Kellie hails from the gorgeous Tweed Coast in Northern New South Wales, where she lives with her husband and three boys. She has been scrapbooking for around 15 years and says it is her therapy and time out from the crazy times we live in. Kellie says her style is varied, but she loves layers, texture and every now and then a bit of mixed media. Her greatest love is patterned paper though, so you are sure to see plenty of that feature in her creations!

Fun Times | Great Escape | Kel Moore

Hey CVS fans, it’s Kel back today sharing another layout using the new ‘The Great Escape’ collection. Im documenting some photos from a holiday in Fiji when I went parasailing with my family…lots of fun! Here is my page..

I started my design with layering up papers on the horizontal…papers I used were Horizon, Direction and Happy Camper. I wanted to then add a vertical element to my page so I cut one of the strips from the Wild Life paper along with the scallop design.. I love this fun piece!

I placed my photos along the horizontal, using a frame from the Ephemera die cuts to highlight my middle photo.

To the right of my photos I added some of the stars cut from the Star Gazing paper, along with some of the Chipboard Stickers. I also cut some of the word pieces and flag from the Wild Life paper.

I decided I wanted some more colour on my white cardstock so I used some ink to add some clouds. For my title I used the Puffy Title Stickers then cut some of the word strips from the Wild Life paper.

I added some of the stars from the collection around my title…

Happy Days | Happy Days Collection | Kel Moore

Hi Everyone, it’s Kel back today to share my next creation with you. I hope you all had a nice relaxing Easter break!

For today’s page, I pulled out one of my favourite collections, Happy Days….I just love the colour palette and icons in this collection. Im documenting a picture of my youngest boy in the swimming pool…here is my page..

I started by using a sunburst stencil with yellow distress oxide, creating a feature on the left side of my page, placing my photo towards the right so the sunburst comes out from behind my photo.

I cut my white cardstock down to 11 inches square and used some black cardstock to create a scalloped border around the edges, then mounted it onto the gorgeous rainbow stripe paper called Sunshine Lollipops.

I mounted my photo multiple times with papers from the A5 paper stack and popped it up on foam tape.

For the embellishments I used a range of different products from the Accessory Sticker Sheet, the Die Cut Ephemera, the cut apart sheets, layering them from the top of the page to the bottom.

For  my title I used the word ‘Happy’ from the Die Cut pack and the word ‘Days’ from the Chipboard Title Stickers, then I added some of the chipboard stars also from the Chipboard Title Stickers.

Great Outdoors | The Great Escape | Kel Moore

Hello everybody, welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla blog, it’s Kel here today to share my latest creation using the new ‘The Great Escape’ collection. Here it is…

To start my page I decided I wanted to use the yellow paper called ‘Horizon’ to make a sun feature on my background. I cut the paper into strips at an even level to create the rays. Before I stuck them down I added some yellow ink behind the rays to add some depth and interest. After I stuck them down, I added some hand stitching.

I placed my 2 photos in the middle of the page, matting them on papers from the A5 paper stack as well as some black card stock to help them pop. Once they were down, I made some trees.. the trunks from a wood paper from ‘No Limits’ and the green paper called ‘Journey.‘ One tree to the left of the photos and one on the right to create balance.

Next, I cut some clouds from the ‘Starry Night’ paper and added them to the top left of my page. Above the left photo I added a tab and word sticker from the Accessory Sticker Sheet.

Above the right photo I added a frame and wood piece from the die cut ephemera pack. Then to the right of the photo I added a flag and some stars.

For my title I used the words ‘Great Outdoors’ from the Puffy Title Stickers. I popped them onto white card stock to help them stand out. Underneath I used some phrases which I cut from the cut apart paper called Wild Life.

I finished my page adding some more stars cut from the Star Gazing paper and some of the Puffy Star Stickers.

Fun Times Ahead | Scraplift Challenge | Kel Moore

Hi Cocoa Vanilla friends and welcome back to the blog.

