Hi everyone! It’s Mandy here today, and I have a fun layout to share with you that I created using the totally gorgeous Wild at Heart collection! I just love the beautiful colours in this collection, and it’s so perfect for scrapbooking photos of my girls!

This week on the blog we are all sharing layouts that feature multiple photos! Here’s the page that I created:

How super cute are these photos of my two girls! My eldest daughter Abigail recently downloaded an app that puts filters on your photos similar to the ones on snapchat, and she had fun taking some photos with her younger sister, Eleanor. I absolutely love the photos, and of course I had to scrapbook them!

I used the beautiful Artisan patterned paper for my background. I’ve already used this same paper as a background once before, but I just keep coming back to it because I love it so much! I think it made a fun background for these photos! I also added a strip of the Patchwork (reverse side) patterned paper on the left hand side of the page. I stuck it down slightly crooked which added to the fun and carefree feel of the layout.

I fussy cut the word ‘love’ out of the Fussy Cuts patterned paper, and I used this as the title for my layout. I added some foam tape underneath the word which gave it some extra height and dimension.

I created a cluster to the left of the photo that includes a chipboard frame, a couple of die cuts from the ephemera pack, as well as a wood veneer star from the You ROCK collection. To add some extra interest and dimension to the cluster, I layered everything at different heights.

I matted the photo on the right with the Grow Wild (reverse side) patterned paper and then tucked a tab from the accessory sticker sheet underneath the right hand side of the photo. I also added another You ROCK’ wood veneer star to the right of the photos. I think these stars really added a fun element to the page!

To finish the layout off I added a couple more die cut stars and another wood veneer star to the layout, as well as some little phrase stickers from the accessory sticker sheet, and a few sparkly enamel dots.

Thanks so much for joining me here on the blog today! I hope that you’ve been inspired! Stick around this week for lots more multi-photo layout inspiration from the design team!

Hi Cocoa Vanilla Studio fans!

Mandy here with you today to share a layout that I created using the fabulous ‘You ROCK‘ collection! I can’t get enough of the awesome colours in this collection, and I really can’t go past ‘You ROCK’ for documenting photos of my son, Isaac!

Here’s the page that I created…

My layout features a photo of Isaac with our kitten Sasha. We’ve had her for about 7 months now, and I love seeing how much Isaac cares for her! They are so sweet together!

I used the Experimental patterned paper as the background for my layout. I LOVE the artsy / mixed media look that this gives to the page, without having to do any of the work! Lucky I have more than one sheet of this patterned paper, because I also matted my photo with the reverse side of this paper!

I decided to use pieces from the Random cut apart sheet as the main design element on this page. I cut them up and then laid them across the page to create a mat for my photo to sit on. I made sure that they were all a little crooked and not lined up, to give them more of a random look. I also curled up the corners of the cards a little to give them some extra dimension, rather than them just sitting flat on the page.

How awesome are the Cocoa Vanilla rubber charms?! I used the rubber tag on this page, which I tucked under the left hand side of the photo. I also tied a little bit of cotton twine to the tag to finish it off. On top of the tag I added a star which I fussy cut from the Starshine patterned paper.

I can’t go past the wood veneer shapes in this collection, and I love that ‘You Rock’ piece! It made the perfect title for this page! I added some small pieces of foam tape underneath to lift it up and give it some extra dimension, and I love how this makes it really pop off the page!

To the right of the title I added a label sticker, which I stamped the date onto, as well as an arrow chipboard sticker. I added my journaling underneath the title, and then added a few more embellishments in the bottom right hand corner of the page. This little cluster includes another chipboard sticker, as well as another fussy cut star from the Starshine patterned paper.

I finished the layout off with some more stars… a few of the wood veneer ones, more fussy cut ones, as well as a little chipboard one. This adds interest to the layout by using different colours and textures, as well as cohesiveness, by repeating the same shape throughout the layout.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! I’ll be back later in the month with another project to share with you! See you then!

Summer | Endless Summer | Mandy Melville

By | 2017-07-15T08:56:30+00:00 July 15th, 2017|Design Team, Endless Summer, Inspiration|

Hi friends!

Mandy here with you today! Who else is loving all of the gorgeous ‘summer’ inspiration here on the blog this week?! It’s so nice to reminisce about the lovely warm days of summer while it’s the middle of winter here in Australia! Today I’m sharing my summer themed layout with you, featuring the beautiful ‘Endless Summer‘ collection!

