Party time | These days Layout | Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here with my newest layout. As I am waiting impatiently to dive into brand new and recently released new line called “Happy days”, I pulled out some older but still pretty collection from my stash called “These days”. If you do not have it yet, there are still plenty of elements available in CVS store and they have some crazy awesome prizes! So go quickly and grab it while you still can.

I scrapbooked picture I took the same day (totally fresh from the oven!) of my two girls getting ready for a birthday party. They are recently in the phase they both like dark (preferably black) colors so this mama is missing all the pink and pastel photos so much. That’s why using “These days” with it’s muted colors was a great choice.

I started with cutting out big letters from a word PARTY with my digital die cutting machine using “Family ties” paper. This colorful pattern has all the colors present in this collection. I arranged my letters on the white cardstock and used my pencil to gently sketch an outlines of them.

Next step was chosing five different colors of Distress Inks and blending them under each letter stepping out ot the lines a little bit, to create sort of colorful shadow. The final result is very subtle, exaclty how I intended it to be. I still have plenty of flowers in my Floral Ephemera pack, so I picked a few adding them color on color (matching the inky shadow witht the flowers). Before I started glueing them down, I added a layer of foam tape under each letter for more dimension.

I love all the papers with elements that can be fussy cut from them, like flowers or butterflies. I always buy more than one paper and I can make myself plenty of extra ephemera pieces. It can strech your collection so much more. This was the case with beautiful “Take flight” paper filled with butterflies. I cut out few of them and added them on top of the letters. I also reached for Ephemera Pack and found more matching elements to tuck under the letters.

With my title almost done, it was time to finally add my photo. I had a perfect spot in the bottom left corner. Before glueing it down, I backed the picture with cute pattern paper with hearts called “Good life”. All I had to do was to add some smalled puffy stickers, clear stickers and 6*12 stickers here and there. I also finished my title adding word “time” using super cute puffy alpha stickers.

And voila! The page is done. Another memory scrapbooked! That is all for today. Don’t forget about the great discount on “These days” collection, that is waiting for you in CVS Shop! I am sure it’s not the last time I am reaching for this amazing line.

This | These Days Collection | Melissa Vining

Hi everyone, it’s Melissa here and I’m back with a new layout, this time created with the beautiful These Days collection, which is currently on sale over in the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Shop.  I was in the mood for fussy cutting, so I fussy cut the frames from Wall of Fame, florals from Home Grown, and butterflies from Take Flight.  The photos are of my daughter announcing a fashion show that she put on for us with her little sister.

For this layout I was inspired by the frames and decided to feature them in a  gallery wall-type design.  I also used a frame from the Die Cut Ephemera, and two of the cut aparts from The Good Life.  For my background gallery wall I used Neighbourhood and Family Ties.

As well as photos within the frames, I also used some patterned paper that I then embellished on the fames and paper within the frames. I embellished with fussy cut flowers, fussy cut butterflies and I even used three of the Wood Epoxy Buttons.

I wrote my journaling in one of the cut apart wreaths which I carefully fussy cut around.

I used a word and lots of leaves from the Foam Title Stickers for my title and extra interest.  I love adding lots of different textures on my layouts.  I also used a beautiful gold ‘Puffy Heart’.

I hope you enjoyed my layout created with These Days. If you are in the Southern Hemisphere like me I think this collection will work really well for documenting your Autumn memories.

Happy Days | These Days | Josefine Van der Hoeven

Hello Paperlovers, So happy to see you on the Cocoa Vanilla blog today! I chose the amazing collection “These Days” designed by of course Coco Vanilla Studio. I absolutely love the beautiful colors in this collection that fit perfectly to create a beach themed layout. With this blog I want to take you through my creative process…..

I started with a blank white cardstock sheet and took inspiration from cardmakers. Instead of one decorated circle, I place four in a grid pattern on my white cardstock sheet.I choose several pattern papers and cut out three circles. Then I cut out three circle edges. I add a light blue sewing stitch to these circle edges. I also provide the beach picture with a light blue sewing stitch.

