Space cards | No limits Collection | Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here with my next project made with amazing “No limits” collection. Super talented CVS Team has been playing with this line for a while and girls created all sorts of inspirational and fantastic layouts. Their ideas blow my mind! That’s why I though I will surprise you with something a little bit different this time. I made cards! Yep, not a common thing in my scrappy portfolio but I like to make a card or two from time to time. Especially when the idea comes to my mind for a specific products. That was the case this time. When I saw all those space related items like planets, stars and rockets, I though it would be fun to use them in an interactive design. I made three quite simple and easy to recreate cards.

First card has a slider, that moves the rocket up and down. It was the easiest and fastest to make and didn’t required any special tools. I started with cutting the background from A5 Paper Stack twice, in the same size. Then I took a craft knife and a ruler and cut out the strip of paper from one of the backgrounds. To estimate how wide the strip has to be, check what size of foam dots will you be using and add 1mm of each side. You will also need something small and heavy, like a coin. I used 1 cent, which was just perfect.

Next step was to add pieces of foam tape under the first layer of background leaving the tunnel for the coin to move up and down. Put the coin on the first layer of background, add second layer with the foam and glue them together. You should be able to see the coin under the strip. Next, add a foam dot on top of the coin and place the rocket. I used the one from Die Cuts pack, but I trimmed off the white outline to better fit the dark background. Slider is ready! Now you can finish the card by adding the planet on the bottom and some stars and smaller planets. My “Earth” was fussy cut from “Universal” paper. Stars come from Chipboard Stickers sheet and Puffy Stickers.

Second card also has a slider, but in a round shape. This time I had to reach out for dies and die cutting machine. I used to sizes of circles, one slightly smaller than another, to make a round tunnel for the rocket. Rest of the process was pretty much the same – foam layer, coin, foam dot. Decorating the card was also simple as I wanted the rocket to shine. You also need to remember to let the tunnel open so the slider can work smoothly.

This time my planet was fussy cut from the globe from Die Cuts pack. It was just a perfect size. Title for the card was created by cutting one of the stickers from 6*12 Sticker Sheet into pieces. I wanted it to match the “space” theme. Super cute Puffy Stickers stars are a perfect match for any project.

Last card doesn’t have any movable element. It has a shaker instead. I used one of the stars from Die Cut pack to make it. I actually used two of them (from the secon pack) becasue I wanted my star to hang of the side of the card, thus the other side of it would be visible too. If you are planing to place the shaker in the middle of the card, one star will be enough. I started making my shaker by adding a layer of think double sided tape on the left side of the star. I then added a piece of transparency and cut it into the proper shape. I did it twice, with both stars. Next step was to add a layer of foam tape cut into narrow strips on the edges of the star. It was ready to be filled with sequins and glitter. After that, I sealed the shaker with second star. This way, you can use either side of it.

Decorating the card as simple and easy, as with the previous cards. Rocket and few stars make the whole composition. “Reach for the stars” sticker was a perfect finishing touch.

Cards for Christmas | Joyful collection | Michelle Stokes

Hello Hello and a very Merry Christmas to you all. It’s Michelle here today with a new festive crafty share using our beautiful Joyful Collection. I’ll keep this post short and sweet too, as I know you’re all probably out there enjoying the day with family.

I’ve been wanting to make some handmade cards for our immediate family at Christmas for years now, and this year I finally carved out some time to make some. The Joyful collection contains so many pretty elements that can easily be transformed into quick cards ready to pass along to loved ones near and far.

I made a couple different sizes of cards, the usual 4×6 size a 5×5 and a 6×6. All started with some white cardstock for the base of the card then a pattern paper background using the A5 paper stack. Smaller prints make the perfect background for smaller projects.

Each card has a different design while incorporating similar elements. Fussy cut florals from the ‘Tis the season‘ paper and some tiny gold puffy stars from the Puffy title stickers pack

A couple of them have accessory stickers, ephemera pieces and chipboard words

And each of them have machine stitching for a little extra detail

I cant quite pick a favourite out of the mix as all of them turned out so cute. I’m going to find it hard to figure out who gets what card, but I cant wait to give them out later today.

Christmas Cards | Joyful Collection | Raquel Bowman

Hey everyone, today I am sharing a set if three cards for Christmas using the Joyful collection. This is a new kind of share for me as I normally create layouts to share with you but I was inspired by the cute animals within the collection and wanted to create with them right away.

