Unforgettable You | Unforgettable Collection | Rachel Lowe

Hi all today I have a layout featuring the new and stunning UNFORGETTABLE collection. It is just too stunning for words!

I started with a cut file from The Cut Shoppe, loving this heart cut file as it meant I could add several papers from the collection. I used the beautiful Glorious paper to paper piece the left side of the heart. I chose two paper to paper piece the right side of the heart, Garland and Unscripted.

I used the left over floral bunch on the reverse of the Garland paper, fussy cutting to use on my layout. I cut down my white cardstock to 10×10 inches and centred it onto the Sprightly paper. I added my photo slightly off centre matting on the Sprightly paper adding with foam tape. I added a tab to the top of my photo and the So Beautiful sentiment from the die cut ephemera pack and finishing off adding a enamel dot next to the sentiment sticker.

I then added the fussy cut floral bunch to the right of my photo and adding the water colour brush stroke from the clear sticker sheet. For a girl who find mixed media a bit to messy lol, these clear stickers are fab for creating a mixed media feel without the mess!

I added some of the gorgeous die cut ephemera butterflies to the left side of the heart in a way they appear to be flying up and away.

Lastly I created a small embellishment cluster at the bottom of my page, again adding another paint splotch clear stickers and adding the die cut camera over it, adding also an enamel dot to the lens of the camera and finished off with a sentiment phrase from the accessory stickers.

I added a splatter of black paint lightly over my page to break the contrast of the white. I so love the pretty and girly feel of this layout that really highlight the photo of my daughter.  I adore the colour hues of this collection, pink and turquoise swoon!

And before I go I just wanted to share a gift bag I created using Unforgettable and turquoise cardstock, finished off with a super cute tassel from the collection!

Living the Dream | Unforgettable Collection | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone! It’s Sue Plumb here to share my latest layout featuring the gorgeous ‘Unforgettable’ collection. For this page I wanted to document some sweet photos of my hubby and our cat that were taken when he was just a kitten. (And yes, I think a pop of purple is perfectly acceptable for a masculine page!)

Starting with a white cardstock background, the first paper I was drawn to was the gorgeous wood grain print of the Natural Beauty paper. I am a huge fan of wood grain papers, and I have to say, I think this one is my favourite so far! The tones, the pattern of the grain – it’s just perfect. I cut a large piece and placed it vertically on the left side of my page.

I overlaid the wood grain print with a piece of the minty green watercolour print paper from the 6×8″ Paper Stack (in the 12×12″ papers this is the reverse print of the Garland paper). I used a notebook style paper punch to punch the edge of it for extra interest.

Then it was time to add some horizontal structure to my page. I used an extra piece of the same mint paper again; along with a piece of the black & white leafy print from the reverse side of the Natural Beauty paper; the grey stripe from the reverse of the Glorious paper; and the mint diagonal stripe from the Sprightly paper.

I decided to frame each of my photos using frames from the Die Cut Ephemera pack – one a gorgeous polaroid style wood grain and the other a black and white wreath. I positioned each of them over the patterned papers layers, using some cardboard behind them to pop them up from the page.

Now it was time to add some fun embellishments to bring all the elements of my page together.

I started with the Foam Title Stickers, choosing the word hello and adding it alongside my top photo. I then reached for the Die Cut Ephemera pack again – choosing the Living the Dream phrase piece to go alongside the lower photo. Between the two, I added the purple ticket from the ephemera pack.

I then took another frame from the ephemera pack, this time a sweet circular frame with a doodled heart border. I cut it into two pieces, tucking the larger piece around the corner of my top photo, and the second smaller piece in behind the hello sticker. I also added a label for my journalling that was fussy cut from the Story Teller paper.

After writing my journalling on the label, I added the super cute retro style camera and a small heart (both from the ephemera pack) to create a small cluster. Then, to balance it out, I added a small strip of the reverse side of the Natural Beauty paper at the top of my page, and the true story sticker from the Accessory Sticker sheet over the top.

Almost done – time for a few finishing touches! I added two small hearts from the Clear Sticker sheet; the purple butterfly from the Die Cut Ephemera pack; and the Life is Good sticker from the Accessory Sticker sheet.

I then stamped the oh happy life phrase using a stamp from my stash and added a few tiny splatters of berry ink.

Bloom | Unforgettable Collection | Tarrah McLean

It’s Tarrah McLean back with you with my second layout using the stunning NEW Unforgettable collection!

The florals in this collection are just amazing and so beautiful…….they were itching to get onto a page! I decided a photo of my beautiful nieces was the perfect photo to document them dressed in pink together!

