MY PRIDE AND JOY | MERRY & BRIGHT COLLECTION | SOPHIE DELORME
Hello Cocoa Vanilla friends!
Sophie here and this week is a “Scraplift yourself” challenge week!
Let me tell you, this was fun!!!
I chose a previous layout of mine as a base for inspiring me for my actual page.
First: Here is my inspiration page. It’s a layout created with the beautiful DayDream collection a year and a half ago:
And here is what I came up to:
I love the rectangle over a 12×12 paper, the frames, and the big floral cluster around the photo, and these things were my starting point for my new page.
I used the Merry & Bright collection for my new layout.
I cut a rectangle on white cardstock, backed it with the Count Down patterned paper, stitched around it and placed it on the beautiful diagonal striped Jingle All The Way paper.
For my journaling, instead of handwriting it, I preferred to print it on velum paper, and placed the velum sheet on the white cardstock of the page.
I placed a wreath, another circular embellishment and frames under my black and white photo, which is on the left bottom part of the page, just like on my inspiration page.
I created a floral cluster on the bottom left corner of the photo, and another one on the top right side of the page, mimicking again the first layout.
I decided to stamp my title with alphabet stamps from my stash on white cardstock. I fussy cut each letter and added foam adhesive behind them before adhering them to the page.
Finally, I stamped the date on a sticker label, and added a few sequins from my stash as the finishing touch.
Here are a few more close-ups:
The basic design of the two layouts is the same, but I find that the end-result is completely different! That’s what I love about scraplifting. It gives you a starting point, but you always end-up with a completely different and fresh new page.
I hope this was inspiring for you!
Until next time,
Sophie xx