 

 

I placed the circle edges with 3D tape on top of the pattern circles. This way I created more dimension and can slide the flower die-cuts between the layers much easier.

 

 

I love creating different layers with so many beautiful and different embellishments from this amazing collection. I choose different floral die-cuts, butterflies cut from patterned paper, wooden buttons, little cute gold colored heart and different word stickers. I absolutely love how the differents clusters turned out.

For the title “Happy Days” I used a shape die-cut along with the mini puffy alphabet. See the little title cluster on the photo. For a real beach vibe, I made a view white splatters with gesso. I mixed gesso with a little bit of water and I used a water color brush to splatter. I also made some light pink splatters using the Distress Oxide color “Saltwater taffy” I hope I was able to inspire you with this scrapbook layout and hope to see you on the blog next time. Fun Fun Fun | No Limits collection | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new layout created using the awesome No Limits collection!

I haven’t created a boy layout for a while and I have lots of the awesome No Limits collection! I grabbed a sweet black and white photo of my youngest son and got to work creating!

I chose the awesome Spark paper for my main background, trimmed this piece down to measure 11′ x 11′ inches and then adhered it to the ‘B’ side of the Latitude paper

I then bent the edges up to create some texture and shadows on my page. I decided on a round design for this layout and took a dinner plate and pencil and lightly traced a circle with the dinner plate. I knew I wanted to add lots of the ephemera around the outside edge. This is a great way to use up lots of leftovers or little bits and pieces you may have laying around and don’t really know what to do with!

Before adding all of the ephemera and embellishments around the circle I wanted to get my photo in its place, as it is a large element and the main focal point of my page, this is important to me to get this part right. I layered one of the 3′ x 4′ pocket cards under the photo and adhered it to the right hand side of the page using craft foam. I did also cut in half one of the round frame die-cuts and tucked a piece in the top and bottom of my photo. For my title, I adhered another of the cool pocket cards with the words Fun Fun Fun! I also layered one of the phrase stickers from the accessory sticker sheet on top.

My favourite part when I create a layout is the embellishing! What’s yours?

Once my photo and title were added it was time to add all the embellishments around the drawn circle. I used a mixture of ephemera, chipboard, wood epoxy buttons, puffy stickers and accessory stickers. I adhered them all down around the circle using different types of adhesives. The chipboard I used a wet glue (even though these have their own adhesive, I like to add more as extra), the ephemera I used double sided tape and foam tape to give different dimension heights. I was careful to place similar colour elements away from each other, this helps creating a visual triangle on my page.

It was so fun to arrange all the elements around the circle, I placed larger embellishments first and then added smaller ones in between. To the right of my photo I stamped the date stamp using black ink and my date stamp. Lastly I sprinkled some black mist to finish my layout.

Follow the Bunny he has Chocolate! | Daydream Collection | Rachel Lowe

There are Easter eggs and hot cross buns in the shop which means Easter is coming! I love creating for Easter, the colours, cute animals and an opportunity to gift your creations to others.

Today I am sharing a super cute Easter themed layout featuring my girl! Daydream collection is perfect for Easter themed paper creations don’t you think!

I firstly added a mixed media background choosing the blue/grey to add a contrast to my chosen papers. I next found a super cute bunny rabbit cut file from the Silhouette Design store. Instead of adding a pom pom to create the tail I decided to create a rosette to add extra dimension and visual interest. I also added some glitter to the rosettes for effect.

I cut a half rainbow from the journal cards paper which I tucked behind the smaller bunny and then added my photo over it. I matted my photo which is 3.5×3.5 inches, my photo is added with foam tape and finished off my adding a phrase sentiment tab from the Accessory Sticker sheet.

I found the perfect title for my layout from the Silhouette Design store, I did work out the placement before gluing anything down!