Here are the cards that I created –

To create these 3 cards I used mainly the A5 paper pad and embellishments from the ephemera, chipboard sheet, accessory stickers and puffy stickers.

The reindeer in the first card was so adorable that I wanted to feature it. I used a frame from a 3×4 card to make it really stand out .

How cute is this bear?! 

The final card I am sharing features this cute rabbit from the collection. I tried to create the cards as individuals but for them to have consistent elements within the set of three.

Holiday Cards | Joyful Collection | Laura Alberts

Hey y’all! Laura back again with three holiday card from the stunning new Cocoa Vanilla Studio Joyful collection! I really adore the sweet icons and beautiful patterns in this one. It was so much fun to experiment with a variety of papers, fussy cutting everything, and adding the sparkly finishing touches! For the first card, I layered fussy cut florals in the background with a tree from the ephemera pack and a chipboard piece that says “Falalalala” for my central focal point. The title is simply “Jolly” wrapped over the top from the ephemera pack. Those tiny details really are what makes this one pop! With one of the gold fabric stars for the top of the tree and gold Nuvo Drops dotted in the center of the florals and around the backyard, this card really shines!

On the second card, I layered two patterned papers from the A5 paper stack as a base for my large title. The “Christmas Joy” is from the chipboard stickers and is a stunning gold foil! I layered a large fussy cut swag behind the “Joy” and then added dimension with a second layer of fussy cut florals on top of it. My favorite part of this particular card are the little floral bits that look like they are flitting around the outside of both the swag and the title. With more Nuvo Drops for a sparkly detail, this card came together rather quickly after all of that fussy cutting!

For the third card, I decided to create a scene with these adorable animal icons! A little white card stock for snow along the bottom was a quick and easy base for this sweet deer and squirrel. I created the appearance of depth to this one by layering the tree and sign behind the deer, which gives the allusion they are further back. I added chipboard stars across the top of the card with Nuvo Drop trails leading down to them, so that they appear to be hanging from the sky! The “Jingle All the Way” sentiment is from the chipboard stickers and just like before, gold Nuvo Drops were the final details this one needed!

I hope you enjoyed my take on holiday cards using the gorgeous new Joyful collection! They were so much fun to make and I can’t wait to share them with family and friends! Don’t be afraid to use some of the dimensional embellishments on your cards! Once I removed several layers of chipboard behind the titles, they laid quite flat!

 

 

 

Memorydex Cards | Sunkissed Collection | Danni Visser

Hi there Cocoa Vanilla fans! Danni here sharing a fun project that I have recently become obsessed with – Memorydex cards! These fun little rolodex-style cards have become a crafty trend lately, and I have been loving how quick they are to make. These bright summery ones made with the Sunkissed collection are going to be included in swaps with some crafty friends x

The base for these cards is a 3x4inch rectangle. I used a combination of 12×12 patterned paper scraps, the A5 paper stack and 3×4 pocket cards. I recently splurged on a specialist punch to make the rolodex holes, but there are also dies and digital cutfiles available to achieve the same thing.

For the rainbow cards, I cut three arch shapes from the A5 paper stack and distressed the edges. I then popped them up on foam and added them to the card bases. I then layered up some title die cuts from the die cut ephemera with tiny word phrases from the accessory stickers.  I added a sun die cut and some dimensional drops to finish them off.

For the next couple of cards, I fussy cut the ‘vacay vibes’ drink, ice cream cone and rainbow elements from the 3×4 pocket cards. I layered the drink element with a palm tree, hearts and phrase banner die cut ephemera, as well as some dimensional drops.

I layered the ice cream cone with the rainbow and ‘Love This’ piece, plus a tiny word phrase accessory sticker. I added a bunch of dimensional drops to the ice cream to look like sprinkles, added a white gel pen sketchy border and a splattering of gold ink.

For the next two cards I wanted to create little tropical beach scenes. I love the ombre yellow to orange of Summer Lights 12×12 patterned paper as the base for these. I layered up pieces of beach-themed die cut ephemera next. For card 1 I used a towel, beach umbrella, bikini and flip flops to make the cutest little beach flatlay.

For card 2 I used another palm tree and the adorable coconut cocktail, plus some hearts and a few accessory stickers. Some of these I popped up on adhesive foam for extra dimension, then I outlined the hearts with white gel pen and added some more gold ink splatters and dimensional drops.

