Hey y’all! Laura Alberts back again with another Great Escape layout, but this time it’s a birthday page. Four photos and a shower of stars is the recipe for creating a layout bursting with celebratory vibes! The colors were too perfect not to step outside the theme of this collection for a fun spin a column design.
I started with a strip of the stunning plaid on the Star Gazing patterned paper, layered it with thin strips of the navy, then attached it to the beautiful gray woodgrain of the Starry Night to build my background. I lined up my three smaller photos and a few cut aparts from the Wild Life paper to fill in my column.
On the right side, I scattered fussy cut stars from the Star Gazing patterned paper to create a second column, then added my 3×4 focal image and a journaling spot on top! The chipboard stickers were perfect to embellish both columns and add a title with a 3D pop!
I hope this layout inspires you to try stepping outside the theme! If you’d like to see how this layout came together, check out the process video below:
It’s Sophie with you today and I am excited to share my very first layout with the new Great Escape collection!
As soon as I saw it, I knew exactly which photo to document with it!!
I started with a white background and the Starry Night paper to place my photo and embellishments.
I mounted the photo on tissue paper, adhesive foam and a few layers of patterned papers from the A5 Paper Stack.
I placed the photo on the right side of the page, and added white gesso on the left side where I was about to build a little scenery.
I selected a few embellishments from the Die Cut Ephemera pack like the trees, signage and tent to support the theme of the layout, and scattered numerous stars around the photo and title (Foam Title Stickers).
I completed the page with a few stickers from the Accessory Stickers sheet, and handwrote my journaling directly on the white background.
Here are more close-ups:
Oh how I LOVE this collection!! It’s just perfect for outdoors memories!!!
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! As my posts always appear on 14’th of each month, I have this luck to be a Valentine’s Day inspiration each year too! So I always try to make something in a love theme and it became sort of mini tradition that I make little gifts for my daughters each year. It’s usually two sets containing of card and a little box for some treats. This year will be no different as I made heart shaped cards and boxes using “Happy days” collection.
This line is very versatile and has no specific theme so it’s easy to customize it. In this case by customization I mean making shaped hears and boxes. What better screams “Valentine’s Day” than hearts? So I used my digital die cutting machine and I cut two heart shaped boxes and two heart shaped card bases.
Each box can hold chocolates or other small gifts. I hose chocolates of course as my girls really like treats. Plus it is meant to be a small gift, just to appreciate them and tell them how much I love them. Valentine’s Day is not only about the other half for me. It’s about love in every shape and form, also to our children.
I created two sets in two different colors combinations. First one is yellow and it’s filled with fruits you can find within the “Happy days” collection. I spend some time to cut out them from “Juicy fruit” paper and from similar pattern you can find in A5 Paper Stack. Box itself is made with “Feel good” and “Little blossom” papers. Inscription on the box was made with super versatile Mini Puffy Alpha Stickers.
Card matching the first box is also decorated with fruits. I also added few butterflies fussy cut from “Flutterby” paper. Title on the card was created with Chipboard Title Stickers. I just treated them as alpha stickers picking letters I need from different words. I knew I won’t be able to use up all of them for titles so it seems like a good idea.
This card, similarly to the box, features flowers. It also has a title made with Chipboard Title Stickers. I finished the design by adding few little dots from Puffy Heart Stickers.
That is all for today. I hope you like my Valentine’s Day gift ideas and you are already waiting for the ones I will make next year ;)
Hug your loved ones today. See you in two weeks with an inspiration made with brand new “Great escape” collection.
Hey y’all! Laura Alberts here again with another Great Escape layout featuring a ton of camping photos from our trip to Cumberland Falls! The waterfalls at this campground were stunning, so I wanted to squeeze as many photos on this layout as possible. In the end, there are two 3×4 inch photos and four 2×3 inch photos documenting the sights and my kids exploring the area.
I started with a few paper strips, two from the cut-apart Wild Life patterned paper and the others are off-cuts from Starry Night and Journey. In addition, I fussy cut a ton of stars from Star Gazing and the feathers from Direction. I love the patterned papers that have designs perfect for fussy cutting!
In addition to the vertical and horizontal strips that I used as a base for my design, I added an little shelf in the center to hold my main focal images. The fussy cut stars added a nice detail to the rainbows along the vertical strip, while the rainbow stripe reflected the same color scheme along the bottom and on the shelf, creating continuity between the three clusters of photos.
I hope this layout inspires you to expand your use of paper strips to think outside of the box! If you’d like to see “Explore” come together, check out this process video below:
Hey y’all! Laura Alberts back again with the brand new Great Escape collection! Love the camping/nature theme with this one! I have so many beautiful photos of my family on camp-outs and hikes to scrap, so this collection came at the perfect time. I started with the stunning Horizon patterned paper for my background.
