Project Life Page 2-2017 | Hello Lovely | Ulrike Dold

Hello everybody,

Ulli here with you sharing a double page from my 2017 project life album. I made these with the absolutely gorgeous Hello Lovely collection. And you see that this collection can be also a perfect match with the season winter and with snow.

When I saw the colors from my photos, especially the photos with me and my floral winter jacket, I knew that I would need the Hello Lovely collection with all its pink, aqua and orange.

There is one paper in this collection which is perfect for project life. The paper “Lucky Dip” has one side with PL cards, some paper stripes, arrows and labels to cut out.

I first cut apart all the PL cards, paper strips and labels using a paper trimmer and a scissor. Then I sorted all my pictures and filled my 9×12 page protectors with them. I used only photos from our winter vacation in Austria and so it was easy to choose them. Then I filled some protectors with the Hello Lovely PL cards. Some of the photos I glued on white 3×4 cards which I made with white cardstock. I often use white cardstock to make my pages look bright.

Here you can see the left side from my page.

I typed my journaling on the Hello Lovely “Confetti” paper with the wooden pattern. Above I added some pink alphas from my stash.

I decorated the page with stickers from the accessory sticker sheet, ephemera pieces, enamel dots and a flair button.

Here is the right side of my double page.

Therefor I added two 3×4 PL cards and glued the first letters from the names of our kids with wooden alpha stickers from the Hello Lovely collection in the flourish circle. Then I glued a paper stripe under the black and white photo from them. I also used a flair button there.

One photo I decorated with the “lovely” banner and I used my stapler to secure the banner to my photo.

I glued my age with pink alphas from my stash under the photo from my birthday muffins and also an arrow from the “Lucky Dip” paper.

The big picture with the beautiful snowy landscape I decorated with a paper stripe and a flower die cut.

I stamped the date with a roller stamp next to some of the photos and splattered some gold paint over some of the PL cards.

I hope you like my PL page!

Thank you for stopping by today! See you soon, Ulli

Beautiful Life | Wild at Heart | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-07-13T05:34:50+00:00 July 26th, 2017|Design Team, Free Spirit, Inspiration, Wild at Heart, You ROCK|

Hello everyone,

Ulli here with you today sharing a new layout with you.

I am totally in summer mood and so I made a 8.5×11 layout with a photo from our kids in our vacation at Crete / Greece in May. They look so happy on this picture at the pool which I made with my smartphone.

I used the new and amazing free and summer themed cut files which you can find on the Cocoa Vanilla website. They are so cute and the waves are a perfect match to my photo.

In my photo there is so much navy and orange and so I first searched for some pretty Cocoa Vanilla papers which matches perfectly. I used the coral-white stripped paper “Fussy Cut” from the Wild at Heart collection and the “Starshine” paper from the new and awesome You Rock collection. Then I cut some waves with this papers and also with white cardstock.

I glued a coral wave on the top of the layout and stitched over it with my sewing machine. Then I glued 3 waves (in coral, navy and white) on the bottom of the layout and the picture behind the upper wave. I also stitched over every wave with my sewing machine and white sewing thread.

I splattered some gold and black paint across the page and placed the title above and under my photo. For the title I used the “Beautiful” Chipboard Sticker from the Wild at Heart collection and some white foam alphas from my stash. I placed a puffy heart sticker from the Free Spirit collection as the dot of the i.

After that I decorated my page with stickers and word stickers from the You Rock and the Wild at Heart collection and the puffy sticker “happy” from the Free Spirit collection. For some of the word stickers I used pop dots to add dimension.

I glued the “FAV” sticker from the Wild at Heart Accessory Sticker Sheet on the left side on the photo and a puffy sticker on the border from the picture.

To decorating the border with the wave above I used a circle sticker from the You Rock collection, an wooden shape anchor from the Endless Summer collection and a “&” woodie from the Free Spirit collection.

To finish off my page I stamped the date on my layout and decorated the whole page with enamel dots and a second woodie with a pineapple. This cute woodie is from the the free spirit collection.

I hope I could inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

You make me so happy | Hello Lovely | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-07-01T06:58:28+00:00 July 12th, 2017|Design Team, Endless Summer, Hello Lovely, Inspiration, Wild at Heart|

Hello everyone,

Ulli here with you today sharing a summer themed layout with you. In Germany we have summer right now and it feels so good!

For this layout I used a picture from my daughter with my beloved flamingo 🙂 in Greece/Crete from two months ago. Sometimes I am a little bit crazy – I really had to buy this pink pool animal for our vacation.

I am still so in love with the “Luscious” water color paper in pink and peach from the gorgeous “Wild at Heart” collection and used it as my background paper for my 12×12 layout.

I cut a circle cut file with lotus flowers with my Silhouette Portrait and used it as a frame for my photo. After cutting I glued the photo behind it and stitched around the frame with my sewing machine.

Then I cut out a sector of a big circle from white cardstock. Therefor I used the Party Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers – it has 3 different radiuses and I used the biggest one. After that I glued it on the bottom of my layout and stitched over the border.

