Dream catcher “Love you” | Wild at heart | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-05-12T04:38:27+00:00 May 14th, 2017|Design Team, Free Spirit, Uncategorized, Wild at Heart|

Hello crafty friends. It’s Anna here with my newest project created with gorgeous “Wild at heart” collection. It’s my first ever dream catcher made of embroidery hoop. It will not catch all the nightmares for sure but I hope looking at it before going to bed will bring only the best dreams. I was inspired by all the flowers You can find in “Wild at heart” collection.

My circle has a diameter about 11 inches so it’s quite big. When You add all the twines and ribbons You get a long piece of decoration ūüôā

I created my own background for the hoop. I used watercolors as they match “Wild at heart” collection perfectly. My theme for this week was to create a Mother’s Day related project. I decided to use a selfie of me and my girls. It doesn’t has a best quality but I love this picture. It reminds me of my greatest treasure. When You become a mom everything changes. I would never thought that You can love someone else so hard. I know that every mom know that feeling.

I used pieces of few different papers to create a composition behind the picture. I love how contrasting those papers are. You can find coral, navy, light blue and pink and they all match perfectly. I also added two cardboard frames. There are so many to choose from.

I was so inspired by the flowers in this collection so I decided to paint and fussy cut few of my own flowers. I built a composition around my picture using a lot of 3D foam squares. I also added my favourite embellishment – cardboard stickers. They even included the perfect title for this photo.

I must confess that I already used one sheet of “Mariposa” paper to fussy cut the butterflies. You can never have enough of them ūüôā Glitter enamel dots look fantastic over my blue background and add great texture to the project.

Some flair button with butterfly and woodies from older collection “Free spirit” are a cherry on the top.

I hope You like my unusual project. It was so fun to make and it’s such an eye candy on my wall. Thank You for stopping by and see You in two weeks.

XO Anna

You ROCK Prize Winners & Collection Update

By | 2017-04-12T09:16:08+00:00 April 13th, 2017|Reveals & GiveAways, Uncategorized, You ROCK|

Hi everyone!

Thanks so so much to everyone who commented on the reveal of our You ROCK collection! ¬†As always, I was blown away by your response and I’m so happy to hear that you like it… ¬†Looks like this is going to be another popular collection for the boys – yay!!

I also have some important updates about the collection, but let’s get the good stuff out of the way first!

The winner of the full collection prize is…

Rachel Dutko with comment number 14.

Congratulations Rachel! ¬†I can’t wait to see what you do with your prize!

I decided NOT to use the random picker for our runner up¬†winner… ¬†I read EVERY¬†comment and they all make me so happy, but¬†Tracy Smith’s¬†comment hit me right in the heart.

Tracy, I designed the collection… and¬†I too have a boy that is unique and different and challenging… and I couldn’t be happier or prouder of¬†my quirky dude, no matter how whacky anyone else thinks he is *sniff*

Congratulations ladies – keep an eye on your inbox as Sue will be in contact soon to get your details and we’ll get your prize out to you ASAP!

Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to leave a comment… The collection is now available for pre-order for our wholesale customers, and it will be hitting their shelves in a couple of short¬†weeks…

The great news is this¬†collection has arrived and is being unpacked ready to send to our lovely retailers!¬†However as I’ve been unpacking the stock, it has come to my attention that due to manufacturing processes there are some slight colour differences to what was intended and originally advertised. It can be hard to predict how colours will print on different materials, and usually the differences are not noticeable. This mainly affects the red and dark teal colours in the papers.

Please see the updated previews for the collection below. I think the collection still looks great and the changes don’t detract from the overall feel of the line, but I realise it is different to what was originally advertised so I wanted to make sure I posted the updated previews. ¬†The Reveal post has been updated with full size previews if you would like to see them larger.

Retailers – if you have placed a pre-order for this collection, you have been sent an email with details. ¬†If you didn’t¬†receive it, please contact me!

And that’s it for me for now…¬†Thanks so much again for all of your positive feedback on this collection! ¬†Until next time, happy scrapping! ūüôā

And any excuse for flamingos, right? Hehe…

So many fun pieces in this collection – I think I used a bit of everything in this page – I couldn’t help myself!

But I think the ephemera is my favourite – so many great pieces for layering and clustering…

I’m excited to see the Woodies back for this collection – they add a great finishing touch!

My puppy Daisy likes it too lol (sorry, I couldn’t resist putting this photo up, it was too cute)!

Beach Closed | Hello Sunshine | Marcia Dehn-Nix

By | 2016-10-14T13:06:36+00:00 October 18th, 2016|Design Team, Hello Sunshine, Uncategorized|

Hello Cocoa Vanilla Studio friends!

Marcia here today. This month Cocoa Vanilla Studios is sponsoring an awesome sketch blog; Creative Scrappers. Kristine Davidson does an amazing job creating the sketches. Here is the October sketch she sent us.

All the Cocoa Vanilla Studio designers played along creating a layout using a different collection. I used the fabulous¬†Hello Sunshine collection. I love the Hello Sunshine collection for scrapping photos from a¬†winter getaway my husband and I took to Hawaii. February is the raining season in Hawaii, and it rained almost every day we were there. Beaches were closed because the surf was unbelievably rough too. That didn’t stop us from checking out the sites. When you are from Minnesota where February temps are way below freezing, it was a joy to be warm again … even if we were wet. Beach photos are especially suited to this collection. The color¬†palette compliments the sand and the waves so well. In my layout I wanted to emphasize that rough surf. I did this by cutting my photo into 4 parts and staggering them so it would appear the surf was higher. Here is my layout …

I clustered some clouds to the right of my photo … perfect to convey the rainy day with a few peeks of sunshine. Layers of die cut ephemera are mixed with woodies, fancy buttons, and enamel shapes.

I love the wood veneer pieces … this bicycle is amazing!

I balanced out the left side of my layout with this anchor flair button¬†along with¬†more¬†woodies and enamel shapes. I cut my Beach title from 2 different pattern papers using my Silhouette and then layered them … adding the ‘closed’ using alpha stickers from Hello Lovely.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Check back often to see what the other designers have created using the sketch. Have a great week!
