’ pattern paper as my border and a plain white cardstock from my stash. I’ve then used the centre of the ‘Serenity’ paper to cut out some simple banner strips. I’ve done this with a cut file from CUT to YOU but you could also do this with a border punch or even just fussy cut out the design freehand with your scissors.

Next, I’ve cut the striped piece and the heart row from the ‘Happy Place’ pattern paper. I’ve layered these two pieces with the banner pieces to create my background. I’ve added them randomly, working bottom to top along the centre line of the page, adding stitching to the top of each banner piece as I go.

I’ve then also added in three of the smaller banner pieces from the cut apart sheet and added stitching to those too. These are normally used as journaling spots, but I’m using them here just as parts of my layers.

I’ve then positioned my photo. I think this design works particularly well with photos that are landscape as the banner pieces in the background draw the eye across the page. I have used foam tape for this as well, just for added dimension.

I’ve used the cut apart sheet again for the text element ‘Beautiful’ which is positioned above my photo. I’ve also fussy cut out three of the cute rainbows and added those above and below my photo running along the same lines as the banner pieces.

I’ve also added in here some stickers from the ‘Accessory Sticker Sheet’ as well as fussy cut out floral elements from the ‘Garden Variety’ pattern paper and butterflies from the ‘All a Flutter’ pattern paper.

Here you can see a close up of the stitched details. To finish the page off, I’ve added a few typed sentiments from the ‘Accessory Sticker sheet’ and a Flair button.

I’ve also created a YouTube process video for this layout which you can watch below – I hope it inspires you to get creating with this beautiful collection.

This Happy Place | Day Dream collection | Rachel Lowe

Hello CVS friends! I finally used the Over the Rainbow paper (because I can’t keep it in my stash just to look at it because it is so pretty lol). Of course it is the perfect paper to scrap the photo of my new craft room mural which is Zoe’s rainbow design.

 

Before adding anything to my page I added some machine stitching and white Nuvo crystal drops. I didn’t want to make it too busy but wanted to add a little texture.

I have used a pretty bird cut file from the Silhouette Design store, I wanted to height add create the illusion of a moving element on my page so it didn’t look ‘flat’. I used the 6×8 inch paper pad to paper piece the bird (which is a great way to save your 12×12 papers for a larger project). I used Happy Place, All a Flutter and Stepping Stones papers.

To tie the bird in I used a larger floral die cut adding with foam tape (this way it doesn’t look like you have added an element for no good reason). I added some clear Nuvo crystal drops to the flower petals for texture.

I next added the photo of my craft room mural using a die cut frame and adding with foam tape. I added a sweet flair from the collection to draw your eye to the photo (and because it is so cute!)

I created my title by using a word from the Die Cut Titles and a phrase from the Accessory Sticker sheet, because yes this indeed is my happy place.

I finished off adding a fussy cut butterfly/moth and some phrase stickers from the Accessory Sticker sheet. I love how it turned it, but everything in this collection makes it easy to create super beautiful layouts!
