Love To Be Jolly| Merry and Bright | Anita Bownds
Hi CVS friends!
It’s Anna back with you here on the blog. Today I’m sharing my first layout featuring the gorgeous “Merry & Bright” collection. I love the colors! It’s so sweet and soft that every project made with it has magic. For today’s layout, I used this beautiful picture of my sister and my brother-in-law with their first son.
I started this page with the “Holly Background” Cut to You cut file. I backed it with the “Joy to the world” and the “Oh Christmas tree” papers from the A5 Paper Stack. I think it looks great, and green and soft pink go very well together. Then, I put foam squares behind it and glued the cut file to the “Star Bright” paper.
I placed the picture on the right side, with a leave overlapping it. The background of the photo is full of leaves, so I like how the cut file seems an extension of it. Then I created three clusters around the photo using the floral die cuts from the Ephemera pack. Flower die cuts are always my favorite item from every collection. To add a touch of gold, I placed two puffy stars on top of the clusters.
For my title, I used one of the stickers from the Accessory Stickers that says “Merry Christmas”. I stacked it on top of one of the A5 papers to frame it. I also raised it with foam squares. As the final touch, I put a flair button and a little red bell in the upper right corner. I framed the page with the B side of the “Countdown” paper.
I love how it turned out and how pretty the cut file looks. I hope it gives you some inspiration for your holiday pages.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I wish you a very Merry Christmas!
Have a wonderful day!

Hi friends!
It’s Tarrah back with you here on the Cocoa Vanilla blog and today I have a new Christmas themed layout to share with you featuring the stunning Merry and Bright collection! I just can’t get enough of this gorgeous Christmas collection! It’s my most favourite Christmas collection ever!
I decided to use the gorgeous large Christmas Tree die-cut and the backing paper but used it slightly differently to how it comes. I pulled off the die-cut from the backing patterned paper and backed all the spaces with papers from the 6′ x 8′ paper pad. These papers were different to the patterns on the backing paper it comes with. Once it was all backed, I added craft foam underneath and adhered it back to the backing paper, however I moved it over to the right so that the tree pattern underneath could be seen. I love the shadows this creates on my page.
On the right, I layered some of the awesome 3′ x 4′ journal cards under the photo of my Mum with my boys and niece. To the right of the photo I tucked in a tree die-cut and also added 2 over on the left, I tucked one in and the other is adhered on top. I also decorated the tree with a few more die-cuts and accessory stickers too. The flairs are super cute from the Merry and Bright collection, I added the pink one that says 25 December on the left side of the page.
I added more die-cuts including some hearts and phrases and those gorgeous gold puffy stars! One had to be added to the top of the tree and I added 2 more to the other embellishment clusters. To finish I trimmed down the backing patterned paper and backed it with the ‘B’ side of the Countdown paper. I then trimmed this paper down again and backed the entire layout with gold glitter cardstock. Lastly I splattered some gold mist around the layout and stamped the date stamp.
Thanks so much for stopping by the Cocoa Vanilla blog today, I hope you enjoyed my layout and that you were inspired in some way!
Happy Christmas creating!!

hi crafty friends, Anita here sharing a layout for cocoa vanilla studio using the new
Christmas collection merry and bright absolutely adore the colour palette
I took a bunch of photos of my Christmas tree last year
I started with white cardstock and some mixed media to add to the background using a stencil , heavy body gel and some light pink paint and Mixed it all together and applied it to the stencil then once it dried I trimmed down my white cardstock and added oh Christmas tree pattern paper to the back of the cardstock
Then next I cut a strip of pattern paper from the 6×8 paper pad and added a fringe to one side then I punched a border with a border punch from joy to the world patterned paper added some crape paper to it to add more texture the I just layered them together and added them to the layout
I then Matted my photo on papers from the 6×8 paper pad and created a tag from the 3 x 4 pocket card to tuck in my photo layers the a doily and adhered it down add it just over lapping the fringed border strip
Then next I used a title cut file from @neatncraftycutz to add on top of my border strip just overlapping the bottom of my photo then I started adding a bunch of ephemera and fussy cut flowers cut from joy to the world around my photo and title to add floral elements to the layout and a sticker from the sticker sheet to the top of my photo
pop on over and check out my process video on the cocoa vanilla studio YouTube channel
I hope you have enjoyed my inspiration today
And you are enjoying all the beautiful merry and bright creations .
Happy crafting…
Hello! Its Melissa here and I’m so excited to be sharing my first layout made with the brand new ‘MERRY & BRIGHT’ collection!! This collection is totally stunning and I was so happy to start using it. I decided to scrap an older photo of my daughter Brielle from a couple of years ago with a Christmas cookie at one of our favourite cafes. My challenge was to use black, and I chose to use black acrylic paint and black mist spatters.
I decided to go bold with this page, and used the ‘SEASON’S GREETING’ patterned paper as my background. I painted on some black paint with a foam brush to create visual separation, and its only because of the paint that this page doesn’t appear too busy. I added large white spatters on top of the back paint once it was dry.
I backed my photo with several papers from the ‘A5 PAPER STACK’, and I love that they are such a thick weight and can handle lots of distressing! I cut a larger piece of the scripted font paper and tore the bottom edge for extra texture.
I fussy cut one of the floral clusters from ‘JOY TO THE WORLD’ for my main embellishment cluster. I cut the pieces apart fully, and then placed them back together in a configuration I liked on top of my photo. My journalling and title are utilising two of the ‘POCKET CARDS’. I had to use one of the cute houses from the ‘DIE CUT EPHEMERA’ pack too!
Of course I had to add one of the gorgeous gold ‘PUFFY STARS’!! I added some other ephemera pieces too. My final touch was to add large black and gold splatters!
I’m so grateful for this challenge, as I don’t know if I would have thought to add black paint onto my layout! I also don’t think I would have used this patterned paper as a background.
You can watch my layout come together in my process video.
Have an awesome Black Friday weekend!

Hi CVS friends today I am sharing my first layout using the gorgeous new Christmas collection Merry & Bright.
As most of you know I LOVE cut files and what’s better when one is already cut for you with a beautiful water colour mixed media effect! (large die cut and backing kit) All I did before starting my layout is splattering the page with gold paint.
I love the Christmas Krispy Kreme doughnuts and so I have used this photo to Create a fun layout. My photo size is 4×4 inches. Using the 6×8 inch paper pack I used Star Bright and Oh Christmas Tree papers and cut at 4.2 inches. I angled each mat behind the photo but attached the photo straight with foam tape over the right of the tree.
I tucked under my photo the double heart flair buttons and finished off using two die cut tabs from the ephemera pack.
I created a floral cluster on the left side of the tree, using foam tape of some of the florals to add dimension. I tucked a die cut ticket slightly under the larger flower.
Of course I had to add the happy Father Christmas die cut and created a small embellishment cluster in the lower left corner of my layout, again using foam tape on some of the die cut ephemera.
Lastly I added one of the gold puffy hearts to the top of the tree. I had considered adding some machine stitching but to be honest this cut file kit is just perfect the way it is.
Super quick and super easy layout that still looks fabulous!
Thank you for stopping by today and I will see you again soon with an off the page creation all about Christmas.
