Hello everyone. Welcome in another post in our “Scrap lift week”. This time it was my turn to choose one from many fantastic pages created by CVS team and scrap lift it. I struggled a lot because I wanted to scrap lift at least 10 pages (and I probably will do in the future ūüôā ). I finally decided to go crazy with large photo and I chose page created by talented Ulrike Dold.

This is my version:

And here is a beautiful page of Ulrike.

I decided to keep it as much similar as possible. I used big picture, various paper strips, wood veneer title and small embellishments here and there. I slightly changed the color scheme from pink to pink-blue-orange. It was such a great pleasure and fun to scrap lift this page.

You all know how easy it is to combine few CVS collections in one project. And it’s exactly what I did here. I picked some pink and blue papers from various collections and added few pattern papers. I dived into “Hello lovely“, “Love always” and “Make a wish” collections I picked few papers. I combine them in triangular shapes and sew them with sewing machine.

I also created a¬†wood veneer title. Word HEART is from “Wild at heart” wood veneers set and word SWEET is from “Love always” wood veneers set.

I also gathered matching stickers and other embellishments. You can spy cute deer from button set from “Free spirit” collection along with paper flowers from “Hello lovely” collection. I also used few puffy stickers from “Make a wish” and mix of enamel dots.

I rarely use big pictures but working with them is such a different experience. You can’t add too much of embellishments and papers because the picture is a main focus of the page. I really like creating this way I will for sure try to use more of big photos.

Stars, splashes and some dimensional elements like rubber charms and chipboard stickers are like a cherry on the top of this page. I love the final result.

Thank You for stopping by and see You in two weeks.

XO Ania

Dream catcher “Love you” | Wild at heart | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-05-12T04:38:27+00:00 May 14th, 2017|Design Team, Free Spirit, Uncategorized, Wild at Heart|

Hello crafty friends. It’s Anna here with my newest project created with gorgeous “Wild at heart” collection. It’s my first ever dream catcher made of embroidery hoop. It will not catch all the nightmares for sure but I hope looking at it before going to bed will bring only the best dreams. I was inspired by all the flowers You can find in “Wild at heart” collection.

My circle has a diameter about 11 inches so it’s quite big. When You add all the twines and ribbons You get a long piece of decoration ūüôā

I created my own background for the hoop. I used watercolors as they match “Wild at heart” collection perfectly. My theme for this week was to create a Mother’s Day related project. I decided to use a selfie of me and my girls. It doesn’t has a best quality but I love this picture. It reminds me of my greatest treasure. When You become a mom everything changes. I would never thought that You can love someone else so hard. I know that every mom know that feeling.

I used pieces of few different papers to create a composition behind the picture. I love how contrasting those papers are. You can find coral, navy, light blue and pink and they all match perfectly. I also added two cardboard frames. There are so many to choose from.

I was so inspired by the flowers in this collection so I decided to paint and fussy cut few of my own flowers. I built a composition around my picture using a lot of 3D foam squares. I also added my favourite embellishment – cardboard stickers. They even included the perfect title for this photo.

I must confess that I already used one sheet of “Mariposa” paper to fussy cut the butterflies. You can never have enough of them ūüôā Glitter enamel dots look fantastic over my blue background and add great texture to the project.

Some flair button with butterfly and woodies from older collection “Free spirit” are a cherry on the top.

I hope You like my unusual project. It was so fun to make and it’s such an eye candy on my wall. Thank You for stopping by and see You in two weeks.

XO Anna

MOM | Free Spirit | Ulrike Dold

Hello everyone,

Ulli here with you today sharing a Mother¬īs day themed layout.

I wanted to create a layout which is a love letter from me to my little girl. I wrote a long journaling which I addressed to her. The journaling is about how Lina came to us and made me a mom. I wrote about holding the positive pregnancy test in my hands, my wonderful and exciting pregnancy, hearing her heartbeat for the first time, her first kick…I love her so much and I am so happy to have her in my life. I chose 3 photos from different stages of my pregnancy and another photo that was taken directly after the birth.

I picked ‚ÄúMom‚ÄĚ for my title and decided to create a big title using different patterned papers.

I mostly used the Free Spirit collection and also some embellishments from the new Wild at Heart collection and the Make a Wish collection.

I wanted to divide my 12×12 cardstock into three sections: photos at the top, long journaling in the middle and big title at the bottom.

First I typed up my journaling on a white cardstock using my typewriter. I had to start over three times because I made some typos. It is not easy to type such a long text on a layout without making mistakes!

