Joy | Merry & Bright | Melissa Vining
Hello everyone!! It’s Melissa here, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas wherever you were in the world! I’m still loving documenting Christmas photos, and for my layout I used the stunning Merry & Bright Collection to scrap a very recent selfie of my youngest daughter Ava (age 4) and I as ballerinas in our church Christmas Show this year!!
I used a gorgeous wreath cut file from Anett Gelencser and backed the holly berries from the red flowers in ‘JOY TO THE WORLD‘ and the tree paper from the ‘A5 PAPER STACK‘.
I created my background by painting on gold shimmery mist, and then splattering gold and pink mist, and I love how it looks behind the wreath. The bow is backed with gold glitter paper from my stash, and the paper in the middle of the wreath is ‘STAR BRIGHT‘.
I embellished in three clusters and used flowers and elements from the ‘DIE CUT EPHEMERA’. I used glimmer paste on all of the flowers and berries for extra Christmas sparkle!
I added a ‘PUFFY STAR’ onto one of my clusters too, and I have to admit these are hard to use because I want to hoard them!
I used some older Thickers from my stash for my title, added my handwritten journalling, and then added some gold drops. I thought my layout was complete, but then I realised that I wanted to add a border to help anchor my design. I trimmed off the edges of the white cardstock, distressed the edges and adhered it onto ‘JINGLE ALL THE WAY‘. My final touch was to add machine stitching in white stitching around the edge for texture.
You can watch me create this layout in my process video below.

Ava loves this layout, especially as its just about her and I. I hope I’ve inspired you to continue documenting your Christmas memories with this beautiful collection!
Take care and see you back here next year!
