Unforgettable You | Unforgettable Collection | Kylie Kingham
Hello lovely crafty friends! It’s Kylie back with you today with a fun new layout to share. It’s a new month which means there is a new mood board available in the Cocoa Vanilla Community FB group. Designed by DT member Gwen, it has a beautiful bright colour palette and fun Summery vibe. I decided to work with the ‘Unforgettable’ collection as I felt the colour theme suited the mood board perfectly. In case you haven’t seen the mood board as yet, here is a peep-
As a soft focal point of my layout I also used a custom cut file that was designed for the INSD festivities recently, (also found in the Cocoa Vanilla Communtiy Facebook group). There are many ways in which you can use cut files and the method I am sharing today shows how it can be used in the background of a page for texture. I have cut mine out on white cardstock and adhered it over a white background. Once in place I love how it almost looks like lace.
Usually I am not a fan of using coloured stitching as an accent on my white background layouts. I can’t even tell you all why….Just not my thing. But there are times where I feel it belongs, as I did with this layout. It framed the end result nicely and broke up the white background and cut file nicely.Once my cut file had been cut out I adhered it to the background using a spray on tacky glue. I find this a super easy method when adhering large pieces such as the background design. It is best to do this outside however so you don’t get glue overspray on everything including your floor! Some sections didn’t stick down flat and I was ok with that. I felt it was more effective to have some leaves and flowers sitting off the background.
One of the many things I love about Cocoa Vanilla is the die cut packs. Especially all the florals! My photo was printed to 3″x 4″ and added over the background with foam adhesive squares. From there I began adding lots of florals and leaves to form a neat cluster that balanced the photo.
For extra colour, I also added another floral cluster to the opposite corner to my photo. Some die cuts were adhered with foam adhesive squares to give dimension, this also gave a nice even balance to the completed page.
So you can see exactly how my layout came together I have also filmed a short process video:
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my latest page layout.
Kylie.
