My Sunshine | Daydream Collection | By Raquel Bowman

Hi everyone, it’s Raquel here with you today and I am sharing my latest layout featuring the gorgeous Daydream collection.

Here is the layout that I created:


The subject of this layout is my gorgeous girl – this was a picture I had taken of her over the summer holidays when we were on a vacation to a coastal town. She enjoyed every minute of being away together as a family, the daily walks, trips to the beach and playing board or card games in the evening. I feel like that happiness really radiates from her in this photo.

A key element of this layout is the heart floral cut file that I used from the Cut to You store. I cut the file on a patterned paper and chose a complimenting patterned paper to back the florals within the cut file design. I wanted to have a pop of colour on this layout and this was created using the yellow patterned papers and ephemera pieces.

The title was using the die cut words – as soon as I saw the words ‘my’ and ‘sunshine’ I knew it would make the perfect title for this page. I adhered the title to the page using a small foam square adhesive; just to give the title that small lift and pop. The journaling is a quote that I found and love that I have created in my usual way- typewritten and cut into strips.

The embellishments are placed in a more vertical pattern on the page – however the majority are in three main clusters  one to the top left, one to the middle near the title and one to the bottom right.

Some of the embellishments – the tiny flowers for example are fussy cut from patterned papers within the collection. This allows me to have more control over the colours I use and include on the page also as I can choose ones that fit within my desired colour palette.


I decided to add one of the gorgeous fabric hearts to this page. I thought the deep read colour was perfect.

Love This | Day Dream | Anita Bownds

 Hey lovely’s ! Anita here with you today sharing a sweet floral layout using the daydream collection and this months Mood board with all the sweet dreamy colours to choose from so I pulled out the Kraft cardstock to match the coffee and the rest of the colours from around the mood board and of cause I added a photo of my cute fluffy boy sleeping ..
So I started with  Kraft cardstock and a paw print stencil and used white ink and just used a blender to add the ink. Then I added some light pink paint by just quickly brushing across the cardstock trying not to put it on too thickly then I used a light blue to flick around the cardstock along with some white and rose gold..

 

Then I matted my photo on sweet serenity to layer behind then I tucked a few bits of ephemera , doily and a few accessory stickers around my photo and my chipboard title from (bohemian dream ) I think …..
I wanted to add the title before I started adding my title so everything would fit in place.

 

Then using happy place I add a strip down the left hand side then tucked a doily and little strip from sweet serenity that I punched a little decorative punch and a little piece from the ephemera.
Then I pulled out a few dies and used happy place, daisy days, sun shower , all a flutter to make a bunch of flowers big and small and a few leaves.

 

And to add more white in the background I die cut sprigs and tucked them in underneath and around the flowers and leaves ,
For the center’s I use enamel dots and buttons all in white to add that shabby look and just placed them diagonally across the page in 3 clusters to draw the eye across the page …

 

I finished the page off with some glitter gel painted on the flowers just to add some shimmer..

Hi lovely’s , Anita back with you today sharing a another floral layout using day dream collection .
full of fussy cut flowers and pretty paper layers ….seriously who doesn’t love some flowers all layered up.
I started off with white cardstock and then I cut 4 strips of sweet serenity about 1 x 12 and punched a border on 2 of the strips then I layered the punched strips over the other and added them to the top and bottom of the layout

 

Then I tucked a fussy cut flowers from the garden variety patterns paper and added some phrase stickers from the accessory stickers
Then I cut a big 4 1/2 inch strip and punched 2 sides and then cut 2 more inch strips to tuck underneath to make the border punched edges pop

 

Next I matted my photo on papers from the paper pad and tucking a doily and tab from the accessory stickers then I add a few other stickers around the photo then next I added more fussy cut flowers around the photo and tucking them at the top of the photo

 

Then to finish off the layout I added a cardstock title popping it up on double sided foam tape to add that cute dimension

LOVE YOUR SELFIE | DAYDREAM | GWEN WRUCK

Hi Creative friends, Gwen back on the blog today with a new share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio using the brand new ‘DayDream‘ collection. For today’s share, I’m working with this picture of me. Yes, I’m still on a bit of a mission to scrapbook more layouts featuring photos of myself. I tend to do a lot of my daughter so it’s been fun to create a couple recently of me.

The idea for the page definitely started with the photo for this one, and with it being black and white, I thought it might be fun to pop it onto a coloured background. I’ve gone with the grey and white spot pattern in the ‘Garden Variety‘ pattern paper. I’ve used both sides of this paper for my background, adding a frame around the edge of my layout using the floral side. I’ve added stitching in a pretty pink thread for an added detail.

