Hi there! Sophie here today to share with you my interpretation of the wonderfully versatile sketch #299 by Creative Scrappers.
First, I worked with the Totally Rad collection for my page. Once I have selected my papers and photos, I decided to tilt the entire sketch slightly and also adhere my photos to the page in a non-linear fashion. I love a page with multiple photos, especially when they line up and tell a story. On this page, I scrap about my son’s first haircut, one which was nothing short of epic. He did not enjoy it as all and cried throughout. In fact, it is only recently, when he turned three, that we finally succeeded in sending him to the barber’s without a meltdown. Bravo little man!
I like how this sketch called for three clusters of embellishments and that was where I had loads of fun with the die cut ephemera, acetate stars, woodies, flair buttons, paperclip and stickers. I decided to cut out the “epic” speech bubble from the Mix Tape paper and adhered that at the top cluster to emphasize what a huge deal this first haircut was.
For the title of the page, I outlined my alphabet stickers for added emphasis.
Finally, I ran some black stitches on this page using my sewing machine and thought leaving the ends of the thread on the page sewing will play along nicely to the theme of the page. I completed the page with some enamel shapes.
Thanks for joining me today! I had fun creating this page and seriously, creating a page using a sketch really makes the whole process much faster. Do join in the fun and you might just win some yummy Cocoa Vanilla Studio yummies for yourself! All details can be found in this post.
