Hey y’all! Laura Alberts here with a fun large photo layout! I love scrapping large photos like this 6×12 layout that I had printed of my second oldest on a camping trip. Love the way I can incorporate the gorgeous rainbow design on this patterned paper from the Happy Days collection. Using a tone on tone embellishing style helped this layout feel fun without overwhelming or overshadowing the photo.
On each stripe of the rainbow, I added a coordinating word phrase from the 12×12 cut-apart patterned paper and a few fussy cut elements that were close matches. I particularly loved all of the stitching details on this paper and tried not to cover them up! The trail of butterflies on the right side was a great way to add movement and whimsy to the page.
With a simple chipboard title at the bottom and journaling added in the center of the rainbow, this layout came together fairly quickly, but turned out beautiful! All of the little details make it such a memory beautifully preserved. My favorite part is the tiny, fussy cut florals on each stripe of the rainbow.
I hope this layout inspires you to try larger photos or tone on tone embellishing in your next design! If you’d like to see how this layout came together, check out the process video below:
Welcome to Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s blog; how lovely to have you here today! I’m Josefine, and I’m happy to share with you a new scrapbook layout filled with summer fun. For this project, I’ve chosen the amazing “Happy Days” collection. This bright summer colors bring my memories to life on paper, and I couldn’t be more excited to dive into this creative journey.
To start off, I’ve used a white sheet of cardstock as my base. The design paper with its vibrant rainbow pattern caught my eye, and I carefully cut each colored strip separately. Adding a touch of light blue stitching along the edges by using my sewing machine. So I create a lovely touch to the strips.
With the strips I begin to arrange them into a triangle design. For some of the strips, I fold them slightly to create more depth and dimension, adding a playful touch to the overall layout. Now, it’s time to incorporate my summer fun photo, almost in the center on top of the colorful strips. I also select various shape die-cuts and flower die-cuts to create clusters around the photo. To add more charm, I cut out butterflies from the patterned paper and place them strategically between the clusters. A smaller cluster in the upper right corner helps to balance the layout.
For the title, I go for a combination of different alphabet sets. “Sweet Summer Days” perfectly captures the essence of this layout, and I love how the mix of these two different alphabet sets adds a playful touch. A little colored tab beneath the photo and a few cardstock word strips complete my layout. And there you have it, a finished a summer fun scrapbook layout!
I hope this layout sparks some creative ideas for you, and I wish you a fantastic and artistic day. Until next time on the Cocoa Vanilla Blog.
Hey everyone! This is Niki (@nikiclairecreates) and I’m excited to be back with another project and process video Guest Designing for Cocoa Vanilla Studio! This time I have made a mini album. It is a box in the shape of a rainbow, with an arch shaped mini album inside!
To make the box, I started with the front and back covers. I hand drew a rainbow onto a piece of scrap cardstock and cut it out and then used this as a template. I traced around it onto lots of different papers from the A5 paper stack and cut them all out, then distressed the edges and layered them all together. I then mounted this onto a piece of white card and cut out leaving a white border. I added pink hand stitching around the edge using embroidery thread I did all this twice so I had identical rainbows, one for the front of the box and one for the back.
To make the clouds I did the same: hand-drew a cloud onto a piece of scrap cardstock and cut it out to use as a template. I drew around it onto that super-cute ditsy heart print which I cut out and mounted onto white card. I added pick stitching around all of the clouds, then added them to my rainbows.
To make the inside part of the box, I used yellow cardstock to make an insert. I make these really simple, just two pieces of cardstock cut and folded – you can see more details on the process video.
With the box assembled, I moved on to making the mini album itself. I again created a template from white cardstock for the pages and cut that out. I then used this as a template for all pages. I drew them onto more papers from the A5 Paper Stack and cut them out. I then stuck them all together, back to back, to make a super-easy album, which I secured around the outside with ribbon.
I embellished the front of the box with a Chipboard Title, a few pieces of Floral Ephemera, a fussy cut butterfly and some phrase stickers. I also added the title ‘Rainbow Run’ using those adorable Mini Puffy Alphabet Stickers, to one of the clouds.
To embellish the album itself, I wanted to include the wooden medal from the Rainbow Run (this mini album is all about a sponsored run I took part in) and the actual ribbons from the medals at the event. I managed to incorporate those onto the front page and the ribbons are what tie the album together I think it’s really great to include momentums like that within albums if possible and these were perfect!
The album itself is quite interactive – I have 40 photos to include, so it had to be! Some pages have photos that flip up or flip out, there is a ball-chain containing 11 photos, there is also a pocket page. On one of the pages, I made a shaker pocket: I cut a piece of acetate to the same size as the page, pierced holes all the way around the edge and chain stitched with the same pink thread used for the album covers, trapping the sequins inside. I love how this looks!
