Blessed Christmas Eve everyone! First, thanks for taking the time today to check in here at Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I really, really love Christmas and think it is often a good time to pause in the midst of all the festivities to give thanks. This year, I am giving thanks for my three little darlings, who fill my everyday with all sorts of joy, mischief and fun.

Before I created this page, my intention was to create a wooden tiled panel design for my background, so that my wreath would appear to be hanging off a wooden wall. To achieve this effect, I used the woodgrain papers from the Hello Sunshine and  Make a Wish collections. I really do think that CVS has a wonderful range of woodgrains patterned papers and it was by no means easy limiting myself to only these two papers. I cut my papers into strips and laid them to form a chevron pattern in the middle, with straight lines running vertically and horizontally on the outside edges.

I adhered these panels to the side of the Merry & Bright paper. For my wreath, I first cut out a ring and then went to town decking it with holly leaves, poinsettias, resin stars and enamel dots. I was also happy to sneak in some of those key charms in this wreath.

To top off the wreath, I drew a banner and tried my hand at brush lettering to pen “Merry Christmas” on it.

While my writing is still a little shaky on it, I am glad that I can create a page of this nature to celebrate all that I am glad for this year – family, Christmas and the freedom to try new crafts, like brush calligraphy. I spritzed on a little mist and sprinkled on some sequins for added fun, before deciding that my page was completed. So thrilled to have created a Christmas page.

Once again, thanks for being here today. Have a most blessed Christmas with all your loved ones and a Happy New Year!