I love all the little details in these cards! They are the perfect little keepsake to swap with friends, although I love them so much I think I will have to keep at least one for myself. All of these designs would make adorable greeting cards as well, this collection is so easy to use. Thanks for joining me today. Happy scrapping!

Cards | Legendary | Anita Bownds

Hi there crafty friends,
Anita here today sharing a couple fun cards using the new fabulous legendary cut file available for free in the cocoa vanilla studio store and the awesomeness legendary collection …
these are super easy fun cards to make only using white cardstock , 3 papers ,ephemera and 2 of the cut files sized to fit my cards.
I started with 2 white card bases and chose 3 patterned papers outdoors type, epic tales and wild one 
And cut out the legendary cut files on white cardstock

Then I cut and layered outdoors type on both card bases then next I cut a piece of epic tales for each of the cards a added a machine stitched border around the edge then adhered them down.

 

I backed both cut files with wild one and adhered then down with double sided foam tape to add dimension then added ephemera on more double sided foam tape to add more texture and dimension

 

And using ephemera, plastic and a few sequins I created a shaker for the front of one of the cards.

Hoppy Easter | Happiness and Unforgettable | Kylie Kingham.

Hello everyone! Wherever you are in the world right now, I hope you are happy,safe and well. It’s Kylie back with you today to share some more Easter inspiration. I really wanted to challenge myself for today’s project and try something new.So I decided to create some Easter themed, fold out cards using the Happiness and Unforgettable collections combined.

Whilst looking for inspiration via the Silhouette store, I did a search for Easter items and found the templates for both cards. The first card I created was predominantly the ‘Happiness’ collection.

I’ve also used some white and chocolate brown card stock from my stash for the basket, flowers and rabbit, just so I had the tonal effect I wanted. Each card consists of a liner page which had all the necessary slots for the positioning of all the eggs, the lettering and the rabbit. Once in place I added some extra flowers and one of the cute bows from the ‘Unforgettable’ collection.

For my second card I have predominantly used the ‘Unforgettable’ collection.

This card also had a liner for all the 3D elements to be added.I found it easier to have everything in place before adhering it to the card base.A tape runner has been used to adhere the liner as glue may of ‘wrinkled’ a little and I wanted to have it sitting flat.

Extra flower die cuts and a bow have again been added to finish off the card nicely and to ensure a neat balance. I have also used a white marker pen to add a free hand drawn border to the edges of the card. Once completed each card folds down relatively flat so that they can be sent to someone special!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my cards today and they have given you a little inspiration to try something new also!

Christmas Cards | Mixed Collections | Mandy Melville

Hello everyone!

Mandy here with you today to share a set of Christmas cards that I created using a combination of Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections! I chose a fresh and pretty colour scheme of pink, aqua, and lime, with a touch of grey and woodgrain. I then pulled together some products from the Happiness, Boys Rule, and You Rock collections to create my cards. I’m going to show you that it’s super easy to create Christmas themed projects even if you don’t have a Christmas collection. Plus I think the Cocoa Vanilla products are gorgeous and are perfect for using for any occasion / theme!

For my first card, I started by adding a piece of the beautiful pink Expressive paper from the Happiness collection to the middle of the card. I also used the Straight & Narrow paper from the Boys Rule collection, and tucked the grey stripe side under the top edge of the pink paper, and the lime green side under the bottom edge. I then adhered a die cut frame from the Boys Rule Miscellany pack to the card using foam tape for added dimension. I used some Christmas stamps from my stash to add a sentiment inside the frame.

To embellish the card I fussy cut a couple of stars out of the You Rock Starshine patterned paper, and then I also traced one onto the Boys Rule Straight & Narrow paper and hand cut it out. I think the stars help to give it a Chrismasy feel! To finish the card off, I added a few Wild at Heart sparkly enamel dots.

For my next card, I used the same patterned papers, and this time I layered them in strips across the front of the card. I only adhered the edges of the grey stripe paper as I wanted to tuck a couple of tags in behind this strip. The smaller tag is from the Happiness die cut ephemera pack, and I stamped the phrase ‘merry merry merry’ onto this one. The larger tag I created using a metal die from stash and the Bright & Beautiful woodgrain patterned paper, also from the Happiness collection.

Once again I finished this card off with a couple of fussy cut stars from the You Rock Starshine patterned paper, and some enamel dots from the More than Words collection.

I love how these cards turned out using non-Christmas themed collections, and I can’t wait to hand them out to some special friends during the Christmas season!