Next up, I’ve backed my cut file. This one is from CUT to YOU and I’ve used more of the ‘Garden Variety‘ pattern paper to do this. I’ve also used ‘Sweet Serenity‘ and ‘All Aflutter‘ pattern papers as well.

I’ve used these same papers to mat my photo, opting for a double mat for this page.

For the embellishments, I’ve fussy cut elements from the ‘Happy Place‘ pattern paper including the sweet rainbows and cute tab elements. I’ve also used some fussy cut florals from the ‘Garden Variety‘ pattern paper. I’ve teamed these with pieces from the ‘Ephemera Pack‘ as well as a ‘Puffy Hearts‘ and ‘Flair Button‘.

To finish the page, I’ve fussy cut out three moths from the ‘All Aflutter‘ pattern paper and added to my page with foam tape.

Beautiful You | Day Dream and Merry and Bright | Anita Bownds

 Hi lovely’s  , Anita here with you today sharing a floral layout mixing 2 collections together day dream and merry and bright using a photo of our Luna sleeping on my chair in the craft room and I often find her asleep on my chair she likes the craft room as it’s quiet and a great place to just chill out..

You know me ..white cardstock first then I was thinking with this layout I wanted to add some mixed media
To the background so I used the plastic package technique and kissed light pink paint and peach watercolour to the background across the page and let it dry before adding a stenciled modelling paste across it

 

Then I flicked white watered down paint and did the same with rose gold to add a bit more colours in the background, I kept it light as I didn’t want the background to take away from the foreground I just wanted it to blend

 

Then I matted background on all aflutter and machine stitched around the boarder then I matted my photo on papers from day dream 6×8 and tucked in some stickers from the accessory stickers from day dream in the top of the photo layers and adhered my photo in the center of the layout..

 

Then I started cutting out my flowers using joy to the world pattern paper and for the leaves I used oh Christmas tree , count down and sun shower to make my clusters. Using a white pen I added so detail to the flowers and just bent them up a bit to add dimension and layered them with a enamel dots in the center’s to finish them off

 

And I bent up the leaves just to add more dimension to look more like flowers instead of them being flattened out
And then I clustered them on 2 sides of my photo and finish off the layout with a few ephemera butterflies from the day dream ephemera pack and a few drops of liquid pearls I rose gold.

Favorite Days | Day Dream | Anita Bownds

Anita here with you today sharing my first layout of the new year using day dream collection
My photo is of my kitty enjoying the morning sun in front of the window this was before we decided that all that fluff needed to be shaved off … and yep he wasn’t happy about losing his fluff!!
I started off by trimming a 12×12 by 5 inch strip from sweet serenity and machine stitching around the edges then I cut 2 more little strips 1 inch by 12×12 from sweet serenity then using daisy days I cut 2 more strips 12×12 by inch and then with all the little strips I punched a border on each of them

 

Then I matted my photo on papers from the 6×8 paper pad ( you can substitute the 6×8 for the 12×12 using all aflutter and sun shower ) I then tucked a the circle ephemera piece behind the photo that I fussy cut around the edges.
Using garden variety pattern paper I fussy cut out a bunch of flowers and started adding flowers around the bottom of my photo along with flowers from the ephemera pack that I fussy cut around to match the rest of the fussy cut flowers

 

I added ephemera around my photo and more clusters of flowers around the photo and to the right side of the layout I also added some other bits from the ephemera, butterflies and my title then finished off with hearts around the flower clusters and enamel dots in the center’s of the fussy cut flowers..

Sweet Heart | Daydream Collection | Melissa Vining

Hi everyone, its Melissa and I’m back with you today to share another layout that I made with the gorgeous ‘DAYDREAM’ collection.  I’m nearly ready to start creating Christmas layouts, but first I wanted to create a layout with the signature paper from this range called ‘OVER THE RAINBOW’, and I’m sure you’ll know which paper I’m talking about because it has the woodgrain on the A side and the rainbow on the B side.  I’ve seen a lot of beautiful layouts created with both sides of this paper, and I wanted to challenge myself to use the rainbow with hand stitching.

I also wanted to challenge myself to use more that one paper for my background. The ‘SUN SHOWER’ paper was perfect with the raindrops, and then I used ‘SWEET SERENITY’ for the remainder of the background.  I love the way that the rainbow stops the rain!!

I started by cutting apart the rainbow, and then I pulled matching threads in each of the colours.  Last time I created with Daydream I did some hand stitching on one of the ephemera rainbows, and I decided I wanted to recreate that to really help the rainbow shine.  I especially love stitching sequins, and all of the sequins on this layout are from the ‘SEQUINS & FLOWERS’ pack. I even stitched the tiny gold sequins in the zig zag pattern printed on the paper.