I documented a super cute photo of my youngest daughter and my nephew, taken last summer when they were enjoying an ice cream together. These two are so adorable, and they love each other so much! Of course I take every opportunity I can to snap photos of them together!

I used one of the FREE summer cut files that are available to download from the Cocoa Vanilla store!

How awesome are these?! I decided to use the word ‘summer’, and I resized it to create a large title for my layout. I cut it out of my white cardstock background using my Cameo, and then I backed it with the sunbleached patterned paper. I love the wow factor that a large title like this makes on a layout!

I matted my photo with the reverse side of the sweet treats patterned paper, and then I popped some foam tape underneath the photo to give it some extra dimension. I love fussy cutting floral patterned papers, and the Aloha Sunshine paper is just perfect for this! I fussy cut two large floral clusters and tucked one under each side of the photo. I love how this looks with the flowers coming out from behind the photo! Up in the top right hand corner of the layout I added a couple of die cuts from the collection, as well as a cute little woodie button.

On the bottom left hand corner of the photo I added one of the cute puffy stickers from the collection, and I popped another woodie button there as well.

At the bottom of the page I added a banner sticker, which I adhered using foam tape to give it some extra dimension. I added a third woodie here as well, which creates a visual triangle with the other two. I love these cute little wooden buttons! I added my typed journaling underneath the title, and then I finished the layout off with a couple of little heart stickers, some enamel shapes, and lastly some gold ink splatters.

I also have a process video for this layout if you’d like to check it out.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today!

Beautiful | Wild at Heart | Mandy Melville

By | 2017-06-28T21:09:40+00:00 July 1st, 2017|Design Team, Inspiration, Wild at Heart|

Hi everyone!

Mandy here, and today I’m sharing a new layout that I created using the STUNNING ‘Wild at Heart‘ collection! I’m still crushing on the beautiful florals in this collection, and so I wanted to create a layout featuring these!

I documented a photo of my eldest daughter Abigail & I. We recently enjoyed a fun girls weekend away together, and of course we took lots of selfies to remember our little getaway! On the first morning we went for a walk down to the beach to enjoy the sunshine, and this was when we took this photo. Of course I wanted to scrap it straight away!

I used the reverse side of the lovely Artisan patterned paper as the background for my layout. I also added a strip of the Double Dot paper down the middle of the layout, with a thin strip of the reverse side of the Patchwork patterned paper tucked under both sides to give it some definition from the background.

I matted my photo with the reverse side of the Luscious paper, and then layered two of the beautiful chipboard frames from the collection underneath the photo. I love the dimension that this creates! I couldn’t go past the ‘beautiful’ chipboard sticker as the title for my layout, and it fit perfectly sitting just above the photo! You can also see here that I added a little tab sticker on the top left hand corner of the photo.

I had so much fun fussy cutting those gorgeous florals on the beautiful Luscious patterned paper! I might be strange I know, but I actually find it quite therapeutic! And I absolutely love the end result, so I think it’s worth the effort! I arranged them under the bottom edge of the photo to create a base of sorts for the photo to sit on. I like how they also frame the bottom half of the photo nicely. I made sure that I only added glue to the centre of the flowers as I wanted the leaves to lift off the page which gives the floral clusters dimension and movement.

There was some negative space on the left hand side of my photo, so I stuck a chipboard butterfly there, and then added the little ‘happy’ die cut just above that. I also cut the word ‘together’ out of the Fussy Cuts patterned paper, and tucked it under the bottom edge of the photo.

I finished the layout off with a couple of die cut butterflies and some pretty enamel dots.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! I’ll be back later in the month to share another project with you.

Hello Mr Rad | You ROCK | Mandy Melville

By | 2017-06-12T21:32:33+00:00 June 15th, 2017|Design Team, Inspiration, You ROCK|

Hi everyone! Mandy here with you today to share a new layout using the awesome ‘You ROCK‘ collection! Who’s been enjoying ‘Scraplift Week’ on the blog this week? I am loving seeing how the design team members have been scraplifting each other’s layouts! I chose to lift a fabulous layout by the talented Sue Plumb. I was inspired by the grid design of her layout.

Here’s my page…

And here is Sue’s layout…

You can read more about Sue’s layout on her blog.

I chose to scrapbook a photo of my son, taken when I took the kids to a local reserve a couple of months ago. I love seeing how much Isaac enjoys the great outdoors, and it was the perfect opportunity to snap a pic of him while he was in his element!

I started my layout off by matting my white cardstock background on the B side of the Starshine patterned paper, and adding some machine stitching around the edge of the page.