Then I arranged the four photos at the top. I layered the amazing floral cut file from Cocoa Vanilla Studio behind some of the photos. I framed the first photo on the left side with a chipboard frame from the gorgeous Wild at Heart collection.

Then I cut out the word MOM from three different patterned papers from the Free Spirit collection. I used both sides of the ‚ÄěWildflowers‚Äú paper and for the third I picked the ‚ÄěDreamy‚Äú paper. I used some big gold letters from my stash as template and cut them out with my scissors. Then I adhered ¬†them to the bottom of the 12×12 sheet.

Now I could start embellishing the layout. I splattered some gold and black paint across the page and decorated the photos with some of the die cut ephemera from the Free Spirit collection. I popped up two die cuts using glue dots to give them some dimension.

I also used a paper flower from the Endless Summer collection, the XOXO flair button, a woodie from the Free Spirit collection and an enamel star from the Make a Wish collection. I used the wood veneer word Love from the Wild at Heart collection and placed it on the bottom of two photos on the right side.

I added some die cuts from the Free Spirit collection (Precious and Our Story) to my big title, as well as a wooden heart from the Wild At Heart collection and some enamel shapes in different colors from the Make a Wish collection.

I hope you like my layout and had fun reading my post!

Till next time,

Hi creative friends,

Gwen here today for something a little different. ¬†This week on the blog we are Scrap lifting!! ¬†Like many of you, I’m sure, I’m a huge fan of Raquel Bowman and could not go past the opportunity to scrap lift one of her Cocoa Vanilla layouts. ¬†After a lot of indecision (there are WAY too many beautiful designs to choose from), I went with this one. ¬†I love the clean lines and central design and thought it would suit my photos really well.

and here is my version of her design:

It was so fun to have a design to work with and not have to make too many decisions about what should go where, almost like a sketch!  It meant the page came together really quickly as well!

I am still totally crushing on the Wild At Heart collection, and I knew it would be a great fit for my pictures. ¬†I began by adding the top and bottom strips of Artisan paper pieces to the Double Dot paper. ¬†I’ve also added some layers of the Patchwork paper both the A and B sides, for a pop of pink and florals. ¬†I did also use some basic white card stock from my stash. ¬†I have mat my photos with the B side of the¬†Double Dot¬†paper, I so love this shade of mint green and added lots of stitched details.

I also had the idea to use the negative chipboard piece from the “Love You” sentiment from the¬†chipboard accent stickers¬†as my title. I felt it was a really good fit with the Scrap lifted design as I needed something quite large that would fit across the width of my photo and keep with the linear style of the page. ¬†It was also a great way to get more out of the chipboard. ¬†Do you use the negative pieces on your layouts?

Next, I began work on the flower clusters to the left and right of the photo. ¬†There are so many beautiful elements in the Wild At Heart¬†ephemera¬†pack it was so fun to layer them all up together. ¬†I finished off the clusters with some flowers from the¬†Free Spirit¬†and¬†Hello Lovely¬†collections. ¬†I have added quite a few more pieces than Raquel did, simply because I feel my style is more layered and I do love to add heaps of embellishments. ¬†Even when scrap lifting, I think it’s important to be true to what you like and make the borrowed design your own.

Have you seen the Rubber Charms?  There are so many embellishments in this collection and these are some of my favourites.  I selected out the 2 bright pink charms and made sure they found a spot on my page, I love them so much.

A final close up of the divine typed sentiments from the Accessories Sticker Sheet Рone of the most popular items in the collection because they are so useful.  They are currently out of stock on the Cocoa Vanilla Studios website, however,  I have seen these at some of our stockists, so if you come across them, snap them up!  Of course, I have also finished the layout with some Wild at Heart enamel dots, and woodies from the Free Spirit collection.

I hope this inspires you to give scrap lifting a try, it’s a fun and easy way to create a layout. Don’t forget to sprinkle a little of your own style in too for a wonderful result.

