Hello Everyone and a big welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog.

How are you enjoying PINK or BLUE week? If your just stopping in for the first time this week the DT girls are all having fun showing what you can do with the new Bohemian Dream collection in the colours pink or blue.

I have chosen to play along and have chosen the colour blue to drive my layout. I think what this week has shown us so far that either pink or blue can create stunning and beautiful gender mixed layouts and that my lovely scrapper means that Bohemian Dream is one pretty cool collection.

Click HERE to shop the new Bohemian Dream collection.

In this layout I have used a cut file to be my main feature. This cut file works particularly well with the colour combination featured in this collection. It magically brings together colours that traditionally you would think wouldn’t work together and transforms the layout into something beautiful.

Another fabulous product in this collection is the vellum accents.Oh gosh, they are just lovely and give a lovely effect slightly different from the traditional ephemera pieces. Don’t get me wrong the die cut ephemera is amazing also.

See what I mean! Look at that vellum flower cluster.. so pretty!!

So can you see where I have used blue? Background, in my cut file, backing my photo and in my vellum flower cluster.

So tell me.. are you a pink scrapper or a blue scrapper at heart?

Another fun product in this collection I love is the flair buttons . CVS flairs are always amazing and create a little something special on you layout. In this collection you can purchase the buttons in a set of six.

Love Love Love them!!

Check out my process video below and see how this colourful layout came together.

I hope my layout has inspired you to get out scrapping supplies and create a pink or blue layout.

Happy Scrapping,

Giselle | Bohemian Dream | Lauren Hender

By | 2017-10-31T11:05:39+00:00 November 2nd, 2017|Bohemian Dream, Design Team, Inspiration|

Hello Everyone.

Welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog.

Today I am sharing with you a beautiful layout of my daughter using the new release Bohemian Dream collection.

This photo highlights a special 1st in my little Katie’s life. Katie saw a beautiful performance by the Australian Ballet Company telling the story of Giselle. It was so lovely to watch her facial expressions throughout the performance. All the dancers were exquisite and quite literally took my breath away.

When putting this layout together I really wanted to capture some of the magic and feel of the night in the layout.

The Bohemian Dream collection was able to help me do that with it’s beautiful soft colours and the incorporation of butterflies, flowers and leaves.

In this layout I have used the 6×6 inch paper pad, 12×12 patterned paper, the ephemera pack, accessory stickers, enamel shapes and a stunning flair.

All these items are no in the Cocoa Vanilla Studio store for you to purchase directly or from your local retailer.

I really love the 6×6 inch paper pad.

In this layout I have used it to double mount my photo and to make cute stitched scollop features on my layout. By using the 6×6 paper pad I not only have the entire collection but when I make a little feature I am not cutting into a 12×12 inch piece of paper.

The other sweet piece in this collection that I adore and can’t get enough of is the enamel shapes. Did you check out those cute tiny hearts? Well that’s them. I believe they are like the cherry on top of the cake. The final piece that makes it all come together.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout today and it has inspired you to run to your crafty space.

Catch you again soon.

Born to Shine | Bohemian Dream | Lauren Hender

Hello Everyone

Welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog

Today I am sharing with you a beautiful layout of my little dancing dolly using the new release collection Bohemian Dream.

This collection is just stunning with it’s beautiful pastel colours predominately featuring a stunning purple.

In this layout I have used lots of the beautiful new products.

This included chipboard titles, 6×6 inch pad, cardstock, stamps, die cut ephemera, accessory stickers and enamel shapes.

Have you picked your favourite product in the collection or are you like me and need to have it all?

I have a treat for you today. I have created a process video for this layout.

I am really new to the process video thing but I am enjoying learning and being creative with video editing.

This layout came together beginning with the background of watercolour. I just love using watercolours to help build a unique one of a kind background.

I then layered up my photo with a piece from the 6×6 paper pad and some tissue paper.

I then wanted to add a block of pattered cardstock so that I would have an area to feature my title.

The fun did not stop there.. I then added all the little features to make it come together. This included a little touch of stamping, some flower clusters and some simple but stunning fussy cut butterflies.

Oh .. and my favourite the tiny enamel shape heart. Oh they are just the cutest an add the perfect fishing touch onto the layout.

I hope my layout has inspired you to get creative and head to your local supplier for the new Bohemian Dream collection.

Always Shine | Free Spirit | Lauren Hender

By | 2017-09-30T22:05:49+00:00 October 2nd, 2017|Free Spirit|

Hello everyone and a BIG welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog.

I know you are all going crazy about the new Bohemian Dream collection hitting stores well the exciting news is that the Desgin Team now are busy creating with it to provide you with lots of inspiration. BUT..before all that happens I want to share with you a sweet layout using the stunning Free Spirit collection.

This layout is of me and my handsome hubby in New Zealand. Our first overseas holiday together and we loved every minute.

When creating this layout I really wanted to make sure the photo popped off the page. That is where the idea of the two diamond borders came to mind. By doing this I was able to highlight the photo and the title ‘Always Shine’.

