Lovely | These Days Collection | Mandy Melville

Hey everyone!

Mandy here today to share a new layout using the beautiful These Days collection. You may have noticed that our theme here on the blog this week is ‘Borders and Frames’, and I’m sure that you’ve been enjoying the amazing inspiration from the design team so far. Today I’m sharing my layout for this theme, and for this, I couldn’t go past using the Wall of Fame patterned paper from the These Days collection, as well as the 3×4″ cards, which also feature some gorgeous frames. My favourite way to use frames on a layout is to add them as layers behind the photo, and that’s just what I did on this page. It was the perfect way to frame this sweet photo of me with my youngest daughter.

I decided on using the lovely Daybreak patterned paper as my background for this layout. I started by arranging four of the 3×4″ cards on the background and then I fussy cut a few frames out of the Wall of Fame patterned paper to tuck around them. I matted my photo with the woodgrain Pretty Posies patterned paper, and then adhered it over the top of the frames using craft foam for extra dimension. Using frames in this way is a great way of adding lots of lovely layers and interest around the photo for a little amount of effort.

I created a floral cluster on the bottom right hand corner of the photo using flowers and leaves from the Floral Ephemera pack. I layered one of the flowers on top of the photo, and tucked the others underneath to create some depth within the cluster. I also added one of the beautiful Wood Epoxy Buttons to the cluster. I love these sweet little buttons!

Under the left hand side of the photo I tucked some more florals, as well as a tab from the die cut ephemera pack.

The Foam Title Stickers in this collection are so gorgeous, and they make adding a title to your layouts super easy! I love the beautiful scripty font! I decided on using the word ‘Lovely’ as the title for this layout, and I added it across the top of the photo.

For the final finishing touches on my layout, I added some beautiful butterflies, including one from the Puffy Sticker pack, and a few that I fussy cut out of one of the papers from the A5 Paper Stack. I also added one of the pretty Puffy Gold Glitter Hearts, and a little die cut banner to the right of the photo. Lastly, I finished the page off with my typed journaling strips.

Thanks so much for joining me here on the blog today! I hope that you enjoyed taking a look at my layout, and that maybe you’ve been inspired to use frames on your next layout! I’ll see you back here on the blog next month with some more inspiration.