I splattered some gold and black paint across the page and placed the frame with the photo on my page.

For the title I used the “You make me so happy” sticker from the “Hello Lovely” Accessory Sticker Sheet and glued it besides my photo. I love it to do titles with stickers. It is such an easy way – especially when you have no idea for a special title.  I used foam dots to add some dimension.

Then I glued Die Cut Embellishments and word stickers from the “Hello Lovely” and “Endless Summer” collections on the border from the white cardstock to the background paper. I also used foam dots from time to time. The pink Die Cut flamingo from the “Endless Summer” collection was a perfect match to my photo.

I punched a hibiscus flower and leaves with a Kesi´ art Die and my Sizzix Big Shot and used pink and mint cardstock for it. Then I glued it on the left side of my photo.

I also decorated my photo with a Die Cut Flower from the “Hello Lovely” collection and a paper flower from the “Endless summer” collection. The paper flowers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio are so very beautiful and I am a little bit sad, that I have used almost all of them up now.

After that I decorated my page with arrow stickers and word stickers from the “Hello Lovely” collection. To finish off my page I added the wood veneer “Summer” from the “Endless Summer” collection, the flair button “&” from the “Hello Lovely” collection and some enamel dots.

In the end I wrote the place and the month where and when the picture was taken besides the frame.

I hope you like my layout and I could inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Birthday invites | You Rock | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-06-07T05:45:07+00:00 June 26th, 2017|Cards, Tags and Mini Albums, Colour Me Happy, Design Team, You ROCK|

Hi everyone,

Ulli here with you today sharing a special project on the Cocoa Vanilla Blog.

Our little boy turned one at the end of may so I decided to make some birthday invites for his party. I focused on the blue, mint and grey tones in the „You Rock“ collection because I used a little blue whale as my theme.

First I cut out the whales with my Silhouette Portrait. For this I used the „Experimental“ paper from the „You Rock“ collection. I love this blue ombre paper! It is absolutely gorgeous!

Then I made some bows using a bow die and my Big Shot. I used different papers because I wanted to make every invite a little bit different. I used the papers „Night Sky“, „Random”, „This Way“ and „Stripped“.

I cut out 3.5 x 4.5 inch cards with the help of my paper trimmer. I used the grey side of the „In line“ paper and rounded the corners with my Crop-A-Dile corner chomper.

I splattered some black paint across the front side and added some mint washi tape from my stash to  the bottom of my cards.

I cut some other cards from mint cardstock for the backside of the invites. I typed the text on these cards using my typewriter, rounded the corners and glued them on the back of the grey cards.

Then I glued the bows below the text.

I decorated the front of the invites with stickers, word stickers and enamel shapes from the „You Rock“ collection. I also added a number 1 to each of these, for which I used different foam and chipboard alphas from my stash.

I hope I could inspire you with my quick and easy birthday invites. Thanks so much for joining me here today!

Hello Baby Boy | You Rock | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-06-07T05:02:49+00:00 June 12th, 2017|Design Team, Endless Summer, Inspiration, You ROCK|

Hello everyone,

Ulli here with you today sharing a new layout.

We have Scraplift Week on the Cocoa Vanilla Blog this week and I want to show you what I created with the gorgeous „You Rock“ collection.

I lifted a layout from a former Design Team member, the talented Tarrah McLean. The layout „@ the beach“, which she made with the beautiful „Endless Summer“ collection, is so adorable!

I love the circles and this multi circle design works wonderfully with all the circle embellishments from the „You Rock“ collection too.

I used two photos instead of one because they are from the same series and are similar. I glued them on white cardstock to have a thin white border around them. Then I glued them on the cardstock.

I cut off a strip from the „Stripped“ paper and placed it on the left side of the white cardstock. I added one of the amazing washi tape stickers and the „You Rock“ die cut ephemera on this paper strip.

I splattered some gold and black paint across the page. I picked out some papers from the „You Rock“ collection and using my circle punch I made a few circles. I stitched them down onto my layout with my sewing machine.

Then I made a banner using some stickers and a chipboard arrow from the chipboard stickers. I used foam squares to add dimension to the banner and then I sewed over it.

I added some more circles to my layout from the „You Rock“ ephemera pack and the sticker sheet.

For the title „Hello Baby Boy“ I mixed and matched some alphas: I used the wood veneer word „Hello”, some black foam alphas from my stash („Baby“) and the „Boy“ chipboard sticker from the „You Rock“ collection.

I added some word stickers and one rubber charm below the photos and a wood veneer cloud and a cloud-button from the „Endless summer“ collection.

I stamped the date with a roller date stamp on the layout. I didn’t need to add lots of journaling.

To finish off my page I added some woodies from the „Endless Summer“ collection, some die cut ephemera from the „You Rock“ collection and some enamel dots and enamel shapes from the „Colour me happy“ and the „You Rock“ collections.

I hope you had fun reading my post and you like my scraplift layout. Thanks for stopping by today.

