Grateful Heart | These Days Collection | Rachel Lowe

Hello CVS friends! Today I am sharing my second layout using the oh so beautiful These Days collection. I love this photo of my eldest and youngest and this inspired my layout.

I cut a diagonal strip from the Take Flight paper (butterfly side) and added this over the Family Ties paper (green side). I chose two of the 3×4 inch pocket cards, both black so they would contrast against the colours, one to mat my photo and the other to create a page feature.

I next added florals from the Floral Ephemera Pack starting at the edge and working my way in. Some I added with foam tape and ensured they were positioned in a interesting way across the diagonal (do not to a straight row or it will look flat and uninteresting).

I used die cuts from the Ephemera Pack to embellish my pocket card. I added this gorgeous title with foam tape, I added the little boy from another die cut by fussy cutting and adding him to the mother and daughter die cut, this kept the theme of my photo.

I added extra butterflies from the Puffy Stickers sheet. I had to use the stunning black Foam Title Stickers which really stands out against the muted green and tomes down the multi coloured butterfly paper. I curved my chosen words for visual interest and finished off with a Gold Puffy Heart.

I always leave my layout overnight so I can look again with fresh eyes before I photograph it, this is when I usually add small details like adding the Wooden Epoxy Buttons, more leaves to the florals and so on.

I really enjoyed creating this layout and documenting this moment in time. I am loving seeing all your layouts on social media using These Days, it’s just one of those collections that is so easy to create with!
