Today I am sharing another layout using the fab! Great Escape collection! This layout has been created using only the A5 Paper Pad.
The only thing you have to remember is that anything you cut must be 6×8 inches. This is a great way to either save your 12×12 inch papers or when your supply of the 12×12 inches papers is running low. I cut 10 scallop strips using different colours and patterns to create my background. So they stood out I added some black machine stitching to each strip.
I next cut my title Wild & Free using a cut file from the Silhouette design store which I then offset using a darker colour to add contrast so my title really popped on the white background paper.
Using another cut file from the Silhouette Design store, polaroid Frames, which I back filled with the journal cards also from the A5 paper pad. I added my two photos and set about embellishing this with Puffy Stickers, Accessory stickers and ephemera die cuts.
I used chipboard pieces to add over my scallop paper strips to add dimension. I layered the stars and used foam tape to add dimension.
This layout was super easy to put together and you could do a 8 1/2 x 11 inch version. You could also add larger photos or more photos. I love the colours of this collection and the A5 paper pad has some colours/designs that are not in the 12×12 collection pack.
As always thank you for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you to get out your A5 paper pad and think of ways you can use it to create a layout.
Hi Cocoa Vanilla friends and welcome back to the blog.
It’s Kel here today and I am sharing my take on the Scrap Lift challenge that is running this month. Have you had a chance to enter the comp? There are 3 different pages to choose from…or you could lift all 3! I decided to scrap lift this layout from design team member Michelle Stokes….
For my page, I am using the brand new The Great Escape collection..here is my page..
I changed the design by not using squares, instead using elongated hexagons. I mounted a smaller hexagon on top and added hand stitching to give them texture.
I have used 2 photos like Michelle, applying them slightly offset, and mounted them onto black cardstock to help them pop off the page, then embellished on a diagonal through the photos.
To the top left of the page I have used a piece from the die cut ephemerawith a hand cut star and a black star that I cut from cardstock, to add a pop of black to the top of the page..
Next I used a sticker above my photo from the Accessory Sticker Sheet and a chipboard banner from the Chipboard Stickerswhich I added onto my photo. Under the photo I used a label from the A5 paper stack to add my place and date.
To the bottom right of my photos is where I added my title. I used the Chipboard Stickers for “Fun Times Ahead’.. I love how they pop off the page… and of course I had to add some of the signature Cocoa Vanilla stars that Zoe adds to her more masculine collections..
Under the title I used some of the phrases from the Accessory Sticker Sheet. I always find these easy to use..
I hope you have enjoyed seeing how I scrap lifted Michelles gorgeous page today and I look forward to seeing your pages in the Cocoa Vanilla Facebook group.
It’s Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing a Christmas themed scrapbook layout with you featuring the gorgeous Merry and Bright collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. Do you like scrapbooking Christmas? I absolutely love it and would scrapbook using Christmas collections all year if I could!
I started my layout with a white cardstock base and decided to document a Snapchat photo of myself taken last Christmas Day, it goes perfectly with the Merry & Bright collection. I pulled out one of the frames from the ephemera pack and adhered it to my photo, I then added craft foam to the underneath of the photo. Before I adhered the photo to the white cardstock, I trimmed a piece of the woodgrain paper from the A5 paper stackand layered and adhered it underneath the photo, adhering the photo down on top.
I built my entire layout around the photo in the centre, choosing to leave lots of white space on this page. I tucked in some florals from the ephemera packon either side of the photo, bending the edges of the leaves and flowers to create some shadows on my page. On top of the floral cluster on the right, I adhered a gorgeous flair button on top and also added a heart from the ephemera packalso. Above the photo, I adhered the ‘Merry’ tab and from the accessory stickers, I placed the banner with the star in the top right of my photo.
At the bottom of my photo, I placed the ‘Merry Christmas’ sticker from the accessory sticker sheet and this became my title for the page also. I also placed the rectangle journal spot sticker under the title sticker. Once I was happy with the centre cluster that is the main focus of my layout, I started to add some details to the top and bottom of the page. I cut out a strip of the pink, red and white stripe paper for both the top and bottom, I also scalloped the edge of a piece of the green check paper and adhered that piece at the top. I added some ephemera pieces, a banner sticker and one of the gorgeous gold stars also.
On the bottom edge, I added some more ephemera pieces and another gorgeous gold star also. Some of the smaller and last details I added were the small phrase stickers, the date stamp and splattered some gold Heidi Shine around my page also. I love how the gold Heidi shine looks against the white and also how some of it has landed on the holly leaves as well. Once I was happy with my final layout on the white cardstock, I then trimmed down the white cardstock and adhered it to the coral 12′ x 12′ patterned paper from the collection.