I decided on a horizontal design both at the top and bottom of the page, I added the gorgeous small floral paper to the top of the page and also layered the teal diagonal stripe paper under the  floral paper. At the bottom I added some of the gorgeous die-cut flowers and arranged them in a cluster. I also added the gorgeous ‘Smile’ flair button over the top of the flowers. I added the foam title word just above the floral cluster and also added one of the butterfly die-cuts.

Underneath my photo I added some of the floral die-cuts and also some of the clear stickers too. The butterfly die-cuts are just gorgeous and I added another one to the right of the photo as well as another of the gorgeous flair buttons. I added some of the accessory stickers to both the top of the photo and the bottom of the photo. These phrases are the perfect small addition embellishment.

I absolutely LOVE the addition of the enamel dots again in this collection so I added a few of them around the page in different sizes and colours. Whenever I get a new collection to work with from Cocoa Vanilla, I always try to include at least one of everything on the page!

Throwback Thursday with a Retro Hip Twist | More Than Words | Amanda Baldwin

Hi Friends!

Amanda here for more Cocoa Vanilla Studio inspiration! Today I am sharing a slightly different take on the Throwback Thursday post!

That’s right folks! I have been getting my ‘retro’ on and created a Cocoa Vanilla Studio: MORE THAN WORDS delight for Issue 8 of Retro Hip Magazine! Yay!!!

Normally you have to purchase the magazine to see the full projects, but as a special treat for all of you, I have the editor’s permission to share this wonderful layout,

“Sweet Thing”

Oh my heart!

Isn’t this stunning?!! Throwback Thursday never looked so fresh & new! Such an exquisite page!

This layout was created for a special feature on how to make white space work for your designs. I just LOVE using white space to draw attention to my photos, and maximize overall design interest. I used one of my all time favorite Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections; MORE THAN WORDS, some light mixed media and a whole lotta fussy cutting to create this lovely layout. In the meantime, here’s how I made this beautiful layout….

I started with 12 x 12″ white cardstock which I trimmed to 12 x 11 1/2″. Next, I machine stitched a half inch strip of pattern paper, CV-MT001 PRECIOUS onto the right hand side of the layout. I used the packaging technique with a pretty peach paint, and added a few splatters too! While this dried, I began fussy cutting butterflies from pattern papers, CV-MT003 GOSSAMER, CV-MT004 COLLAGE, & CV-MT006 TREASURE. I also fussy cut the sweet thing wreath from the TREASURE paper too. I then arranged the butterflies, with my sweet photo onto the peach watercolor base.

Here’s a closer look….

I tucked in a few DIE CUT EPHEMERA blooms into the photo cluster, and added a DIE CUT sentiment banner onto my photograph too. SO pretty!!!

Next I added that fussy cut sweet thing wreath, and a CHIPBOARD STICKER butterfly….

So many pretty details!

You’ll notice that I used a few pretty sequins from my stash (including those butterflies!), as well as a good sprinkling of the MORE THAN WORDS ENAMEL SHAPES. 

For the finishing touch, I fussy cut the sweet heart sentiment from pattern paper, CV-MT006 TREASURE, and layered it over one of the butterflies with foam tape. I just love how effective this looks!

Such a pretty page for my sweet girl!

And there you have it!

BLOOM | UNFORGETTABLE | GWEN WRUCK

Hi Creative Friends,

Gwen on the blog today – Happy Wednesday to you all.  I’m so excited to be back with another Cocoa Vanilla Studio share.  I’ve had some more time to play with the new ‘Unforgettable’ collection which I am absolutely loving!  I was looking through my pages recently and noticed that I hadn’t done one of myself in a while.  I can’t say I love scrapbooking about ‘me’ but I know how important it is, so pushed through the self-consciousness and got to creating.

The inspiration for the page came from all the pretty florals in the collection and the word from the Foam Titles ‘Bloom’.  I wanted to document some changes that have been happening personally for me over the past year or so and love this sentiment.  We should always be growing and developing and I thought this would be a nice page to represent that.  (I’ve put a lot of journaling on the back of this one!)

With so many pretty pattern papers in the collection, I wasn’t sure where to start so I pulled out the ‘Pretty Bits’ paper and trimmed it so that I would have some colour blocks of the patterns.  When in doubt as to which pattern to use, I went with using them all!!  I’ve positioned the strips on the left and right sides of my page.

 

Next, I’ve taken another strip, wider this time, from the same pattern paper and added that to create a wider block of colour.  I’ve also now added some machine stitching down the edges for added detail.  Now it was time to mat my photo.  For this, I’ve gone with the ‘Garland’ paper.  I can’t believe I chopped into that wreath on the other side of this paper, thank goodness the Collection pack has two sheets of each design!