I fussy cut some butterflies from the 12×12 inch paper and added with foam tape except the yellow one which I tucked to the right of my photo.

Lastly I created a flower cluster under my larger bunny which add another contrast against the blue bunny, and to be honest every pretty layout needs flowers!

And there you have it, my first Easter project of 2023! This layout is a great way to use up smaller paper pieces and still create a fab layout.

The Best | Unforgettable collection | Sophie Delorme

Hey Cocoa Vanilla friends!

It’s Sophie with you today with a new layout to share!

 

I use the beautiful Unforgettable collection this time. I wanted to highlight a yummy dessert that my sweet Sabrina baked and was so proud of!

I started with a thick white cardstock and used three colors from @Shimmerzpaints to create a little mixed media background.

I cut two pieces of the Sprightly paper and placed them horizontally on the top and bottom of the page. I did a zigzag stitch at their edge.

 

I centered my photo and mounted it on tissue paper and foam adhesive. I decorated in little clusters of embellishments around my photo and used the Foam Title Stickers – my favorites amongst all! – to create my title.

 

I scattered a few butterflies, handwrote my journaling directly on my background and stamped the date.

I am so happy with the result! I only had a few elements from that amazing collection left and tended to hoard them…! I am glad that I used them on this project!

NEW Happy Days Collection | Reveal & Giveaway!

Hello everyone, and happy Friday… Long time no see! It’s been a whirlwind few months, and I’m glad to be back to reveal our first collection of 2023!

After the dark times I’ve been through since Christmas, I felt like a bit of sunshine and happiness was what the doctor ordered to put a smile on my dial and forget my worries for a little while… So, here is our new Happy Days collection, full of sunshine and rainbows and bright happy colours that make my heart sing :)

This collection was originally meant to be released earlier in the year to tie in with our Summer here in Australia, but life had different plans and I had to put production on hold for a while. But, it’s always Summer somewhere in the world, right??

I would like to dedicate this collection to my sister, Kellie, who passed away just after Christmas last year.  For a long time she brought a lot of sunshine and smiles to my life, and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without her.  I wish that I could have brought enough sunshine and rainbows to her life to bring her more happy days, and be able to keep the darkness away. Now I know she is smiling again, surrounded by sunshine and rainbows, back with the people she loved more than life.

This collection will start shipping to our wonderful retailers early April 2023

Sweet Moments | Daydream collection | Mandy Melville

Hello everyone!

Mandy here with you today to share a new layout using one of my all-time favourite collections, Daydream! I adore the pretty colours and sweet florals in this collection and I can’t help coming back to it time and again. The photo that I chose for this layout is one of my Mum and youngest daughter, taken recently when we enjoyed a fun girls day out, op shopping and lunching!

The gorgeous wreath on the Daisy Days paper is one of my favourites, and it was the perfect way to showcase a special photo such as this one. I decided to add some extra interest to the background by using the Sun Shower paper to frame the wreath. I did this by cutting a wavy circle out of the middle of the paper and then laying it over the wreath paper.

Next I matted my photo using one of the papers from the 6 x 8 inch Paper Stack and I adhered it at the bottom of the wreath. I added some extra die cut flowers around the bottom of the photo, adhering them with foam tape to give them some nice dimension. I also added some leaves from the These Days Floral Ephemera to the cluster, and I finished it off with a Wood Epoxy Button, also from the These Days collection.

I love combining different alphas to create my titles and on this layout I chose to use a combination of the lovely Mini Puffy Alphas from the These Days collection, with a word from the Daydream Die Cut Titles. My title ‘Sweet Moments’ was the perfect sentiment for this photo. I added my typed journaling strips underneath the title.

I finished the layout off by adding a couple of sweet little butterflies that I fussy cut from one of the 6 x 8 papers, and I also tucked one of the lovely Puffy Hearts into the cluster around the photo. I love the texture that this adds to the page!