Then I was ready to start putting bits and pieces together to form the grid. I used some of the pieces from the Random cut apart sheet, as well as the B side of that paper, and the Stripped and Night Sky patterned papers. As I was choosing what I would add to the grid, I kept in mind that I wanted a blue, black and wood grain colour combination, so I pulled out anything in these colours.

I added a little bit of embellishing to some of the sections in the grid. Here you can see that I added a chipboard star to one piece, and a rubber charm to another. These rubber charms are one of my favourite things in this collection!

How ‘awesome’ are all of the pieces on the cut apart sheet? They made putting this kind of layout together a breeze!

I matted my photo with the B side of the Galactic patterned paper, and then added some foam tape underneath to lift it up and give it some extra dimension. I then popped one of the super cool flair buttons on the right hand side of the photo. I added my date to one of the labels off the accessory sticker sheetand then adhered that to one of the sections in the grid.

I added some foam tape underneath the circular die-cut piece that says ‘Rad’ to give it some extra height. The last piece of the grid to embellish was the strip along the bottom of the page, and I added a chipboard arrow to this section.

To finish the layout off I added a few of the little phrase stickers from the accessory sticker sheet around the page, and lastly I added some black ink splatters and a few enamel shapes.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! I had so much fun scraplifting Sue’s layout! Maybe you’ve been inspired by her layout too, and could try your own scraplift!

Awesome | You ROCK | Mandy Melville

By | 2017-05-30T00:16:59+00:00 June 1st, 2017|Design Team, Inspiration, You ROCK|

Hi friends! Mandy here with you today to share another layout that I created using the fabulous ‘You ROCK‘ collection! I’m absolutely loving the bright and bold colours in this collection!

I took this photo of my son on Easter Sunday last month, and I just love that it captures his happy personality! (Of course it probably helped that he’d just collected basket full of chocolate Easter Eggs!)

I really wanted to feature some of the gorgeous patterned papers in the collection on this page, so picked a handful of them that complemented my photo, and then cut them up into strips of various widths and lengths. Most of the patterns that I used are from the Stripped patterned paper, and I also used Night Sky and In Line (B side). I arranged the strips of paper down the page and then used my sewing machine to stitch them onto the page.

I can’t get enough of the wood veneer shapes in this collection! I used the word ‘Awesome’ as the title for my page and painted it with black ink to really make it pop! I added a chipboard sticker underneath my title, and one of the fabulous rubber charms to the right. I popped another one of the rubber charms on the top right hand corner of the photo. They are so soft and beautiful!

I matted my photo with the Plus One (B side) patterned paper, and then added some foam tape underneath to give it some extra height and dimension. On the left hand side of the photo I added a wood veneer star. I also added two chipboard arrows to the left of the photo, which help to draw the viewer’s eye towards the photo.

I added a third point of interest at the bottom of the page to complete the visual triangle. I adhered a strip of washi tape, and then on top of that I added a camera which I fussy cut from the Random patterned paper. I also added another wood veneer star.

I finished the layout off by adding some accessory stickers and die cuts around the page, as well as a scattering of enamel dots.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! I’ll be back later in the month with another project to share with you!

Hi friends!

This week on the blog the design team are going to be sharing some AWESOME masculine themed projects with you! I’m kicking it off today with a layout that I created using the fantastic new ‘You ROCK’ collection!

Here’s my page…

I documented a recent photo of my son, and I really just wanted this layout to celebrate how awesome I think he is! With all of the amazing embellishments in this collection, it was so easy to do just that!

I started my layout off by covering the top half of the page with the Plus One patterned paper, and then adding a piece of the Stripped patterned paper across the middle of the layout.

I matted my photo with the Galactic patterned paper and then adhered it towards the left hand side of the page. I used one of the awesome wood veneer pieces from the collection as the title for my layout, and painted it with yellow acrylic paint. I love how this really helps it to pop off the page! I also added a chipboard star on top of the title to give it some extra detail.

I created an embellishment cluster to the left of the photo that includes a couple of chipboard stickers, a sticker, and a little die cut arrow. I really love the selection of embellishments in this collection, and how easy it is to create fun embellishment clusters!

I created another little cluster down in the bottom right hand corner of the page. Once again I used a combination of ephemera, stickers, and chipboard. How gorgeous and vibrant are the colours in this collection!!

I finished the layout off by adding my journaling, and a few of the enamel shapes.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! I hope that you’ve been inspired to scrap a ‘boy’ layout too!