I’ve added more stitching around my photo, I just love how it sets it off.  Now it was time to play with the elements from the Ephemera Pack.  To start, I pulled out the black and white wreath element.  I’ve cut that in half to stretch it out over my page.  One half went above my photo, the other on the right as the base of my element cluster.

I’ve gone through the pack adding elements running from the top left of the page, down the centre line to the bottom right-hand corner.  I find this helps draw the eye around the page.  I’ve also added in the title at this point, above my photo and across the wide blocks of colour from the pattern paper.  I just the pop of black in this collection, so striking!

I’ve also added in a flair button as well as a cute bow.  I love the dimension these elements add to the page AND you all know how much I love a bow!

Sisters | Unforgettable Collection | Anita Bownds

Hi there crafty friends, Anita here with you today sharing a layout using the new beautiful Unforgettable collection!! ..I was so excited to play with this collection … so for my layout I wanted to scrap this photo of my 2 daughters happy together taking selfie’s .. I also wanted to create a 12×12 layout using the 6×8 paper pad to show you that it can easily be done
I started with white cardstock and using my silhouette cameo to cut out a few cut files created by Paige Evans I started with the quilt heart I cut it out in the centre of the white cardstock then I cut out the world Sisters and backed both cut files with pattern papers from the unforgettable 6×8 paper pad
I then matted my photo on papers from the 6×8 paper pad using 3 different patterns and a bit of vellum in the layers then using some double sided foam tape I added it to the back of the photo and to the back of the word cut file to add more dimension so it would pop off the background
Next using the unforgettable ephemera I started adding lots of flowers around the photo and the word cut file
To add more colour as I chose a more muted colours from the pattern papers

At the top and bottom of my white cardstock I decided I needed a little more colour I so I tore a little bit away and backed it with floral pattern paper from the 6×8 and clusters of flowers from the ephemera
And to finish off my layout with a few enamel dots and clear stickers

Captured | Unforgettable | Mandy Melville

Hello everyone!

Mandy here with you today, and I’m super excited to be sharing my first layout using the brand new Unforgettable collection! I’m totally loving everything about this new collection, especially those gorgeous colours and the stunning florals! I decided to scrapbook some candid photos of my youngest daughter Eleanor on this layout. I just love the way they capture her joyful and carefree personality, and I think this collection was perfect for documenting this happy memory.

I started my layout off by trimming about half an inch off the top and bottom edges of my white cardstock background, and I then tucked a strip of the Pretty Bits patterned paper under each of those edges. Next I chose four papers from the 6×8 Paper Stack and I layered them together to create a matt for my photos to sit on. I didn’t add adhesive all the way to the edges of the patterned papers as I wanted to give the layout some more interest by lifting the corners of the papers up a little.

I also used a couple of the patterned papers from the 6×8 Paper Stack to matt my photos with. I adhered the bottom photo using craft foam to give it some extra dimension.

There are so many gorgeous pieces in the die cut ephemera pack, and I used a few of these to create an embellishment cluster to the right of the top photo. How pretty are those florals?! You can also see here that I added a flair button to the cluster as well.

To balance out the first cluster, I created another one to the left of the bottom photo. This gives the layout a diagonal flow, drawing the viewer’s eye from the bottom left to the top right. This second cluster includes some more die cut ephemera pieces as well as a sticker from the accessory sticker sheet.

I LOVE the new Foam Title Stickers in this collection, and I couldn’t resist using one of the foam words as the title for my layout. It’s a quick and easy way to add a gorgeous eye-catching title to a page!

I finished the layout off with a sprinkling of enamel dots as well as a few little word stickers.

I love how this page turned out, and I can’t wait to create some more projects using this stunning collection!

Bloom & Grow | Unforgettable | Amanda Baldwin

Hi Cocoa Vanilla Studio Friends!

Amanda here, & I am beyond excited to be sharing my very first creation with our stunning new UNFORGETTABLE collection!

There are so many gorgeous papers and endless possibilities with this collection, and I wanted to showcase a few of them!

Here’s what I created,

“Bloom & Grow” 

 

Oh wow! Isn’t this just divine?!!

When I first saw the UNFORGETTABLE collection, I was immediately struck by the cleverness of Zoe Pearn – a floral collection that reflected both Spring & Fall! Florals and blooms to suit both hemispheres – sheer brilliance! I was also impressed by the whimsical & somewhat bohemian feel that UNFORGETTABLE evoked!

With Fall as my favorite season, I just had to create an Autumnal page for my sweet girl! Here’s a closer look for you….

Gosh it’s so pretty!!!