I used more papers from the A5 paper stack throughout the album to decorate the pages and mount my photos. I’ve also used lots of Floral Ephemera,Phrase Stickers and several of the puffy heart stitchers throughout the album. I also used some of the other Chipboard Titles to make feature pages.
I absolutely love how this turned out, it is just adorable and so pretty to look at and I had the perfect photos for a rainbow album! I really hope you have enjoyed it too. I have made a process video of this mini album, which includes a flip through too, you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/jvOZK-Qy43o . Thank you so much Cocoa Vanilla Studio for having me as a Guest Designer, I have loved it!
Hey y’all! Laura Alberts back again with a fun column design using the new Happy Days collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio! Using the manufacturing strips to create these fun, super slim columns allowed me to add four 3×4 inch photos on this page.
On each of the columns, I added a ton of cut-apart pieces from both the 12×12 and A5 paper stack versions. Plus, a couple of cute gold foiled accents from the specialty paper. Finishing it off with hearts, florals, and butterflies that are fussy cut from the patterned papers in Happy Days for whimsy and fun!
The little dots of Nuvo and puffy stickers that I added on at the end really help this layout pop! I love how much the tiny details can make such a bit difference. These butterfly trails give the columns a softer look overall.
I hope this layout inspires you to dive into your cut-apart sheets and have a play with the column design! If you’d like to see how this layout came together, check out the process video below:
Welcome to the Cocoa Vanilla Blog today. It’s Josefine here with a new scrapbook layout. For this layout, I used the fantastic and colorful “Happy Days” collection. I chose to highlight the gold frames today. The beautiful gold frames perfectly match the colors of the patterned paper.
I started by cutting out various gold frames and then selected different patterned papers and placed them behind the different frames. The vibrant colors of the paper create a beautiful contrast with the frames and the white background. I arranged the frames in a grid pattern on my layout and used 3D foam for a lifting effect.
There are plenty of beautiful embellishments that I can use in this gorgeous collection. I picked out various die-cut shapes, flower die-cuts, and word stickers to create small clusters on top of the gold frames. I specifically used a black and white photo to make the colors of this amazing collection stand out even more. The black and white frame from the die-cut ephemera highlights the photo beautifully.
I placed the title at the bottom of the layout, called “Good Times.” This amazing cardstock alphabet set fits perfectly. I accentuated the small word stickers with a thin black line to give them a little extra attention in the overall design. If you like, you can also give this alphabet set different colors yourself using ink, paint, or markers. You can let your creativity run wild and have fun.
I hope I have inspired you with this scrapbook layout and I hope to see you again on the blog next time. Wishing you a creative day!
Hello Hello, It’s Michelle back here today with a new layout share for you all using the HappyDaysCollection. I went bold with my pattern paper choice for the background of this one and let the rainbow paint strokes of the SunshineLollipops paper shine.
I chose a large cut file design from the CUT to YOU store to use as part of the background design, and it almost became part of the title for the layout. I’ve documented a happy family snap from my birthday a few weeks back, but as it was a ‘quiet’ dinner with family I didn’t think YAY YAY HAPPY WOO TIME was the best option to use, although it does sound quite funny.
I adhered the cutfile to the background using foam tape, giving the design a slight 3d effect.
I printed the photo in black and white so that there was no colour clashing with the background paper and used the frame from the ephemerapack to use as a layering element for this stack. I added fussy cut florals from the A5paperstack in colour blocked groups according to the direction of colours on the background paper
In the top right corner I added a cluster of ephemera pieces and fussycutflorals from the LUSHBLOOMS paper that blended with the top of the background paper
And then created a second cluster in the bottom left with more ephemera, florals and fussy cut pieces. I added the title ‘My Birthday’ to the journal card using the minipuffyalphas from this collection. So cute and colourful, and so many options for mini titles.
Heres another look at the entire layout, including my usual sprinkling of gold ink to finish it all off. I’m really happy with how colourful this layout turned out, it came together quite quickly which is the best way to create a layout. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of using this collection. It’s bright happy colours and patterns are the absolute best!
Well thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to keep sharing all your amazing creations with us in the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Community Group on Facebook, we love to see what you all make!
Hello again everyone! This is Niki (@nikiclairecreates) and I’m so excited to be back sharing my third layout as a Guest Designer today using Happy Days!
For this layout I wanted to feature the Specialty paper which consists of beautiful foiled gold frames on white card. Inside all the frames are also gold foiled icons – all TOTALLY perfect for fussy cutting! I cut out a few of the frames and cut the middles out too. I then added two of the tiny journaling cards from the A5 Paper Stack inside the frames. They were the perfect size. They needed mounting onto a piece of scrap card first so that the frame had something to stick to (as they were exactly perfect for the apertures). I raised he frames on foam pads. The two cards I chose were the two rainbow ones – these look gorgeous inside the gold foiled frames.