I layered some simple cloud cut files with the rainbow strip paper from the A5 paper stack, then added fussy cut clouds and stars from the Starry Night patterned paper. A few lovely stickers from the 6×12 sticker sheet made the perfect cluster under the title and added a little extra detail to my photos.
I created a journaling spot in one of the clouds and used manufacturing strips to create an interesting asymmetrical base for my photos to sit on. Love how trimming these strips in half allowed me to tuck them behind my photos and stretch them to the full width of the page!
I hope this layout inspires you to try a busy background for yourself! If you’d like to see how “Campers Life” came together, be sure to check out the process video below:
Hi everyone, this is Niki (@nikiclairecreates) with a new layout and Process Video using Happy Days! I focused on the colourful striped paper from the A5 Paper Stack and wanted to make a feature out of it on four sides of my layout.
I started off with wide strips of the stripes, and then I cut them into ‘steps’. The offcuts made for interesting step shapes too! I arranged these onto my layout but they didn’t quite look right on the far edges. So I drew a frame using a black pen, leaving a wide boarder, then I arranged the ‘step’ shapes around this frame. That worked really well.
I mounted my photo onto a rainbow sheet from the A5 Paper Stack so that it had a really colourful boarder to match the rest of the layout and slotted the photo into the step shapes on the left side of the layout.
I then began adding small areas of embellishments. I used Floral Ephemera in various places, some of the Die Cut Ephemera too. I also fussy cut some words from the Definitive Paper and added one to each of the four main ‘steps’. I also extended each of the words by adding a second word from the Mini Alphabet Stickers. So ‘Unique’ became ‘unique moments’, and ‘perfect’ became ‘perfect day’ etc.
I finished off with sequins by Spiegelmom Scraps, my handwritten journaling, and splatters of black paint which was a great contrast to all the bright colours in the layout! I love how this one turned out and it was super fun to make! Enjoy the process video below.
It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing one of my favourite to create – a boy layout! Because I have 2 sons, there is never a shortage of boy photos around here! I decided to pull out the awesome and very cool No Limits collection, one of my favourite boy lines by Cocoa Vanilla Studio! This photo is an older one of my youngest son who is now 13 – he is about 5 or 6 in this photo! I loved the way the shirt he is wearing matched some of the colours from the No Limits collection – that is where I got the inspiration from for my layout today.
I started off with a plain sheet of white cardstock – as I mostly do- then trimmed it down to measure approximately 11′ x 11′, backing this onto the ‘B’ side of the Big Bang patterned paper (the woodgrain side). I then pulled out a few of the various papers from the A5 paper stack and sorted through them to find some that co-ordinated with my son’s shirt. I decided to cut some into triangle shapes and then layered them top and bottom of the page. For some extra texture, I bent the edges of these papers and also applied a little mixed media to create a sort of shadow effect.
I placed craft foam underneath my photo and placed it in the centre of my layout, adding some layers underneath like a pocket card, a die-cut frame and a sticker and tag both from the Accessory sticker sheet. I love to layer embellishments on top of my photos and under my photos too, how about you? In the top right corner, I stapled a banner sticker here and tied a bow through the tag using some white wax cotton. In the bottom right corner, I placed the large star die-cut and added some chipboard ones on top.
In the bottom cluster of papers, I added another chipboard piece and also one of the super cute wooden epoxy buttons all from the No Limits collection. I love how these small details add some interest to an area to help draw your eye in. My title is ‘The Best’ letters from the chipboard sheet, I also added a phrase under the title, cut from the ‘Universal’ patterned paper. Another of the wooden epoxy buttons was also placed here and I love the teal/aqua coloured chipboard arrow pointing to the photo too.
Once I had most of the design in place and the larger elements on the page, I started to add smaller details for the finishing touches. I added some phrase stickers around the page and stamped the date stamp and added some sprinkles of mist in various colours also. Lastly I machine stitched a border around the entire edge using white thread.
Thank you so much for stopping by the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog today! I hope you have been inspired by my layout in some way! Make sure you share your creations with us if you get some time to pull out your Cocoa Vanilla collections and create some cool projects!
Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends and welcome to 2024!!!!
It’s Kel here today sharing my first layout of the year and I thought I would go with creating a favourite of mine….a BOY page using the ‘No Limits’collection.
Im documenting some pics of my youngest boy in one of his MANY soccer outfits… here is my page..
I decided I wanted to start with some mixed media, so I pulled out of my watercolours and used blue and green to make a fun messy background.
I have 3 photos printed at 3×4 and decided I wanted to go with a horizontal design. I used a mix of the Pocket Cards and some of the frames from the Ephemera Pack to layer up my photos.
Next I made my own tags with some of the patterned papers , adding twine to them to add more texture to my page.
