Pink or blue? That is not even a question for me. I am TEAM PINK for a long time. Not that I do not like blue but as a mom of two girls I am descent for pink. But seriously – who doesn’t like pink? Cocoa Vanilla Studio has so much to offer when it comes to pink papers and embellishments. That’s why I decided to mix few collection to create this very pink page.

I started with a sheet of watercolor paper and painted a circle using watercolor paints in different shades of pink. I also added few splashes here and there.

I didn’t want to cover my whole background with paper scraps so I decided to use (finally after so many years 🙂 ) my border punchers and make few fun stripes. You can spot a lot of different papers here like: “Sweet floral“, “Candy stripes“, “Dreamy“, “Frolic“, “Hip hooray“, “Party mix“, “Doodle dandy” and “Dreamer“. They are all from different collections but they have something in common – pink color.

With background as busy as mine I didn’t need much of embellishments. After all you don’t want to cover all that hard labor 😀 I chose two funny pictures of me taken with some animal filters (I always wanted to be a giraffe with glittery ears). I added a chipboard frame from “Love always” chipboard stickers sheet and surrounded it with flowers from “Bohemian dream” ephemera pack.

Few “Free spirit” puffy stickers along with glittery enamel dots were a perfect finishing touches. I created a title using white alpha stickers from “Color me happy” and a set of “Make a wish” alpha stickers.

I also have a process video for you:

That’s all for today. I hope you will join TEAM PINK too and you will create something covered with pink, glitter and all the cuteness of the world. See you in two weeks with some pretty “Bohemian dream” inspiration.

XO Anna

Sweet Eliza | Love Always | Mandy Melville

Hi everyone! Mandy here today to share my latest design team layout with you! This time I used the beautiful Love Always collection to document a photo of my beautiful little niece. I adore the pretty pastel colours in this collection, and I think it’s perfect for scrapbooking baby photos!

Here’s my layout…

How sweet is my little niece, Eliza?!! I love being an auntie, and I just adore her so much!!

I wanted this layout to feature a minimalist design, and let me tell you, it was so hard to not add more things to the page! Sometimes I think a minimalist design is harder to achieve than a layout with more on it because you have to be more deliberate about what you add to the page. But I’m so happy with how it turned out, and the soft pinks and greys in the Love Always collection were so perfect for this layout!

The first thing I did was matt my white cardstock background with the reverse side of the Lovely Things patterned paper. I also added some machine stitching around the edge of the white cardstock which adds some subtle texture to the page.

Because I was keeping the embellishing to a minimum on this page, I wanted to add lots of layers behind my photo to create some extra interest. Included in the layers are a couple of patterned papers from the collection, including Note to Self and Frolic (reverse side), as well as a doily from my stash, a scallop die cut from the ephemera pack and a film strip die cut from the Wild at Heart ephemera. I also added some foam tape behind my photo to lift it up off the page and give it some extra dimension.

I tucked a wood veneer flower underneath the left hand side of the photo. I absolutely LOVE the wood veneer pieces in this collection – they’re so beautiful!! I also popped a chipboard sticker on top of the left hand side of the photo. How pretty is the scripty font on that sticker?!

I created my title using a wood veneer word combined with the Love Always Alphabet Stickers. I love how soft and pretty these alphas are!

I finished my layout off by adding a couple of die cut hearts to the page, as well as a bitty bloom. And lastly I added a few grey ink splatters.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! I look forward to sharing another project with you later this month.

I also have a process video for this layout if you’d like to see how it came together.

This Makes Me So Happy | Mix & Match | Missy Whidden

By | 2017-08-09T00:22:48+00:00 August 10th, 2017|Cut Files, Design Team, Inspiration, Love Always, Make A Wish, Wild at Heart|

Hello friends!  Missy here, and I have a new layout to share today.  I combined a few collections on this page including Love Always and Wild At Heart.  I wanted to see how the florals from both collections would look, and I love how it turned out!  I love using watercolors to create a background that pulls all the colors together.  I think the light and dark pinks look so pretty mixed with the light oranges and corals.  I started with this beautiful black and white dotted patterned paper from Love Always.  I coated a lot of it with white acrylic paint to fade out some of the circles.  This makes the background less busy and helps the photo and embellishments to stand out while still leaving some of the dots scattered around the edges.  I did a lot of fussy cutting and used one of the exclusive floral cut files as well.