It’s Kel here today and I am sharing my take on the Scrap Lift challenge that is running this month. Have you had a chance to enter the comp? There are 3 different pages to choose from…or you could lift all 3! I decided to scrap lift this layout from design team member Michelle Stokes….

For my page, I am using the brand new The Great Escape collection..here is my page..

 

I changed the design by not using squares, instead using elongated hexagons. I mounted a smaller hexagon on top and added hand stitching to give them texture.

I have used 2 photos like Michelle, applying them slightly offset, and mounted them onto black cardstock to help them pop off the page, then embellished on a diagonal through the photos.

To the top left of the page I have used a piece from the die cut ephemera with a hand cut star and a black star that I cut from cardstock, to add a pop of black to the top of the page..

Next I used a sticker above my photo from the Accessory Sticker Sheet and a chipboard banner from the Chipboard Stickers which I added onto my photo. Under the photo I used a label from the A5 paper stack to add my place and date.

To the bottom right of my photos is where I added my title. I used the Chipboard Stickers for “Fun Times Ahead’.. I love how they pop off the page… and of course I had to add some of the signature Cocoa Vanilla stars that Zoe adds to her more masculine collections..

Under the title I used some of the phrases from the Accessory Sticker Sheet. I always find these easy to use..

Adventure Awaits | The Great Escape | Kel Moore

Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends and welcome back to the blog.

It’s Kel here today and Im so excited to be sharing my first page with the brand new The Great Escape collection.

There is so much to love with this new line…..the colours, the versatility of what it can be used for, the icons, the chipboard… I could go on and on!

I decided to scrapbook this photo of my son on his way to his first school camp…here it is..

After looking through the collection and seeing the trees, mountains etc, I decided I wanted to create a scene of a ‘camp,’ so I cut a log cabin on my silhouette and made it the main element on my page..

I really wanted to use a brown woodgrain for my cabin so I used a paper from the Boys Rule collection, along with papers from The Great Outdoors A5 paper stack then added some hand stitching to create texture.

I decided I needed a paper to ground my cabin so I used the paper called ‘Horizon’ to cut apart the blue mountain tops, distressing the edges then putting them back together.

Next, I layered up my photo with papers from both the A5 paper stack and the orange paper called Happy Camper. I cut a small banner from the Wild Life paper and added it to the top left of my photo and used a sticker from the Accessory Sticker Sheet to pop out from the right side of my photo.

Under my photo I added a compass from the Ephemera Pack and a label for my date.

I then made a road leading from the cabin up to the top of my page using more of the tree die cuts from the Ephemera pack, along with the mountains and the ‘Fun Times’ sign.

For the title I used the word ‘Adventure ‘ from the Chipboard Stickers, popping a lantern from underneath it…I like how that looks! I anchored the title to the page using the ‘Horizon’ and ‘Journey’ papers.

I finished off my page with some of the stars from both the Chipboard Stickers and the Puffy Star Stickers.

So Awesome | No Limits | Kel Moore

Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends and welcome to 2024!!!!

It’s Kel here today sharing my first layout of the year and I thought I would go with creating a favourite of mine….a BOY page using the ‘No Limits’ collection.

Im documenting some pics of my youngest boy in one of his MANY soccer outfits… here is my page..

I decided I wanted to start with some mixed media, so I pulled out of my watercolours and used blue and green to make a fun messy background.

I have 3 photos printed at 3×4 and decided I wanted to go with a horizontal design. I used a mix of the Pocket Cards and some of the frames from the Ephemera Pack to layer up my photos.

Next I made my own tags with some of the patterned papers , adding twine to them to add more texture to my page.

I decided I needed some paper underneath my photos to ground them to the page, so I used the ‘Stardust’ and ‘Universal’ papers to do that.

For my title I used the ‘Die Cut Titles’…they add such a punch to any page. I also used some of the word strips from the Accessory Sticker Sheet.

Now onto the embellishing!

Around my pics I used mainly pieces from the Ephemera Pack and some of the Wood Epoxy Buttons. I incorporated these onto of my photos and some in the layers …. all of my pics are popped up using foam tape.