I decided I needed some paper underneath my photos to ground them to the page, so I used the ‘Stardust’ and ‘Universal’ papers to do that.
For my title I used the ‘Die Cut Titles’…they add such a punch to any page. I also used some of the word strips from the Accessory Sticker Sheet.
Now onto the embellishing!
Around my pics I used mainly pieces from the Ephemera Packand some of the Wood Epoxy Buttons. I incorporated these onto of my photos and some in the layers …. all of my pics are popped up using foam tape.
To finish my page I used some of the stars from the collection…some chipboard, some die cuts, and some from the Puffy Stickers.
That’s it from me today, I hope you found some inspiration from my layout and I will be back next month with more to share..
Hello Friends. We are only three days until New Year so it’s a perfect time for all the summaries of year 2023. That’s why I want to invite you for a short journey through my favourite layouts from 2023 that I made with wonderful CVS collections. I picked four of them – pages I had the most pleasure making. Let’s dive into them!
This page was made with “Daydream” collection mostly. I focused on pattern paper, filled with flowers and went crazy with fussy cutting. Next step was to arrange a big bouquet using all those florals and butterflies. It’s a perfect recipe for using up the leftovers of any CVS collection.
You know I like adding some mixed media to my projects and here I played with vividly colored watercolor brushes. Scrapbooking memory from our trip to Barcelona using bits and pieces from “Sunkissed” collection was a pure joy.
After the summer, there comes fall and another mixed media layout. This time I reached for newest “Heart & Home” collection and wonderful, warm color palette. Die cutting bunch of leaves from pattern papers is always a good idea! It’s a perfect way to use up scraps or smaller paper pads.
Last layout I wanted to share with you is also made with “Heart & Home” collection and it documents one of our family trips. I reached for one of my all time favourites – wooden pattern as a background of the page. Little doodled frames were a perfect match with my photos.
I can’t wait to see what Zoe prepared for upcoming year 2024. Whatever it will be, I am sure it will look amazing as always. I know you are waiting for new line as impatiently as I am!
Thank you so much for spending your time with me and see in 2024! Sending you lots of grean New Year’s wishes!
Hello crafty Friends! Can you believe it’s December already and we are only 10 days till Christmas? It’s a very last call to make and send christmas cards so I have few ideas to share with you today. I am a great procrastinator and I keep pushing things from my “to do” list to the very last possible day it can be done. Making my cards is no different. That’s why I need to be efficient and fast in making them. Today I have a set of four cards to show you, all made with super cute “Joyful” collection from past years. But worry not – my tips can be used for any other collections too!
Let’s start with card bases. I never have enough of premade card bases as I simply do not make that many cards, so it’s pointless for me to keep bulks of them. Instead, I came up with this quick fix – I am using paper sheets from A5 Paper Stack! This way my card base is colorful and pretty on the outside, and white in the inside. I simply fold the paper in half and card base is done! Just remember to pick patterns that look good both horizontally and vertically so, let’s say your christmas trees, won’t be tilted to the side on the folded base. I picked four different papers for all of my cards.
For each card base I later picked another pattern paper from A5 Paper Stack for the card front. In case of this card, it was papers with cute, little trees. They inspired me to create my own, bigger tree! I simply cut strips of another, darker green pattern. I then trimmed each piece to be slightly shorter then the previous one and glued them to the front of the card. You can create christmas trees in many colors! It doesn’t have to be green. Final step was to add presents under the tree using cute Puffy Stickers and some stars on the tree that look like a ornaments. I mixed Chipboard Stickers and Golden Puffy Stickers from the same collection.
Second card features some christmas greenery cut out from one of the 12*12 patterns. I just arranged them on candy cane pattern paper vertically and finished the card using Golden Puffy Titles stickers as a sentiment. Few golden stars here and there added even more festive look. This technique is perfect if you are running low on embellishments but still have plenty of papers left. Especially the ones that can be used for fussy cutting!
This card has more fresh color palette and I once again reached for fussy cutting to get more embellishments. I found this “falalalala” word in my Ephemera Pieces and I knew I wanted to use it at the center on the card. To fill the empty space around it, I added some stars that I fussy cut from one of the papers from A5 Paper Stack. I finished the composition by adding even more, smaller stars from Chipboard Stickers and Golden Puffy Titles Stickers.
Last card I made features sentiment strips from 6*12 Stikecrs Sheet. I used up most of the sheet but I still gor left those gold foiled words. So I decided to add a lot of them on one card. They look like a speach bubbles coming out from the mouth of a christmas bear. I also added some presents at the bottom of the card. Another quick and easy composition!
How do you like my tips and ideas for christmas cards? I hope they will help you create your own handmade cards. Thank you so much for spending your time with me. See you soon!