I used a few different shades of pink and coral watercolors on the background.  I used the plastic packaging technique as well as a brush.  It did take some time to fussy cut all those flowers, but the end result is worth it.  I tucked the cut file in as a layer and added some tangled thread.  I also added some foam under my photo to raise it up off the page.

Again, I mixed collections here.  I used a Rubber Charm from Wild At Heart, and the striped banner piece is from the Love Always Accessory Sticker Sheet.  I added in a few sequins from my stash that matched the mint leaves.

After the pink and coral watercolor dried, I splattered in some light aqua and silver ink sprays.  I also added in a few more pieces here.  The Chipboard Stickers are from Wild At Heart, and the “captured” sticker is from Love Always.
I created a small floral cluster down at the bottom left area with more fussy cut flowers and tangled thread.  I used a few more Wild At Heart Chipboard Stickers here as well.

I fussy cut this circle from a Love Always paper and added a few flowers to the left of it.  I overlapped the watercolor so it blended in and looked like part of the background instead of just a random piece that I just stuck down.  I also stitched through it and topped it with some sequins.

I used this piece as my title.  It’s from a 3×4 cut apart piece from a Love Always paper.  I love that it’s a dark grey color and matches the photo.  I layered a few more flowers here, did some stitching and wrote my journaling.

I hope this inspires you to mix and match your collections.  It’s fun to come up with new color schemes and see what embellishments work with it.  Check out my process video if you’d like to see how I created this.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Hey there, friends! It’s BEA here, and I’m sharing a new layout I created using the beautiful Love Always collection.  The soft colors of this collection are beyond amazing, perfect for a girly layout! I decided to print some lovely photos of a weekend we spent in Barcelona.

I arranged the 4 small photos in a group , and adhered them to a square paper using double sided foam tape. I wanted to create a girly and energetic look for my entire layout. With that in mind I decided to use the zig-zig patterned B side of the Bouquet paper as the background of my layout. I trimmed a wide and a thin stripe following the zig-zag pattern and aligned the stripes underneath each other to the middle of a white card stock.

I also used the floral side of that paper, fussy some pretty flowers and use them as scattered embellishments around the page. I like to arrange everything before I actually stick it down, that way I can fiddle around and move bits and bobs until I like their placement.

This collection is full packed with pretty embellishments. I embellished my layout with some pieces of ephemera, puffy stickers, wood veneers, flair button, and my fave glitter dots. Look how sparkly and glittery they are!  So pretty. For adding dimension to the page, I adhered the flowers with double sided foam tape. I love how the edges of the leaves stand up off the page.

I chose one of the ephemera piece under to photo to keep my thoughts.

I hope I could inspire you to use multiply photos on your next layout! Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!

Sisters | Love always layout | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-07-28T18:51:26+00:00 July 29th, 2017|Colour Me Happy, Design Team, Inspiration, Love Always|

Hello girls and boys. How is your summer / winter going? We are in the middle of the summer school break here in Poland and I must say… Oh how I love the school days 😀 My girls are fighting constantly. Sometimes I just want to run away from all those “Mom!!!! Maja took my toy”, ‘Mom, Gabrysia is touching me”. But there are also those cute moments, when they love each other, play nicely, cuddle and are the best sisters ever.

I found this picture lately with newborn Maja and I thought they look so beautiful together and I need to make a page with this photo. I turned it into black and white version and reached for soft and pretty “Love always” collection.

I picked this lovely paper with pink stripes called “Twin set” for my background. I also cut few simple butterfly shapes using my Cameo and some paper scraps and vellum.

I didn’t glue the butteflies to my background. I only sew them through the middle. Thanks to that I gained a dimensional and whimsical background for my picture. I also added some smaller butterflies from ephemera pack and vellum accents pack.

I embellished space around my picture using chipboard stickers and puffy stickers. I only picked pink and grey elements to keep my page quite monochromatic. At the beginning I was going to add the blue color too but after my page was half done I decided I like it more with pink and grey colors only. I also added a flair button with cute inscription. I made a title using white alpha stickers from “Color me happy” collection.

I finished my page by adding few glittery enamel dots and white splatters.

