Smiles For Miles | Sunkissed | Kylie Kingham

Hello everybody! It’s Kylie back with you all today and I have another new layout to share featuring the ‘Sunkissed’ collection. The theme for today’s blog post was to share my signature style of scrapbooking. For me it’s about layers and flowers. Always flowers. To create paper flowers brings me so much happiness and I love nothing more than to add them into my scrapbooking layouts as I have for todays design. Whilst they can be time consuming, I actually find it relaxing to sit and bring all of the layers together to form a pretty paper bloom. I created these flowers today using a cut file by Paige Evans.

I like to also build layers into a page design. To have something going on in the background, which in this case is some die cut lattice work. I had this particular die in my craft stash and I ran it through my Sizzix machine using white cardstock. It has created some interest behind my paper flowers and breaks up the background a little. It also adds some texture and dimension to my page.

When it comes to constructing my paper flowers I really don’t do a lot to them. I simply curly each petal slightly before gluing each layer together. These particular flowers have even layers each to them and I have centred each of them with an enamel adhesive dot which were from the ‘Legendary’ collection.

The floral die cut pack from the ‘Sunkissed’ collection is so gorgeous and I have adhered some extra blooms as well as some greenery in the form of the die cut leaves amongst my layered flowers. I created a title for my page from my favourite gold glitter foam stickers as well as add in some smaller phrases from the sticker sheet to complete my page.

My photo for this layout was printed to 3″x 4″ in size and in black and white. There are usually two reasons I have if I print in black and white. One if the colours in the photo don’t match the paper collection I wish to use or as in this case, if I have a lot of colour in my page. I want my eye to still be drawn to the image.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I hope you have enjoyed reading about my layout and what I consider to be my signature style.

Until next time,

Kylie.
