April “All Things Delightful” Monthly Challenge

Hi everyone,

It’s a brand new month again, so that means it’s time for a brand new challenge. Our April mood board has been designed for us by Rachel Lowe, and it is a stunner!

Before we share it, here are some details about how our challenges work:

Our challenges end on the last day of the month. They are revealed here on the blog as well as in our Facebook Community group. The challenge consists of a mood board that has been collated by a member of our design team and contains a variety of images. Simply use the images as inspiration for your project, then post a photo into the challenge album in our Facebook group. Your project can be a layout / set of cards or tags / traveller’s notebook spread / art journal page, etc – it’s entirely up to you. You do not have to use only Cocoa Vanilla Studio products, but they should be the main focus of your creation.

Here is Rachel’s board, entitled “All Things Delightful”…

Rachel’s board has been clearly inspired by Easter, as you can see from all those sweet bunnies and eggs. It also features a delicious colour palette of pastel shades. If Easter isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other elements you can take from this mood board to inspire your creation. You could choose to work with a Spring theme instead and focus on the beautiful flowers. If textures are what catches your eye, there is the beautiful macrame rainbow and the bunting made up of wooden beads, tassels and pompoms. Or the painted shutters might inspire you to create your own painted stripe background. So many possibilities!

Here is Rachel’s sample layout…

Rachel went digging through her stash and combined pieces from a number of different collections for this gorgeous page – how many can you spot?

Rachel was clearly inspired by the bunnies from the board, documenting a sweet sleepy photo that worked perfectly with the pastels.

It’s no secret that Rachel loves rainbows, and her pastel version on this page makes us swoon! She used patterned papers from a mix of collections and finished each arc with coordinating hand stitched detail. She also took the opportunity to use up some of left-over embellishments in her stash such as enamel dots, flair buttons and a ribbon bow by popping those onto some of the arcs too.

We particularly love the adorable little bunny that Rachel tucked in underneath her rainbow, complete with a bow tie and that little fluffy pompom tail!

And now that you’ve been inspired by Rachel, it’s over to you. We can’t wait to see how this one inspires you!