For that warm & outdoorsy feel, I used the lovely CV-UF008 NATURAL BEAUTY woodgrain pattern paper as my layout base. Next I added the two large concentric hearts to the center of the page. The larger heart is a beautiful vermilion floral pattern paper from the reverse side of CV-UF005 LACEWING. Did I mention it had my heart swooning?! Such a rich and elegant pattern design – LOVE!!! The smaller heart is cut from simple white cardstock. With a ‘clean’ white base, attention is drawn immediately to my photograph – perfect!

I positioned my darling daughter’s picture onto a base of 3 x 4 note cards which I cut from pattern paper, CV-UF004 PRETTY BITS, and then glued the layers to the center of the page. For the embellishments tucked in and around my photo, I started with 3 larger fussy cut butterflies. These were also cut from the CV-UF004 LOVELY BITS paper (& yes, I used two sheets of this paper so that I could keep to my color scheme). Next I added that fabulous FLAIR BUTTON love this, & the two DIE CUT EPHEMERA pieces. And lastly, the CLEAR STICKER leaves tucked under the layers, and that super sweet butterfly to the bottom of the cluster. That smaller butterfly, and the others that you spy on my page, were all fussy cut from pattern paper CV-005 LACEWING – that paper may be my number one pick from this collection! SO incredibly beautiful!

Simply stunning!

As you travel around the layout, you’ll notice all the LACEWING fussy cut butterflies either tucked in or on the hearts. I include DIE CUT EPHEMERA blooms, foliage & even an arrow or two for added interest. CLEAR STICKERS also adorn the embellishment clusters and enhance the heart design.

The new FOAM TITLE STICKERS were the perfect go-to option for my layout title. The swirly font is super pretty, and the black foam is really striking on the woodgrain paper. I am also impressed with how easily they were to remove from the packaging, and to apply to my project. A new favorite product to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio range!

I arranged the ‘grow’ part of my title at the base of my layout, and adorned it with a couple of leafy fronds from the DIE CUT EPHEMERA pack…

Those FOAM TITLE STICKERS are really somethin’!

So many beautiful papers and embellishments!

For a finished look, I scattered a few white ENAMEL DOTS throughout the design.

Love You | Unforgettable Collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi Cocoa Vanilla friends,

It’s Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am excited to be sharing my first layout with you using the stunning Unforgettable collection! I am documenting a beautiful photo of my sister and her husband from their wedding day and this collection just oozes lovely things like weddings!I decided to cut a strip of the stripe side of the ‘Sprightly’ paper and placed it vertically down a plain white cardstock background. I then trimmed the white cardstock down so that I could use the pink side of the ‘Unscripted’ paper as a border. I added some machine stitching down each side of the vertical strip. I added some layers under my photo including the floral paper from the ‘Pretty Bits’ paper and one of the die-cut frames, I popped these all up using craft foam.    I tucked in one of the tab stickers both at the top and bottom of my photo from the Accessory sticker sheet. As you can see in the detail photo above, I used some of the gorgeous new foam words as my title! They are gorgeous and aren’t too sticky, perfect if you aren’t sure of placement, they are easily repositionable which is very handy for me! I also added one of the gorgeous bows and a few other embellishments finish off this side of the layout.On the left hand side, I added one of the cute banner stickers and tucked in some of the gorgeous floral die-cuts. I also layered one of the flair buttons to the top of one of the florals. A few other small embellishments like the clear stickers and enamel dots finish off this side. One thing I wanted to point out in the floral die-cuts is that gorgeous texture you can see in the detail photo below. I just love that not only are there beautiful colours in this collection but the texture is awesome too.

So Loved | More Than Words Collection | Rachel Lowe

Hi CVS friends today I am stash busting whilst I wait for the stunning new collection Unforgettable! I have used mainly More Than Words collection to create this layout of my oldest and youngest sharing a sweet moment.

 

This gorgeous cut file So Loved is from Cut to You. I sized it to fill most of my page choosing the ombre blue paper Wild & Free  which is actually from the Bohemian Dream  collection as my base paper which I also added some splatters of white paint before adding the cut file.

I used the Darling Buds paper, floral side to paper piece the letters. As you will see some letters I used foam tape to adhere some of the letters to add dimension and height variation on the layout.

I added my photo with foam tape which I framed with a die cut ephemera frame and finished off with a die cut banner and butterfly. I also added a another black frame to ensure it provided a contrast which would draw the eye to it.

I have used Boho Bits paper (again from Bohemian Dream collection) to paper piece the hearts of the cut file and again all added with foam tape. And for the bit I like best, choosing gorgeous die cuts to embellish my layout! I have tucked under the foam taped letters small floral die cuts, die cut word sentiments over the words to create a form of journalling and lastly adding some pretty die cut butterflies.
