Mirror, mirror on the wall | Storyteller Layout | Anna Komenda

Welcome Friends. It’s Anna here with another page made with stunning “Storyteller” collection. This line is so versatile and is just perfect for documenting everyday life in all of it’s shades and themes. Colors of this line will match boys, girls, pets, old and young, house and outdoor – you got it all covered. I wanted to document a fun photo of my furry stalker, who needs to put his noisy nose into everything I do. It’s a quality control on four paws. He is always there checking what I am doing and he wants to be up close to the events, even it it’s just my beauty routine. I was recently working on my eyebrows and the best light for this is in my scraproom. Filut was intrigued by all the new stuff that appeard on my desk, that isn’t usually there, especially the mirror. He jumped on my laps to make a good sniff and look on everything and I managed to snap few photos that look like he is admiring his reflection.

As he is a boy, I decided to use red and navy color combo with a bit of yellow. I started with white cardstock and used a dotty stencil and red ink to add soft, mixed media layer under the photo section. Next step was to arrange few paper strips from “Brighter days”, “Ditsy daisy” and “Little love” papers. I added some decorative edge with puncher first for more texture.

When it was all glued down, I added my photo with few layers of paper under it. I mied both 12*12 papers and A5 paper stack. This is such a great product as the patterns are a bit different than in big papers, which adds a whole variety of possibilities is you are a paper lover like me.

To be honest – in this stage my page was almost done. it really is that simple. All I had left is to add some embellishments here and there and a title. I reached for super cute tiny puffy alpha stickers from an older “These days” collection. They match “Storyteller” really well. This photo of my dog reminded me a short rhyme from a “Snowwhite” fairy tale: “Mirror, mirror on my wall, who’s the fairest of them all” and I wanted it to be my title. However, it’s quite a long phrase so I decided to add only a first part knowing that most of the people will know the ending of this sentence. Plus I was running out of letter in my alpha sheet…

Last step was adding embellishments to my page. I started by digging into an ephemera pack and choosing few that surrounded my photo. I also picked some hearts to add them here and there. I used up some hearts from cardboard stickers sheet too. Little wooden button was a cherry on top. For more yellow accents I splashed the finished project with mustard mist.

And that’s all folks! It really is simple page with a lot of white – the way I like my pages the most! Once again my journaling is on the back as I do not like to share my private thoughts with everyone. They are meant to remind ME the story, not everyone else browsing through my albums. And also I hate my handwritting.

Thank you so much for stopping by and see you in September. Summer is almost gone so it’s safe to start making fall pages :D