Thank you so much for stopping by the Cocoa Vanilla blog today! I hope you enjoyed reading about how I created my layout as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Do you have the Merry & Bright collection? I encourage you to pull it out and create some pretty things with it!
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe, happy and healthy new year.
It’s Sophie on the blog today with a new layout to share!
I used the beautiful Christmas collection “Joyful” for my page.
I wanted to use this cute cut file from Nic Squirrell that I bought on the Silhouette Studio store a while ago. I cut it on white cardstock and backed it with several patterned papers from the collection.
Before adhering it to my background cardstock, I created a mixed media background with pinks and gold from different inks from my stash. I also added white splatters. I let everything dry completely and added my cut file and black and white photo, both mounted on adhesive foam, on top of it.
I grounded everything with two pieces of teared patterned papers that I stitched down with gold thread.
I printed my title with alphabet stamps from my stash, and decorated around my photo and food mixer cut file with fussy cut stars and floral die cuts, all from the same collection.
Here are more close-ups:
I hope that this was inspiring to you!
Thank you so much for stopping by, and happy crafting!
It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new scrapbook layout featuring the stunning NEW Storyteller collection!
For this week I was given the brief of focusing on the wood epoxy buttons in the Storyteller collection! How can you go past these cute embellishments? These are great little additions to any project, providing beautiful dimension and texture!
I recently went away on a little weekend getaway and there was a lovely fireplace inside the cabin we stayed in, I took a couple of selfies in front of the fire as it was so cozy!
I chose the ‘B’ side of the beautiful Spring Fling paper for my background, trimming it down slightly and adhering it a piece of plain white cardstock, I printed my photo in black and white and distressed the edges of the photo, I then pulled out one of the pocket cards and layered it under my photo. I popped the photo up from the pocket card using craft foam, I love the dimension this creates on my layout. On the photo, I stapled a banner sticker from the accessory sticker sheet and to the right of the photo I also adhered a tab from the ephemera pack.
For my main design element I decided on a circle design, and since the gorgeous wood epoxy buttons are the feature, it allowed me to add lots to the centres of the circles!
I took my circle punches and the A5 paper stack and punched out a few circles from the papers in different sizes, I then layered them together to create 5 layered circles……I distressed the edges of all of the circles and added craft foam in between each layer to add dimension and texture.
I then took a wood epoxy button and added one to the centre of each of the layered circles I created. Once the layered circles were completed, I arranged them on my page how I liked them. I adhered them down, leaving some space at the bottom at the bottom to add a title and some more embellishments. I adhered the gorgeous rainbow banner from the ephemera pack below my photo and popped up the circle die-cut on the right of the photo. On the left of the photo, I just had to add the circle sticker from the accessory sticker sheetthat says. ‘But First, Let Me Take a Selfie. I added pop dots to the left edge of this piece and placed it overlapping the photo slightly.
I chose the title ‘So Happy’ from the awesome foam title stickers from the collection and placed the title below my photo and also took some phrase stickers from the accessory stickers and added these below the title and above my photo too. To balance out the other side of the page, I adhered the shorter rainbow banner die-cut from the ephemera pack. I also adhered the camera chipboard piece using craft foam to add dimension and adhered another of the wood epoxy buttons in the centre of the camera.
To help fill in some of the spaces between the circles, I bought in some of the smaller embellishments. I added some of the button die-cuts, some puffy stickers, accessory stickers, foam black hearts and even more wood epoxy buttons too. I added two of the black foam hearts to create the all important visual triangle on my page, strategically placing the hearts in places to draw your eye around the layout. Lastly I sprinkled some white mist and stamped the date stamp.
Thank you so much for stopping by the Cocoa Vanilla blogtoday! I had so much fun creating this layout and focusing on the super cute wood epoxy buttons! I hope you enjoyed reading how I created it. Make sure to ask your retail store for the gorgeous Storyteller collection…you absolutely NEED this in your life!
Hello everyone and welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla blog.
Today I’m sharing my first page using the new ‘Storyteller’collection and it was so fun and overwhelming to jump into a brand new collection with so many things to choose from ….does anyone else have trouble making decisions when faced with ALL the choices?!
First, I decided on the ‘Cross it off ‘ paper to use as my base…I love a subtle grid for a background.
I decided to use a cutfile for my title so pulled out the A5 paper stack to back the letters….no having to cut into the 12×12 papers!! To help make the white of the cutfile stand out I added another piece of the ‘Cross it Off’ paper behind it.
To give some dimension, I added foam tape behind my title.