Thanks for popping by

Hey everybody,
Ulli here with you today, bringing another big picture layout!
For this layout I used a photo of my daughter on her beloved balance bike. She has so much fun riding it! I used papers and embellishments from the wonderful Free Spirit collection, some pink and baby pink cardstock, a wood veneer title and some other embellishments from the new and amazing Wild At Heart collection.
My plan was to cut some rays out of the papers and line them up at an angle around my photo.
I ordered this picture in the size 20×30 cm (around 8×12″). This is the size I usually use for most of my big picture layouts.
First I lined up my photo to the left side. Then I cut 4 big rays from the wonderful Free Spirit Dreamy paper, some pink and baby pink cardstock. The ray on the left side I glued over the photo at an angle so the photo itself becomes a ray too. I always alternate cardstock and patterned paper for more contrast between the rays.
I stitched over all of the rays on the right side with my sewing machine and distressed the edges a little bit. I used 2 colours of thread (baby pink and aqua) to add more interest.
Then I cut a small pink triangle/ray for the left corner and stitched over that too.
I splattered a few drops of black and gold ink around my page.
For my title I used the beautiful wood veneer words from the Wild At Heart collection and placed them in the bottom right corner of my layout.
Then I wrote my journaling with a thin Edding marker directly on my photo.¬†First I drew some lines with the help of a set square, so that I could write straight. I¬†wrote some of¬†the journaling on the left and some of it on the right side of my daughter’s photo.
I decorated my layout with die cut ephemera from the Free Spirit collection. The bicycle matched my bike-themed layout perfectly! I also glued 2 aqua enamel hearts above it.
When I decorate a layout I always use embellishments in the same color or color palette as the cardstock and the patterned papers.
I used two of the wonderful rubber charms,¬†an aqua button and the “Sweet”¬†chipboard word from the Wild At Heart collection.
I added the ‚ÄěLove this‚Äú die cut, a woodie and a puffy heart¬†sticker from the Free Spirit collection.¬†I also used some¬†heart stickers from the Free Spirit¬†Accessory Sticker sheet and added some dimension with pop dots.
The paper flower is from the Endless Summer collection and it matched perfectly with the other two lines I used!
I also added some enamel dots on the rays and on a heart sticker from the Make A Wish collection .
To finish off my page I stamped the date with a roller stamp.
I hope you enjoyed my layout and my blog post! See you soon,

Hello. It’s Anna here with my next project created with “Wild at heart” collection. My focus for this week was vellum and rubber charms. I love using both of those products so it was an easy job ūüôā I created a layout inspired by¬†selfie with me and my sis. I used this funny app and added as a flowers wreaths.

We are still in denial that we crossed our thirties ūüėÄ We are young at heart and like messing around. I used this gorgeous paper with watercolor brush strokes as my background.

I used few small embellishments around my pictures like flowers from Ephemera Pack and rubber charms. I decided the picture doesn’t need much of embellishing because I created quite busy background.

I cut flowers both from vellum and another watercolor looking paper from Wild at heart collection. I shaped them adding some dimension and added woodies from previous collections (Free spirit, Hello sunshine) in the center.

I also used my sewing machine to create beams and leaves. It was such a fun thing to do and I love the effect.

I finished my composition adding few butterflies from chipboard stickers and ephemera pack.

I really like the effect and the flowers and I will definitely come back to this idea and create some other page.

I hope You feel inspired. Thank You for stopping by and see You in two weeks. I will have some mini¬†album for You ūüôā

XO Anna

Hi everyone,
Ulli here with you today sharing my second project on the Cocoa Vanilla Blog.
I made a new layout with the new and gorgeous Wild at Heart collection focusing on blue and mint tones. I used a new born photo¬†of our son. I can¬īt believe it, he was only 2 hours old in this picture!
I wanted to use two of the super cute rubber charms (Best Ever & You Make Me Happy). They are my favourite embellishments from this amazing collection!
First I¬†typed my journaling with my typewriter¬†at the bottom of a white cardstock. Then I placed my photo and the blue ‚ÄěHello‚Äú chipboard sticker for title¬†which I then¬†stitched over.
I¬†created my own die cut¬†embellishments (star, flower¬†& banner) with my Big Shot.¬†For these¬†I used the wonderful ‚ÄěMariposa‚Äú paper from the Wild at Heart collection.
The frangipani and the leaves, which I painted with water colours in blue and mint tones, I found in my stash. I stitched them onto the background paper with my sewing machine and used some glue dots to add some dimension to them.
I placed the rubber charm ‚ÄěYou make me happy‚Äú over them.
I backed my white cardstock with the cute ‚ÄěDouble Dot‚Äú paper so that¬†I get a cute border on the left side and on the top of my layout.
Then I placed the three small chipboard frames on my page and decorated them with a wooden heart, some die cut embellishments and a word sticker from the Wild at Heart collection.
Then I stitched¬†down the¬†‚ÄěBest Ever‚Äú¬†rubber charm and the banner¬†that I created on the top of my layout.
To finish off my page I added a woodie and a puffy sticker from the Free Spirit collection and enamel dots and stars from the Make a Wish collection.
I stamped the date at the bottom using a roller stamp.
I hope I could inspire you with my 8.5×11 layout. Thanks so much for joining me here today!
