Hi everyone!

Can you believe we are almost in the final month of 2020?! As today is the last day of November, that means it’s time to reveal our December challenge for you – designed especially for us by Raquel Bowman.

Here are some details about how our challenges work:

Each challenge starts and ends on the last day of the month. They are revealed here on the blog as well as in our Facebook Community group. The challenge consists of a mood board that has been collated by a member of our design team and contains a variety of images. Simply use the images as inspiration for your project, then post a photo into the challenge album in our Facebook group. Your project can be a layout / set of cards or tags / traveler’s notebook spread / art journal page, etc – it’s entirely up to you. You do not have to use only Cocoa Vanilla Studio products, but they should be the main focus of your creation.

Here’s a look at this month’s board, “Peppermint Place” designed by Raquel…

Raquel went with a gorgeous seasonal vibe for our final challenge of the year, and we are sure you will be inspired by it. It features a festive red mixed with fresh white; clean lines and a mix of layered patterns. Textures inspired by cosy, soft furnishings are contrasted by pointed foliage and rough pine cones. Frames, bells, wreaths, flowers, multiple photos – there are so many ideas you could get from this board! You don’t necessarily have to create a Christmas themed layout, you might be inspired to document your own cozy space or home; something red; party decorations; or even a scene that includes a picket fence. Whatever you choose is entirely up to you – please tell us what inspired you when you load your entry.

Raquel has created a beautiful layout inspired by her board using our new ‘Merry & Bright’ collection

It’s plain to see how this board has inspired Raquel, as her stunning Christmas themed page captures the essence of the board perfectly. From the candy striped pattern of the Jingle All the Way paper that she has used as the border of her page, to her use of red paired with fresh white, with pops of green between.

Raquel carried the Christmas theme through further with her use of the Cut to You cut file baubles, which she backed with a variety of patterned papers.

Raquel also included flowers and a pine Christmas tree in her embellishment cluster, just like the ones that are represented on the board.

This layout is such a beautiful way to document a special family tradition – perhaps you might document one of your own traditions for your entry?