To finish my page I used some of the stars from the collection…some chipboard, some die cuts, and some from the Puffy Stickers.

Favourite layout for 2023 | Happy Days | Kellie Moore

Welcome back today friends, it’s Kel back today to share my final post for 2023…and to share my favourite creation from this year.

Going back through all of my pages, my top 3 pages were all from the Happy Days collection…the colours are just so beautiful ad vibrant but I had to choose just one…. and I think it is this one..

I think it’s the colour palette…yellow always makes a page bright and happy, and mixed with aqua and magenta, it’s a chefs kiss.

I love circles in my designs and the pops of black help highlight the colours…

I hope you have all enjoyed the inspiration the design team and I have provided in 2023 and are looking forward to seeing what 2024 brings!

Oh What Fun | Joyful Collection | Kellie Moore

Hi CVS fans, welcome back to the blog.

It’s Kel back with you today, sharing a Christmas page with the Joyful collection.

A few weeks ago we celebrated an early Christmas with some of our family and I captured these super cute pictures of my youngest son…. so fun! Here is my page..

I started my page with creating 2 large circles…one smaller than the other and stuck them down to the page. I added some stitching to the smaller circle before sticking it down.

I decided to go with a diagonal design, using one of the cut apart papers for my title which says ‘Oh what Fun’..

The animals in this collection are so cute! From the chipboard pieces I used a deer and a squirrel and a fox from the ephemera pack.

To my top photo I used a diecut from the ephemera pack and a sticker from the Accessory Sticker Sheet.

To the bottom photo I added a diecut to the top of my photo, a frame from the ephemera pack, then to the left I added two presents…one chipboard and one from the ephemera pack.

To finish my page I added some stars cut from a patterned paper and some tiny stars cut from gold glitter paper down to the diagonal of the page….love this finishing touch!

Fun Days | Happy Days Collection | Kellie Moore

Hi Everyone, welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla blog, it’s Kel here today to share a page using the Happy Days collection with you. I LOVE the bright colours of this collection, they make me so happy.

For todays layout I decided to pull out some watercolours and create my own background..here is my page…

I created a diamond type shape with the watercolour in a magenta colour found in the collection for the base of my photo and added some splatters in yellow.

For my photo I added some paper layers from the a5 paper stack as well as some black cardstock to help my photo pop. Next I created a cluster above my photo creating a tag, a frame from the Ephemera pack and a sticker from the Accessory Sticker sheet.

I felt that the cluster needed something else so I cut a sun out from the ‘Feel Good’ paper and added some hand stitched rays..

Before sticking my photo down I added some quaze to add texture to the layout..

I pulled out the Chipboard Titles for my page title and placed them directly under my photo.. and added a rainbow from the Ephemera pack underneath..

My finishing touches was to add some stamping around the page, I love the black contrast with the watercolour..

Celebrate Together | Heart and Home | Kellie Moore

Hey there Cocoa Vanilla friends it’s Kellie here and welcome back to the blog today .

I have a layout using the new Heart and Home collection to share today….the memory I am documenting is a photo of myself with my youngest son recently taken at a wedding where he was a page boy….isn’t he the sweetest?!

To start my page, I decided I wanted to create a background with a bunch of the papers from the A5 paper stack so I decided to cut a bunch of squares and lay them on an angle, leaving a strip white space down the page to allow the page to not become too busy. To add more texture I added some hand stitching around the squares.

I placed my photo towards the left side of the page so I could create a diagonal through my photo. I matted my photo in white as I already had so much pattern going on.

I wanted to keep the embellishing on the lighter side to not overpower the photo so I added some of the floral ephemera to the top left and bottom right of my photo, not sticking them flat to the page so they add dimension.

For my title I chose the word ‘Celebrate’ from the Titles with Gold Foil then added the word ‘Together’ using the Mini Puffy Alphabet. I also used a heart sticker from the Accessory Sticker Sheet above my title, along with some of the heart Puffy Stickers.