I began this layout by applying a light coat of watercolor to the page. I just wanted to soften the edges a little and achieve a bit of a transition from the cardstock to the cluster of embellishments.

Starting with two doilies I then mounted one of the cut aparts cards and my photo underneath two frames from the ephemera pack. Just these few simple steps left me thinking ‘oh yeah this is coming together’.

Now for the fun part… putting all the embellishments on.

I began with the title using a puffy word sticker and an ephemera piece. I then added clusters to the left and right side of the doilies and top and bottom between the frames.

So lets go shopping..

Free Spirit Die Cut Ephemera

Free Spirit Accessory Stickers

Free Spirit Wood Veneers

Free Spirit Flair Buttons

Free Spirit Enamel Shapes

I hope my layout has inspired you to be creative.

Incredibly Priceless | CVS Collection Mix | Lauren Hender

By | 2017-09-16T09:43:44+00:00 September 16th, 2017|Colour Me Happy|

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog.

Today I am sharing a layout using a mix of some of the Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections.

Can you name some or all of the collections I’ve used?

Sometimes when I’m walking up to bed I check on my babies. Making sure they are warm and sleeping peacefully. It really is a selfish act as when I look at their sleeping faces my heart swells. I feel so blessed to be their mother and I pray everyday that they have full and wonderful lives.

I wasn’t sure how this layout would come together. To be honest I sat there just playing around with some papers, pulling out some embellishments and just fussy cutting some butterflies. I looked the photo of my daughter sleeping and thought how incredibly beautiful she was. As soon as I said that to myself I knew the perfect title and the layout ideas began to flow.

Have you worked out all the collections I have used?

Ok, here they are…

Wild At Heart

Cardstock and Flairs

Love Always

Cardstock Stickers

Colour Me Happy

Enamel Dots

I hope my layout has inspired you to pull out all those bits and pieces from different collections and have some fun putting it all together.

Basketball Forever | You Rock | Lauren Hender

By | 2017-09-02T13:33:41+00:00 September 2nd, 2017|You ROCK|

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog. I know you are all so excited about the new release Bohemian Dream heading to your local retailers but I just want to celebrate our boys just one more time.

The YOU ROCK collection would have to be one of my fav’s in the CVS collection family because it not only caters for our little boys but our big boys also.

The project I have to share with you today is highlighting my Mr 13..

He loves basketball. When he is not playing he is in the front yard practicing and refining his skills.

Today I am sharing with you a peek of my current travellers notebook.

These pages celebrate my son’s 2017 rep basketball final win.

I just love the connection these boys have created over this season. All of them growing up into fine young men.

I knew I wanted to use four photos but was limited in space for journaling and embellishing. So I decided to add a little flip page in the centre.

I created this with patterned papers and some washi tape strips. I wanted to reinforce the page so I added the white scolloped card to either side, applied some watercolour paint and used a large wood veneer piece to reinforce it further.

I then added my photos and using washi tape strips I added accents to the tops and bottoms of the photos. This helped boarder the photos and added features to the photos on the page.

I then added some white alpha stickers to create a subtle but present feature title. Using the white on the B&W photos meant that the title did not take away from the photos.

I then added some doodling and journalling with a fine point pen. This was lots of fun and I had some fun just free styling with it.

So lets go shopping….

Night Sky Cardstock

Stripped Cardstock

Accessory Stickers

Enamel Shapes

Wood Veneer Shapes

Washi tape stickers

Ephemera Pack

I hope that I have further inspired you to create something special for the boys and men in your lives.

Happy Scrappin

Journey | Wild At Heart | Lauren Hender

By | 2017-08-15T21:31:50+00:00 August 16th, 2017|Chit Chat, Wild at Heart|

Hello wonderful creatives,

Welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog. If you have stopped by the last few days you will have noticed that the design team and I have been having a wonderful time using multiple photos on our layouts. For me this was a little challenging as I am usually a 1 photo per layout kinda girl, but when playing around it all came together.

Are you a one pic per layout scrapper or do you enjoy adding a few more photos on your layouts?

To create this layout I have used the stunning Wild At Heart collection.

This collection is full of stunning warm colours and beautiful florals.

To create this layout I firstly mounted my three photographs and layered some vellum behind them.

I used frames and cardstock to add a few extra layers here and there to help add some dimension.

Then the fun began when I added all the lovely embellishments. This included ephemera , Wood veneer words , flair buttons and chipboard frames.

I admit I am not a big journaling girl but their are times you have an easy story. I recently visited my birth town, a town I have no memory of. I visited the hospital I was born in and the first home I ever lived.

I filled some gaps in my journey and it filled my heart.

So it’s time to challenge yourself.. pull out your photos and see how many photos you can create on a single layout..

And if your up to it, scrap your journey.. where were you born, where have you lived. Ask some questions of the knowledge holders in your family and fill the gaps in your journey.

Hope your week is wonderful. Make sure you check in each day and be inspired by the other DT girls multi pic layouts.
