Happy Easter and a big thank you for stopping in to the Cocoa Vanilla blog on this special day. I hope you are all surrounded by loved ones and if that is not possible you are tucked away scrapbooking something memorable.

While I was flicking through some photos earlier this week I came across this photo of my two adorable children on Easter in 2012. I couldn’t be more delighted to see this photo and compare how they have changed over the last five years.

This layout is 98% Wild at Heart, 1% Colour Me Happy and 1% Hello Lovely. That’s the beauty about all Cocoa Vanilla Studio ranges they all in some way coordinate. Shopping these collections is simple today.. just click HERE

This beautiful marble paper is perfect for an Easter layout. There is something about those magical swirls that make me wish they were on an egg.

In this layout I used some watered down white paint and pink to blend some of the patterned paper to soften it and draw the attention to the my photo. I then used a range of Wild at Heart patterned paper and layered them behind the photo using some foam and standard double sided tape.

I then added the areas of clustered embellishments around the photo. This is really the fun part. When your patterned paper is very busy you need to add lots of featured sections around you photo so that the photo really pops. This is what I hoped to achieve with balance and ensuring that I don’t take away from the photo.

I then added the chipboard title, some enamel dots and my journaling.

I showed my children the layout and they loved it. They laughed and giggled at how different they looked and the fun memories they had that Easter.

Thanks again for stopping by.. I’m off to have a fresh hot cross bun & a cup of tea.

Hello Lovely | Wild at Heart | Lauren Hender

By | 2017-04-01T18:27:08+00:00 April 2nd, 2017|Wild at Heart|

I love beautiful things, I love having them around me and I especially love scrapbooking with them. This is why I am over the heels in love with a the Wild at Heart collection.

Welcome back to the blog! Today I am sharing layout using some of the blue tones in the Wild at Heart collection.

Did you know that you can purchase the Wild at Heart collection directly from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio website!

All you have to do is click HERE

In this layout I have used a mix of the Wild at Heart chip board stickers, cardstock, ephemera, and a perfect flair. I predominately used all the embellishments that included blue tones. I thought they matched the photo perfectly with Katies and my matching hats.

To create this layout I began by using a stencil with some white texture paste. This added some contrast to the page without taking away form the photo or the scrapbooking products I placed on top. I then double mounted my photo using some Wild at Heart cardstock. I placed a white doily behind the mounted photo and cut some frames and ephemera pieces behind the photo. At this point my main cluster is coming together. I then added the flower at the top of the photo and adhered it to the page.

I then created a cluster at the bottom of the photo and added a few floating embellishments around. The next important step was to journal on my layout. I used a typewriter to add a vintage but funky feel and tied it in with a ‘xoxoxo’ sentiment in the bottom cluster. To adhere the journaling I cut it into strips and applied them in order using double sided tape.

I hope my layout has inspired you to get creative with the Wild at Heart collection.

See you again soon.

Hello Heart | Wild At Heart | Lauren Hender

By | 2017-03-15T11:04:13+00:00 March 16th, 2017|Design Team, Inspiration, Wild at Heart|

Hello everyone! I hope you all feeling fabulous and in this busy world finding sometime to get creative. Today I am sharing with you a layout using the beautiful Wild at Heart Collection.

This layout celebrates a captured moment of my little girl and her most treasured little puppy. I love candid moments that are captured and no one else but myself knows about them.

In this layout I used watercolour paints to create a background of flowers. Don’t laugh but I originally set out to try and match the flowers featured in the Wild at Heart Collection but as I travelled along it was clear that my artistic skill was not found in watercolour painting. Even though the background didn’t turn out as I hoped it all came together wonderfully in the end.

In this layout I used the Wild at Heart patterned paper to place a strip along the bottom of the page and to mount my photo.

I then mounted the photo using foam so it slightly popped off the page. The string was an after thought that was easily applied as I just slid it underneath the photo and through the sections that were not mounted with the foam.

I then added some wood veneers, and ephemera pieces to build the layout. This was so much fun. There is so much in the ephemera pack its almost hard to stop adding it on.