For my embellishment I predominantly used fussy cut floral clusters from ‘GARDEN VARIETY’ and I love how they look with around my photo and tucked under pieces of the rainbow.  Of course I had to use a ‘PUFFY HEART’ too!!

As explained in my journalling, the photo is a sweet photo of my youngest daughter Ava which I took in our local deli!  I found that the best place for my journalling was in the centre of the smallest part of the rainbow.

I also added some of the phrases from the ‘ACCESSORY STICKERS’ which are always perfect if you don’t journal, or if you want a couple of words to help tell your story.  The papers that mat my photo are from the ‘6X8 PAPER STACK’ and I purposefully chose papers that were darker to contrast against all of the lighter rainbow colours. 

Sometimes I really struggle with the words for a title for my layout, and I love that I found a title for my page easily from the ‘DIE CUT TITLES’.

Scrap Lift Challenge | Daydream Collection | Rachel Lowe

Hello CVS friends, Today I have my take on Debra Beer’s layout that Sue and I chose to scrap lift. Here is Debra’s layout!

And here is my take using Daydream collection.

I created two scallop paper strips as the base of my layout, using Stepping Stones and Daisy Days papers (you can either use a hand punch or cut file to do this). I then did a little mixed media (probably as much as I will ever be comfortable in doing!). I used a soft pink and blue as my mixed media colours which coordinate perfectly with the Daydream collection.

I next added my photos, the photo on the left with foam tape to create a 3D effect and the other photo with double sided tape, but before I firmly press and attach I like the option of being able to add elements under the photo.

In keeping with Debra’s layout I added die cut ephemera florals under my photo, also adding a moth with foam tape. On the other side I again added another floral bunch and tucked one of the Puffy Hearts slightly behind my photo.

Instead of using wash tape I used a die cut, row of rainbows from the ephemera pack and finished off using a phrase sentiment from the Daydream Accessory Stickers, which is my title.

I finished off my layout adding a tab at the top of my left photo and instead of a doily I added a circular die cut instead. I also added some clear NUVO crystal drops on leaves, arches of rainbow and centre of photos to create light and shade. I added a light splatter of gold spray, just because I like gold really!!!

I hope I have done justice to Debra’s layout, Sue and I created quite different takes on this lift but that’s because every scrapper is unique I think!

Heart This | Day Dream | Anita Bownds

Hi crafty friends Anita here, sharing a layout using the beautiful Day Dream Collection

I really enjoy spring each year all the flowers are in bloom it’s all so pretty and probably my favourite time of year

I started of by trimming 2 sides of my cardstock and then I matted on sun shower pattern paper
Then using my cameo and a cut file from the silhouette store I cut out 3 border strips using all aflutter pattern paper and then I trimmed 4 strips of sun shower and adhered them down underneath each other, then using my sewing machine I added stitching on each of them.

 

Then I matted my photo on happy place and sweet serenity pattern paper and adhered it just off center of the strips then I started tucking ephemera and accessory stickers under and around my photo. Using pattern paper garden variety I fussy cut out a bunch of flowers and added them to the top and bottom of layout and around my photo

 

Then I added a flower I had previously made to one corner of my photo with fussy cut flowers around and a flair button. Then to finish off with my title from the cardstock titles and a couple of butterflies from the ephemera then I popped a sticker from the accessory stickers underneath the clusters of flowers..

This Sweet Life | Day Dream | Rachel Lowe

Hi CVS friends Rachel here and I have a pretty layout to share using the beautiful new Day Dream collection.

Not being a mixed media girl I love papers that have done all the work for you! I love how beautiful the SWEET SERENITY paper and it gives you that water colour mixed effect to your layout.

I am scrapping a photo of my DD and have used a fab new cut file by Paige Evans available in the Silhouette Design store. Who doesn’t love an embroidery hoop!

I used DAISY DAYS and SUN SHOWER papers to paper piece the embroidery hoop cut file. I then used foam tape to adhere my photo.

I hand stitched the thread of the cut file to add texture and so it made the embroidery hoop appear more authentic.

I just had to add one of the PUFFY HEARTS because I love them!!! I decided on my title taking the SWEET and LIFE words from the DIE CUT TITLES.

Using the DIE CUT EPHEMERA pack I created two embellishment clusters, one to the right of my photo overlapping the embroidery hoop and the second at the top of the hoop. I layered die cut florals, phrase sentiments and moths, foam tapping some to add dimension.

I tucked a die cut rainbow behind the LIFE word and finished off adding some NUVO clear crystal jewel drops to create shadows on flower petals and leaves, and moths wings.

I really don’t think this layout would have so much visual interest if I used a white background and I certainly enjoyed working with a background paper that didn’t need a thing doing to it!