I loved these pics of my son from several years ago being a ham in front of the camera and his clothes were a perfect match for this collection. As they were action shots I decided to cut my photos into silhouettes so they added a fun element to my page. Next I chose a frame the Diecut ephemera pack to add under my sons pic to ground his photo to the page, and stop it look like he was floating.
I love the cameras in this collection and added one between my photos. To add some texture to my camera I added the inside of a ‘Wooden Button’ to the lens… I like the pop of yellow! I also added a sticker from the ‘Accessory Sticker Sheet.’
Give me all the puffy stickers in a collection, and the hearts and dots in this range wont disappoint you….so fun! I added some either side of my two photos.
I hope you enjoyed my page today and are looking forward to getting this collection in you hands…it’s not too far away now!
Good morning everyone and welcome back to the CVS blog.
For today’s layout I thought I would pull out the ‘These Days’ collection from my stash and create a more feminine page to share with you.
I had an idea of wanting to create a design with multiple photos on my page and I managed to squeeze 18 photos on….. I have never done this before and am really happy with the result.
I decided to print off a bunch of photos of my husband with myself and all of the kids. To keep the page from getting too busy I decided to print my pictures in black and white.
I wanted to create a focal point for my title to sit on so I cut out a globe cut file and used papers from the A5 paper stack to back it.
To fill out the globe I cut out a heap of the florals from the ‘Homegrown’ paper and some of the houses from the ‘Neighbourhood’ paper. For the florals, instead of sticking them flat to the page, I simply used my hands to bend the petals slightly then glued the centres down. I finished the clusters off with some of the hearts from the ‘Clear Stickers’ and some of the word phrases from the ‘Accessory Sticker Sheet.’
Happy Wednesday my friends,
We’re half way through the week and I am more than happy to share with you a layout I created with the Daydream collection. It was just perfect to document the photo of my husband and myself. If you’re looking for the YouTube process video, you can fine it HERE on the Cocoa Vanilla channel.
I jumped right in and used quite a few pieces of cardstock from the collection kit including: Sunshower (both sides), Up in the Clouds, and Over the Rainbow. I also layered in a white piece of cardstock for some contrast and to break up all the patterns. My photo is matted with papers from the A5 Paper stack and then mounted on some dimensional foam for height and depth.
I wanted to create a visual divide of floral between the vertical papers and my background paper. I used the Die Cut Ephemera and layered tons of pretty florals to create this effect. Then, using the Die Cut Titles, I selected the words “Life is Good” and layered those right between the papers and florals. This is a different placement for me with the title but I am liking the play of placement.
I then added a few clusters of embellishments around my photo. I also tucked in some metallic gold thread behind my photo as well as created a nest of thread for the Flair Button to sit in. Using the type stickers from the Accessory Stickers, I picked out a few and added them onto my Polaroid frame to give me a sub-title.
Lastly, and to finish off my layout, I added some sequins from the Sequins & Florals packet and some metallic gold paint splatters and called this layout done! I hope you enjoyed today’s layout and if you’d like to see a more in-depth process, you can click the link above and watch it on YouTube ☺️
Hello there CV fans! It’s Kylie with you again today with a very colourful layout to share featuring the new ‘No Limits’ collection. I am always experimenting with ways to incorporate lots of different papers into my page designs. (Perhaps that comes from my inability to choose just one favourite paper!) I decided to create a background feature with ‘panel’ strips of paper for the layout I am sharing with you today.
I chose the ‘NEBULA’ paper as my background and I cut down a white sheet of cardstock to measure 10″x 9.5″. Next I trimmed several strips of various papers to measure 1.5″x 9″. I then laid every strip across the white panel, making sure to adjust the position of each so that they were all evenly space. I wanted to have a nice even edge of white showing around each piece. When I was happy with how it looked I adhered everything down with double sided tape. Once complete I adhere the whole piece to the background paper, lined up neatly next to the right side edge.
As some of you may know from my previous paper adventures, I love working with BIG titles. I wanted to include two big titles in my page design so first created a mat for my photo. Since my photo was 6″x 4″ I trimmed my photo mat to measure 6.25″x 4.25″ which gave a lovely neat border. I adhered the photo to my page with foam adhesives squares and adhered my first title over my photo from the ephemera pack. To create layers and dimension I tucked some more of the ephemera pieces behind the photo and added a few with more foam adhesive squares. (I think the rocket ships in this collection are some of my favourite decorative pieces!)
To keep my page balanced I added the second title to the base of the photo using the title die cut pack. I also added some of the typed phrases from the sticker sheet below it. To finish my page I added just a few more stars from the ephemera pack.
Thanks friends for stopping by the blog today. I hope my layout has given you a little inspiration to perhaps try something new with your own scrapbooking.