I then added some of the Wild at Heart rubber charms. Oh my goodness, these are cuteness overload and you will just love them. I then added a perfect flair and some journaling using a typewriter which made it all come together.

I hope my layout has inspired you to get creative.

Wildflowers | Wild At Heart | Lauren Hender

Hello creative people!!

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my recent layout using the stunning Wild At Heart collection.

In this layout I tried to capture a little of my daughters personality. She is a little crazy and free spirted and I wanted to try to give that effect using the ephemera pieces.

The ephemera pack is amazing value consisting of 60, YES 60 stunning pieces. It hold a variety of titles, frames, flowers, flowers and much more all ready to enhance your project.

To build this layout I used a 2×6 inch photo and mounted behind it two small pieces of patterned paper.

I then added three frames from the frame set available for purchase in the range.

I then added the flowers & butterflies trying to make sure that I kept it wider at the bottom moving to a point at the top.

I made sure that I only placed adhesive on the centre of the butterflies to ensure that the wings pop out a little once the page was complete. I think it gives the layout a little dimension.

Isn’t she just adorable! I can’t believe that I made her.. I’m clever.

Ok, I will stop bragging now lol.

Next I added some titles. This included the large ‘this makes me happy’ right up to the ‘she belongs with the wildflowers’.

I then finished off with adding a few stickers, some sparkly enamel dots and a splash of white spray.

I hope you have been inspired by my layout. I can’t recommend enough the amazing Wild At Heart ephemera pack!

Planner Prep | Wild At Heart | Lauren Hender

By | 2017-02-15T13:46:23+00:00 February 16th, 2017|Design Team, Inspiration, Planners and Journals, Wild at Heart|

Hello wonderful creative people. Welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog.

Today I am sharing some Wild At Heart collection planner pages I created for my upcoming month of March.

Over the next few weeks my personal and work life is going into overdrive and I did not want to neglect my planner.

So I got a head start.

The brand new Wild At Heart Collection is exquisite with a blend of rich colours and textures perfect for all occasions.

It took me no time at all to make stunning planner pages using the patterned papers, frames, enamel glitter dots, stickers and ephemera.

To make this title page I used the ‘fussy cuts’ cardstock and chipboard frame. I then fussy cuts some butterflies from the Mariposa cardstock. I know fussy cutting is time consuming but it’s worth it to have perfection fluttering around your planner. I then accented using some ephemera and some glitter dots.

The ‘fussy cuts’ cardstock have some wonderful journaling pieces. These will be perfect to jot down some appointments and things to do. I added some sweetness with the ‘patchwork’ cardstock and sticker sheet. I left spaces for journaling, some photo snaps and a few more pretties.

I used some rose gold clips to pin down my list and journaling pieces. This allowed me to get ahead even though I haven’t entered my schedule into my planner yet.

How absolutely adorable is the ephemera bow!

Using a simple pocket and some tags I added some reminder spaces and also a place to keep March’s important receipts.

I adhered this section so it flips up so I have more places to write.

I hope my planner has inspired you to pick up this new collection at your local scrapbooking store

and make your planner magic also.

Chat again soon..

Sunkissed Angel Girl | Make A Wish | Lauren Hender

By | 2017-01-31T00:41:25+00:00 February 2nd, 2017|Design Team, Inspiration, Make A Wish|

Welcome back to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog.

It’s a new design team a new year and I feel wonderful things are going to happen. This is my first official blog post and to say I am excited is an understatement.

The layout I am sharing today is from the fun and fabulous Make A Wish Collection

This layout has a mix of everything Make A Wish,  patterned papers, chipboard, stickers, vellum accents and ephemera.

The collection has a sweetness about it that makes it perfect for any sunkissed girl or birthday party.

I was able to off set the frame work because I had this striking photo that kept the layout symmetrical.

It’s not my usual style but I think it worked out because of the photo.

Being apart of this team has truly been a dream come true and I hope to inspire you creatively over the next 12 months.