I chose to use the yellow check side of the Feel Good paper for my background. I trimmed this down a bit, distressed the edges and added it to a sheet of white card. I then arranged my frames and my photo onto the yellow background.
I embellished the frames with Floral Ephemera and with the gold foiled icons fussy cut from within the frames – these are amazing as extra embellishments! I added some other little bits of Die Cut Ephemera to my clusters and added some small Puffy Heart Stickers too.
I added a title using ‘my sunshine’ from the Chipboard Title Stickers – I love this font! And the white letters stood out beautifully against my yellow background.
I finished off by handwriting my journaling and splattering my embellishment clusters with white paint! Here is the link to the process video I made for this layout: https://youtu.be/sb-V5KniUa8
I hope you have enjoyed seeing this layout, I loved making it!
It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new scrapbook layout featuring the gorgeous Happy Days collection!
For this assignment I was tasked with creating a project inspired by the July 2023 mood board.
July 2023 Mood Board
I was inspired by the colours in the mood board, the postage stamps and the windmill. I chose to add the pinwheel from the Happy Days collection to replicate the windmill from the mood board and also the postage stamps that look similar to the small pictures in the bottom centre photo in the mood board. I chose the ‘B’ side of the Juicy Fruit paperas the background paper to work on.
I picked 3 photos from a recent trip to Ayers Rock and printed them in a filmstrip style, I was inspired to this from the Japanese temple photo in the top left corner of the mood board. I adhered the photos using craft foam to create some dimension, I layered some of the papers from the A5 paper stack under the photo to add some interest and colour.
On the left of the photo strip, I placed the Amazing prize winner die-cutand on the right hand side I adhered the postage stamp die-cuts. Above the postage stamps I adhered the pinwheel die-cut and placed a puffy enamel dot in the centre of the pinwheel. I added a few phrase stickers from the Accessory sticker sheet around the photo to help tell the story of the photos. On the left of the photos I placed a yellow puffy heart and some more enamel shapes.
My title was made up of the chipboard alphabet words, I placed one word above the photos and the other one below the photos. I added a few more small embellishments like die-cut hearts, enamel shapes and accessory stickers to finish the layout and lastly I stamped the date stamp using black ink.
I love this photo, its not a visually stunning photo, no amazing scenery or backdrop but it is me with all my children after having a great day today. I have used the Happy Days collection!
I decided to go with a white background as I knew I was going to used Flutterby paper which is a dark contrast. I cut a seven inch circle in the Flutterby paper. I then cut three hearts in three different sizes and lastly a double bow.
I then used the butterfly side of Flutterby and Little Blossom paper to create the top and bottom paper angled design.
I created an embellishment cluster in the bottom paper pieces using die cuts from the ephemera pack. As you can see I tucked them in and under.
I machine stitched the hearts down the middle to create a 3D heart. I next added my photo which I double matted and used the chipboard title stickers to create my title. I followed the flow of the circle paper and left enough space in between to add chipboard hearts.
I added small floral cluster using the floral die cuts and finished this area off with a phrase sentiment from the accessory sticker sheet.
Lastly I added my paper bow (I used a cut file from the Silhouette Design store) and added a puffy heart to the centre.
This is a great design for multi photos if you wanted and you get to use many pattern pieces on one layout. My photo is double matted on paper from the A5 paper pad, which means you do not have to cut into 12×12 papers!
Thank you for stopping by and I hope this layout has inspired you in some way!
It’s Sophie on the blog today with a brand new page created with the Happy Days collection!
I wanted to use the HAPPY DAYS RAINBOW BRIGHT paper for a long time…! I cut the rainbow to remove the yellow, orange and pink rays. I placed the rainbow on a thick white cardstock and added a little bit of watercolour paint on its bottom, extending the same color for each ray. I also hand stitched and machine stitched on each ray of the rainbow with matching thread.
I framed my black and white photo in a die cut from the Ephemera pack, and used another frame for my journaling.
I used the HAPPY DAYS CHIPBOARD TITLE STICKERS for my title, on which I added a subtile touch of color on each letter.
I decorated around the framed photo with beautiful flowers from the HAPPY DAYS FLORAL EPHEMERA pack, in a color block manner. I placed a few other die cuts, 3 clouds, some stickers from the HAPPY DAYS STICKER SHEET and stamped the date.
Here are more close-ups:
I ADORE that color scheme !! This Happy Days collection is so versatile !
I hope you found some inspiration with my page and this lovely collection today!