I usually make more colorful pages but this one won my heart. It’s soft, pastel and brings so many good memories and emotions.

That’s all for today. Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.

Hi Creative friends,

Gwen here today to share another layout, this one featuring the beautiful Hello Lovely collection and a joyful picture of Miss 10 inside a Butterfly house on a recent family holiday.  I was drawn to this collection for its beautiful flower and butterfly icons, both the perfect fit for my photo.

I began this page at a crop with a friend and as I started working, I really wasn’t feeling like the page was working.  I don’t often scrap away from home and I think I had left my mojo behind!  So, instead of pushing paper around the page for hours, I thought, why not spend the time chatting and adding some hand stitching to the delicate background paper?

I began by cutting out the floral/star design on the B side of the Delightful paper.  I then poked holes around the outer edge and then all intersecting lines and stitched away.  Yep, it took a while, but I am so in love with how it turned out.

Next, it was time to mat my photo, I was able to squeeze a photo mat out of the remaining piece of this paper and for softness added a layer of vellum from my stash.  I have kept the photo mat layers to a minimum as I didn’t want to cover up or distract from all that hand stitching I had just spent hours doing!

To create my floral embellishment clusters, I’ve taken the Glimmer paper and fussy cut out the florals from the B side, I’ve chosen the smaller ones in the design and teamed them with elements from the Die cut Ephemera pack and Accessory Stickers sheet.

I’ve also combined a few things from other collections, like the Free Spirit Woodies and Love Always Wood Veneer, Bits and Pieces and Enamel Dots – sparkles.  I just love how everything works so well together, even if they are different collections.  This is a great way to use up bits and pieces.

I’ve worked around my photo creating a larger cluster on the left and a smaller one on the right, layering as I went being sure to pop up some elements on foam tape for dimension.

I love the mix of textures too, from the flat stickers to the wood elements to the metal butterflies, they all add interest to the design.

I’ve added my title at the bottom of the page and to coordinate with the wood elements in the clusters, I have used more wood veneer.  These are a mixture of collections with the word “Happy” coming from the Love Always collection and the “you” coming from the Wood Veneer Words from the Colour Me Happy collection.

I am really happy with how it turned out especially considering I didn’t think this one was working at the start! Proof, you can make things work if you go with the flow a little and stay flexible in your design process.

My Heart is Full | Love Always | Sue Plumb

By | 2017-07-07T00:47:14+00:00 July 7th, 2017|Design Team, Inspiration, Love Always|

Hi everyone! Sue here with you today to continue with this week’s focus on “the story”, and using journaling on your layouts to make sure you tell the story behind the photos you scrap.

The page I have to share with you today features the beautiful ‘Love Always’ collection, and a candid photo of my children that I took a few years ago. It was taken back when my boys were still babies; when my daughter used to give them a nightly bottle while I prepared dinner for the rest of the family. We had a deal with her that she could watch whatever she wanted on TV while she did it.

I started with the soft pink side of the ‘Class Act’ paper as my base, and added some mixed media to it before I went any further. I first added some stamping using a random text stamp (perfect for a story theme, don’t you think?) to the top right corner and bottom left corner. I then added some pink watercolour paint over the top, to further define the focal areas of my page. Next, I added some smears of coloured texture paste, and some splatters of mist; then set it aside to dry.

The next step was to create the layered mat for my photo to sit on. I used a variety of papers (‘Note to Self’; ‘Class Act’ and ‘Lovely Things’), which I layered together with some messy cotton thread before mounting my photo on top. I also used some of the same papers in my cluster at the top of the page, along with pieces from the die cut ephemera pack.

Above my photo, I added the word together that was cut from the ‘Lovely Things’ cut apart paper; as well as a small arrow from the puffy sticker sheet. Alongside my photo, I added another piece from the cut apart, as well as an arrow from the chipboard accent sticker sheet.

I then added the two die cut butterflies from the ephemera pack just below my top cluster; and dotted some of the Sparkles enamel dots around my page.

To finish off, I added my typed journaling; as well as the small my heart is full banner from the ephemera pack as my title.

I am so glad this theme prompted me to get this memory documented before the details became a distant memory. Do you have any photos laying around that need their stories told too? I hope this week is inspiring you to get them out and document them.

Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time, happy scrapping!
