Home layout | Daydream collection | Kylie Kingham.
Hello creative friends. It’s Kylie back on the blog today with a new layout to share. The theme the design team is creating to this week is ‘Home is where the heart is’. Family makes my house a home and for today’s layout I wanted to scrapbook some photos of a very much loved, furry family member of ours- ‘Maximus’. We have had our little pooch 5 years, adopting him as a rescued puppy. He may of had a rough start to life but he lives like a ‘little’ king now. Do you like to scrapbook your pets too??
For my page design today I am using the super pretty ‘DAYDREAM’ collection which I have teamed with a fun ‘grid’ design cut file by CUT TO YOU. I really love working with grid like patterns as they are a great way to document more than one photo on a page.
For my background page I layered together UP IN THE CLOUDS, SUNSHOWER and STEPPING STONES. I really love layering several papers to create a ‘border’ or framed effect. In order to conserve your paper supply, you can cut out a square from the centre of each paper prior to adhering them together. These smaller pieces can then be used for other projects. Once my cut file had been cut out, I used several papers from the 6″x 8″ paper stack to back it.
I get asked all the time how do I print my smaller scale photos. There are many ways in which you can, however I like to use my Silhouette Cameo studio software. It’s as easy as sizing them to your needs and printing them on one sheet of A4 glossy photo paper. All I need to do then is cut them out with my trimming board.
Once my photos were in place and I had backed all of my cut file, I adhered it to my background centred, using double sided tape. All that was left to do then was add a few simple embellishments. I used a combination of die cuts as well as stickers, layered together using foam adhesive to create dimension. I also used some of the typed phrase stickers to create some ‘journal’ phrases on some of my photos.
This was a really easy and fast layout to complete. I love that I have several photos of Maximus, (our little Gladiator), preserved on one fun page.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Kylie.