Honeymoon | Endless Summer | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-04-30T04:50:28+00:00 May 26th, 2017|Design Team, Endless Summer, Inspiration, Wild at Heart|

Hello everyone,

Ulli here with you today sharing a new layout with you. We went on vacation to Crete, Greece earlier this month and I am still totally in summer mood! It was such a beautiful first vacation as a family of 4! Because of this I wanted to share a summery layout today.

I decided to make a page of our honeymoon with the Cocoa Vanilla Endless Summer collection. I love this picture of me and my husband. We took it at Lovina Beach in Bali on the second day of our honeymoon. We often take advantage of the sunrise and the first sunbeams for some photos. You have to get up very early but the magical light is worth it. Because of the soft colors in the picture I thought the wonderful Endless Summer collection would be a perfect match!

I used a hibiscus cut file from the Silhouette design store. I backed the blossom with the beautiful “Luscious” watercolor paper from the Wild at Heart collection and the leaves with the white and mint striped “Coastal Chill” paper from the Endless Summer collection.

Then I placed the photo on my layout and glued the hibiscus blossom on the left side of my white 12×12 cardstock. I cut a triangle from the other side of the “Coastal Chill” paper which has this gorgeous hibiscus flower pattern, and attached it to the top left corner.

I splattered some gold and black paint across the page and placed the title above my photo. For this I used the alpha sticker sheet from the Free Spirit collection and some white foam alpha stickers from my stash.

After that I decorated my page with a hibiscus die cut from the Endless Summer Die Cut Ephemera and a paper flower from the Endless Summer collection. I also used the amazing „Oh Yeah“ flair button from the same collection and glued it on the big hibiscus flower.

I placed a word sticker below the title and three more on the hibiscus blossom. They are from the stunning Wild at Heart collection and from the Free Spirit collection. I used pop dots to add some dimension. I glued the „perfect“ sticker from the Wild at Heart collection on the right bottom side of my photo and a heart sticker from the Free Spirit sticker sheet with a glue dot on the left side.

Then I added a mint chipboard sticker (You make my heart sing) and a word sticker from the Wild at Heart collection to the triangle with the hibiscus flowers. I also glued two wood veneer hearts from the Wild at Heart collection in this corner. I stamped the date on the layout with a roller stamp and wrote by hand where the picture was taken.

To finish off my page I added some sparkling sequins and enamel dots from the Make a Wish and the Endless Summer collections.

I also used two of the cute woodies from the Free Spirit collection. The woodies are always my favorite embellishments from the Cocoa Vanilla collections. They are so adorable and they are always an eye catcher!

I hope I could inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

MOM | Free Spirit | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-04-28T21:38:58+00:00 May 12th, 2017|Cut Files, Design Team, Free Spirit, Inspiration, Make A Wish, Wild at Heart|

Hello everyone,

Ulli here with you today sharing a Mother´s day themed layout.

I wanted to create a layout which is a love letter from me to my little girl. I wrote a long journaling which I addressed to her. The journaling is about how Lina came to us and made me a mom. I wrote about holding the positive pregnancy test in my hands, my wonderful and exciting pregnancy, hearing her heartbeat for the first time, her first kick…I love her so much and I am so happy to have her in my life. I chose 3 photos from different stages of my pregnancy and another photo that was taken directly after the birth.

I picked “Mom” for my title and decided to create a big title using different patterned papers.

I mostly used the Free Spirit collection and also some embellishments from the new Wild at Heart collection and the Make a Wish collection.

I wanted to divide my 12×12 cardstock into three sections: photos at the top, long journaling in the middle and big title at the bottom.

First I typed up my journaling on a white cardstock using my typewriter. I had to start over three times because I made some typos. It is not easy to type such a long text on a layout without making mistakes!

Then I arranged the four photos at the top. I layered the amazing floral cut file from Cocoa Vanilla Studio behind some of the photos. I framed the first photo on the left side with a chipboard frame from the gorgeous Wild at Heart collection.

Then I cut out the word MOM from three different patterned papers from the Free Spirit collection. I used both sides of the „Wildflowers“ paper and for the third I picked the „Dreamy“ paper. I used some big gold letters from my stash as template and cut them out with my scissors. Then I adhered  them to the bottom of the 12×12 sheet.

Now I could start embellishing the layout. I splattered some gold and black paint across the page and decorated the photos with some of the die cut ephemera from the Free Spirit collection. I popped up two die cuts using glue dots to give them some dimension.

I also used a paper flower from the Endless Summer collection, the XOXO flair button, a woodie from the Free Spirit collection and an enamel star from the Make a Wish collection. I used the wood veneer word Love from the Wild at Heart collection and placed it on the bottom of two photos on the right side.

I added some die cuts from the Free Spirit collection (Precious and Our Story) to my big title, as well as a wooden heart from the Wild At Heart collection and some enamel shapes in different colors from the Make a Wish collection.

I hope you like my layout and had fun reading my post!

Till next time,

Ulli
