Hello Friends. International Scrapbooking Day is over and we had tons of fun on our special weekend event. So many amazing challenges from my fellow DT girls and some great discussions too. I asked you a question about your ways to boost up your mojo and each of you has her own, special way. Mine is RAINBOWS and it never disappointed me before. I didn’t have to wait long to use my trick… Last weeks have been really challenging and I am totally not made for home schooling. I am horrible when it comes to patience in explaining the same thing few times in a row. Plus, I lost my free time and hours in my scrappy place are like a luxury. All of this doesn’t make my mojo thrive so I needed my rainbow trick to start creating again. One of the challenges on the group was a lovely and very inspiring moodboard by Anita and all I remembered of it was a photo of colorful dots. It was a starting point of my project.
I took my round punches and cut a lot of circles in three sizes. It was a perfect opportunity to use up some scraps and papers from smaller paper pads. It was my original idea – to use only them but I needed some yellow and green pieces too, so I reached for the papers from the newest “Legendary” collection too. My final project is created with a mix of papers from 6 or 7 different collections. Creating a background didn’t take me a lot of time. I was surprised how quickly it went.
With such a colorful and busy background I needed pictures that will pop out from it. That’s why I used b&w versions with only pinch of color. I backed every photo with a remaining pieces of pattern paper and some bits and pieces from various collections. Some of them are few years old. It was a perfect project to use up the leftovers. I have a special, little box with single stickers and ephemera pieces with lines that are no longer avialable in the shop but I still like coming back to them from time to time. You can spot some puffy stickers from “Make a wish” and “Endless summer” along with tabs from “Life is beautiful” and “Free spirit”.
After my photos were added I picked some small elements from various, both old and new, lines and placed them color on color. I went through ephemera packs and stickers sheets to find the matching ones. It was so fun to dig into my magic box filled with CVS goodies. I even added a flair button from “Legendary” collection! I finished my layout with enamel dots taken from many sets. I am so happy to see this product back in newest collections. I am a big fan of those tiny embellishments.
It feels so rewarding to use up some older goodies and I had so much fan creating this page after the primary block down. Rainbows to the rescue! You can alter this idea by creating a gradient of circles in different shapes of the same color like blue or pink. It would look awesome too! You can also change the shape of elements into the stars or hearts. I will definitelly scraplift myself and this idea one more time.
This all for today. Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.
